Abstract

Sebagai mahasiswa perlu adanya penguatan dan kemampuan menulis karya ilmiah guna  berlatih membuat artikel ilmiah sebagai tugas tingkat akhir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kemampuan mahasiswa menyusun sistematika penulisan, kemampuan menulis isi artikel ilmiah serta kesulitan mahasiswa dalam publikasi dan penulisan artikel ilmiah. Pendekatan penelitian adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Sumber data adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan di Universitas Pembinaan Masyarakat Indonesia. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian adalah wawancara dan tes hasil tulisan artikel ilmiah mahasiswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah model Miles and Huberman dengan langkah-langkah yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari kemampuan menyusun sistematika artikel ilmiah sebanyak 30 mahasiswa atau 80% dikategorikan dapat menulis sistematika artikel ilmiah namun 5 mahasiswa atau 14% dikategorikan perlu bimbingan. Kedua, berdasarkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menulis isi artikel ilmiah pada penulisan judul, abstrak, metode penelitian, kesimpulan dan daftar pustaka mahasiswa lebih dari 75% mampu menulis. Namun pada penulisan pendahuluan, hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, mahasiswa masih perlu bimbingan dikarenakan kurang dari  75% yang dapat menulis dengan baik.

Abstract

Foreign Language Reading Anxiety (FLRA) becomes increasingly crucial for EFL students since it prevents the learners' reading grasp. This study reports on college students’ reflections on reading. The study's main objective was to determine students' reading anxiety levels and discover the most potential factors contributing to students’ Foreign Language Reading Anxiety (FLRA) in TOEFL Test. It was administered to 22 students of the English Department in Universitas Pembinaan Masyarakat Indonesia using purposive sampling in the academic year 2022/2023. To achieve this purpose, this study utilized both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The data were collected using a Foreign Language Reading Anxiety Scale (FLRAS) questionnaire with five-point Likert scale participants and an interview sheet to examine the levels of their reading anxiety and its factors. The results demonstrate that the student's reading anxiety levels were 18% in the low category, 64% in the medium category, and 18% in the high category. It indicates that they experienced a medium level of anxiety while reading with unfamiliar vocabulary and unknown topics, and the fear of making mistakes was identified as the significant factor of FL reading anxiety.

Abstract

Pengembangan Digital Storytelling Berbasis Artificial Intelligence (AI) memiliki potensi besar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Penerapan teknologi ini berpotensi meningkatkan kemampuan literasi mahasiswa karena menggunakan media teknologi yang menarik minat mahasiswa. Selain itu, elemen interaktif mendorong berpikir kritis dengan mendorong mahasiswa untuk menganalisis cerita. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development dengan model ADDIE. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, angket, dan tes pada mahasiswa. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan digital storytelling berbasis AI efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi (membaca) dengan meningkatkan pemahaman bacaan dan keterampilan menganalisis. Dari penilaian secara keseluruhan dapat diperoleh penilaian akseptansi media sebesar 4,62 dan dapat dikategorikan “Sangat Tinggi”, dalam arti dapat diterima dengan sangat baik oleh mahasiswa. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa media berbasis digital storytelling dapat digunakan sebagai media pada proses pembelajaran. Selain itu, mahasiswa juga menunjukkan peningkatan dalam berpikir kritis melalui kemampuan mereka dalam merumuskan argumen berdasarkan cerita. Penggabungan antara digital storytelling dan AI dapat menjadi sarana yang inovatif dan menarik dalam meningkatkan literasi dan berpikir kritis mahasiswa.

Abstract

The application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in teaching and learning activities has a major influence in improving the quality of education, especially in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 as it is today. Classpoint is a learning platform that supports IT-based learning activities. This study aims to determine the application of Classpoints in learning English at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Karanganyar on elevent grade in the academic year 2021/2022. The research approach is qualitative research, case study research. The method that used to collect data is observation, interviews, and documentation. The methods used to analyze the data are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. To test the validity of the data used data triangulation, method triangulation, and source triangulation. The results of research on the three subjects can be seen that the application of classpoint is very effective for learning English

Abstract

Pelatihan ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam manajemen organisasi bagi Pengurus Masjid Nurul Huda desa Hulim Kecamatan Sosopan. Hal ini bertujuan agar para pengurus dapat bekerja sama secara efisien dan terencana sesuai dengan tugas pokok dan fungsi untuk mencapai tujuan organisasi. Kegiatan ini dimaksudkan untuk memberikan pemahaman tentang manajemen masjid yang dapat mengakomodasi perubahan dalam masyarakat yang berkembang. Kami juga ingin membantu Pengurus Masjid Nurul Huda dalam Menyusun struktur organisasinya dengan baik, dengan usaha sekecil mungkin namun menghasilkan hasil maksimal. Pelatihan dimulai dengan penjelasan tentang konsep dasar manajemen, termasuk empat fungsi manajemen yaitu Perencanaan, Pengorganisasian, Pelaksanaan, dan Pengendalian. Pelatihan ini di akhiri dengan membantu pengurus masjid untuk Menyusun struktur organisasi masjid. Kami berharap melalui pelatihan ini, proses manajemen di masjid Nurul Huda dapat berjalan lancar, dan pengurus serta anggota organisasi dapat memahami tugas mereka serta prinsip-prinsip manajemen organisasi. Kegiatan pelatihan ini akan menekankan pada pengalaman langsung dan praktik dalam mengelola organisasi sehingga pengurus dan anggota masjid dapat mempraktekkan konsep manajemen yang telah dipelajari.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kurangnya motivasi belajar matematika anak taman kanak-kanak di TK Daarul Istiqlal Marendal. Siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam pembelajaran mata pelajaran matematika.dan Kurangnya penerapan metode pengajaran bahasa Inggris yang bervariasi membuat minat anak-anak terhadap bahasa Inggris menjadi minim. matematika dan Bahasa inggris bagi anak TK Daarul Istiqlal Marendal. Pembinaan pembelajaran matematika anak taman kanak-kanak di TK Daarul Istiqlal Marendal berisi yang sifatnya memberikan bantuan, nasihat, dorongan dan kesempatan bagi anak anak untuk termotivasi dalam belajar. Tahapan kegiatan pembinaan yang dilakukan yaitu: 1) Tahap Persiapan, 2) Tahap Pelaksanaan Pembinaan. Metode kegiatan pembinaan yang dilaksanakan yaitu: 1) Metode ceramah, 2) Metode tanya jawab, 3) Metode latihan atau praktik. Berdasarkan hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian disimpulkan bahwa: 1) Meningkatnya motivasi belajar siswa, 2) Meningkatnya kemampuan siswa dalam mencari hasil suatu penjumlahan dan penguran matematika mengunakan jarimatika. 3) meningkatkan kemampuan anak untuk mengenalkan bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

The right learning model is one of the keys to success in learning. The integrative thematic learning model is a model that combines two subjects where in this service activity was carried out the preparation of physical subjects for language teaching, especially foreign languages such as English. This service activity was carried out with the aim of introducing an integrative thematic learning model of physical education in learning English vocabulary so that students can improve their mastery of the language. Located at SD Adhyaksa Medan as an activity partner, assisting in learning English through sports education. The participants in this activity were students who were at the elementary level and carried out using an integrative thematic learning model. Before and after the implementation of the activity, interviews were conducted and the results showed an increase in the participants' interest in learning English vocabulary after being combined with physical activity. Furthermore, the results of the evaluation include the expectation that teachers can develop this learning model in other subjects for variations in teaching.

Abstract

Public speaking is a skill that everyone, including students, should have to increase their self-confidence. Public speaking cannot be avoided since basically humans often have to do it with various purposes. However, many students feel unable to speak in public because they lack confidence, don't master the material, or don't understand how to do it. This community service activity aims to do learning assistance for public speaking to increase the self-confidence of students at Gajah Mada Middle School, Medan. The methods used were direct lecturer, simulations and interactive discussions regarding the basics of public speaking, effective and good communication techniques, and various tips for developing yourself, especially in terms of public speaking. During the learning assistance, participants received basic material and public speaking techniques as well as direct practice. Meanwhile, the research used qualitative method for collecting data. As for the research results, the community service recommends the following: 1) Add extra hours to improve students’ English speaking, 2) Add contest that can motivate students to increase their confidence in public speaking, especially in English language.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the strategies used by English teachers to teach reading comprehension and how these strategies are implemented. This study is classified as descriptive qualitative research. The study employed observations, interviews, and documentation as its primary methods. The research's informants were two English teachers. The results showed that the teachers used three different tactics: discussion strategies, question-answer relationships, or QARs, and scaffolding. Scaffolding involves providing support and gradually reducing this support as students become more independent, allowing them to build on their existing knowledge and skills. The QAR strategy, which involves asking questions, answering them, and then reviewing the answers, is particularly effective in deepening understanding and retention of text. Discussion, facilitated by the teacher or in small groups, encourages students to articulate their thoughts and interpretations, fostering a deeper engagement with the material. These strategies, when integrated into reading comprehension instruction, not only support students in developing their reading comprehension skills but also promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of the texts they read.

Abstract

Digital storytelling, coupled with Artificial Intelligence (AI), has emerged as a powerful tool for enhancing language skills in learners. This study explores the multifaceted applications of digital storytelling based AI in the realm of language education, shedding light on its pedagogical benefits and innovative possibilities. However, while the potential of AI digital storytelling is promising, it also presents several significant challenges. It critically examines the challenges and offer insights into its application for language classroom. The data were 12 journal publications studied searched on the Publish or Persih, Google Scholar and Scopus database and its publication time range is in 2020- 2023. By conducting narrative review, this study provides a comprehensive overview of the evolving intersection of technology and the benefits of AI- digital storytelling in language. education
