Abstract

The management of HIV/AIDS with ARV therapy is largely determined by the adherence to PLHIV in consuming ARVs, WHO in 2021 reported that AIDS-related deaths have decreased globally thanks to the use of ARV therapy of 650,000 people living with HIV 68% fewer died from HIV, compared to the peak the number of cases was in 2004, and 52% less than in 2010. People with HIV who are not compliant with taking ARVs either in doses or shifting the time of taking their medication will cause drug resistance, increase in the amount of virus in the body, increase the risk of transmission, decrease the quality of life of PLHIV because it will cause various opportunistic infections. This study aims to analyze factors related to antiretroviral therapy adherence of people living with HIV/AIDS in Makassar City. The research method used is observational research with a cross-sectional study approach. The population and sample were PLWHA who went to hospitals and were under the guidance of HIV/AIDS NGOs. The sample was taken purposively with certain criteria with a total of 80 PLWHA. The results showed that out of 80 PLHIV, 51 PLHIV (63.8%) adhered to taking ARVs with a value of 0.000 ≤ α 0.005, meaning that social support was related to adherence to ARV therapy, while knowledge was not related to adherence to ARV therapy, pValue 0.598 > α 0.05, however if seen from the proportion of 58 PLWHA with sufficient knowledge, 37 PLHIV (46.3%) adhered to ARV therapy. It is recommended for PLWHA to be more open about their disease status and involve HIV NGOs to educate their families and people in their surrounding environment about HIV to reduce stigma and discrimination so that PLWHA can freely seek treatment and get support from their social environment to carry out perfect treatment and improve their quality of life.

Indonesia ranks second in the world in the list of countries with a high tuberculosis burden. There are 19,071 cases of tuberculosis sufferers in South Sulawesi. Makassar City ranks first, namely 9,157 cases of tuberculosis found throughout 2023. The purpose of the study was to emphasize its dual focus on assessing political commitment and policy opportunities. Method: The research design used is quasi-qualitative research and the Mayor of Makassar is the key informant. The data collection technique uses the PCOM-RAT (Political Commitment and Opportunity Measurement-Rapid Assessment Test) survey questionnaire and is continued with in-depth interviews with informants. Result: Measurement of political commitment using the PCOM-RAT questionnaire is divided into three parts, namely verbal commitment, institutional commitment, and budget commitment. The assessment score for the political commitment of the Mayor of Makassar shows good political commitment, with a total political commitment score of 18. Opportunities for developing TB policies can be understood based on three streams, namely problem stream, policy stream, and political stream. The overall assessment score shows that Makassar City has had a high opportunity for developing TB policies, with a total score of 29. Conclusion: The Mayor of Makassar has a high political commitment in the TB elimination policy in Makassar City. High political commitment from a Regional Head is an opportunity for the success of implementing a program. Political commitment is the desire to act and continue to act until the job is done. A leader who has a high political commitment to tuberculosis will resolve the tuberculosis problem until it is finished. Abstract

Access to health services in Indonesia is still a problem. This is influenced by the fact that health facilities in Indonesia are pretty numerous, but their distribution is not evenly distributed. This impacts the ease of access and provision of health services. Based on the results of observations conducted by researchers, the geographical access that affects access to health services at the Seko Health Center includes the condition of the road infrastructure to the Seko Health Center in an unsuitable condition, physical obstacles such as public transportation to the Health Center. The utility of the Health Center in the physical condition of the Health Center building is poor and requires renovation, and the availability of human resources is inadequate. This study aims to determine the factors that affect access to health services at the Seko Health Center. The type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional study approach. The sample size used was 220 respondents. The analysis was carried out univariately and bivariately using the chi-square test with a significance level of ρ = <0.05. The study's results stated a relationship between geographical obstacles and access to health services, with a p-value = 0.021 <0.005. There is an influence between physical barriers and access to health services with a p-value = 0.015 <0.05. There is no influence between inpatient utility and access to health services with a p-value = 0.094 <0.05, and there is an influence between the availability of human resources and access to health services with a p-value = 0.030 <0.05. This study concludes that there is a relationship between the three variables, namely geographical barriers, physical barriers, and availability of human resources, and there is no influence on the inpatient utility variable. This study suggests further improving facilities and infrastructure to make it easier for people to access health services, especially in remote areas.
