Abstract

Nickel is a metal of high strategic value for human needs to make stainless steel, batteries, and other products. The amount of nickel reserves in the world is about 72 % in rock oxides, and the rest is in sulfide rocks. However, only about 42 % of total nickel production in the world comes from laterite ore, while nickel sulfide is mainly produced. Research was conducted to determine the optimum nickel extraction parameters in a mixture of nitric acid and hydrochloric acid, and to determine the effect of the solvent volume ratio, temperature, and leaching time parameters on the nickel leaching results from laterite samples. This study uses the taguchi¬larger the better method with each factor having three levels of conditions, namely the volume ratio of the solvent using variations of 1: 1, 1: 2, and 2: 1 then variations in temperature of 30°C, 60 °C, and 90 °C as well as variations in the leaching time of 3 hours, 6 hours, and 12 hours. The optimum conditions for nickel extraction are a parameter ratio of 1:1, a temperature of 90 °C, and a leaching time of 6 hours. The results of atomic absorption spectrophotometer analysis showed that the concentration of Ni2+ at optimum conditions was 10.7895 ppm, and the recovery value was 2.54 %.

Abstract

This study looks at how students' abilities in contextual company development are affected when entrepreneurship education is reconstructed using a management style grounded on local ethnoscience. 18 students from the 2019 cohort who took the Entrepreneurship course in the Chemistry Education programme at Universitas Sembilanbelas November Kolaka provided survey data for the study. Through direct observation and group business planning, students were introduced to fundamental entrepreneurial principles and assisted in interacting with local ethnoscientific resources, including sago, cassava, green vegetables (spinach), clove, honey, shrimp, and milkfish. Standardised questionnaire encompassing eight important markers of ethnoscientific understanding in entrepreneurship was used to gather data. To understand the findings, descriptive and mapping data analysis were used. The findings show that students are highly engaged and competent in locating, evaluating, and innovatively using local resources for entrepreneurship. The most motivating resources were honey, cassava, and shrimp, and students showed great aptitude in contextual business design, product creation, and team-based entrepreneurial analysis. The main results support the idea that including local ethnoscience into entrepreneurship education increases both practical entrepreneurial abilities and cultural and ecological sensitivity. This concept is a potential educational framework for creating entrepreneurs who are innovative, locally rooted, and prepared for the future.

Abstract

E-modules or electronic modules are non-printing digital modules that are developed with special computer-assisted applications, and multimedia elements are provided to make them more attractive and interactive. To make the module more interesting, teachers also need innovation in developing modules, namely modules based on approaches, methods or models. One that can be developed is combining the PjBL learning model with the STEM approach. The combination of the application of the STEM approach with the project-based learning (PjBL) learning model can encourage cooperation between educational institutions and industry. The PjBL model emphasizes project-based learning with a STEM approach that requires integration between natural science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The combination can develop critical, creative, and collaborative thinking skills in their students. However, the reality in the field based on interviews with the head of the Donggala district mathematics MGMP, there is no e-module for mathematics learning based on PjBL with a STEM approach for teachers and students in Donggala Regency. Teachers who are members of the Mathematics Subject Teacher Conference (MGMP) as partners of this service are still experiencing problems in making modules / e-modules that are interestingly interactive and link them to learning approaches and models. These problems are caused by various factors, including members of the Donggala district mathematics MGMP who do not understand: 1) the principles of interesting and interactive e-module design, 2) techniques for making PjBL-based e-modules with a STEM approach, 3) techniques for designing and implementing effective project-based learning (PjBL) and combining science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in chemistry learning (STEM). The solution offered to overcome the partner's problems is to provide workshops/training: 1) the principles of attractive and interactive e-module design, 2) making PjBL-based e-modules with a STEM approach, 3) how to analyze and interpret mathematics materials related to project-based learning (PjBL, as well as analysis of mathematics materials related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and their incorporation techniques in mathematics learning (STEM) The purpose of this service activity is to overcome partner problems in compiling and developing PjBL-based e-modules with a STEM approach so as to improve the numeracy-literacy skills of teachers who are members of the Donggala district mathematics MGMP. The outputs that have been achieved are that the members of the partner group have made PjBl-based e-modules with a STEM approach so that there is an increase in their numeracy literacy skills and publish the e-modules and process them into the form of PjBl-based books / modules with a STEM approach that has an ISBN and HaKi.

Abstract

As a result of their increased exposure to technology, today's students are skilled users of a wide range of digital gadgets in their daily lives. To solve difficulties, they can freely access knowledge across a variety of digital platforms; this ability has to be included into contemporary learning principles. The purpose of this study is to investigate how lecturers might modify innovative teaching methods to better suit the needs of their students. 125 people participated in the survey that we did; 59 of them were from scientific programs and 66 were from non-science programs. The study used observation sheets, interview guides, and questionnaires. The questionnaire was split into two sections: one measured students' opinion of the technology and pedagogical innovations used by lecturers, and the other their reactions to the classroom and educational system. Before any data was collected, the validity and reliability of the instruments were confirmed. The findings showed that students had preferences for different types of technology. Students in scientific programs liked interactive platforms like Edmodo and Google Classroom, while students in other programs liked webinars and video conferences. Additionally, the study found a relationship between the educational trends that lecturers apply, pedagogical innovation, and the learning environment. The results of this study are anticipated to improve instructional practices in digital learning settings and provide a basis for policymaking in continuing education.
