Abstract

Permasalahan sanitasi, khususnya pengelolaan Sistem Pengelolaan Air Limbah Domestik Terpusat (SPALD-T), menjadi isu penting di Indonesia. Tantangan utama mencakup kurangnya pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan pemahaman pengelola SPALD-T, yang menyebabkan pengelolaan air limbah belum optimal. Dampaknya termasuk penyebaran bau dan risiko penyumbatan. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, diadakan pelatihan dan edukasi bagi pengelola SPALD-T di Surabaya. Pelatihan ini bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman tentang pengelolaan air limbah, prinsip operasional SPALD-T, metode pemeliharaan, serta langkah pemantauan. Melalui pelatihan ini, peserta diharapkan memperoleh pengetahuan lebih baik dan keterampilan praktis yang mumpuni, sehingga mampu mengelola air limbah secara optimal. Hasilnya, kinerja SPALD-T dapat ditingkatkan, dengan mengurangi masalah bau dan penyumbatan serta mendukung keberlanjutan sistem pengelolaan. Program ini juga mendukung pencapaian target pemerintah dalam menyediakan akses sanitasi layak dan aman. Dengan pengelolaan yang lebih efektif, manfaat sanitasi yang lebih baik dapat dirasakan oleh masyarakat.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat potensi ekowisata berbasis kearifan lokal sebagai strategi pemberdayaan ekonomi di Desa Bahari III, Kabupaten Buton Selatan. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan pendekatan partisipatif, meliputi pemetaan potensi desa, pelatihan masyarakat, pendampingan kelembagaan, dan edukasi lingkungan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat memiliki sumber daya budaya dan alam yang kaya untuk dikembangkan menjadi destinasi wisata berbasis nilai lokal. Pencapaian utama meliputi pembentukan Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis), peningkatan kapasitas masyarakat dalam pengelolaan wisata, serta integrasi narasi budaya dalam paket wisata. Selain itu, program ini juga meningkatkan kesadaran kolektif masyarakat terhadap pelestarian lingkungan sebagai bagian dari pengelolaan ekowisata berkelanjutan. Hasil ini membuktikan bahwa pengembangan ekowisata yang melibatkan masyarakat secara aktif mampu meningkatkan nilai ekonomi, memperkuat identitas lokal, dan menjaga kelestarian lingkungan pesisir.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effect of adding pumpkin seed filtrate and starter concentration on the characteristics and acceptability of yoghurt. The research employed a Completely Randomized Design with two factors: filtrate concentration (3, 6, and 9%) and starter concentration (3, 5, and 7%). The parameters analyzed included sensory acceptance, viscosity, pH, total acidity, moisture content, ash content, protein content, phosphorus content, antioxidant activity, and total lactic acid bacteria. The results showed that the addition of pumpkin seed filtrate and starter significantly affected the chemical and microbiological characteristics of the yoghurt but had no significant effect on sensory acceptance. The best yoghurt was obtained from the combination of 9% filtrate and 3% starter, with a viscosity of 1,220 cP, pH of 3.63, acidity of 1.27%, protein content of 3.90%, phosphorus content of 161.28 mg/100 mL, antioxidant activity of 10.64% RSA, and, and total lactic acid bacteria count of 2.69 × 10⁹ CFU/g.

Abstract

Purpose – Student epistemology can be understood as an intrinsic aspect that influences student success in learning activities. Therefore, teachers need to innovate learning methods based on the level of understanding and needs of students in order to conduct and engage them in learning activities within the school environment.Methodology – The research aims to map the trend of research development related to student epistemic in the learning process based on the Scopus database. There are 890 metadata records of Scopus-indexed journal articles from the period 2013-2022, which are analyzed bibliometrically using the VOSviewer software to identify trends in student epistemic research.Findings – The study's results revealed that research publications related to student epistemic development from 2013 to 2022, with the highest Scopus index in 2022, comprised 184 articles (20.44%). Bibliometric mapping also shows that student epistemic research with the themes "epistemic access, epistemic access, epistemic practices, epistemological beliefs, and epistemic tools" has a novelty to research. This can provide an opportunity for further research related to student epistemic studies.Significance – The implications of this research are expected to make a significant contribution to academics, researchers, and educational practitioners in understanding the field of student epistemic studies, as well as providing recommendations for researchers to conduct further research related to students' epistemic abilities in learning activities at school.

Abstract

Consumer preference for gluten-free products is increasing, which aligns with health awareness. Mocaf cookies with mucuna pruriens and pumpkin can be a new alternative for healthy snack innovation. This research aims to design and determine the optimal formulation of mocaf mucuna pruriens pumpkin cookies based on parameters affecting the process and favored by panelists. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) Factorial method with two replications was applied, consisting of two factors. The first factor is the proportion of mucuna pruriens and pumpkin addition, which consists of six variations: 10:60 (F1), 20:50 (F2), 30:40 (F3), 40:30 (F4), 50:20 (F5), and 10:60 (F6). The second factor is the difference in drying temperature, namely 110 ℃ (T1) and 120 ℃ (T2). This method was conducted to evaluate the effect of adding mucuna pruriens and pumpkin on the qualitative characteristics of cookies, such as organoleptic tests. Sensory properties testing was performed using a hedonic test that included evaluations of taste, aroma, color, texture, aftertaste, and overall product. The preference test was applied to 27 trained panelists with a rating scale of 1 (strongly dislike) to 7 (strongly like) conducted in 2 replications. The data obtained were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) to determine the effect of treatments and further analyzed using the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5 % significance level. Mocaf cookies with the addition of 40 % mucuna pruriens and 30 % pumpkin at a drying temperature of 120 ℃ were selected as the best mocaf cookies formulation according to the panelists.

Abstract

Abstrak:Pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organic cair bagi pokja kelurahan sehat Baadia merupakan bagian dari upaya pemberdayaan masyarakat untuk mengolah sampah organic secara berkelanjutan. Kegiatan ini bertujuan memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada masyarakat dalam memanfaatkan sampah organic untuk pembuatan pupuk cair yang ramah lingkungan. Pelatihan yang diselenggarakan oleh tim pengabdi Universitas Muhammadiyah Buton ini difokuskan pada kelompok kerja Kelurahan Sehat Baadia dengan jumlah anggota sebanyak 11 orang. Pada Kegiatan ini Pokja Kelurahan Baadia diajarkan tentang pembuatan pupuk cair. Jenis pupuk cair organik yang dibuat yakni: (1) POC bahan baku air cucian beras+M4; (2) POC berbahan baku air cucian beras+yakult; (3) POC barbahan baku air cucian beras+ektrak kulit pisang+EM4; dan (4) POC berbahan baku air cucian beras+ekstrak kulit pisang+yakult. Berdasarkan evaluasi, pelatihan ini mencapai keberhasilan sebesar 87,5 % dengan 95 % peserta aktif berpartisipasi dan 85 % mampu mempraktekkan teknik pembuatan pupuk organic cair secara mandiri. Hasil pelatihan ini menunjukan peningkatan kesadaran lingkungan dan potensi ekonomi di kalangan peserta serta memberikan solusi terhadap permasalahan sampah organic. Program ini diharapkan dapat terus berlanjut dan diterapkan secara berkelanjutan untuk menjaga kelestarian lingkungan dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat di Kelurahan Baadia.Abstract: The training on making liquid organic fertilizer for the Baadia healthy village working group is part of the community empowerment effort to process organic waste in a sustainable manner. This service program provides a real contribution that can be felt by the community. This activity focuses on community empowerment, through training in making Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC). This training was aimed at the Healthy Village Working Group (Pokja) as an effort to increase skills and awareness in sustainable organic waste management with a total of 11 members. In this activity, the Baadia Village Working Group was taught about making liquid fertilizer. The types of organic liquid fertilizer made are: (1) POC raw material for rice washing water+M4; (2) POC is made from rice + yakult washing water; (3) POC as raw material for rice washing water + banana peel extract + EM4; and (4) POC is made from rice washing water + banana peel extract + yakult. The results of this activity support the healthy village program, processing waste into appropriate and economic value and reducing community dependence on chemical fertilizers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the ratio of ingredients and drying temperature on the quality of instant porridge based on sago, pumpkin, and soy flour. The ratio of raw materials used: 1:1:1, 1:2:1, and 1:3:1. The drying temperature ratios used were 130, 140, and 150°C. Physical properties of instant porridge were tested: yield, slurry density, rehydration power, oil absorption capacity, and color. Chemical analysis included: moisture content, ash, protein, fat, carbohydrate, beta-carotene, total phenol, and antioxidant activity. Organoleptic testing of color, aroma, taste, viscosity, and overall acceptance. The results showed that instant porridge with a ratio of 1:2:1 and a drying temperature of 130°C was most favored by panelists. The physical properties of the instant porridge, consisting of slurry density, rehydration, oil absorption capacity, and color, met the requirements. The instant porridge had the following chemical composition: moisture content 6.31%, protein 24.67%, fat 2.16%, ash 4.89%, and carbohydrate 61.97%. The beta-carotene content, total phenolics, and antioxidant activity were 43.25 µg/g, 14.64 mg EAG/g, and 33.09% RSA, respectively. Abstract

Permasalahan utama yang dialami Badan Usaha Milik Daerah (BUMD) Air Minum di Indonesia antara lain konsumsi energi yang sangat besar. Penggunaan energi dalam mendukung penyelenggaraan SPAM sebagian besar digunakan pada pengoperasian pompa, dimana dapat mencapai lebih dari 80% terhadap total penggunaan energi. Perusahaan Air Minum Sumber Sejahtera Kabupaten Bangkalan sebagai salah satu BUMD menggunakan sistem perpompaan secara penuh pada sistem distribusi, hal tersebut menjadikan konsumsi energi pada SPAM Kota Bangkalan cukup tinggi, sehingga perlu dilakukan identifikasi terkait evaluasi beban energi yakni dengan melakukan audit energi menggunakan analisis Audit Energi Terperinci (AET) yang mencangkup analisis nilai kualitas daya, efisiensi total pompa, dan spesific energy consumption (SEC). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan survei dan studi kasus. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kualitas daya untuk masingmasing pompa distribusi masih cukup baik dengan nilai ketidakseimbangan <1%. Tingkat efisiensi total pompa untuk masing-masing pompa distribusi masuk dalam kategori sangat rendah dengan nilai berkisar pada 35,22-51,46%. Nilai SEC pada masing-masing pompa distribusi belum dapat dikatakan ideal dengan nilai SEC berkisar 0,3-0,46 kWh/m3 . Jam operasi pompa juga memengaruhi dalam peningkatan biaya energi, dimana pompa distribusi dioperasikan secara penuh (24 jam). Pengoperasian pada waktu beban puncak (WBP) ini juga mengakibatkan perbedaan tarif pada tagihan energi.

Abstract

This study analyzes the management and utilization of Sara customary land in Takimpo Village, Buton Regency, managed by the indigenous community based on customary law principles, and compares it with the customary land management system in Nigeria. Sara land holds significant cultural, social, and economic value for the indigenous community, who manage it based on principles of collectivity and consensus. The research method used is socio-legal, employing a qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and analysis of data obtained from the indigenous community, as well as relevant legal literature. The key findings indicate that the customary law principles in Takimpo emphasize communal land ownership, consensus as the decision-making mechanism, and sustainability in land use. Although customary law is respected, there is tension with state policies that prioritize individual land ownership. A comparison with Nigeria reveals similar principles of collectivity; however, state policies in Nigeria are more dominant, leading to tensions with the customary legal system. In conclusion, legal recognition of customary land needs to be strengthened in national land policies to protect the rights of indigenous communities. Mapping customary land based on customary law is essential to ensure sustainability and protect the rights of indigenous communities in managing their land.
