Abstract

The development of early childhood needs to be considered, considering the child is a parent investment in the future. Meeting the nutritional needs of children has an important role in achieving optimal growth and development, and is one of the determinants of achieving these needs. Nutritional status in children in the school environment often uses height and weight parameters. This study aims to determine the effect of nutritional status on early childhood on motor skills. The method used is ex-post facto in the sample of early childhood aged four to five years who have attended kindergarten with middle-level socioeconomic status. Nutritional status is known through height and weight, gross and fine motor development measured using ASQ 3rd edition. Data was processed with SPSS using the Kruskal Wallis Test analysis technique. The results show 90% of children are in the Thin category, 6.7% are in the Normal category, and 3.3% are in the obesity category. There is no influence of nutritional status on gross and fine motoric abilities in kindergarten children. The results of this study can be used as a consideration for the government to pay attention to nutritional status and motoric abilities of children, in an effort to minimize the gap between the quality of education and the various backgrounds of parents' socio-economic status.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the perspectives of special schools regarding the implementation of adaptive physical education in Cirebon City. The research method employed in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques involve the use of the Triangulation method. Data analysis in this study utilizes the Miles and Huberman field models. The sampling technique utilizes random sampling. Based on the research findings and the discussions presented, it can be concluded that the initial implementation of adaptive physical education for children with special needs can be considered successful because it has achieved the objectives of adaptive physical education. Furthermore, the treatment provided by physical education teachers to children with special needs is consistent with that provided to regular students, with special modifications to enable children with special needs to participate in the same learning materials as their peers. However, the third observation indicates that not all lessons align with the previously created lesson plans (RPP). Teachers have more flexibility to adapt to the circumstances and conditions of both regular students and children with special needs. The four strategies for adaptive education include learning modification techniques, environmental modification techniques, and learning activity modification techniques.

Abstract

The role of a physical education teacher is a long-term career, and efforts to improve the competence of physical education teachers must be the concern of several parties, such as universities, training institutions, and even the Ministry of Education. This concerns the indicators that should be included in the various training programs for prospective physical education teachers. Currently, there is no standardization of the quality of a physical education teacher who is qualified to teach at different levels of education. Several studies have discussed professional development for physical education teachers. However, there has not been much research on pre-service programs for physical education teachers. The purpose of this study is to determine the trend of research on pre-service physical education teacher education (PETE) in different countries from 2014 to 2023. Visualization was done using VOSviewer. The research was conducted with a bibliometric study. The results of bibliometric analysis showed that the most research related to this topic was conducted in the United States with 79 research publications and 1172 citations. The findings provide insight for researchers to identify the components that need to be provided in the pre-service program for prospective physical education teachers in Indonesia.
