Abstract

The manufacturing industry faces challenges in inventory, including overstock and  material stockouts that require companies to use an efficient inventory strategy. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of the operational material management strategy  in overcoming the problem  of overstock and stockout material packaging in the inventory process at electronic manufacturer company. This study uses a qualitative approach method by collecting data through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using fishbone diagrams to decipher the causative factors and pareto diagrams to identify the main factors. The results of the fishbone analysis  show that data input errors, multiple division of labor, material damage during production, asynchronous communication between the teams involved, lack of supervision, and poor employee rotation are the main causes. In addition, the results of Pareto analysis with (Pareto's law 20-80) the main factors that dominate 80% are in human factors 31%, material 27%, and machine 22%. Based on the results of the research, simple applications can be done by improving communication coordination, increasing the number of employees, conducting regular training, and optimizing the use of technology.

Abstract

Fire disaster is one of the many disasters that occur in the wider community both in the office and residential environment. This fire disaster generally occurs due to human factors such as: using electrical loads that exceed the power capacity and placing flammable items near the source of fire. This fire hazard will be easier to overcome if people know how to put out fires properly and know how to use extinguishers such as APAR (Light Fire Extinguisher) and the use of gunny sacks. APAR is generally categorized into 3 types, namely: Dry Chemical Extinguisher, Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Extinguisher, and Foam. Extinguishers containing dry chemical powder are very commonly used because they are able to extinguish almost all types of fires. The use of APAR is most likely to be used because of its portable nature, easy maintenance, and easy to use. In the community service that has been carried out at Batam State Polytechnic, a demonstration on how to extinguish fire with fire extinguisher and the use of gunny sacks was also carried out. Participants of this community service program are students, vocational school students and vocational school teachers.

Abstract

Abstract

Customer satisfaction represents a critical indicator of service performance and organizational sustainability in service-based industries. In the electric vehicle charging services, customer satisfaction not only reflects customers evaluative judgments of service encounters but also determines their intention to continue usage and maintain long-term relationships with the provider.  This study examines the interconnections among service quality, perceived value, customer experience, trust, and customer satisfaction at SPKLU UB Disyan PLN Batam. The population of this study consists of the people of Batam City, particularly users of the SPKLU UB Disyan PLN Batam service. The study aims to analyze the influence of service quality, perceived value, and customer experience on customer satisfaction, with trust serving as a mediating variable. This research employed a quantitative approach using survey data collected from 155 respondents selected through nonprobability purposive sampling, namely customers who had used the SPKLU service within the last six months. This sampling technique is appropriate because the study requires respondents who have direct experience with SPKLU services, ensuring that the data collected are relevant and reflective of actual service evaluations. Purposive sampling is widely used in service research where specific criteria are necessary to obtain valid and meaningful insights. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares. The results indicate that service quality, perceived value, and customer experience have positive and significant effects on customer satisfaction. These findings emphasize the importance of enhancing service performance and building customer trust to improve customer satisfaction in electric vehicle charging services in Batam City.

Abstract

Effective inventory management is essential to reduce financial losses and maintain the integrity of the production and supply system. The core of this management lies in the organized management of inventory and distribution, collectively known as inventory management. By following standard operating procedures (SOPs), this approach ensures that warehouse operations are streamlined and run according to established guidelines.  Avoiding the loss of goods is critical not only for economic reasons, but also to avoid disruptions in the warehouse and production and delivery processes. Storage management acts as a safeguard against these potential failures. The term encompasses various strategies and practices aimed at optimizing the storage, retrieval and distribution of goods in a warehouse environment. In essence, the emphasis on inventory management is a proactive measure to improve operational efficiency. This involves careful planning and execution and alignment with SOPs to maintain consistency and reliability of warehouse operations. With this approach, companies can not only avoid financial losses associated with misplaced or damaged products, but also promote a smooth workflow in the warehouse.   The key to successful warehouse management lies in its ability to combine best practices, technology and adherence to established procedures. This ensures that the warehouse is operating at  full capacity and meeting production targets and delivery schedules. Ultimately, the synergy between efficient inventory management and SOP adherence forms a solid framework for continued operational success in the dynamic field of warehousing and distribution.
