Abstract

The dedication of this community was carried out in RT 25, Kelurahan Sawah Lebar, Queen's High Precinct, Bengkulu City, selected because of the presence of diabetes mellitus data among the elderly that was obtained from the data of the Puskesmas Sawah Working Area of Queen the Great Precincts, Bengulu City. After conducting public interviews, the problem of diabetes mellitus in RT 25 is largely due to age factors, lack of care for blood pressure checking on a routine basis because of busy work and limited public knowledge of the principle of 3J. Students discussed with the team of field tutors, the puskesmas, the head of RT, to determine the program to be implemented. The stage of implementation of dedication to this community was conducted with interviews to the head of RT 25 and the puskesmass (CI) parties related to the problems in RT 25 Kelurahan Sawah Bharat. He then made the determination of the program of activities through FGD (Focus Group Discussion) which will be carried out to deal with the problems that exist in RT 25 Sawah Bharar. Student approval will provide a pre-test questionnaire related to principle 3J. Then the questioning session is answered to the educated community. The final stage of this activity participants were given a post-test questionnaire. The rise in public knowledge of hypertension from 47.5% to 81.6% was seen from the average pre- and post-test questionnaire scores. The result is that the adoption of the 3J principle can increase the average knowledge of the public by 81.6%. Post-decade evaluations show that people are able to understand about the adoption of the 3J principle of determining the amount of daily calorie intake, choosing the type of low-sugar food and setting a meal schedule on a regular basis. Overall, this community service program has succeeded in achieving the main goal of raising public awareness in regulating dietary patterns according to the 3J principle. With significant indicators of success in increasing knowledge in the community, as well as knowledge of how to regulate a diet with the principle of 3J in diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

The rehabilitation of individuals struggling with addiction to narcotics, as outlined in Law No. 35/2009, underscores a two-pronged strategy that prioritises the recovery of health and social reintegration. This approach eschews criminal retribution in favour of more holistic methods of addressing the issue. The concept of restorative justice has emerged as an alternative approach to narcotics crime resolution, emphasising the recovery of offenders, victims and communities through dialogue and deliberation, rather than punishment. However, this approach is not without its challenges, and as such, the establishment of a robust legal framework is paramount. This research aims to integrate the concept and principles of restorative justice in the handling of narcotics abuse cases in Law No. 35/2009 based on the principle of justice and examine the legal reform of the application of restorative justice in the settlement of narcotics offences. The research method employed is a normative research method through a legislative approach and analytical approach. The results obtained demonstrated that the concepts and principles of restorative justice can be integrated in handling narcotics abuse cases based on Law No. 35/2009 to realise the principle of justice. The fundamental tenet of restorative justice emphasises the rehabilitation of individuals who use narcotics as a means of recovery, superseding the mere imposition of punishment. It is therefore imperative that a comprehensive revision of Law No. 35/2009 is made in order to incorporate the restorative justice approach on a more extensive scale.

Abstract

The importance of community service activities is to help the community, especially people from the lower middle class, to carry out supporting examinations for cardiovascular diseases which are often suffered by the community. The aim of this community service activity is to find out the results of blood glucose examinations in the community at RT 25, Sawah Lebar Village, Ratu Agung District. Bengkulu City. Blood sugar or blood glucose is sugar found in the blood and comes from the formation of carbohydrates from food and is stored as glycogen in the liver and skeletal muscles. The insulin hormone is a hormone that affects blood sugar levels. The reference value for blood glucose levels in plasma is 70-110 mg/dl, glucose 2 hours post prandial (after glucose administration) ≤140 mg/dl/2 hours, and immediate blood glucose ≤110 mg/dl. The method is carried out by taking a brief history and checking blood sugar levels with a device. After the examination, it was found that of the 32 people examined, 1 of them had high blood sugar levels, and the other 31 people were normal. It is best to check blood sugar levels on an ongoing basis to prevent non-communicable diseases as early as possible, especially for people who have the potential to experience this disease and for people who already suffer from Diabetes Mellitus, they can control their blood sugar levels so that they remain within reasonable limits so that complaints of signs and symptoms do not occur. which is undesirable.

Abstract

Despite the increasing global emphasis on literacy education, school-based literacy policies continue to face challenges in their development, implementation, and effectiveness. However, research examining these policies remains fragmented, particularly regarding their thematic evolution and geographic distribution. This study aims to analyze the research trends, thematic developments, and collaboration patterns in school-based literacy policy research from 2014 to 2024 through a bibliometric analysis. Using the Scopus database, 781 research articles were analyzed with VOSviewer and R Bibliometrix to identify citation structures, co-authorship networks, and thematic clusters. The findings reveal four major research clusters: (1) pedagogical approaches and teacher professional development, (2) health and well-being, including mental health literacy, (3) basic literacy skills and language development, and (4) policy implementation and evaluation. Over the past decade, publication output increased from 20 articles in 2014 to over 60 in 2023-2024, reflecting a growing academic interest in school-based literacy policies. The citation analysis shows that highly cited studies often focus on the intersection of literacy, digital transformation, and student well-being, indicating a shift toward a more integrated policy framework. Collaboration analysis highlights strong research networks among institutions in North America and Australia, though representation from developing regions remains limited. These findings provide critical insights for policymakers and educators in designing holistic literacy policies that integrate pedagogy, digital literacy, and mental health considerations. By applying bibliometric methods to literacy policy research, this study offers a novel, data-driven perspective on the field’s evolution and highlights directions for future research.

Abstract

Scabies is a contagious skin disease caused by infestation of the Sarcoptes scabiei mite. This condition commonly occurs in densely populated environments with poor personal hygiene, such as Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), dormitories, or correctional facilities. The main symptom of scabies is intense itching, especially at night, accompanied by skin lesions such as rashes and small bumps. Transmission occurs through direct person-to-person contact or through contaminated personal items. Prevention includes maintaining personal hygiene, avoiding the sharing of personal belongings, and providing proper treatment to infected individuals and close contacts. Health education for students and caregivers in pesantren is crucial to increase awareness, prevent transmission, and create a clean and healthy environment. Early treatment and continuous education are key to controlling scabies in densely populated settings.
