Abstract

Background: Patient satisfaction is a crucial measure of health service performance. The fluctuations in this level of accomplishment can serve as empirical evidence for developing quality and patient safety programs. This study seeks to assess and analyse demographic characteristics, the degree of patient satisfaction, and the relationship between respondent characteristics and satisfaction at three orthopedic surgery wards over a span of three time periods: 2021 to 2023. Methods: This study employs a quantitative research methodology adopting a descriptive comparative technique. The independent variables of this study were time period, quality dimensions, and patient characteristics. The dependent variable of this study was patient satisfaction. The data were examined using Kruskal-Wallis’s analysis, the central tendency, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The study showed that the level of patient satisfaction has increased every year (p-value = 0.005), with no significant difference between the three wards (p-value = 0.893). Also, there is no significant correlation with patient satisfaction for each year (p-value > 0.05). Nevertheless, the findings of this study indicate that age significantly influences patient satisfaction in 2021 (p-value = 0.021) and 2023 (p-value = 0.007). Conclusion: It is recommended this research be expanded by exploring other patient characteristic variables and exploring the key elements that significantly influence patient satisfaction in many patient care settings.

Abstract

Background: Infection prevention strategies, such as applying the bundle's principle, play a vital role in surgical wound care. However, limited studies assess nurse compliance with these standards. Investigating compliance is crucial to understanding its impact on post-operative wound infection. This study examines how nurse adherence to the bundle's principle influences wound infection during the healing process. Methods: A before-and-after study was conducted at a second-level hospital in Indonesia over three months. Using total sampling, 100 nurses meeting inclusion criteria (adults with over one year of experience and training in bundle strategies) participated. Patients were selected through accidental sampling and included adults with non-infectious surgical wounds and no complications. The bundle's principle was implemented from the third to the sixth postoperative day, with infection signs assessed afterward. Instruments included demographic data, compliance checklists, and wound infection assessments. Data were analyzed using logistic regression. Results: Gender did not significantly affect wound infection occurrence (OR 0.39, *P* = 0.092). Nurse compliance and work length showed a significant association with infection prevention (OR 4.47, *P* = 0.006). Educational background was not significantly associated with compliance (OR 2.11, *P* = 0.409). Conclusion: Nurses' compliance with the bundle's principle significantly reduces post-operative wound infections, promoting effective healing. Factors like gender, work length, and educational background contribute equally to post-operative wound care outcomes.

Abstract

Background: The professionalism of health worker care plays an important role in increasing nurse and patient satisfaction. Negative responses to services indicate that performance is not optimal, one of which is caused by the role of health workers in care giving. Professional nursing care methods can increase patient satisfaction, but have not been applied in many services, so a pilot project is needed to apply these methods and analyze their impact. Purpose: To develop a health service model with a professional nursing approach based on team methods. Method: Quantitative research with a mix-method method, conducted at TK.III Slamet Riyadi Hospital, Surakarta in August 2024 - March 2025. The independent variable is the professional health service model, and the dependent variable is nurse and patient satisfaction. The sampling technique used accidental sampling with a total sample of 296 participants. Data analysis used univariate in the form of frequency distribution and bivariate using wilcoxon and mann whitney tests. Results: There was a statistically significant difference in nurse satisfaction before and after the MAKP intervention (Z = -4.377, p = 0.001), as well as a significant difference in patient satisfaction between the intervention and control groups (p = 0.001), with the Mean Rank of the intervention group (190.50) higher than the control group (106.50). These findings indicate that the MAKP intervention is effective in increasing satisfaction in both nurses and patients. Conclusion: The Team Method Professional Nursing Care Model is effective in improving patient and nurse satisfaction. Its implementation is shown to create structured, responsive, and patient-focused care, while establishing a supportive work environment for nurses.   Keywords: Health Care Model; Nursing Professionalism; Team Method.   Pendahuluan: Profesionalisme pelayanan tenaga kesehatan berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kepuasan perawat dan pasien. Respon negatif terhadap pelayanan menunjukkan bahwa kinerja belum optimal, salah satunya disebabkan oleh peran tenaga kesehatan dalam pemberian layanan. Metode asuhan keperawatan profesional dapat meningkatkan kepuasan, namun belum banyak diterapkan di beberapa layanan, diperlukan pilot project untuk mengaplikasikan metode ini dan menganalisis dampaknya. Tujuan: Untuk mengembangkan model pelayanan kesehatan dengan pendekatan profesionalisme keperawatan berbasis metoda tim. Metode: Penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode mix-method, dilaksanakan di Rumah Sakit TK.III Slamet Riyadi, Surakarta pada bulan Agustus 2024 – Maret 2025. Variabel independen dalam penelitian ini adalah model pelayanan kesehatan professional, sedangkan variabel dependen adalah kepuasan perawat dan pasien. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan accidental sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 321 partisipan. Analisis data yang digunakan univariat dalam bentuk distribusi frekuensi dan bivariat menggunakan uji wilcoxon dan mann whitney. Hasil: Menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan secara statistik pada tingkat kepuasan perawat sebelum dan sesudah intervensi Metode Asuhan Keperawatan Profesional (MAKP) (Z = -4.377, p = 0.001), serta perbedaan signifikan tingkat kepuasan pasien antara kelompok intervensi dan kontrol (p = 0.001), dengan mean rank kelompok intervensi (190.50) lebih tinggi dari kelompok kontrol (106.50). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa intervensi MAKP efektif meningkatkan kepuasan baik pada perawat maupun pasien. Simpulan: Model asuhan keperawatan profesional metode tim efektif meningkatkan kepuasan pasien dan perawat. Penerapannya terbukti menciptakan pelayanan yang terstruktur, responsif, dan berfokus pada kebutuhan pasien, sekaligus membentuk lingkungan kerja yang mendukung bagi perawat.   Kata Kunci: Metoda Tim; Model Pelayanan Kesehatan; Profesionalisme Keperawatan.

Abstract

Program kemitraan komunitas ini dilakukan dengan tujuan membimbing, dan melatih para mitra yaitu kelompok penderita osteoartritis (OA) dan masyarakat yang berisiko untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup. Metode yang digunakan adalah bersama dengan mitra yaitu kader kesehatan dan masyarakat, mengidentifikasi kelompok sasaran dan menciptakan home based untuk pusat terapi. Tim kemitraan ini melatih para penderita OA dengan teknik relaksasi, senam osteoarthritis, dan pendidikan kesehatan mengenai diet dan kontrol emosional. Sebelum kegiatan dilakukan, tim kemitraan melakukan pemerikasaan laboratorium asam urat dan gula darah sewaktu. Alat pemeriksaan yang digunakan adalah easy touch dan stik, media komunikasi yang digunakan adalah modul, leaflet, audiovisual, dan poster. Jumlah peserta pengabdian ini adalah 100 orang ysng kemudian teridentifikasi OA menjadi 52 orang. Hasil kegiatan ini terdiri dari gambaran hasil asam urat, gula darah, gambaran nyeri, tingkat pengetahuan yang meningkat pada mitra yaitu rata-rata nilai pre-test 55,27 menjadi 72,10; Peningkatan ketrampilan mitra yaitu mampu memperagakan senam OA dan teknik relaksasi secara mandiri.Kata Kunci: Pemberdayaan masyarakat, pelatihan, pendampinganPsychosocial Therapy for Osteoarthritis in the CommunityABSTRACTThe purpose of the community partnership program was guiding of partner to train them who are groups of osteoarthritis (OA ) sufferers and communities that risk to improve quality of life . The method of this activity including built home based therapy centers and then trained OA sufferers used relaxation techniques, osteoarthritis exercises, and health education on diet and emotional control. Before the activity was carried out, the partnership team conducted a laboratory test of uric acid detection and blood sugar level. The examination was used easy touch tools and sticks . the medium of display was used modules, leaflets, audiovisual, and posters. The number of participants of this activity was initially 100 people, next, was identified 52 participant with OA. The results of this activity consisted of a description of the results of uric acid level, blood sugar level, a description of pain, an increased level of knowledge at partners that the average score of 55.27 to 72.10; Enhancing partner skills is able to demonstrate OA exercises and relaxation techniques independently.Keywords: Community empowerment, training program, coaching, mentoring.

Abstract

Management in Abason Village by activity implementers is not yet fully effective. This can be seen in the Village Fund planning process, the community has not fully participated or the community has not been involved enough in both the planning and implementation processes. The process of organizing the structure and management of village funds is not yet optimal because their human resources are determined not to match their capabilities In the actuating process in moving village officials to complete their duties and responsibilities in accordance with community needs, the programs implemented have not run optimally, such as development programs that have not been on target. And the controlling process is still weak, this can be indicated by the transparency of the Village government which is still closed, resulting in a lot of criticism from the community.

Abstract

Hydroponics is a solution for urban agriculture with limited land, but the use of the expensive rockwool as a growing medium increases production costs. This study aims to analyze the utilization of lettuce root waste product as an alternative for growing medium in hydroponic lettuce cultivation (Lactuca sativa L.) and its effect on plant growth and farming cost efficiency. The research method used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments: P0 (100% rockwool as growing medium), P1 (50% rockwool + 50% lettuce root waste), P2 (50% lettuce root waste + 50% rockwool), and P3 (100% lettuce root waste). Observed variables included plant height, leaf area, fresh weight, and business feasibility analysis (R/C ratio, B/C ratio, ROI, and payback period). Results showed that P3 produced the highest growth in leaf area (78.12 cm²) and fresh weight (133 g), along with a 7% reduction in variable costs compared to P0. Financial analysis indicated an R/C ratio of 2.48 and ROI of 33%, demonstrating business feasibility. In conclusion, lettuce root waste is a viable alternative growing medium that enhances productivity and farming cost efficiency. Further research is recommended to test this innovation on other crops and promote its adoption among hydroponic farmers.

Abstract

Abstrak Latar Belakang: Skizofrenia adalah salah satu gangguan jiwa berat yang berdampak signifikan pada pikiran, perilaku, dan emosi. Halusinasi merupakan gejala positif yang sering muncul yaitu terganggunya persepsi sensori pada pasien. Salah satu tipe halusinasi adalah halusinasi pendengaran yang menjadi tipe halusinasi yang paling banyak. Laporan kasus ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan intervensi terapi menggambar pada pasien halusinasi. Gambaran kasus: Seorang laki-laki berusia 53 tahun sudah menikah dibawa ke RSJ oleh keluarganya dengan alasan pasien sering berbicara sendiri, mondar mandir. Pasien mengatakan mendengar suara yang mengajaknya berbicara terus-menerus. Hal itu membuatnya kesal dan mengamuk. Saat ini pasien mengatakan lebih senang sendirian dan kurang berminat untuk berbicara dengan orang lain. Metode: Pengelolaan kasus melalui pendekatan proses keperawatan dengan diberikan intervensi berdasarkan Evidence based Practice (EBP) yaitu terapi menggambar. Intervensi diberikan sehari sekali selama empat hari berturut-turut. Jenis menggambar yang diaplikasikan bertahap dari pengenalan halusinasi yang dialami, perasaan atau emosi yang dirasakan, dan harapan atau cita-cita yang ingin dicapai. Hasil: Tanda dan gejala halusinasi menurun dibuktikan dengan pasien sudah tidak berjalan mondar mandir, tidak berbicara terus-menerus, dan dapat membedakan yang nyata dan tidak nyata. Pada mulanya halusinasi muncul setiap saat saat pasien sendirian, setelah diberikan intervensi halusinasi muncul sehari 3 kali saja saat pasien bangun tidur. Respon marah membaik setelah diberikan intervensi menjadi tidak mudah tersinggung dan tidak marah tanpa sebab lagi. Sebelum intervensi menunjukkan sikap pasien mudah tersinggung, bersikap curiga, sering mengamuk dan marah tanpa sebab. Interaksi sosial pasien terjalin membaik setelah diberikan intervensi pasien mau berbaur dengan teman sekamarnya, memiliki kontak mata saat diajak bicara dan pandangan menghadap ke lawan bicara. Awalnya sebelum diberikan intervensi pasien menarik diri dari lingkungan sekitar memiliki tatapan mata yang kosong, sering melamun, dan pandangan selalu menghadap ke bawah.Pada saat terapi menggambar sesi satu sampai sesi tiga pasien dapat menggambarkan halusinasinya, perasaannya dan harapannya di masa depan. Kesimpulan: Terapi menggambar efektif untuk penurunan tanda gejala hausinasi dan mengontrol halusinasi. Kata Kunci: Halusinasi Pendengaran, Skizofrenia, Terapi Menggambar Abstrack Background: Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder that has a significant impact on thoughts, behavior and emotions. Hallucinations are positive symptoms that often appear, namely disruption of sensory perception in patients. One type of hallucination is auditory hallucination which is the most common type of hallucination. This case report aims to prove drawing therapy intervention in patients with hallucinations. Case description: A 53 years old married man was brought to RSJ by his family on the grounds that the patient often talked to himself, pacing back and forth. The patient said he heard a voice that kept him talking. This made him annoyed and angry. Currently the patient says he prefers to be alone and is less interested in talking to other people. Method: Case management through a nursing process approach with intervention based on Evidence Based Practice (EBP), namely drawing therapy. Intervention was given once a day for four consecutive days. This type of drawing is applied in stages from the recognition of the hallucinations experienced, the feelings or emotions felt, and the hopes or ideals to be achieved. Results: Signs and symptoms of hallucinations decreased as evidenced by the patient no longer pacing back and forth, not talking continuously, and being able to distinguish between what is real and what is not real. At first the hallucinations appeared all the time when the patient was alone, after being given intervention the hallucinations appeared only 3 times a day when the patient woke up. The angry response improved after being given the intervention, becoming less irritable and no longer angry for no reason. Before the intervention, the patient showed that he was irritable, suspicious, often had tantrums and was angry for no reason. The patient's social interactions improved after being given the intervention. The patient wanted to mingle with his roommates, had eye contact when spoken to and looked at the person he was talking to. Initially, before the intervention was given, the patient withdrew from the surrounding environment, had a blank gaze, often daydreamed, and his gaze was always facing downwards. During drawing therapy sessions one to three, the patient was able to describe his hallucinations, feelings and hopes for the future. Conclusion: Drawing therapy is effective for reducing signs of thirst and controlling hallucinations. Keywords: Auditory Hallucinations, Schizophrenia, Drawing Therapy

Abstract

Background: Mental disorders require a long treatment which has an impact on the family's physical and psychological burden. Psychoeducation in the family becomes crucial to reduce stress on caregivers. Limited case studies still focus on providing therapy to families of mentally ill patients. This case reports aims to provide an overview and discourse on colleagues about how stress management is given to families with parents with mental disorders. Case presentation: A 32-year-old woman cares a mother with Schizophrenia. The woman was a main care provider in the family that complaint was anxiety at the thought of her mother suffering from a severe mental illness. Symptoms that appear in these women are sleep disturbances, headaches for a while, and difficulty concentrating. Examination of vital signs revealed normal pulse, blood pressure and body temperature. Stress management applied to these women is to provide progressive muscle relaxation therapy. The training was carried out at the family home for two activities, then the family was asked to do independent for one month. The achievement of stress management was measured using the Parenting Stress Scale between before and after relaxation exercises. There is a difference scores between before and after training from 81 to 72 but not significant. This is probably due to unresolved social support, one of which is stigma from neighbors. Conclusions: Relaxation technique procedures for severe mental illness caregivers have been successfully applied and have an effect on reducing stress levels, but there is no significant difference.Abstrak: Latar Belakang: Gangguan jiwa memerlukan penanganan yang lama yang berdampak pada beban fisik dan psikis keluarga. Psikoedukasi dalam keluarga menjadi sangat penting untuk mengurangi stres pada pengasuh. Studi kasus yang berfokus pada pemberian terapi kepada keluarga pasien gangguan jiwa masih terbatas. Laporan kasus ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran dan wacana kepada sejawat tentang bagaimana manajemen stres diberikan pada keluarga dengan orang tua dengan gangguan jiwa. Presentasi kasus: Seorang wanita berusia 32 tahun merawat seorang ibu dengan Skizofrenia. Wanita tersebut adalah pemberi perawatan utama dalam keluarga yang mengeluhkan kecemasan karena memikirkan ibunya menderita gangguan jiwa kronis. Gejala yang muncul pada wanita tersebut adalah gangguan tidur, sakit kepala sesaat, dan sulit berkonsentrasi. Pemeriksaan tanda-tanda vital menunjukkan denyut nadi, tekanan darah dan suhu tubuh normal. Manajemen stres yang diterapkan pada wanita tersebut adalah dengan memberikan terapi relaksasi otot progresif. Pelatihan dilakukan di rumah keluarga selama dua kali, kemudian keluarga diminta untuk berlatih mandiri selama satu bulan. Pencapaian manajemen stres diukur dengan menggunakan Parenting Stress Scale antara sebelum dan sesudah latihan relaksasi. Ada perbedaan skor antara sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan dari 81 menjadi 72 tetapi tidak signifikan. Hal ini kemungkinan karena dukungan sosial yang belum terselesaikan, salah satunya adalah stigma dari tetangga. Kesimpulan: Prosedur teknik relaksasi pada caregiver gangguan jiwa berat telah berhasil diterapkan dan berpengaruh dalam menurunkan tingkat stres, namun tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan pengkatagorian pasien dengan metode simulasi terhadap tingkat pengetahuan perawat di rumah sakit jiwa. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah preeksperimental before after study. Jumlah sampel yang terlibat 68 perawat dengan kriteria minimal berlatar belakang sarjana dan sudah bekerja satu tahun. Kuesioner tingkat pengetahun berjumlah 20 item dengan rentang jawaban satu dan dua yang kesimpulan akhirnya menggunakan tiga area presentil yaitu baik, cukup dan kurang. Kuesioner diberikan pada responden sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan ceramah dan simulasi yaitu praktik bersama mengkatagorikan pasien berdasar kasus gangguan jiwa. Uji statistik yang digunakan adalah Wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa rata-rata tingkat pengetahuan sebelum pelatihan 31,3 dan sesudah pelatihan 72,1; Selanjutnya uji perbedaan tingkat pengetahuan mempunyai probability -7,281 dengan nilai siknifikansi 0,001 yang bisa disimpulkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan setelah intervensi; oleh karena itu disarankan bahwa dalam pelatihan di bidang keperawatan selain ceramah sebaiknya dikombinasi dengan metode simulasi.

Abstract

Storytelling is an activity to develop emotions, morals and motivation that creates feelings of joy by providing real examples in the imagination so that someone will more easily absorb and understand the content of the story being told. The aim of this research is to determine the response to storytelling therapy through focus group discussions in depressed patients. This research uses quantitative research with a narrative descriptive approach. The sample for this research consisted of 20 respondents using a non-probability sampling method. Based on the results of research from 20 respondents, it was found that the response to storytelling therapy through focus group discussions was that the majority of patients were able to open up, namely 10 respondents (50%). The conclusion of this research is that all respondents had different responses when given therapy, including being confused, closing themselves off, and being able to open up.
