Abstract

Olele Marine Park is a marine tourism destination that has great potential because of its underwater beauty and biological wealth. However, this potential has not been fully utilized by the surrounding community to its full potential. This community service activity aims to increase community involvement in managing tourism areas through environmental education, tourism awareness training, and strengthening local institutions. The methods used are field observation, group discussions, and direct assistance to the community. The results of the activity show an increase in community understanding of the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of the tourism environment, preserving coral reefs, and basic skills in tourism services. Tourism development that directly involves the community has proven to be able to build a sense of ownership and encourage the growth of local initiatives in managing tourism areas sustainably.

Abstract

Learning media assisted by the Doratoon app, combined with engagement, collaboration, and deeper understanding of the material, while the interactive and visual nature of the app helps accommodate various learning styles. This research aims to determine the effect of using learning media assisted by the Doratoon app with a cooperative model on the learning outcomes of work and simple machines in class VIII at SMP Negeri 11 Gorontalo. This study is an experimental research with a one-group pretest-posttest Design. The sampling technique used in this study is Cluster Random Sampling. This research utilizes VIII C, designated as the experimental class, selected randomly through a lottery method. The data for this study were collected through testing techniques. The results of the analysis of the experimental class yield a gain value of 0.83, which indicates that the sample class falls into the high category. Thus, the use of learning media assisted by the Doratoon application with a cooperative model significantly affects student learning outcomes in the material of work and simple machines.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of physics learning on the sound topic for intellectually disabled students in phase F at Special Schools, and to find out how teachers adjusted strategies, interactions, and learning media based on students’ characteristics. This research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, with validation using method triangulation. The results showed that physics learning on the sound topic was conducted in three stages: preliminary, core, and closing activities. In the preliminary stage, the teacher greeted, prayed, and gave appreciation, but the learning objectives were not clearly stated. In the core activities, the teacher used the lecture method with textbooks as the main learning resource, while the use of concrete media or technology was minimal. The interaction between teachers and students tended to be one-way, and not all students were actively engaged. In the closing stage, the teacher asked students to independently summarize the material and assigned homework as an evaluation tool. The learning strategies were mostly verbal and had not fully involved multisensory media or individual approaches tailored to students’ needs. In conclusion, the teacher made efforts to adjust the learning strategies to the characteristics of intellectually disabled students in phase F. However, improvement was still needed, particularly in the use of varied learning media, fostering more active interactions, and applying more concrete and participatory learning approaches to enhance learning effectiveness.

Abstract

Collaborative learning has the potential to address these challenges by promoting problem-solving through collective participation within groups. This research investigates the effect of the Jire Collaborative Learning model integrated with Phylearn media on students’ learning outcomes regarding heat and temperature. The study was motivated by low student achievement, primarily attributed to conventional teaching methods to engage students in active participation. This quasi-experimental research employed a one-group pre-test-post-test design involving 25 seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Monano. The Jire Collaborative model emphasizes active student collaboration, while Phylearn provides interactive multimedia support to help visualize abstract scientific concepts. The findings reveal a significant improvement in students’ cognitive performance (levels C2-C4) after the intervention, indicating that the integrated approach effectively improves conceptual understanding. This influence is demonstrated by the difference in students’ learning outcomes before and after applying the JIRE model, where the average pre-test score of 46.4 increased to 81.05 in the post-test. The t-test results indicate that this difference is statistically significant, with a significance value of 2.10, less than 0.05. These findings confirm a significant difference between students’ pre-test and post-test scores after applying the JIRE collaborative learning model, indicating that this model effectively improves students’ learning outcomes. These results suggest that technology-supported collaborative learning is a promising strategy for improving the quality of science education at the junior high school level.

Abstract

Problem-solving skills are important skills in physics learning. However, learning practices in schools are still dominated by conventional methods that are less able to accommodate differences in learning styles and student readiness levels. Therefore, the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with a differentiated approach is seen as effective in improving students' critical, creative, and analytical thinking skills, especially in sound wave materials. This study uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experiment design. The subject of the study was grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Kabila which consisted of one experimental class and two replication classes. The research instrument is in the form of pretest and posttest essay questions to measure problem-solving skills. Data analysis was carried out through Liliefors normality test, Alpha Cronbach reliability, paired sample t-test, and N-Gain calculation. The results of the study showed a significant increase in the average pretest and posttest scores in all classes. The normality test states that the data is normally distributed, while the reliability test confirms that the instrument is classified as reliable. The hypothesis test proved that H? was rejected, with an average N-Gain of more than 0.7 which meant a very high increase. Thus, the application of the differentiated PBL model has been proven to have a positive effect on problem-solving skills and encourage students to be more active, involved, motivated, and able to solve contextual problems according to learning styles.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the thermal performance of green canopies in public green spaces (RTH), both outdoors and indoors, as an environmentally friendly solution. The method involved measuring temperature and humidity over a five-month period with four observation intervals. The data were analyzed using the Temperature-Humidity Index (THI) and compared with thermal comfort standards based on the Indonesian National Standard (SNI). The results show that at 0% plant coverage, the THI values fall into the "comfortable to slightly uncomfortable" category during the period from 19:00 to 08:00. In contrast, at 81.25% plant coverage, THI values remain in the "comfortable to slightly uncomfortable" range from 21:00 to 09:00. Relative humidity met the SNI standard of 75%. Furthermore, the outdoor temperature decreased by 4.9 °C, while the indoor temperature decreased by 3.5 °C. These findings indicate that the presence of green canopies, particularly in private green spaces, significantly reduces both outdoor and indoor temperatures as the percentage of plant coverage increases. Keywords: Public Green Space, Green Canopy, Temperature Humidity Index, Indonesian National Standards
