Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Direct Instruction in the TPQ program for juvenile inmates at LPKA class II Bengkulu. The research employed qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Participants included TPQ teachers, LPKA officials, and TPQ participant inmates. findings show that Direct Instruction in the TPQ program is implemented systematically, starting from the delivery of learning objectives, teacher led demonstrations, intensive guidance, comprehension checks through questions or memorization, to independent assignments. The instructional strategies are adapted to the inmate conditions, who are not allowed to bring writing tools into their cells, thus focusing the material on memorization and direct practice. The TPQ program not only emphasizes the mastery of Qur’an reading but also shapes inmate character and morals through regular worship practices, memorization of short surahs, and instilling Islamic values. Challenges faced include limited time, facilities, and varying learning abilities among participants.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing metacognitive learning on improving students' critical thinking skills in the Identification of Learning Needs course in the Non-Formal Education Study Program, University of Bengkulu. The study used a quasi-experimental method with two groups, namely the experimental group that received metacognitive learning treatment and the control group that used conventional learning. The research subjects consisted of 60 fifth-semester students, with 30 students in each group. Data were collected through a critical thinking ability test that covered aspects of interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation, and self-regulation. The results showed that metacognitive learning had a significant effect on improving students' critical thinking skills. The average critical thinking ability score of the experimental group (81.7) was higher than that of the control group (64.5) by 17.2 points. The self-regulation aspect experienced the highest increase, indicating that awareness and control of the thinking process are key to successful learning. Thus, the integration of metacognitive strategies is important to implement in learning design in higher education to foster independence, reflection, and higher-order thinking skills that support lifelong learning.    Keywords: Metacognitive Learning, Critical Thinking, Students, Non-Formal Education, Identification of Learning Needs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan Peran Karang Taruna dalam pelestarian adat Takhi Menakhi di Kecamatan Nasal, Kabupaten Kaur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, serta validasi menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Karang Taruna memiliki peran penting dalam melestarikan adat Takhi Menakhi, yang merupakan kesenian tradisional dan identitas budaya masyarakat setempat. Peran tersebut diwujudkan melalui kegiatan latihan rutin setiap malam Jum’at dan malam Minggu yang meliputi tari, tabuhan gendang, dan nyanyian adat, serta melalui keterlibatan dalam pelaksanaan upacara adat dan kegiatan sosialisasi ke sekolah untuk menumbuhkan minat generasi muda. Meskipun menghadapi kendala seperti keterbatasan alat perlengkapan dan rendahnya keaktifan sebagian anggota, Karang Taruna mampu mengatasinya melalui kerja sama dengan tokoh adat, pemerintah desa, dan masyarakat. Dengan demikian, Karang Taruna berperan sebagai penggerak utama dan ujung tombak pelestarian budaya lokal, yang berkontribusi dalam menjaga keberlangsungan adat Takhi Menakhi agar tetap hidup dan diwariskan kepada generasi berikutnya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan strategi komunikasi Gerakan Subuh Berjamaah (GSB) di Kota Bengkulu. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek empat orang melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Validasi data dilakukan dengan triangulasi waktu, subjek, dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa GSB menggunakan strategi komunikasi tatap muka dan media digital. Tatap muka dilakukan melalui hubungan personal dengan pengurus masjid, sedangkan media digital seperti WhatsApp, Instagram, dan Facebook dimanfaatkan untuk menyebarkan informasi. Strategi produksi media dirancang sesuai kebutuhan masyarakat dengan memperhatikan karakteristik audiens. Pendekatan ini efektif menjangkau lintas usia, khususnya generasi muda, serta mendorong perubahan perilaku keagamaan, sosial, dan sikap individu melalui pembinaan rutin berbasis Al-Qur’an. Dampak positif juga terlihat pada kehidupan keluarga, akademik, dan masyarakat. Dengan demikian, strategi komunikasi dan pembinaan GSB terbukti mampu menumbuhkan kesadaran keagamaan serta partisipasi sosial berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pelatihan membatik bagi warga binaan pada Lembaga Pemasyarakatan (LAPAS) Perempuan Kelas IIB Bengkulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi serta divalidasi menggunakan teknik triangulasi sumber, waktu dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tahapan pelatihan membatik dilaksanakan melalui tahapan sistematis yang diawali dengan asesmen awal untuk memetakan minat, bakat, dan kemampuan dasar warga binaan. Hasil asesmen menjadi dasar dalam penentuan program pembinaan melalui sidang TPP agar pelatihan yang diberikan tepat sasaran. Tahap pelatihan difokuskan pada pembekalan keterampilan membatik secara bertahap, mulai dari pengenalan bahan dan alat, pembuatan pola, teknik mencanting, pewarnaan, hingga. Proses evaluasi (penilaian) mencakup penilaian aspek pengetahuan melalui tes lisan, sikap melalui observasi kedisiplinan dan tanggung jawab, serta keterampilan melalui penilaian kualitas hasil karya batik. Pelatihan ini memberikan dampak signifikan berupa peningkatan keterampilan teknis membatik, pembentukan sikap positif seperti kemandirian dan ketekunan, serta peningkatan kepercayaan diri warga binaan.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia plays a strategic role in human development. The educational process can change behavior, improve skills, foster religious approaches, develop the potential for awareness, and become independent individuals. This study aims to determine the potential for campuses to contribute to sustainable innovation through a triple helix approach. The method used is a quantitative field research approach involving campuses, industry, and the government. The results show that research contributions to industry (average = 4.2; standard deviation = 0.7) and knowledge transfer (average = 4.0; standard deviation = 0.6) are in the high category. In the industrial aspect, support for innovation programs received a fairly high score (average = 3.9; standard deviation = 0.8), while investment obligations in research were at a moderate level (average = 3.7; standard deviation = 0.9). Furthermore, pro-innovation regulations (Mean = 3.8; Standard Deviation = 0.7) and funding facilitation (Mean = 3.6; Standard Deviation = 0.8) are in the moderate category and Collaboration between actors in the triple helix model shows good results. The level of synergy between campuses and industry (Mean = 4.1; Standard Deviation = 0.6) and the sustainability of joint programs (Mean = 4.0; Standard Deviation = 0.7) are in the good category. Based on the research results that have been obtained, the triple helix model is a collaborative model design that can be used in human development. It is found that industrial collaboration supports research in the world of academic campuses plays a role in research and practical value for the industrial world. Furthermore, collaboration between actors shows good results involving not only campuses, industry, and government, but also the community as end users. The government plays a role as a facilitator and driver that supports the growth of innovation.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge, skills, and business readiness of the community through training in making basreng (shrimp cake) from selengek fish, a processed, value-added product. The target group is 20 coastal communities, particularly housewives. The activity was implemented through three stages: planning (problem identification and needs mapping), implementation (socialization, material provision, demonstrations, and practical assistance), and evaluation through observation and analysis of pre- and post-test results. The results showed improvements in participants' knowledge, processing skills, product quality, and business readiness after the training. In short, the training on making basreng from selengek fish has proven effective in increasing community capacity in processing local fishery products and has the potential to boost income and economic well-being sustainably
