Abstract

Hypertension in the elderlyis caused by changes in the elasticity of the aortic wall decreases, The hear valve thickens and becomes rigid, the heart’s ability to pump blood decreasesby one persent (1)% every year after twenty years of age, the ability of the heart to pump out decreases causing decreased contraction and volume. Besides losing the elasticity of bloodvessels. Research objectives determine the effect of warm water foot bath to decrease blood pressure in elderly hypertensive in Working Area Puskesmas Kolser kecamatan Kei Kecil Maluku Tenggara. This research was conducted using designthis research was conducted using design quasi experiment design pretest and posttest nonequivalent control group, data retrieval technique using saturated sampling were 38 respondents elderly hypertension. Data were collected using observation sheets and spigmomanometer to determine the effect of warm water foot bath. Analysis of studies using paired t-test and independent t test with a level signifiksi α < 0,05. The results showed no significant differences in systolic and diastolic blood pressure before and after the warm water foot bath (p value 0,000 dan p value 0,000). Foot soak using warm water is expected to be an alternative treatment, because it is easily available, cheap and practical.

Abstract

Chronic kidney disease is a disease where the body is not able to maintain metabolism and balance the fluid and electrolytes so which could increase the urea level in the blood. The number of patients with chronic kidney disease in Indonesiahas increased. The management of chronic kidney disease could be done in various ways, including diet, fluid restriction, drugs and renal replacement therapy. This study aims to determine the correlation of patient knowledge about chronic kidney disease with dietary compliance in the Hemodialysis room of RSUD Lawang. This study utilized a non-experimental method that is correlational analysis with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this research were patients with chronic kidney disease who routinely undergo hemodialysis at RSUD Lawang as many as 40 respondents. Data collection wa carried out on 25-30 July 2022 with interviews using a questionnaire and data analysis using the Spearman Rho statistical test. The results showed that almost all of them, namely as many as 34 respondents (85%) had good knowledged about chronic kidney disease and all respondents, namely 40 respondents (100%) were obedient to the chronic kidney disease diet. The test results obtained p-value = 0.000 (α<0.005), it can be concluded that there is a correlationship between patient knowledge about chronic kidney disease and dietary compliance in the Hemodialysis room of RSUD Lawang This research is expected to increase the knowledged and patient complaince in the Hemodialysis room of RSUD Lawang about the chronic kidney disease diet. For health workers, it is expected to further improve education so that patients become obedient to hemodialysis therapy and chronic kidney disease diet so that they can improve the patients quality of life.

Abstract

Sports is a form of physical activity that has a good effect on the level of human physical ability if it is carried out correctly and with direction in the sense that its implementation has been calculated based on the limitations of the human body in facing physical workload and the excess of the human body in facing increasing stress (stress). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about sports and the interest in exercising among the elderly at the 'Aisyiyah Posyandu for the elderly in Sumengko Village, Sukomoro District, Nganjuk Regency. The design in this research is correlation with cross sectional approach. This research was conducted on September 12, 2020, with a population of 122 respondents, a sample of 30 respondents with a purposive sampling technique. The independent variables in this study are knowledge and the dependent variable interest in exercise in the elderly. Data collection using questionnaires, data analysis using the Spearman rank test with SPSS 17 at α = 0.05. The results of the study of 30 respondents, almost all respondents have good knowledge of sports, namely 27 respondents (90%). And the rest have enough interest in exercising, namely 3 respondents (10%). Based on the Spearman rank test, it was found that the p value = 0.000 at α = 0.05 and the value of r = 0.829. Because Ha ≤ α (0.05) then Ha is accepted Ho is rejected. There is a relationship between the level of knowledge and the interest in exercising among the elderly at the 'Aisyiyah Posyandu for the elderly in Sumengko Village, Sukomoro District, Nganjuk Regency, with a very close relationship. Increasing the knowledge of the elderly about the importance of exercising will certainly motivate the elderly to exercise regularly.

Abstract

Background: Mean arterial pressure (MAP) in the context of hypertension was important in understanding the impact of high blood pressure on the elderly. Several pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies are expected to help reduce MAP values in the elderly with hypertension. Soursop leaf tea, rich in antioxidants and potassium, is one of the non-pharmacological therapies that can lower blood pressure in people with hypertension. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving soursop leaf tea on reducing MAP (Mean Arterial Pressure) values in elderly people with hypertension in Simongagrok Village, Dawarblandong District, Mojokerto Regency. Methods: This study used a Pre-Experiment design using the (One-Group Pretest-Posttest) approach. In this study, a population of 19 elderly people in Simongagrok Village was obtained with a sample size of 15 respondents using the Quota Sampling technique. The instruments in this study were a blood pressure meter, observation sheets, and soursop leaf tea. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test. Results: The results of the study before being given treatment showed that 13 respondents (86.7%) experienced hypertension in the category of Mild MAP Value. After being given treatment, 15 respondents experienced hypertension in the category of Normal MAP Value with a percentage of 100%. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon test, a significant value was obtained, namely p ≤ ???? 0.05, namely 0.001 <0.05, which means that ????1 is accepted, so there is an effect of giving soursop leaf tea on reducing MAP (Mean Arterial Pressure) values in elderly people with hypertension in Simongagrok Village, Dawarblandong District, Mojokerto Regency. Conclusion: Giving soursop leaf tea is expected to be one of the independent therapies for nurses in providing non-pharmacological therapy in reducing MAP values in elderly people with hypertension.
