Abstract

Background: Stunting can occur as a result of malnutrition, especially during the first 1000 days of life (HPK). Poor nutrition during pregnancy, growth, and early childhood can cause children to become stunted. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between feeding patterns and nutritional status in stunted toddlers at the North Klaten Community Health Center in Klaten Regency.  Methods: This study used an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of all mothers with stunted toddlers, totaling 234 people, using proportional stratified random sampling, resulting in a sample of 71 respondents. The research instruments used were the CFQ (Child Feeding Questionnaire) and anthropometric observation sheets. The validity and reliability of the instruments had been tested in previous studies. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the chi-square test.  Results: The results showed that most feeding patterns were inappropriate (69%) and the nutritional status of stunted toddlers was classified as short (56.3%). The chi-square test obtained a p-value of 0.004 (p<0.05), which means that there is a significant relationship between feeding patterns and the nutritional status of stunted toddlers.  Conclusion: The study shows that the more appropriate the feeding patterns applied by mothers, the better the nutritional status of their children. Health workers need to improve education for mothers about the importance of feeding patterns appropriate for their children's age and involve nutritionists and posyandu cadres in monitoring toddler growth.

Abstract

Based on Census Figure Survey data, it shows that the maternal mortality rate is around 305 per 100,000. It cannot be denied that caring for pregnant women during pregnancy is still a difficulty for the pregnant woman's family, especially the husband. Method: This study uses a systematic review method through relevant articles from Google Scholar with publication years 2007-2020. This article search was carried out using the Preferred Reporting Item for Systematics (PRISMA). This identification uses the Google Scholar database. Seen from the results of research in 10 journals, it shows that the level of husband's knowledge regarding pregnancy care is good, but the husband's role in domestic activities is still low, while the husband's social role in supporting pregnant women to participate in social activities is also still low. So there is a positive relationship between husband's support and the mother's motivation to pay attention to her pregnancy. It can be concluded that the success of pregnant women in undergoing the pregnancy process until delivery also depends on the role and support of the husband.

Abstract

The validity and reliability test of the spiritual needs instrument for pregnant women has never been conducted, where spiritual needs are important to develop a coping mechanism for adaptation during pregnancy. The purpose of this study was to test the validity and reliability of the spiritual needs instrument for pregnant women. The validity test was conducted by distributing questionnaires to 35 pregnant women during August - September 2024. The spiritual needs instrument used is based on the Patients Spiritual Needs Assessment Scale using a 5-point Likert scale, namely very inappropriate (score 0), inappropriate, not sure, appropriate, and very appropriate (score 4). Pearson correlation test of 38 statements of Spiritual Instrument of Pregnant Women showed that there were 33 valid statements with r count ≥ 0.256 (r: -0.036-0.641) and 6 invalid statements with r count < 0.256 (r: - 0.036). The Cronbach Alpha value with the smallest Cronbach Alpha value if the item is deleted is 0.890 and the highest value is 0.908. This instrument can validate and measure spiritual needs accurately, so that midwives can provide midwifery care by utilizing spiritual potential to facilitate the spiritual adaptation of pregnant women which varies in each trimester
