Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the learning cycle 5e learning model assisted by PhET media on student learning outcomes in the subject matter of elasticity and Hooke's law. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Tapa in class XI during the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year, with a population of students in class XI IPA. The research subjects were class XI IPA 1 as the experimental class and XI IPA 2 as the control class, totaling 42 people. XI IPA 1 was taught using a learning cycle model assisted by PhET media, while XI IPA 2 was taught using a conventional learning model. The method used in this study was an experimental method with a research design using a pretest-posttest control group design. The variables in this study were independent and dependent variables. The instrument used was a written essay test to measure the level of student learning outcomes on elasticity and Hooke's law. Sampling in this study was done using a cluster random sampling technique. The data analysis techniques used in this research included data normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis test, and n-gain test. The results showed that the average pretest value in the experimental class was 43.6, while in the control class it was 37.7. After treatment in each class, the posttest average values were 69.6 in the experimental class and 58.1 in the control class. Based on the results of testing the hypothesis, it was found that tcount = 6.26 ≥ ttable = 2.02, indicating that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. This demonstrates that learning using the learning cycle 5e learning model assisted by PhET media has a significant effect on student learning outcomes. The increase in student learning outcomes can be seen in the n-gain test analysis, with the experimental and control classes obtaining scores of 0.6 and 0.5 respectively, indicating moderate n-gain criteria. This means that the treatment given has an influence on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the design and feasibility of the MOFIN learning media. This research model employs the 4D method (Define, Design, Development, and Dissemination). Data collection techniques include interviews (initial stage), observations, and tests (experimental stage). The validity of the MOFIN learning media design obtained an average scale of 3.43 from the validators, with the "Valid" criteria indicating that it can be used with some revisions. The results of the experimental testing (practicality) of the MOFIN learning media revealed that the implementation of the learning process was "Very Good," with a percentage of 93%. The response from the students showed the highest percentage in the aspect of "Character Education," with a percentage of 91% or received a "Very Good" response. The effectiveness of the media was assessed through the students' activities, which showed an average percentage of 94%. After conducting the learning assessment test, the students obtained an average score of 86.25, with the lowest score being 77, indicating that they have reached the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) set by MA Al-Falah Tolutu

Abstract

The implementation of automated plant watering systems in the agricultural sector utilizes sensor technology based on the Internet of Things (IoT). This study aims to evaluate the performance of soil moisture and temperature sensors utilizing the IoT in an automated plant watering system. The sensors used are the YL-69 sensor to determine soil moisture and the DS18B20 temperature sensor to determine soil temperature. Both sensors are connected to the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller. Testing was conducted from 07:00 to 17:00 WITA, with a 1-hour interval for data collection, monitored using the IoT on the blink application on the cellphone. Then, the data obtained is analyzed to determine the values of error and accuracy. The results obtained on the soil moisture sensor have an average error of 0.989% with an average accuracy of 99.011%. Meanwhile, the results obtained on the soil temperature sensor have an average error of 1.240% with an average accuracy level of 98.760%. The lower the error value, the better the sensor performance indicates the sensor's ability to read data that is close to the actual value of the comparison tool. Likewise, the higher the level of sensor accuracy, the better and more reliable the sensor is when used in an IoT-based soil temperature measurement system. This value indicates that the sensor's performance has a very high level of reliability and precision in detecting soil moisture and temperature in real-time. This system can be applied in agricultural technology education and vocational training programs.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the type and thickness of sediment in Lake Limboto using the Schlumberger configuration geoelectric method. This method was chosen because of its ability to detect resistivity variations that reflect the characteristics of subsurface sediments. The research procedure begins with an initial survey to determine strategic measurement locations, followed by electrode arrangement and resistivity measurements. Data obtained from the measurements were analyzed using geophysical analysis software to produce a resistivity distribution model. The results showed that there were variations in sediment types, including sand, clay, and alluvial soil, as well as varying sediment thicknesses in various locations. These findings are expected to provide useful information for water resource management and mitigation of shallowing problems in Lake Limboto.

Abstract

The Gorontalo region is one of the regions on the island of Sulawesi that is quite significant in terms of tectonic activity due to earthquakes. This is because Gorontalo is located in a tectonic environment, with a subduction zone in the Sulawesi Trench north and the Balantak Thrust and Batui Thrust south of the Gorontalo Fault. To further understand Gorontalo's seismic activity, we conducted a seismotectonic analysis in the form of identifying the number of earthquakes from 1994 to 2025, interpreting the results of the focal mechanism distribution by classifying them in the Kaverina diagram, and analyzing the results of earthquake hypocentre relocation from 2015 to 2022. The study results show that 2.317 earthquake events over 30 years spread across all areas of Gorontalo, categorised as shallow, medium, and deep earthquakes. The Gorontalo area is dominated by reverse faulting focus mechanisms, which are commonly found at shallow to intermediate depths. This is interpreted as being due to the presence of a subduction zone. A different situation occurs at deep depths, where the focal mechanism is normal faulting, indicating the presence of extensional forces due to the rollback slab process. The distribution of earthquake mechanisms also shows that a combination of strike-slip and reverse mechanisms occurs around active fault zones. In contrast, strike-slip mechanisms with standard mechanisms are more dominant in extensional zones.

Abstract

Multi-sensor technology based on the Internet of Things (IoT) is implemented in determining the accuracy of sensors for airtemperature, air humidity, and light intensity. The multi-sensor based on IoT consists of a DHT11 sensor to detect air temperature and humidity, and a BH1750 sensor to detect light intensity was implemented using the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller, monitored via the IoT on the Blynk application on the smartphone. Data Sensor validation by comparing data from the Indonesian National Standards measuring instrument to determine the sensor accuracy. The results of testing the sensors for air temperature, air humidity, and light intensity produced average accuracies of 99.440%, 100%, and 99.874%, respectively. All sensor errors remain within the specified tolerance limit of <5%. The low error sensor results in a high accuracy value. These sensors are suitable for various monitoring needs, both in automation systems and environmental research.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model based on local Gorontalo cultural values on the learning outcomes of simple aircraft concepts. This research is experimental, with the research design being a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study was all class VIII of SMP Negeri 8 Paguyaman for the 2023/2024 academic year. Research data was collected using test techniques. Then, the data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including normality tests, hypothesis tests, and n-gain analysis. The average score for all sample classes for class VIII students is greater than the minimum completion criteria (MCC), as shown by the average score for the experimental class of 81.97, replication class 1 of 80.91, and replication class 2 of 80.15, compared to the MCC of 75. Based on the course results, the average normalized gain obtained by the experimental class was 0.69, replication class 1 was 0.68, and replication class 2 was 0.68, meaning that all sample classes are in the medium category. Thus, the PjBL model based on local Gorontalo cultural values has a significant effect on student learning outcomes in simple aircraft concepts
