Abstract

This research seeks to explore the role of Virtual Reality (VR) technology in aiding students to build their speaking skills, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of VR in enhancing these abilities. The study uses a classroom action research approach with a cyclical model across two cycles, each comprising the stages of planning, implementing actions, observing, and reflecting. Data was collected through performance tests and observations, and analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative descriptive statistics. The results reveal that VR implementation significantly improves students' speaking skills. This improvement is demonstrated by the rise in students' average scores across cycles; the first cycle showed an average score of 66.15 with a classical completeness rate of 60%, while the second cycle increased to an average score of 77.3 with a completeness rate of 80%. These findings suggest that VR is an effective tool for enhancing students' speaking proficiency, offering an immersive and interactive learning experience that fosters greater confidence and engagement in language practice.

Abstract

The purpose of service activity is to describe how to create learning materials using various types of text by bringing eco-literacy approach and participants' responses. Our partners encounter a challenge wherein teachers struggle to provide instructional materials aligned with the concept of environmental awareness due to the continued emphasis on teacher-centred learning. The consequence is the students’ cognitive skills remain at a low level, and a lack of interest in environmental matters. Eco-literacy strategies are the solution to develop teachers’ instructional materials that align with the principles of sustainable development and environmental awareness and enhances stuents’ active learning. Workshops and socialization were implemented and 30 primary teachers in Surabaya participated. The instruments were a pre-post-test and a questionnaire. The results indicate that the teachers' comprehension of eco-literacy concept has been enhanced. They can also develop materials and lesson plan based on eco-literacy approach. In addition, nearly all teachers express feelings of enthusiasm and happiness regarding this activity, and 85% indicated they enable creating learning activities. It was concluded that this activity could improve their knowledge regarding the concept of eco-literacy. It is suggested to employ engaging instructional materials to facilitate the realization of SDGs.

Abstract

Storage is a critical process within the pharmaceutical logistics distribution system, involving the placement and maintenance of pharmaceutical preparations and Medical Consumable Materials (BMHP) in designated areas to protect them from theft, physical damage, and environmental factors that may reduce product quality. From an Islamic perspective, medicine storage should not be conducted carelessly, considering that some pharmaceutical ingredients may not be halal and lack halal certification. To minimize the risk of contamination or mixing during storage, proper categorization and labeling based on halal status are essential. This research employed a descriptive methodwith both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Primary data were collected through checklists administered to pharmacy staff and direct observation of the drug storage area. The compliance level of the pharmaceutical logistics storage room at RSJ Soerojo Magelang with the Technical Guidelines for Hospital Pharmaceutical Services (2019)was found to be 80.70% for spatial layout and 81.82% for storage system aspects. However, from the Islamic sharia perspective, the storage system does not meet the requirements, as indicated by a 0% score for halal-based drug classification and labeling. SWOT analysis places RSJ Soerojo in Quadrant I (aggressive strategy), with an IFAS score of 1.26 and an EFAS score of 0.29, indicating strong internal strengths and external opportunities, allowing the hospital to actively pursue strategic development.

Abstract

In Islamic teachings, Muslims are encouraged to make efforts (ikhtiar) in facing various challenges, including when experiencing illness. Self-medication is one form of ikhtiar that is carried out independently to treat mild symptoms using over-the-counter or limited over-the-counter medicines. Rational drug use is key to ensuring the safety and effectiveness of treatment. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines rational drug use as the provision of medicines according to the patient's clinical needs, in the right dose and duration, and at an affordable cost. for Muslims, in addition to rationality, the halal aspect is also an important consideration in the use of medicines. The halal-thayyib principle, as explained in the Qur'an Surah Al-Baqarah verse 168, emphasizes the importance of choosing medicines that are not only safe and effective but also halal. however, the public's level of knowledge about the halal status of medicines is still relatively low. education about halal medicines is highly necessary, especially among Muslims, to increase awareness and understanding. this study aims to determine the level of public knowledge regarding the rational use of medicines based on sharia principles in self-medication practices. the method used is descriptive with a questionnaire instrument distributed directly to respondents. the results show that the majority of respondents understand the concept of rational drug use and prefer to obtain medicines from pharmacies and doctors. in terms of sharia, the understanding of the halal and haram concept in medicines is relatively high, but awareness of ingredients such as gelatin and alcohol remains low. therefore, more intensive education on the halal aspects of medicine use is needed so that Muslims can be more selective in accordance with Islamic law.     Ask ChatGPT
