Abstract

Background: Meatballs (Pentol) are a commonly consumed food that are often susceptible to bacterial contamination. They are popular among students. However, the food safety of meatballs is a concern due to the potential for contamination with pathogenic bacteria. Purpose: To analyze the presence of Escherichia coli and Salmonella sp. in meatballs sold around the UNG campus. Method: This quantitative descriptive study involved five fish meatball vendors, both on and off campus. The sample size was the same as the population, with each sample weighing 25 grams, equivalent to three meatballs. Data analysis used the Most Probable Number (MPN) method. Results: A total of five samples were examined, and all tested positive for Escherichia coli and Salmonella sp. in fish meatballs using Salmonella Shigela Agar (SSA) media. Conclusion: Escherichia coli bacteria were present in fish meatballs using the Most Probable Number (MPN) method in five meatball samples from fish meatball vendors. The results of this study did not meet the requirements of SNI No. 7388:2009. Of the five samples tested, five tested positive for Salmonella sp.   Keywords: Escherichia Coli; Pentol; Salmonella sp.   Pendahuluan: Pentol merupakan salah satu jajanan yang sering di konsumsi oleh Masyarakat yang tidak luput dari adanya kontaminasi bakteri. Pentol adalah makanan yang populer di kalangan mahasiswa. Namun, keamanan pangan pentol menjadi perhatian karena potensi kontaminasi bakteri patogen. Tujuan: Untuk menganalisis keberadaan bakteri Escherichia coli dan Salmonella sp pada pentol yang ada di sekitaran kampus UNG. Metode: Penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 5 orang pedagang pentol ikan di dalam kampus maupun diluar kampus. Jumlah sampel sama dengan populasi yaitu 5 pedagang pentol ikan dengan berat setiap satu sampel yaitu 25 gram atau setara tiga biji pentol. Analisis data menggunakan metode Most Probable Number (MPN). Hasil: Sebanyak 5 sampel yang diperiksa, semua sampel positif mengandung bakteri Escherichia coli dan bakteri Salmonella sp pada pentol ikan menggunakan media Salmonella Shigella Agar (SSA). Simpulan: Terdapat bakteri Escherichia coli pada pentol ikan menggunakan metode Most Probable Number (MPN) pada 5 sampel pentol dari pedagang pentol ikan. Hasil pada penelitian ini tidak memenuhi syarat sesuai dengan standar SNI No.7388:2009, dari 5 sampel yang diperiksa terdapat 5 sampel positif Salmonella sp.   Kata Kunci: Escherichia Coli; Pentol; Salmonella sp.

Abstract

  Background: Nutrition education is one of the efforts to improve the nutritional status of children under five. Through nutrition counseling, parents gain knowledge about balanced nutrition and handling nutrition problems. Prupose: To determine the effectiveness of nutrition education on balanced feeding patterns in toddlers 24-59 months in Limboto Health Center. Method: Research using quantitative with quasi experiment design type pretest-posttest control group design. The sample amounted to 30 mothers who had underweight toddlers, selected through purposive sampling technique, 15 people as a treatment group and 15 control groups. Data were analyzed using Independent Sample T-Test test. Results: There was an increase in balanced feeding patterns in the treatment group after being given nutrition education. The average pretest was 48.53 increased to 73.73 in the posttest, with an average difference of 25.20. This indicates a change after education is carried out. Conclusion: Nutrition education is effective on balanced feeding patterns in toddlers 24-59 months in Limboto Health Center, with a significance value (p-value) of 0.000 (Sig. (2-tailed) <0.05), which indicates that the average difference between the two groups. Suggestions, nutrition education needs to be continued regularly to maintain and improve a balanced diet in toddlers. Suggestions: Parents of toddlers are expected to be more active in participating in nutrition education provided by health workers to increase understanding of the importance of balanced feeding.

Abstract

Background: Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem in toddlers characterized by shorter height compared to children of the same age. The formulation of the problem is whether there is a relationship between mother's knowledge about feeding 6-24 months old children and employment status with the incidence of stunting in Limba B Village, Kota Selatan District. Purpose: To determine the relationship between mother's knowledge about feeding 6-24 months old children and employment status with the incidence of stunting in Limba B urban village, South Kota sub-district. Method: This study used quantitative methods using Cross Sectional research design. The sample in this study amounted to 100 respondents, namely mothers who have 6-24 month olds. The sampling technique in the study was purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test Results: The results showed that there was a relationship between maternal knowledge about feeding 6-24 months old children with the incidence in Limba B Village with a p-value = 0.018 <0.05. And there is no relationship between maternal employment status and the incidence of stunting in 6-24 month olds with a p-value = 0.092 > 0.05. Conclusion: There is a relationship between maternal knowledge and the incidence of stunting in Limba B Village with a p-value = 0.018 <0.05. There is no relationship between maternal employment status and the incidence of stunting in toddlers in Limba B Village with a p-value = 0.092 > 0.05.

Abstract

Status gizi adalah ukuran keberhasilan dalam pemenuhan nutrisi untuk seseorang yang diindikasikan oleh berat badan dan tinggi badan seseorang. Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis hubungan penggunaan gadget dan pola tidur dengan status gizi pada siswa kelas 7 SMP Negeri 2 Kota Gorontalo. Jenis penelitian observasional analitik dengan desain penelitian Cross Sectional Study. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas 7 SMP Negeri 2 Kota Gorontalo yang berjumlah 346 siswa. Penentuan jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan rumus slovin sehingga didapatkan sampel berjumlah 185 siswa. Analisis data menggunakan uji statistic Chi-Square. Hasil penelitian penggunaan gadget (p value 0,683), tidak ada hubungan secara signifikan dengan status gizi, pola tidur (p value 0,00), ada hubungan secara signifikan dengan status gizi. Siswa yang pola tidurnya baik cenderung memiliki tingkat aktivitas fisik yang lebih tinggi, yang dapat mendukung keseimbangan energi dan mencegah penambahan berat badan berlebihan. Diharapkan pada pihak sekolah agar memberikan edukasi kepada siswa mengenai dampak negatif penggunaan gadget yang berlebihan dan pentingnya pola tidur yang teratur terhadap status gizi.
