Abstract

LRT Jabodebek as the first LRT infrastructure project in Indonesia has provided lessons on the implementation of dynamic capabilities on manufacturing aspects for the construction industry. In order to meet the requirements 2900 units of U-Shape Girder, production under normal conditions is expected to be completed by 2020. The acceleration of completion led to a significant increase in project requirements, accelerated completion of construction led to production shortages. Meeting the need for acceleration requires factories to be able to increase their production capacity by using steam curing methods. This case study uses a qualitative approach and focuses on dynamic capabilities in the production process. As a role model of application of manufacturing dynamic capability, the project has demonstrated the role of technology in increasing productivity. The integration of methods, asset positioning, and management processes are the most dominant productivity factors in accelerating the production of U-Shape precast girder. Optimum production performance can be achieved by integrating factory roles, project sites and management supported by adequate resources and staff experience

Abstract

Outcome Based Education (OBE) is a learning method that focuses on outcomes in a learning process. In the field of engineering, the delivery of lecture materials coupled with the achievement of targets for outcomes is a challenge, especially when it comes to technology applications. This is because the application of technology requires real examples, so that the students can have a comprehensive picture and understanding. This study was carried out on the Internet of Things (IoT) course at Undergraduate Program in Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. This course discusses the basics of applying IPTEKS (Science, Technology and Arts) tools that can be utilized in the field of Civil Engineering, especially in the current Industrial Revolution 4.0. This research was intended to evaluate the OBE implementation, in terms of student participation and level of understanding of students. Observations were made during one semester by observing the results of student evaluations and the feedback received by the lecturers. The evaluation was carried out qualitatively and quantitatively based on the course learning outcomes (CLO). The results showed that all students actively participate in the learning process using this OBE method. The high level of material understanding was indicated by the achievement of a 100% passing rate, but there were still two students who have not fulfilled two CLOs. Therefore, continuous improvement efforts are still needed in implementing OBE for students, so that all students can fulfill all CLOs in Internet of Things courses.

Abstract

Abstract: The addition of the Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) is done by stripping the asphalt mixture on the pavement structure and destroying it into a grained material. The percentage of RAP material addition and treatment of RAP material prior to use as a Job Mix Formula will affect the final result of the asphalt mixture so that the relationship between the asphalt mixture characteristics with the RAP material and the relationship between the asphalt mixture characteristics between the two treatments against RAP with or without the granulator need to be studied. The results of this study show that the addition of RAP material can improve the stability of the asphalt mixture, the optimal value of RAP material addition is between 20% and 30%. In addition, the use of RAP by granulisation process in aggregate mixtures can help to improve stability and mixed stiffness.Keyword: RAP, Asphalt mixture, granulator

Abstract

Abstract

Tide phenomenon that often occurs in the coastal areas of Indonesia resulted in flooding, which is called the tidal flood. A tidal flood overflow phenomenon of sea water inland. Often some of the roads located in coastal areas are flooded by tidal flood and often causing some damages to the road. Therefore it is necessary to investigate the effect caused by tidal inundation or water bath for asphalt pavement. This research aims to know the durability performance of asphalt concrete mixtures with marinade modification Marshall. The study was conducted with two standard methods of soaking in tidal water and laboratory. Water Immersion method is made by soaking continuous (continuous) and periodic (intermittent). Soaking the specimen in water tidal variation within 6 hours; 12 hours; 24 hours; 48 hours; and 72 hours. While the periodic immersion done by soaking the specimen for 12 hours, then removed during the next 12 hours during 3-days. To view the durability performance of asphalt concrete mixtures used indicator Index of Retained Stability (IRS), Stability Deformation Index, namely First Durability Index (IDP), and the Second Durability Index (IDK). The results showed that continuous immersion damage effects mix quicker on asphalt mixtures than regular immersion. Tidal water used to soak the asphalt mixture Hot Rolled Sheet-Wearing Course (HRS-WC) either continuous or periodic method, has a greater influence than the use of laboratory water. It is shown by the value of the durability of asphalt mixture soaked-tidal water smaller than water-soaked asphalt mixture laboratory standards. Keywords : tidal flood, immersion , durability.

Abstract

The Yos Sudarso arterial road, a critical ring road connecting industrial zones and ports in Central Java, experiences high accident rates (averaging 6 accidents/month from 2019 to 2022). Despite its economic significance, inadequate traffic signage and complex topography contribute to recurring accidents, necessitating a targeted safety analysis. This study investigates (1) the correlation between road complementary devices (e.g., traffic signs) and accident rates, and (2) the relationship between traffic volume and accident frequency, with a focus on high-risk vehicle groups. Field surveys and spatial analysis were conducted to evaluate road conditions, signage compliance, and accident hotspots. Data from 262 accidents were analyzed alongside traffic volume measurements and road equipment assessments. Key results include: (1) A strong correlation between insufficient traffic signs and accident occurrence, and (2) An inverse relationship between traffic volume and accidents, with Group 1 vehicles (e.g., cargo trucks) identified as most vulnerable. While compliant with regulations, road geometries revealed blind spots due to median vegetation. The study advocates for enhanced signage and ITS integration (e.g., adaptive signals) to mitigate accidents. It also calls for dedicated lanes for high-risk vehicles and further research into behavioral factors underlying the traffic volume paradox. These findings contribute to evidence-based policies for arterial road safety in urban-industrial corridors.

Abstract

Traffic conditions at a median opening are more complex than signalized or unsignalized intersections. Driving behaviors and the driver's ability to maneuver a U-turn can affect median opening performance. Using software such as PTV Vissim, simulations can be carried out to help analyze traffic conditions and make necessary decisions. This study aims to simulate the median opening u-turn using PTV Vissim to resemble actual traffic conditions and validate it statistically. The calibration involves adjusting traffic volume, headway distribution, speed distribution, driving behaviors, conflict area, and critical gap. One of the important parameters in an unsignalized intersection, especially for U-turn movements at median openings, is the necessary gap. Most simulations still focus on driving behavior parameters, while the critical gap should be used as a calibration parameter to determine safe distances. Additionally, headway distribution predicts the arrival of vehicles that will pass through the median opening. This study adds calibration to the headway distribution parameter and critical gap parameter. The validation MAPE and GEH results for the calibrated simulation are good and acceptable. Meanwhile, the uncalibrated (default) simulation shows poor and unacceptable values. This evidence indicates that calibration is essential in the PTV Vissim simulation. Factors that affect the simulation result are inconsistent drivers, aggressive driver behavior, and inability to comply with priority rules. Driving patterns in mixed and heterogeneous traffic conditions create opportunities and spaces for making U-turns. Simulating this factor is challenging, so a more careful calibration is needed.

Abstract

Rawa Pening is a natural lake located in Semarang Regency that is facing issues with declining fish stock. Fish restocking activities in Rawa Pening are one of the solutions to maintain fish stock, fishermen's livelihoods, and food security. Fish restocking activities in Rawa Pening were carried out in July 2025 by the Undip community service team, involving the release of nilem and tawes fish, which are classified as local (non-invasive) species. An evaluation of local residents' perceptions of the fish restocking activities was conducted through interviews with 30 local residents who work as fishermen and fish processors. The evaluation results indicate that the fish restocking activity in Rawa Pening has received a positive response from the community service activity partners, with 100% of respondents agreeing with the restocking activity, primarily citing increased fishermen's income and maintaining fish populations in Rawa Pening as the main reasons. However, local residents' understanding and knowledge regarding the technical aspects of the restocking activity still need to be improved.

Abstract

Gayamsari Intersection and Lamper Intersection in Semarang City are signalized intersections that experience high levels of vehicle queues and delays, especially during peak hours. This study aims to design signal coordination between intersections to improve traffic performance. The analysis was conducted based on the Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI) 2023, with a five-day field survey covering active days (Monday-Wednesday) and weekends (Saturday-Sunday). Peak hour traffic volume data was used to analyze existing conditions, including degree of saturation (DJ), queue length (PA), and delay (T) parameters. Several signal cycle planning scenarios were tested, and an optimal cycle of 180 seconds for weekdays and 130 seconds for weekends was obtained. Signal coordination can only be applied from Lamper to Gayamsari intersection, because in the reverse direction straight vehicles at Gayamsari intersection do not face red signals. Signal coordination is designed using the bandwidth and offset time method, with an offset of 45 seconds. The design results show a bandwidth of 60 seconds (morning) and 81 seconds (afternoon) on active days, and 43 seconds (morning) and 51 seconds (afternoon) on weekends. This design is expected to reduce vehicle delays and queues, and improve traffic efficiency at both intersections.

Abstract

Simpang Bawen area connects Semarang with surrounding cities such as Salatiga, Surakarta, and Yogyakarta. Between 2017-2023, 98 accidents were recorded starting from Hortimart Agro Center to Simpang Exit Tol Bawen. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of traffic accidents, contributing geometric and operational design factors, and recommendations for safety improvements. The in-depth analysis method in qualitative descriptive research was used with accident data from the Semarang Police Traffic Unit and supporting data from the Central Java-Yogyakarta National Road Implementation Center. Field surveys were conducted to observe location conditions. The analysis was carried out by dividing the research location into five zones. The results of the analysis showed that the most frequent accident types varied in each zone and were dominated by motorcycles and heavy vehicles. Accidents occurred in sunny weather with moderate severity and were caused by non-priority behavior. Recommendations for improvement include closing U-turns, adding rumble strips, building flyovers, installing traffic lights, enforcing traffic laws, and improving street lighting.
