Abstract

AbstractGenerally, teenagers in an orphanage have had problems with their environment,friends, and society. So that they have low optimism in facing their future. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between social support and optimism for the future of adolescents in the Salatiga Islamic orphanage. The research subjects were adolescents at the Salatiga Islamic orphanage who were taken using a purposive sampling technique with a total of 120 subjects, consisting of 52.5% boys and 47.5% girls. The data was collected using a social support scale and a future optimism scale. Data analysis was processed using statistical regression analysis techniques. The analysis showed a significant positive relationship between social support and optimism for the future of adolescents in the orphanage. Abstrak Remaja di panti asuhan pada umumnya pernah mempunyai masalah terhadaplingkungannya, teman, dan masyarakat. Sehingga mempunyai optimisme yangrendah dalam menghadapi masa depannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara dukungan sosial dan optimisme masadepan remaja di panti asuhan Islam Salatiga. Subyek penelitian adalah remajadi panti asuhan Islam Salatiga yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknikpurposive sampling dengan jumlah subjek 120 orang, terdiri atas 52,5% remajalaki-laki dan 47,5% remaja perempuan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan denganmenggunakan skala dukungan social dan skala optimisme masa depan. Analisisdata diolah dengan teknik statistik analisis regresi. Hasil analisis menunjukkanhubungan positif signifikan antara dukungan sosial dan optimism masa depanremaja di panti asuhan.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic or in Javanese terms "pageblug" has caused problems experienced by people in Indonesia, especially the Javanese. Problems that arise must be handled appropriately so as not to have a negative impact on people's daily lives, one effective way is with a coping strategy. This research uses qualitative methods to understand the meaning of social phenomena experienced by individuals or communities with the focus of the research on coping strategies for the Javanese society affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The data collection technique in this research used an open ended-questions regarding coping strategies distributed through google form media. The subjects of this research amounted to 100 Javanese respondents who live in the residency of Surakarta (Surakarta City, Karanganyar Regency, Sragen Regency, Wonogiri Regency, Sukoharjo Regency, Klaten Regency, and Boyolali Regency) for at least 2 years, which are divided into 2 categories of adult respondents, 76 early-adult respondents and 24 middle-adult respondents. The data that has been obtained were analyzed using thematic analysis. The results of this research show that the coping strategies implemented by the Javanese society during the COVID-19 pandemic are: Never Give Up (Tangguh), Obey the Rules (Tumut), Be Patient, Grateful and Accept the Situation (Narimo ing pandum), Calm & Not Anxious, Maintain Health, and Live Frugally (Gemi nastiti). The implementation of coping strategies can be applied by the Indonesian society, especially the Javanese society in dealing with the pandemic.

Abstract

This research aimed to know the effects of the methods of bibliotherapy and discussion on the moral dilemmas in enhancing responsible character. The subjects of the research were 65 students of “AN” divided into three groups; bibliotherapy experimental group, moral discussion experimental group, and non-treatment control group. The research used pretest-posttest-follow-up design. The data of this experimental research were obtained by using a scale of responsible character consisting of aspects of self-control skill, risk-taking for personal choice and seriousness of doing obligation to others. The data were then analyzed using the SPSS.19 software program. The analyzed factors indicated that there were five dimensions shaping students’ responsible character, namely carefulness, task-oriented, excellence, perseverance, and commitment. Based on the hypothesis test through a one-way ANOVA technique, it was concluded that the two methods have an effect on the enchancement of students’ responsible character.

Abstract

The Covid-19 virus that entered Indonesia in early March 2020 made many changes in all joints of life. The field that gets a lot of hope, spotlight, including a lot of ridicule, even stigma is health workers. This study uses a qualitative method, by interviewing 5 Javanese health workers, in November 2021. The results of the research produce 3 themes, namely 1 Causes of stress for health workers are a. a drastic increase in the number of patients b. PPE that makes mobility difficult c. increased workload d. patient behavior e conflict with coworkers f. lack of health facilities 2. Coping Stress of health workers is carried out by: a. patient and calm b. implementation of religious values such as patience and sincerity, c. application of Javanese family values such as: ngalah, nrimo ing pandum, rila, d. refreshing e. share stories, and f. time management. 3. Factors that affect coping, the presence of a. family education values and b. family and social support.

Abstract

Internet addiction can be influenced by family functioning because there are no family members to interact with after school, as well as Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) related to the purpose and timing of internet use because it is easier to get information via the internet compared to asking the teacher or family, as well as a sense of  anxious if you do not know the latest information about something that is happening.  This study aims to determine the correlation between family functioning and Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) with internet addiction in adolescents.  The research subjects were 238 students of junior high school in Sukoharjo using linear regression data analysis techniques.  The results showed that 1) There is a very significant correlation between family functioning and Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) with internet addiction in adolescents; 2) There is a very significant correlation between family functioning and internet addiction, where the higher the family functioning, the internet addiction getting lower; 3) There is a very significant correlation between Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) and internet addiction in adolescents, where the higher the Fear of Missing Out (FoMO), the higher internet addiction will also be higher. Kecanduan internet dapat dipengaruhi oleh faktor keberfungsian keluarga karena tidak adanya anggota keluarga yang bisa diajak berinteraksi sepulang sekolah, serta Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) yang berkaitan dengan tujuan dan waktu penggunaan internet karena mudahnya mendapatkan informasi melalui internet dibandingkan bertanya pada guru atau keluarga, serta rasa cemas apabila tidak mengetahui informasi terbaru mengenai sesuatu yang sedang terjadi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara keberfungsian keluarga dan Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) dengan kecanduan internet pada remaja. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 238 siswa SMP Negeri di Sukoharjo dengan menggunakan teknik analisis data regresi linier. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Terdapat hubungan yang sangat signifikan antara keberfungsian keluarga dan Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) dengan kecanduan internet pada remaja; 2) Terdapat hubungan yang sangat signifikan antara keberfungsian keluarga dengan kecanduan internet, dimana semakin tinggi keberfungsian keluarga, maka kecanduan internet semakin rendah; 3) Terdapat hubungan yang sangat signifikan antara Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) dengan kecanduan internet pada remaja, dimana semakin tinggi  Fear of Missing Out (FoMO), maka kecanduan internet juga akan semakin tinggi.

Abstract

This research focuses on academic stress which is a complex problem for college student in implementing online learning activities during the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on literature review, achievement motivation, adaptability, and social support are thought to be factors that influence college students academic stress. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship: (1) achievement motivation, adaptability, and social support with college student academic stress, (2) achievement motivation with college student academic stress, (3) adaptability with college student academic stress, (4) social support with college student academic stress. This study uses a correlational quantitative approach and the population is college students S1 Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The sampling technique is cluster random sampling. Analysis of the data obtained using multiple regression analysis techniques with the help of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program. The results of this study indicate that: (1) there is a significant relationship between achievement motivation, adaptibility and social support with college student academic stress (p=0,000 ? 0,01), (2) there is a negative and significant relationship between achievement motivation with college student academic stress (rx1y= -0,154, p=0,000 ? 0,01), (3) there is a negative and significant relationship between adaptability with college student academic stress (rx2y= -0,493, p=0,000 ? 0,01), (4) there is a negative and significant relationship between social support with college student academic stress (rx3y= -0,111, p=0,036 ? 0,05).

Abstract

Distance learning has an impact on decreasing university students’ motivation to learn. Meanwhile, learning motivation is fundamental in the distance learning process. Learning motivation correlates with internal factors such as self-efficacy and emotional intelligence and external factors such as parental social support. This study aimed to find alternative factors that support learning motivation and examine the relationship between self-efficacy, emotional intelligence, and parental social support with learning motivation in university students carrying out distance learning during the COVID-9 pandemic. The study used quantitative research with the correlational research type involving undergraduate students at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta with a total of 408 students. The Academic Motivation Scale-Short version (AMS) was used to measure learning motivation, the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) was used to measure self-efficacy, the Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire-Short Form (TEIQUE-SF) was used to measure emotional intelligence, and the parental social support scale compiled by Fitrotin was used to measure parental social support. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression tests. The results of the study found that self-efficacy, emotional intelligence, and parental social support had a relationship with learning motivation. This was indicated by the positive value of Beta=27.284, p-value of 0.000 (p <0.005), the regression (F value) of 36.569, the correlation (R)= 0.467, and the effective contribution to learning motivation of 21.8%. Programs to increase self-efficacy, emotional intelligence, and parental social support are important to increase motivation.

Abstract

The Coping Strategy is a way that is considered effective in overcoming the problems experienced by the Indonesian people during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially the Javanese people. The implementation of the coping strategy will have a positive impact on the lives of the Javanese people in carrying out daily activities. The research method used in this study is qualitative to uncover the meaning of social problems experienced by individuals or communities, with the focus of research being the impact of implementing the coping strategy of the Javanese community during the COVID-19 pandemic. The data collection technique used in this study was an open questionnaire disseminated through the media of google forms. The subjects of this study were 100 respondents of Javanese people with adult categories domiciled in the Surakarta residency area (Surakarta City, Karanganyar Regency, Sragen Regency, Wonogiri Regency, Sukoharjo Regency, Klaten Regency, and Boyolali Regency) for at least two years. The field data that have been obtained are analyzed using thematic analysis. The result of this study is the positive impact felt by the Javanese people after implementing coping strategies during the pandemic, namely changes in each individual and feeling positive feelings. The results of this study provide information to the public that the implementation of coping strategies has a positive impact on carrying out daily activities.

Abstract

Ketrampila mulur-mungkret merupakan kemampuan sikap elastis dalam mengelola stres. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah melakukan pemetaan kondisi psikologis para guru berdasarkan aspek optimisme, kecemasan dan ketangguhan. Selanjutnya para guru akan mengikuti workshop ketrampilan strategi mulur -mungkret sebagai penguatan kapasitas kualitas kepribadian. Pelaksanaan pengabdian ini dilakukan secara virtual dengan media zoom meeting kurang lebih selama 2 jam dengan sasaran guru sejumlah 39 orang. Prosedur pelaksanaannya terdiri dari beberapa tahap, yaitu pemetaan kualitas kepribadian menggunakan skala Rasa, pemberian cerita “lima anak bermain permainan keinginan”, penjelasan materi mekanisme mulur-mungkret, diskusi mengenai keinginan dan pengisian angket tentang keinginan. Hasil pemetaan kondisi psikologis para guru menunjukkan bahwa para guru memiliki rasa optimisme dan ketangguhan serta ketenangan yang tinggi. Pemahanam strategi mulur-mungkret yang disampaikan dapat memperkuat para guru untuk tetap mempertahankan kondisi psikologisnya terutama dalam rasa optimis dan ketangguhan serta mencegah berkembangnya rasa cemas. Selain itu, tergambar juga bahwa kesadaran guru akan kesehatan fisik sudah terbangun dengan baik dengan menerapkan pola hidup sehat seperti yang dihimbau oleh pemerintah dalam hal penerapan prosedur kesehatan yang ketat.
