Abstract

Vocabulary is one of the main elements in English. because mastery of vocabulary is very important in learning English, one method that can be used in teaching vocabulary is through word walls. The purpose of this study was to describe the responses of class VIII students in one of the junior high schools in Karawang using the word wall technique in vocabulary learning. This study was conducted to see whether the use of word walls is effective in learning vocabulary. The design of this research uses a case study. These results indicate that the use of vocabulary in vocabulary learning gets a positive response from students. They feel that by using the word wall their vocabulary increases and they are motivated to continue learning English. But there are drawbacks to the use of word walls in vocabulary learning, namely, it takes a long time to make word walls and the cost is quite expensive. To conclude, using the word wall technique in students' vocabulary learning positively affected them; it improved their vocabulary learning and motivated them to continue using it.

Abstract

Pelatihan Strategy Pembelajaran Listening Comprehension Melalui E–Learning Visual Method Dalam Meningkatkan English Vocabulary Skill. Berangkat dari permasalahan yang dihadapi saat ini, seperti halnya hasil dari pengamatan awal (first observasion) dimana keberadaan kondisi pembelajaran mahasiswa dari hasil pengamatan dosen antara lain; (1) Rendahnya tingkat kemampuan dalam memahami Kosa-kata Bahasa Inggris (English Vocabulary), (2) Rendahnya perhatian terhadap materi yang diajarkan, (3) Rendahnya rasa tanggungjawab dalam merespon tugas-tugas yang diberikan, (3) Rata-rata nilai yang diperoleh tergolong rendah hanya 60% dilihat dari hasil UTS dan UAS dari jumlah banyaknya peserta. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Ceramah dan Praktek yaitu:Memberikan pemebelajaran dan Pelatihan Strategy Pembelajaran Listening Comprehension Melalui E–Learning Visual Method Dalam Meningkatkan English Vocabulary Skill.. Adapun tujuan utama dari kegiatan pelatihan ini bermaksud mefasilitasi mahasiswa unsika dalam meningkatkan kemampuan dalam pemahaman terhadap materi yang diajarkan. Sementara jumlah participan dalam pelatihan ini sebanyak satu orang anggota pelatih dan 30 orang mahasiswa. Pelatihan ini akan dianalisa secara serius Ada pun Target Luaran yang diharapkan hasil dari pelatihan ini dapat memberikan kontribusi sebuah strategi pembelajaran listening melalui E-learning, serta dapat dipublikasikan melalui Jurnal Nasional dalam bentuk Article atau Media Cetak lainya.

Abstract

Perekonomian berbasis koperasi mampu memberikan nilai kesejahteraan bagi anggota yang dibangun atas dasar nilai kekeluargaan yang tinggi namun dalam prakteknya tidak sedikit masyarakat yang masih menganggap tidak perlu atau tertarik terhadap perekonomian yang dilakukan oleh koperasi. Hal ini terlihat dari partisipasi masyarakat Indonesia untuk berkoperasi masih sebesar sangat kecil yakni mencapai 8,41 persen, sedangkan negara lain sudah mencapai 16,31 persen. metode yang dilaksanakan terkait kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat mengenai workshop menumbuh kembangkan kesadaran masyarakat untuk berkoperasi adalah dengan mengadakan kegiatan webinar tentang koperasi dengan mendatangkan nara sumber dari Dinas Koperasi Kabupaten Karawang dengan harapan mampu memberikan kontribusi pemikiran dan masukan guna meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat untuk memiliki minat dalam meningkatkan perekonomian. Adapun hasil yang diperoleh adalah memberikan pengenalan dan pengetahuan koperasi secara mendalam kepada para peserta yang hadir serta membantu memberikan solusi bagi para pengurus koperasi dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan anggotanya terutama di masa pandemic saat ini serta memberikan wawasan dan pendampingan terhadap para pengurus koperasi guna memiliki manajemen yang baik dalam mengelola koperasi yang dimiliki.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji analisis strategi bisnis UMKM dengan digital, khususnya pada digital marketing pada saat dan pasca pandemic covid-19. Penelotian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan bersifat deskriptif. Dalam mengumupulkan data peneliti menggunakan instrument observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi yang dilakukan di daerah Cikarang Timur, Bekasi. Lalu data di Analisa dengan Teknik Interaktif model. Hasil dari penelitin ini adalah UMKM menghadapi persoalan baru yang lebih serius, antara lain produksi yang terbatas, kesulitan menganalisis kebutuhan pasar, pesaing yang melek digital, penjualan dan produksi yang menurun, serta distribusi yang terbatas. Akhirnya, UMKM harus memahami dan menerapkan digital untuk mengatasi masalah ini. Pemasaran digital menargetkan berbagai wilayah dan negara (ekspor). UMKM harus tangguh beradaptasi dengan permasalahan digital. Analisis SWOT membantu UMKM menerapkan dan mengintegrasikan penggunaan digital untuk bisnis mereka mereka. Abstract

Extensive reading has been suggested as one of the most successful ways to develop reading skills. The aim of this researchers is to investigate teachers’ strategy in involving students in extensive reading classes using digital novel media, and to explore the students' views in participating in. The data collection was carried out through observation and interviews. An English teacher and six students of class IX participated in this study. This researchers aimed to investigate the application of teachers involving students in extensive reading classes using digital novel media, and to explore the students' views in participating in extensive reading learning assisted by digital novels. This study uses qualitative researchers that focuses on students' experiences in reading extensively with the help of digital novels in making reviews. In addition, the researchers uses a narrative inquiry method to explore students' experiences of extensive reading with the help of digital novels. Researchers also use interviews to collect data and a list of questions as researchers instrumentation. The results show that the use of the digital novel in involving students in extensive reading classes makes students very active and enthusiastic in the extensive reading activities. the students enjoyed reading activities . In addition, students were interested in learning to read extensively because they felt that extensive reading activities assisted by digital novels make them accustomed to reading unconsciously. However, there are several challenges faced by the students such as difficulties in technical problems, some students also faced with poor signal connections problems. Furthermore, the students found that the use of the digital novels was more economical, practical, and accessible and attractive in design. Thus, students thought that the extensive reading technique mediated by digital novels is suitable for learning to read.

Abstract

Quality education can improve the quality of human resources. Moral education for students is essential to improve their quality of life. Moral learning in the ELT context can help students to develop their personality and positive relationships with others. Consequently, the researcher aims to examine the moral values in the English learning textbook "English for Nusantara," designed for 7th-grade students. This study employs a qualitative approach, employing a content analysis design for its methodology. This research was conducted using the moral criteria proposed by Michele Borba. The results showed that all components of moral values appeared in the students' textbooks. The most dominant moral learning is about self-control representing 28.36%, while the lowest moral value is Conscience representing 4.48%. Each of these moral values is related to one another because if one of them arises, the affective of other students will emerge from the components of the moral values of other students. The findings of this study support students to become individuals with integrity.

Abstract

Karate menjadi sebuah aktivitas olahraga dan seni bela diri yang diminati dan bahkan diajarkan kepada siswa di SMP Negeri 1 Karawang Barat. Kendati demikian pada aspek kuda-kuda, siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dan perlu pelatihan intensif. Untuk itu diadakan pelatihan yang berfokus pada teknik kuda-kuda depan (zenkutsu dachi) yang merupakan dasar dalam seni bela diri karate. Pelatihan diadakan sebanyak 5 pertemuan melibatkan 22 siswa. Melalui pelatihan, siswa diajarkan pengetahuan dasar, kegunaan dan metode kuda-kuda depan yang benar. Pelatihan dilaksanakan secara fun learning. Hasilnya menunjukkan siswa merasakan pengalaman belajar pelatihan karate dengan cara yang menyenangkan dan terfokus. Dengan melaitih kuda-kuda secara rutin dan berkelanjutan mampu meningkatkan skill siswa. Selain itu siswa juga menjadi semakin kolaboratif di antara peserta, memiliki kemandirian, kedisiplinan, sikap tanggung jawab dan kesadaran melakukan aktivitas yang bermanfaat dan menyehatkan tubuh sesuai kebutuhan perkembangan dan belajar mereka.

Abstract

The theme of this research is the Workshop on Improving the Performance of Early Childhood Education Teachers in Duren Village, Karawang Regency. Is a pre-school educational institution that prepares students to continue to the next level. The development of human resources, in this case educators, is a very decisive factor in encouraging teacher performance so that an increasingly urgent demand to make changes today's innovative performance becomes an increasingly urgent demand to be implemented by teachers. Educators have a very strategic role in the formation of knowledge, skills, and character of students. Therefore, professional educators will carry out their duties professionally so as to produce more qualified students. Becoming a professional educator will not just happen without efforts to improve their abilities. As for one way to realize the competence of educators is the party who has an important role including the principal, where the principal is a very important educational leader.

Abstract

The Management of Pedagogical Competence and Professional Competence Improvement for Elementary School Teachers through Education and Training (Diklat) must be continuously enhanced and intensified, and should be conducted well to achieve the Diklat goals from the planning stage to implementation and evaluation, even though there are still some weaknesses in the planning and execution of the Diklat. This is based on a preliminary study that found about 60% of elementary school teachers in Karawang Regency apparently have insufficient mastery of teaching competencies, especially in pedagogical and professional competencies. Meanwhile, among the prospective Diklat participants, 37 individuals (61.6%) claimed to have a sufficient grasp of pedagogical and professional competencies, while 23 individuals (38.3%) lacked mastery of these competencies. The Diklat planning process involves conducting a Need Assessment analysis of the training, including a strategic program analysis, a personal analysis of prospective participants and training instructors, and an analysis of tasks related to the training's content and objectives. The implementation phase begins with Diklat packages for Mathematics Adaptation, Science Adaptation, ICT Learning, and the Reading Program. Diklat activities are carried out gradually, starting with School Team Workshops (STW), Teacher Study Groups (KKG), and Teacher Coaching and Assistance Teams (KKKS). Participants, who are elementary school teachers, are trained by MI/SD supervisors and instructors from public and private higher education institutions (PTN/PTS) using inquiry, demonstration, role-playing, and problem-based learning methods. The Diklat is expected to enhance teachers' competency by achieving a high level of mastery of the training material. They should also have a good grasp of teaching competencies and be able to contribute to improving teacher performance. Despite some challenges encountered during its implementation, including: a. A small number of training instructors lacking professionalism in mastering the training material; b. The combination of teacher participants with different educational backgrounds, some having completed SPG/SLTA-equivalent education and others holding a Bachelor's degree, resulting in varying rates of material absorption and reduced motivation for learning among SPG/SLTA-equivalent graduates; c. Insufficient computer facilities for ICT lessons.

Abstract

The teacher's obligation to implement authentic assessment has been increasingly emphasized since the publication of the 2013 curriculum. In its implementation, there are still many obstacles faced by teachers, such as the many aspects of assessment and the teacher's lack of understanding of authentic assessment. The focus of this research is to investigate teachers’ beliefs and practices of authentic assessment in assessing students' speaking skills. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study design. The participants in this study were two teachers who had teaching experience of more than 20 years who taught at the same school. Data collection was carried out through interviews and followed by class observations twice a week. The results of this study found that both teachers expressed their beliefs about authentic assessment in terms of authentic assessment concept, assessment reference, authentic assessment task, assessment instrument, and assessment preparation. However, several stated beliefs are not implemented in practice. Based on the findings obtained, the implications in this research indicate the need for guidance to teachers regarding the importance of thorough preparation in assessing students' abilities with established curriculum standards.
