Abstract

Research aims to forecast sugar production and consumption in Indonesia for 2022–2025 and analyze its implications for the national self-sufficiency target by 2025. The research method employs ARIMA (Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average) time series analysis using secondary data from BPS and the Ministry of Agriculture (1990–2021). Results indicate that sugar production in 2025 is projected to reach 2.72 million tons, while consumption will hit 8.45 million tons, resulting in a mere 32.19% self-sufficiency rate (far below the 90% target). Key constraints include stagnant sugarcane acreage, low yield (7%), and inefficient sugar mills. The study concludes that the 2025 target is unachievable without aggressive policy interventions, such as land expansion, productivity improvements, and industry modernization. These findings provide a basis for policymakers to redesign more realistic sugar sector strategies.

Abstract

One of the biggest issues facing countries around the world, including the Tapal Kuda region, is food security. Due to the large and productive agricultural area, a variety of food crops, including vegetables, corn, and rice, can be produced. However, it has food insecurity that can be caused by a decrease in crop area, lack of irrigation, low technology, social and economic changes. The purpose of this study is to ensure that poverty levels, rice production, GDP (Gross Regional Domestic Product), and rice prices have an impact on food security in Tapal Kuda. The sampling method used in the study was used deliberately, namely the purposive method. The selected examples are seven districts in the Tapal Kuda region including Probolinggo, Pasuruan, Lumajang, Jember, Bondowoso, Situbondo and Banyuwangi Regencies. Panel data regression analysis is a technique used that involves panel data or variations of cross section data and time series data. The analysis was carried out by managing the data using the Eviews software. The findings of the study show that poverty and rice prices have a negative impact on food security in the Tapal Kuda region, GDP (Gross Regional Domestic Product) and rice production have a positive impact. Optimizing the government's commitment to developing programs based on increasing local food production to keep pace with population growth and ensuring public access to safe and quality food can increase food security.

Abstract

Water is the most important part in cultivating plants, the availability of water is a source of agricultural support so that agricultural plants grow optimally. However, there is a scarcity of water supply in Lumajang sub-district, to meet the water needs of the land, farmers have built pump wells to distribute water to the land to meet the needs of rice and corn crops. This needs to be taken into account due to high operational costs, so calculating the economic value of pump well irrigation water is important. Researcher's objectives (1) What is the economic value of pump well model irrigation water. (2) What factors influence the economic value of pump well model irrigation water. The research area chosen by Lumajang District was carried out using the method Purposive sampling and methods Proportionate Stratifield Random  Sampling. Research Methods use descriptive and quantitative methods. Analytical tools use analytics Residual Imputation Approach (RIA) and Multiple Linear Regression analysis. The results of the RIA analysis of the economic value of pump model irrigation water in the dry season are the value of water in these 3 areas for cultivating corn and rice plants, in the dry season the operational costs for irrigating rice plants have a high volume of water, so farmers use water efficiently. Multiple linear regression analysis of factors influencing the economic value of pump irrigation water, Education (X1) has a significant effect with a coefficient of - 242.837, has a real negative effect on the economic value of pump irrigation water, and total income (X2) has a significant effect with a coefficient of 0.175, meaning it has a real positive influence on the economic value of pump irrigation water

Abstract

Indonesia’s cocoa commodity as one of the leading commodities, has the potential to improve the country’s economy. However, the increasing export volume is not matched by the decreasing production due to the decreasing land area. This study aims to identify the mapping of cocoa regions, identify the structure and growth rate of cocoa, and examine the role of cocoa in supporting Indonesia’s plantation activities. The research was conducted in 33 provinces of Indonesia using secondary data. The variables used are production and revenue of cocoa and plantation commodities in 2017-2023. The analytical tools used are Location Quotient (LQ), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ), Localisation and Specialisation analysis, Shift Share analysis (SSA), BSR analysis, RM, and Multiplier Effect. The results obtained from as many as 19 provinces are included in the base area with an LQ>1 value. The cocoa growth rate structure obtained that the value of National growth (PNij) is positive, Proportional growth (PPij) is negative, and Regional share growth (PPWij) is negative, so the average shift share value is positive and it is said that Indonesian cocoa is growing. The results of the analysis of the value of BSR, RM, and Multiplier Effect are positive so that Indonesian cocoa plays a role in supporting Indonesian plantations.

Abstract

This community service is part of a professional internship program that focuses on product diversification strategies as an effort to increase sales, improve competitiveness, and the sustainability of the dairy business at Rembangan Dairy Farm, Jember. The primary issues addressed include limited variety in processed milk products and suboptimal marketing strategies, which affect product quality consistency and market expansion. The objectives of this initiative are to analyze the effectiveness of product diversification strategies, identify internal and external factors influencing these strategies, and formulate development recommendations by designing a more adaptive business model using the Business Model Canvas (BMC). The methods employed include direct observation, interviews with stakeholders, and hands-on participation in operational activities such as livestock care, milk processing, and interviews during a 45-day internship at the UPT Pembibitan Ternak dan Hijauan Pakan Ternak Rembangan. The results demonstrate that product diversification, including flavored milk, milk pudding, and cheesecuit, successfully increased consumer appeal and product value. The BMC analysis mapped nine key business elements and provided a foundation for more structured strategic recommendations. This program offers strategic recommendations for the sustainable development of the dairy agroindustry.

Abstract

The plantation subsector always has a strategic role for regional development, both national and regional. Banyuwangi Regency is one of the coffee centers in East Java, with an average area of coffee commodities in Banyuwangi Regency of 8,675 Ha with average productivity from 2018-2022 reaching 904.4 kg/ha. The development of coffee commodities in Banyuwangi Regency is still experiencing several obstacles in increasing productivity and management. In the basic economic sectoral planning model, economic sectors are divided into basic sectors and non-basic sectors. The basic sector can be the basis for decision making in strategic management of coffee commodity development. Base area analysis is carried out using Location Quotient (LQ) analysis, while localization analysis and specialization analysis are used to determine distribution characteristics. The coffee commodity development strategy is determined by the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). There are 6 coffee commodity base regions or sub-districts in Banyuwangi Regency based on the average LQ from 2018-2022. The average value of the locality and specialization coefficients is less than one. The priority criteria in the coffee commodity development strategy are post-harvest farming criteria, while the alternative is the alternative of increasing the mechanization of product processing.
