The purpose of this writing is to analyze the application of mirror therapy to increased muscle strength in stroke patients. The method used is systematic review with search engines elsivier, PubMed, and Proquest. The keywords used are mirror therapy, stroke, and muscle strength. The SLR process step uses PRISMA and produces 8 articles for analysis. The results of the study have been obtained that, the effect of the application of mirror therapy to increase muscle strength, results is a significant difference in motor skills before and after the therapy, this application is effective when performed for 15–30 minutes every 3 times in a week, for 1-2 months or 12-20x exercise in 1-2 months. Mirror therapy can be applied to all stroke patients whether ischemic or hemorrhagic without visual impairment. Therefore, it is expected that mirror therapy can be performed in hospitals or home care as a patient rehabilitation program.

The purpose of this research was to describe the interests and perceptions of students of nursing level 3 working in the health service. The method used a quantitative design with a total sampling of 64 people. The result of this study found that more students were choosing hospitals for their first place of work after graduating from college. This is because according to students, hospitals have many cases of illness so it can sharpen the competence and ability becoming more and more skilled. Thus, educational institutions can enhance cooperation with various hospitals both at home and abroad in an effort to improve the competence and absorption of graduates working in hospitals.

Abstract

The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia has increased every year, West Java is the province with the second highest prevalence of hypertension problems up to 39.6%. One of the risk factors found in hypertension is excess salt in the body caused by an unhealthy lifestyle. One of the non-pharmacological therapies that can be done is giving young coconut water. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving young coconut water on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients in the Urug Health Center work area, Tasikmalaya City. The research method was quantitative with a quasi-experimental method and a one-group pre-test and post-test research design, with all hypertensive patients in the village as many as 618 hypertensive patients and a purposive sampling approach obtained a sample size of 18 people. The provision of young coconut water was carried out for 3 consecutive days with 1 time / day as much as 250 cc every morning. The data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis. The results of the study obtained an average blood pressure value before the intervention was given systolic 162.44 mmHg and diastolic 94.89 mmHg, while after the intervention the average systolic blood pressure was 141.89 mmHg and diastolic 85.11 mmHg. The results of the study showed that there was an effect of giving young coconut water on reducing high blood pressure in hypertensive patients with a p-value of 0.000. The conclusion was that there was an effect of giving young coconut water on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients where potassium helps the body eliminate excess salt through urine. Suggestions are expected that the results of this study can be implemented by further researchers as an alternative therapy for various categories of hypertension.

Abstract

Perceptions and intentions about breastfeeding, especially among adolescents who represent future parents vary widely. Understanding these views is essential for designing impactful health education programs. This study aimed to assess perceptions and intentions toward breastfeeding among adolescents in Bangladesh. Method used a cross-sectional survey conducted on 132 adolescents aged 14-18 years from urban and rural areas of Bangladesh, who were selected through appropriate sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire. Analysis was conducted using a computer program that used descriptive and inferential statistics. Significant relationships were identified between breastfeeding perception and several socio-demographic factors such as class level (t=2.107, p=.037), mother’s education level (t=2.215, p=.029), father’s education level (F=5.189, p=.007), and source of information on breastfeeding (F=4.290, p=.006). Additionally, a positive correlation was found between the number of siblings and breastfeeding perceptions (r=.047, p=.047). On the other hand, no significant relationship between a range of socio-demographic factors and adolescents' intentions regarding breastfeeding in Bangladesh was noticed in this study. P<.05 was used as the significant of this study. It is concluded that educational interventions that address both male and female adolescents, emphasizing the health benefits of breastfeeding and overcoming social barriers, are crucial for promoting a supportive breastfeeding culture.

Abstract

Background: Nurse managers play a crucial role in shaping the quality of nursing care and organizational culture. However, their leadership characteristics often remain implicit and deeply embedded within personal experiences and professional narratives. Archetypal patterns provide a lens to uncover symbolic dimensions of leadership that influence managerial practices in clinical settings. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the leadership characteristics of nurse managers through archetypal patterns using a narrative inquiry approach in clinical practice. Methods: A qualitative narrative inquiry design was employed. Data were collected from [X] nurse managers working in [hospital/clinical setting] through in-depth interviews, reflective journals, and field observations. Narrative data were analyzed thematically, guided by archetypal frameworks (e.g., caregiver, ruler, warrior, sage), to identify underlying leadership patterns. Results: Findings revealed four dominant archetypal patterns shaping nurse managers’ leadership: the Caregiver (emphasizing compassion and protection), the Ruler (prioritizing structure, authority, and decision-making), the Warrior (focusing on resilience and advocacy), and the Sage (highlighting wisdom and reflective practice). These archetypes manifested differently depending on situational demands, organizational context, and personal values. Conclusion: Nurse managers’ leadership is characterized by dynamic interplay between multiple archetypal patterns. Recognizing these patterns provides new insights into leadership development, mentoring, and strengthening clinical governance. Future research should explore archetypal leadership across diverse healthcare contexts to support transformative nursing leadership.

Abstract

Wound care faces increasing challenges due to the growing prevalence of chronic wounds, limited access to wound care specialists, and the need for continuous healthcare services. Smartphone technology provides opportunities to improve access to integrated wound consultation. This study aimed to develop a user-centered smartphone-based Smart Wound Consultation model, identify its essential features, and establish a workflow for wound consultation and digital documentation. A Design Science Research approach with user-centered design principles was employed. The study was conducted in Tasikmalaya, Indonesia, involving four purposively selected experts in information technology, medical-surgical nursing, and wound care. Data were collected through expert discussions and design validation forms and analyzed using thematic analysis. The proposed model integrates six core features: wound screening, medication services, self-care support, homecare services, health education, and educational videos within a single smartphone platform. The workflow includes initial wound assessment, telenursing consultation, treatment recommendations, digital documentation, and referral pathways. Expert validation confirmed the feasibility of the model following minor revisions to medical terminology, screening content, educational materials, and referral mechanisms. The proposed model provides a comprehensive user-centered framework for digital wound consultation and offers a foundation for developing smartphone-based applications to improve access, continuity, and quality of Medical-Surgical Nursing services.
