Abstract

Abstract

Human activities that produce carbon dioxide emissions and are called carbon footprints or carbon footprints have a big role in global warming. As part of its contribution to climate change mitigation efforts and environmental preservation, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science Universitas Negeri Semarang (FMIPA UNNES) has been actively developing conservation policies. The programs developed as an effort to mitigate climate change have been running for a long time. However, so far it is not certain how much CO2 emissions are produced and minimized by FMIPA UNNES. The purpose of this study was to analyze the amount of CO2 emissions produced in the FMIPA environment, to map the carbon footprint (CO2) produced from activities on the Unnes campus, to identify what factors influence CO2 emissions resulting from activities in FMIPA. The research was conducted from May to October 2020. The data obtained were obtained from primary data and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through field surveys, while secondary data were obtained from existing data. The carbon footprint that will be taken is obtained from electronic measurements, waste and transportation. The data instrument was converted into carbon footprint units (grams CO2-ek) using a carbon footprint calculator (Ver 2) developed by IESR. The results showed that the carbon footprint generated from campus activities at FMIPA in 2020 before the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak was 10,670.25 ton CO2-eq / month. This carbon footprint decreased during the pandemic to 4,312.27 ton CO2-eq / month. This total carbon footprint consists of scope one in the form of transportation activities by operational vehicles and use of LPG, scope two of electricity spending activities, scope three in the form of transportation activities by lecturers, staff, and students, use of paper, and waste disposal.

Abstract

Traditionally, the genus Philautus Gistel, 1848 contains small Rhacoporid frogs that lack vomerine teeth and a direct development tadpole stage. In Java, this genus consists of 3 species, including Philautus aurifasciatus, Philautus jacobsoni, and Philautus pallidipes. It is known that Philautus aurifasciatus and Philautus jacobsoni are sympatric species from Mount Ungaran and are morphologically difficult to distinguish. Therefore, information is needed through the phenetic characters of each population in the area to identify differences in their morphology. This study aimed to analyze the morphological characteristics of  Bush Frog Philautus spp. on Mount Ungaran in terms of meristic character through a direct field survey and comparison methods. Furthermore, it was conducted by observing 32 specimens of Philautus spp. from Mount Ungaran and compared with the Philautus aurifasciatus from Mount Gede Pangrango with 18 meristic characters. The results showed that Philautus spp. is similar to Philautus aurifasciatus in terms of their meristic characters. The results of the meristic analysis showed that Philautus spp. has a variety of dorsal colors from brown, purple, green, and gray with two types of patterns including patterned groups (resembling letters H, X, and V) and abstract. Furthermore, the throat, stomach, and lower thighs are granular with three snout shapes (protruding, round, and sloping). It has a loreal oblique tympanum and canthus rostralis. The forelimbs are not webbed while the hindlimbs are half webbed, and the inner metatarsal is an elongated oval in shape. Meristic analysis provides a basis for strengthening the taxonomic status of Philautus spp on Mount Ungaran, as well as information the distribution in Mount Ungaran.

Abstract

Tinjomoyo Tourism Forest Area is located in Sukorejo, Gunungpati sub-district, Semarang has 57.5 hectares with natural potentials, one of them is dragonflies. Dragonflies have an important role because they are a bioindicator for monitoring water quality. The objectives of the study are to analyze dragonflies diversity and describe the feasibility of dragonflies species diversity booklet in Tinjomoyo Tourism Forest used as a supplement of biodiversity material. This study was designed by a modified Research and Development (R&D) research method. The results of observing dragonflies diversity are in three observation lanes in the Tinjomoyo Tourism Forest Area found 27 species, from 7 families of 2 sub-orders with 2 types of which are endemic to the Java island. The overall of index value on the Shannon-Wiener species diversity index scored 2.68, the Evenness index obtained 0.81 and the species dominance index obtained a value of 0.09. The Dragonfly Diversity Booklet that has been developed get very decent criteria to use as supplement material of biodiversity topic for tenth science grade students. The results of the acquisition of 81.82% of material experts and 95.83% of media experts. Teacher responses get a percentage score of 94.44%, responses of students get a percentage of 92% and readability test get a percentage of 92%.
