Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul Culture Shock dalam Interaksi Komunikasi Antarbudaya pada Mahasiswa Asal Papua di UNIMED. Metode penelitian yang di pakai adalah penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif, dilakukan untuk mendapatkan temuan-temuan di lapangan secara langsung guna menjawab tujuan penelitian.Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Papua yang kuliah di UNIMED. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa para mahasiswa asal Papua memiliki kecenderungan culture shock. Akantetapi mereka sudah hampir bisa menyesuaikan diri dan merasa nyaman tinggal di lingkungan. Fakultas dan motivasi diri ikut mempengaruhi proses komunikasi yang terjalin antara mahasiswa Papua dan mahasiswa UNIMED lainnya. Mahasiswa asal Papua tidak selalu berteman dengan sesamanya tetapi mereka juga berbaur dengan mahasiswa lainnya agar dapat menyesuaikan diri dengan lingkungan barunya dan merasa nyaman kuliah di UNIMED .

Abstract

The background of this reaserch is marketing communication used by Lapo Mandailing Coffee in Instagram as a popular social media nowdays. The purpose of this study is to determine the marketing communication strategy through social media Instagram and what factors are supporting and inhibiting in doing marketing communication strategy through social media instagram. Methode that use in this study is qualitative with interview as a technic to collect data from primer informan dan second informan. Result of this study is through instagram information about Lapo Mandailing Coffee can reach people that used Instagram in social media, so that thing can make sales Lapo Mandailing Coffee in promoting its product.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to reveal the mass media and commodity relations of death to the Medan Chinese in the advertisement of mourning in the Harian Analisa   newspaper. The method used in this study was descriptive to reveal the mass media and commodity relations of death to Chinese ethnic in Medan in the advertisement of mourning in the daily newspaper The analisa was clear. Data obtained from the results of direct interviews with speakers are qualitative data used to answer the research objectives. The results obtained were Mass Media and the Relationship of Death Commodities to Chinese Ethnicity in Condolence Advertisements in Harian Analisa   Newspapers in Medan are two things that are closely related to respect for ancestors as well as the economy. These two activities were embodied by the Harian Analisa   Newspaper managed by Chinese people. The Grief Advertisements in Harian Analisa  , became one of the Chinese Ethnic identity markers in Medan, which distinguishes it from other ethnicities in Medan City. There are two types of death advertisements, namely Grief News and Grief. Anatomy of Grief Ads: Headline; Sub Headline; Name; Bodycopy; Family name; Photos and Frames. Chinese Ethnic Identity, seen from the presence of Condolence Advertisements in Harian Analisa   Newspaper as one of the teachings that the brand is still doing to Repay Budi to People Who Ever Helped; Maintain Closer Kinship in the family; Social Bonding and Togetherness, Cultural Defense and Respect for Ancestors.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of work safety and work healthy on employee productivity in the production department at PT. Sisirau Aceh Tamiang. This research is a type of quantitative research with a sample of 45 people. The data analysis method used is multiple linear regression analysis. Hypothesis testing is done through t test, F test, and the coefficient of determination (R2). Regression equation results obtained Y = 2.255 + 0.314X1 + 0.811X2 means that the constant value of 2.255 is the value of employee productivity before being influenced by work safety and  health. The work safety regression coefficient is 0.314 and is positive, meaning that if work safety is increased the employee's work productivity will increase by 0.314 with a tcount> ttable (2.333> 1.68195) and significant (0.025 <0.05). The work health regression coefficient is 0.118 and is positive, meaning that if work health is improved the employee's work productivity will increase by 0.811 with a tcount> ttable (8.063> 1.68195) and significant (0.000 <0.05). The coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.614 or 61.4%, which means the work safety and health variables influence the work productivity of employees by 61.4% and the remaining 39.6% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of job satisfaction and organizational culture on the performance of employees of The Royal Hotel in East Aceh Regency. The sample used in this study amounted to 42 respondents. The sampling technique used in this study uses a non probability sampling technique that is saturated sampling. The data analysis method uses multiple linear regression analysis, t test, F test, and coefficient of determination analysis. The regression equation produced in this study Y = 2.984 + 0.460X1 + 0.203X2. Job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on employee performance at The Royal Hotel in East Aceh Regency. This is evidenced from the t test in which the t value of 0.029 <0.05 was obtained. Organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on employee performance at The Royal Hotel in East Aceh Regency. This is evidenced from the t test in which the t-value of 0.035 <0.05 was obtained. Job satisfaction and organizational culture simultaneously have a significant effect on the performance of employees of The Royal Hotel in East Aceh Regency. This is evidenced from the F test where F sig 0.034 <0.05. From the results of the analysis of the coefficient of determination can be explained that job satisfaction and organizational culture affect the performance of employees of The Royal Hotel in East Aceh Regency by 58.6%. While the remaining 41.4% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the local wisdom of the Buddhist community in Lombok, especially North Lombok in relation to the environment, nature, and plural social relations. The research method was carried out qualitatively on Buddhist communities in North Lombok Regency. This research results in the finding that basically the local wisdom of the Buddhist community is extracted from the experience of the community from the acculturation of the Majapahit Kingdom tradition which is very familiar with its environment and has long lived in a community culture that is one with nature, known asPujawali / memareq / worship. The local wisdom of Pujawali custom is a social and cultural condition which contains cultural values that respect and are adaptive to the natural surroundings, and are arranged steadily in a society's customs. Even though they are often considered old-fashioned, the values they teach and the practices they carry out are still a regular way of maintaining the environment and good relations between and within religious communities because they still hold strong beliefs about protecting nature means protecting life. Mujawali's wisdom teaches about maintaining harmony and unity, things that cannot be negotiated because actually the people of North Lombok have one ancestor in line with that in North Lombok the people hold the principle of helping merenten (we are all brothers).

Abstract

AbstrakMusik memiliki makna dalam pelaksanaan ibadah Agama Hindu dikarenakan musik adalah simbol pemujian terhadap Sang Yhang Whidi (Tuhan Pencipta Alam semesta). Shri Mariamman adalah Kuil yang berlokasi di Kota Medan. Bhajan Muruga merupakan lagu (mantra) renungan guna memuja dewa-dewi mereka ketika melakukan ibadah. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui fungsi dan makna musik pada pelaksanaan ibadah Agama Hindu di Kuil Shri Mariamman, Medan, Sumatera Utara. Metode penelitian deskriptif yang bersifat kualitatif digunakan sebagai cara untuk menjelaskan hasil penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian ini menetapkan informan yang terlibat maupun yang tidak terlibat secara langsung. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa peran musik dalam ibadah umat agama Hindu sebagai sarana beribadah kepada Sang Yhang Whidi, Musik dijadikan sebagai bentuk pengiring nyanyian yang disebut dengan mantra sebagai doa-doa pemujaan. Makna yang terkandung di dalamnya adalah Nyanyian yang diiringi dengan musik menandakan pemujaan yang tulus, sungguh sungguh, penambah semangat, memuja, penyampaian doa dan rasa syukur umat Hindu kepada Sang Yhang Whidi. Kata kunci: Fungsi, makna, musik, ibadah, Shri Mariamman.

Abstract

Research on the study of Minyak Karo ethnobotany aims to determine the types of plants that are the raw material for making Minyak Karo and its utilization. The method used in the study is a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques carried out through an emic approach and an ethical approach to the interview method with producers of Minyak Karo. The results obtained in this study are 42 species from 24 families which are used as ingredients in the production of Minyak Karo. Zingiberaceae is the type most widely used in these herbs. Plant parts used are leaves (16 species), rhizomes (7 species), roots (6 species), seeds (5 species), fruit (4 species), flowers and tubers (2 species each), and stems (1 species). Benefits of Minyak Karo treat aches, treat colds, reduce heat / fever, heal wounds, dry out and treat sunburn, treat itching, strengthen bones in infants, treat lumbago, treat rheumatism, treat sprains, treat body aches, and treat muscle cramps. Minyak Karo is an external medicine so that its use is enough by way of being rubbed, applied or massaged.

Abstract

Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) merupakan minyak yang diperoleh dari ekstraksi kelapa segar dan diproses dengan berbagai cara, termasuk metode produksi tradisional di rumah. Tujuan pembuatan VCO dan pliek-u yaitu untuk memberikan informasi tentang pemanfaatan produk kelapa berupa santan yang dapat diolah kembali menjadi minyak VCO, dan ampas minyaknya digunakan sebagai pliek-u sebagai makanan tradisional. VCO memiliki nilai jual yang tinggi dan berkhasiat obat. Pliek-u terbuat dari ampas kering sisa minyak kelapa tua. Kedua produk ini dibuat dengan mitra melalui praktik langsung. Hasil yang diperoleh dari pembuatan VCO adalah memiliki sifat fisik yang baik yaitu bening seperti air, memiliki aroma yang harum dan rasa yang dapat diterima, serta bebas dari bau tidak sedap. Pliek-u merupakan alternatif pengganti buah kelapa dan makanan tradisional yang harus dilestarikan. Pliek-u biasanya ditambahkan sebagai bumbu masakan kari, sehingga memberikan rasa yang unik dan otentik. Hasil uji organoleptik pliek-u yaitu warnanya coklat, rasanya asam dan aromanya tidak berbau.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui makna kerja tahun dan bentuk perubahan kerja tahun serta untuk mengetahui aturan baru yang ditetapkan dalam pelaksanaan kerja tahun bagi masyarakat karo pasca relokasi ke siosar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskrptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Kerja Tahun atau dalam bahasaa Karo Merdang merdem merupakan suatu pesta adat yang dilakukan secara turun temurun oleh kalak Karo di seluruh wilayah taneh Karo dengan tujuan menjaga ketentraman dan keseimbangan bermasyarakat serta membangun komunikasi dengan keluarga yang sudah lama tidak bertemu (Brahmana et al., 2009). Saat ini perubahan yang terjadi pada perayaan pesta tahun pasca relokasi ke siosar itu tidak terlalu tampak yakni Kerja Tahun hanya dijadikan sebagai suatu kebiasaan dan formalitas belaka, tarian adat karo yang sakral sedikit berubah menjadi hiburan biasa bagi kalangan muda maupun tua, kemudian beberapa alat musik pun berubah dan diminimalisir jumlah menjadi alat musik kibot karo yang mencakup suara dari beberapa alat musik. peraturan yang Ditetapkan dalam Pelaksanaan Kerja Tahun Pasca Relokasi ke Siosar tersebut masih tetap seperti semula.
