Abstract

The Person-Centered Therapy (PCT) approach developed by Carl R. Rogers emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness in the counseling process. Within Muslim society, this approach must be integrated with Islamic values so that counseling addresses not only psychological but also spiritual aspects. This literature review analyzes the theory and practice of person-centered group counseling integrated with Islamic principles. By reviewing literature from Rogers, Corey, Palmer, Al-Ghazali, and other scholars, it is found that Islamic integration in PCT emphasizes the balance between human potential (fitrah) and spiritual responsibility toward Allah SWT. Islamic-integrative group counseling serves as a means for individuals to recognize, accept, and develop themselves holistically—emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Values such as sincerity, compassion, repentance, and ukhuwah Islamiyah enrich the counseling process and help shape individuals who are psychologically healthy and spiritually mature.

Abstract

This literature review examines the effectiveness of Islamic-based group counseling services in fostering students’ character development and psychological well-being. The purpose of this study is to synthesize empirical findings from the last decade (2015–2025) regarding how Islamic values integrated into group counseling influence students’ character formation and mental wellness. Data were collected through systematic searches of academic databases and analyzed using a thematic narrative approach. The results show that Islamic-based group counseling significantly enhances students’ self-discipline, responsibility, religiosity, self-efficacy, and self-regulation. Additionally, it promotes greater emotional stability and interpersonal harmony. Despite these promising findings, several studies reported limitations such as small sample sizes, short intervention durations, and limited longitudinal assessments. The novelty of this review lies in its dual focus on both character and psychological well-being under an Islamic counseling paradigm, offering implications for future school counseling practices and research.

Abstract

Adolescents often experience uncertainty and discomfort when discussing puberty due to limited knowledge, social stigma, and the lack of safe learning environments. Interactive visual media offers potential to simplify complex biological concepts while encouraging open communication. This community service program aimed to enhance adolescents’ understanding of puberty and their confidence in discussing related topics through an engaging, interactive educational intervention. The program employed a participatory pretest–posttest design involving 14 adolescents aged 12–15 years. Activities included visual flash cards, scenario discussions, group-based learning tasks, and reflection sessions. A structured questionnaire measured knowledge and confidence before and after the intervention. Quantitative data (pretest–posttest scores and N-gain) were analyzed descriptively, while qualitative observations captured behavioral and communicative changes during sessions. Findings showed a substantial improvement in puberty knowledge, with mean scores increasing from 66.71 to 108.42 and an N-gain of 0.50. Observational data also indicated enhanced confidence, greater willingness to speak, improved peer interaction, and reduced hesitation when discussing sensitive issues. Participants reported feeling more supported and emotionally prepared to understand puberty-related changes. The integration of visual-interactive media supported cognitive processing in line with multimedia learning theories, while collaborative activities aligned with social constructivist principles. The safe learning environment created by facilitators also helped reduce emotional barriers, consistent with adolescent psychosocial development literature. These factors collectively strengthened both cognitive and psychosocial outcomes. Interactive visual media effectively improved adolescents’ understanding and confidence regarding puberty.

Abstract

Technological development Academic integrity is the main foundation in the development of science, but cases of plagiarism in scientific articles remain a serious challenge among students, especially during the transition period of higher education. This scientific article aims to develop and implement an artificial intelligence (AI)-based training program for new students to improve their understanding and skills in detecting and reducing plagiarism practices, and measure the effectiveness of the training in increasing students' awareness, knowledge, and technical abilities in producing original scientific works. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design approach. The results showed significant improvements in all measured aspects: conceptual knowledge of plagiarism increased by 45%, the ability to identify potential plagiarism in text increased by 62%, and the similarity index in student assignment articles decreased on average from 32% to 11%. The study's conclusions confirm that structured AI training effectively improves the academic integrity of freshmen by equipping them not merely as passive users of detection tools, but as intelligent and ethical writers capable of leveraging AI to strengthen the originality of their work.
