Abstract

PT. Perintis Makmur Indonesia (PMKI) is a smelting company that plays an important role in workforce absorption in the Morowali area. In particular, the mechanical department, consisting of 18 employees, requires an upgrade in pipe welding skills using the SMAW welding method. This is due to the fact that the mechanics are currently only capable of performing plate-to-plate welding, whereas they are required to have pipe-to-pipe welding skills to support their work. To enhance its employees' competencies, particularly in pipe welding, PT PMKI collaborated with the Morowali Metal Industry Polytechnic to organize a Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) training program for its employees. The primary goal of this training was to improve the employees' skills in performing pipe welding safely and efficiently. The training methods included lectures, discussions, and hands-on practice in the workshop, along with evaluations through pre-tests and post-tests. A total of 18 mechanics participated in this fiveday training. The materials covered welding safety, SMAW techniques, and defect handling in welding. The results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding and skills. The initial understanding level, as measured by the pretest, was only 19.8%. After the training, participants' understanding increased to 93.2%, as indicated by the post-test results. This training successfully improved the employees' pipe welding competencies, which are crucial for supporting the company’s operations.

Abstract

Higher education has an important role in the Tri Darma, namely participating in truly educating the lives of the nation and state in society. One step is to make humans no longer objects of development but subjects of development. As a development subject, abilities and skills in mastering science and technology are certainly required. The use of welding technology has developed and is widely used and exploited in the wider community, especially in meeting industrial needs. One of the welding methods is Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), namely welding using an electric arc. The aim of this activity is to increase the welding competency of Bungku Mining Vocational School students by adding special skills in the form of SMAW welding and providing encouragement and assistance so that Bungku Mining Vocational School students are able to provide welding equipment that supports learning in the laboratory. The benefit of this activity is to provide knowledge and train skills in SMAW welding so that it can be used to develop laboratory facilities.

Abstract

Hemangioma is a vascular anomaly that is benign and generally occurs in children. ISVVA 2018 classifies vascular anomalies into two categories, namely vascular malformations and vascular tumors (hemangioma). The prevalence of hemangioma is higher in low birth weight babies, premature babies, and girls. Several theories suggest that hemangiomas are caused by vasculogenesis and angiogenesis or an imbalance between angiogenic and antiangiogenic factors. Hemangiomas grow through a proliferation phase, involution phase, and post-involution phase. Hemangioma classification is based on the depth of the lesion, time of appearance of the lesion, distribution of the lesion, and its relationship to syndrome complication.. Diagnosis of hemangioma is based on anamnesis, physical examination, and supporting examinations which include USG, MRI, and CT-Scan. Hemangiomas that lead to complications should require immediate treatment. Hemangioma treatment can be done with topical therapy, systemic therapy (propranolol, corticosteroids, β-blockers, vincristine, rapamycin), laser therapy (PDL, diode, Nd: YAG, argon, KTP, CO2, IPL), and other treatments consisting of from surgical and non-surgical procedures (bleomycin injection).

Abstract

Program pemberdayaan potensi masyarakat untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan ekonomi telah dilakukan, khususnya bagi UMKM  kuliner di desa wisata Kampung Kokolaka Kecamatan Gunungpati. UMKM aktif melakukan pengembangan pengolahan kolang-kaling, sehingga menghasilkan produk baru yang sangat bervariasi. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra adalah pemasaran produk masih terbatas pada pasar tradisional dan omzet penjualan yang menurun. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat anggota UMKM di Kampung Kokolaka adalah membuat branded yang menarik untuk kegiatan promosi berbantuan teknologi digital dan pemasaran produk secara online. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian adalah pendekatan Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) dan kaji tindak melalui kegiatan workshop dengan  menerapkan learning by doing. Hasil yang dicapai adalah anggota UMKM meningkatnya pengetahuan  dan praktik keterampilan menciptakan branding, pemasaran melalui media sosial tiktok, instagram dan membuka toko online shopee serta transaksi keuangan online. Manfaat kegiatan pengabdian bagi anggota UMKM kuliner adalah  meningkatnya  kemampuan mengelola wirausaha, khususnya dalam mendesain branding produk, mempromosikan produk wirausaha dan  menjual produk secara online. Dampaknya meluasnya sasaran dan pangsa pasar, omset penjualan meningkat dan penghasilan UMKM juga lebih meningkat.

Abstract

The development of technology is increasingly advanced in this modern era, making human life inseparable from the use of machines. These machines must have various spare parts made from steel/iron. In addition, the machining production of these machines is made of steel / iron which can be corroded. Corrosion is a decrease in metal quality caused by the environment or chemicals and affects the condition of a material. The way to overcome the occurrence of corrosion in iron, especially engine spare parts and machining production results is by designing and making corrosion rate inhibitor storage automation as a storage medium for engine spare parts and machining production results. The design of this machine is carried out in several stages, namely planning, design, manufacture, and testing. This research was conducted with the parameters of the results of spraying lubrication and temperature control. From the results of experiments that have been carried out, this storage automation is able to spray lubrication in accordance with the timing that has been set and is able to control the temperature in the storage so that the tool is able to inhibit the rate of corrosion on the workpiece.

Abstract

Alignment is a technique used to maintain machine components that rotate or transfer power so they can operate as effectively as possible and prevent damage to other machine components from errors made during installation or maintenance. Alignment is a maintenance activity that is often carried out on machines in industry and machines within the Morowali Metal Industry Polytechnic, especially in the Mechanical Maintenance Engineering Study Program. Competency in the alignment of gears and bearings is very much needed for prospective mechanics in the industry. The purpose of making this tool is as a simulation tool for learning alignment to achieve straightness and centricity between two rotating shafts (drive and driven shaft) to prevent friction, vibration, and other problems that can reduce tool life and, of course, increase expenditure costs. for repair or replacement of heavy equipment. In the process of designing this alignment tool, a drive method is used in the form of a sprocket and chain, where the link between the drive motor and the shaft to be moved is the sprocket and chain method. This research serves to help produce a design by considering the user's perspective so that the design results can be useful effectively. From the test results, the gear alignment setting tool can function well with the help of an inverter so that motor rotation can be reduced and can be controlled according to the desired conditions. The previous alignment setting tool had an RPM: of 1450.8 and the alignment setting tool that was made had an RPM: of 1455.7 with a frequency of 50 Hz so it can be concluded that this tool can be used for practical work in machine repair and maintenance laboratories.

Abstract

Keberadaan UMKM sangat mendukung perekonomian masyarakat desa, terutama di wilayah desa wisata yang sekaligus berperan sangat penting dalam perkembangan desa wisata. Namun UMKM Mekasari di desa wisata Kandri Kota Semarang memiliki masalah penurunan omzet penjualan. Tujuan pengabdian adalah mendampingi komunitas UMKM Mekarsari dalam usaha meningkatkan produktivitasnya dengan memanfaatkan kemajuan teknologi informasi (TI) dalam promosi dan pemasaran. Kegiatan pengabdian menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRS) yang memberi kesempatan mitra berpartisipasi aktif mulai dari menyusun perencanaan, pelaksanaan sampai evaluasi kegiatan dan menggunakan metode workshop learning by doing. Hasil kegiatan adalah UMKM Mekarsari dapat menciptakan branding yang menjadi daya pikat konsumen dengan aplikasi canva, membuat video pendek dengan aplikasi catcut, terampil mengemas produk yang aman dan menarik serta dapat membuat akun media sosial, membuka toko online dan terampil bertransaksi penjualan secara online. Dampaknya produk UMKM memiliki pangsa pasar lebih luas dan mudah bertransaksi jual beli online, sehingga produktivitasnya meningkat.

Abstract

Wounds are skin disorders caused by pathological processes. Abrasion wounds are a type of acute injury. One of the contributing factors is traffic accidents. More than 1.2 million people died as a result of traffic accidents, while 20-50 million others suffered injuries. Choosing the proper dressing can determine wound healing. This case study aims to determine the effectiveness of silicone wound dressing in the healing process of contaminated abrasion wounds. Contaminated abrasion wounds are contaminated by dirty materials, which potentially cause infection. This case report describes four patients, Mrs. W, Mrs. K, Mr. Y, and Mr. M., who suffered abrasions on the face. Their wounds were cleaned in the operating room under general anesthesia. A silicone wound dressing is applied as the primary dressing. The secondary dressing depends on the amount of the exudate. On the 3rd day after the surgery, the wounds looked dry, so they were cleaned and reapplied with the silicone dressing. On the 7th day, after applying silicone wound dressing, the wound had epithelialized. Silicone wound dressing is a modern type of dressing that is effective for acute wounds as it provides a barrier against external contamination. Our sample shows that wound are abrasion contaminated. The result of silicone wound dressings applied was shown accelerate the wound healing process. Modern dressings accelerate wound healing 20% to 40% faster than conventional dressings, such as gauze, tulle, or gauze.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyusun skala prioritas rencana penanganan jalan kabupaten dengan pendekatan koridor di wilayah Kabupaten Lampung Selatan. Objek penelitian adalah jalan kabupaten di Kecamatan Natar dan Kecamatan Jatiagung. Penelitian menggunakan metode analytical hierarchy process (AHP), dengan tiga kriteria yang dipakai untuk menentukan prioritas penanganan jalan. Hasil analisis diperoleh tingkat kepentingan bobot masing-masing kriteria dan sub kriteria untuk menentukan prioritas penanganan jalan kabupaten. Pada level kriteria, hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kriteria teknis jalan memperoleh bobot tertinggi (65,41%), diikuti oleh kriteria sosial ekonomi (23,73%) dan pelayanan jaringan (10,86%). Sedangkan pada level sub kriteria diperoleh bobot masing elemen yaitu kondisi jalan (56,54%), jenis perkerasan (8,87%), komoditas unggulan (10,74%), jumlah penduduk (9,47%), fasilitas umum dan sosial (3,52%), aksesabilitas (6,39%), mobilitas/volume lalu-lintas (3,35%) dan tingkat kecelakaan (1,12%). Skala prioritas rencana penanganan hasil analisis dalam penelitian ini diperoleh urutan prioritas penanganan yaitu Koridor Sp. Rejosari – Pesawaran menempati prioritas pertama dengan nilai 5,675, dilanjutkan dengan koridor Tegineneng – Sukadamai (5,146), koridor Muara Putih – Krawangsari (4,514), koridor Sidodadi Asri – Karang Anyar (4,315) dan prioritas terakhis koridor Karang Sari – Batas Bandar Lampung (4,099).

Abstract

Bearing failure is one of the main causes of operational disruptions in mechanical systems due to the lack of continuous condition monitoring. Early detection of vibration and temperature increases is essential to prevent downtime and reduce maintenance costs. This study aims to design and develop a bearing condition monitoring prototype based on the Internet of Things (IoT) using the Research and Development (R&D) approach. The system employs an Arduino Uno and NodeMCU ESP8266 as the main controllers, a piezoelectric sensor to detect vibration, and an MLX90614 infrared sensor to measure the bearing surface temperature. The measured data are transmitted in real time to the ThingSpeak platform for remote visualization and analysis. Experimental testing over three hours showed an average vibration of 7.25 Hz and an average temperature of 35.87 °C, where the condition indicators on the LED and LCD operated according to the predefined thresholds. The system successfully provided early warnings of potential bearing failure through continuous parameter monitoring. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of low-cost multi-sensor technology with the ThingSpeak platform for real-time, end-to-end bearing condition monitoring, supporting the concept of predictive maintenance.
