Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan tepung jahe merah dalam ransum terhadap kualitas telur ayam kampung periode layer. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan ayam kampung betina umur 24 minggu sebanyak 100 ekor. Pemeliharan ayam kampung dilakukan pada kandang baterai dari kawat. Susunan ransum yang digunakan terdiri dari T0: ransum kontrol; T1: ransum kontrol + 0,25% tepung jahe merah; T2: ransum kontrol + 0,5% tepung jahe merah; T3: ransum kontrol + 0,75% tepung jahe merah; T4: ransum kontrol + 1% tepung jahe merah. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah berat telur, indeks telur, tebal cangkang, indeks haugh, indeks kuning telur, indeks putih telur, dan warna kuning telur. Data terkumpul diolah dengan menggunakan analisis ragam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan tepung jahe merah dalam ransum ayam kampung tidak berpengaruh terhadap berat telur, tebal cangkang, indek haugh, indeks kuning telur, dan indeks putih telur, tetapi berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap warna kuning telur (P<0,01). Rata-rata warna kuning telur T0, T1, T2, T3 dan T4 berturut-turut yaitu 7,79; 7,23; 5,39; 6,44; dan 5,36. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan tepung jahe merah mempengaruhi warna kuning telur yang semakin pucat, penambahan optimal tepung jahe merah pada taraf 0,25%.Kata kunci: ayam kampung, jahe merah, kualitas telurABSTRAKThis study aims to determine effect of the addition of red ginger flour in the ration on the quality of native chicken egg layer period. In this study using female chickens aged 24 weeks, as many as 100 native chickens. Maintenance performed on native chicken battery cages from wire. The composition of the ration used consisted of T0: control ration; T1: control ration + 0,25% ration of red ginger flour; T2: control ration + 0,5% ration of red ginger flour; T3: control ration + 0,75% ration of red ginger flour; T4: control ration + 1% red ginger flour. The experiment was conducted using a randomized block design with 5 treatments and 4 replications. Parameters observed in this study were egg weight, shape index, shell thickness, haugh index, yolk index, albumen index and yolk color. The data collected were processed using analysis of variance. The results showed that the addition of red ginger flour in native chicken rations had no effect on egg weight, shape index, shell thickness, haugh index, yolk index, and albumen index, but the effect was highly significant on yolk color (P <0,01). Average yolk color T0, T1, T2, T3 and T4 are respectively 7,79; 7,23; 5,39; 6,44, and 5,36. Based on these results it can be concluded that the addition of red ginger flour affect yolk color increasingly pale, optimal addition of red ginger flour at the level 0,25%.Keywords: native chicken, red ginger, egg quality

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan tepung limbah rumput laut terhadap produksi karkas burung puyuh jantan. Materi yang digunakan adalah puyuh jantan (Coturnix coturnix japonica) 160 ekor umur 6 minggu dengan rata – rata bobot badan 120,92 ± 0,48 g. Ransum tersusun dari jagung kuning, bekatul, bungkil kedelai, tepung ikan, PMM, premix, minyak kelapa, tepung limbah rumput laut. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan 5 ulangan, T0: Ransum 0% limbah rumput laut; T1: Ransum 5% limbah rumput laut ; T2: Ransum 7,5% limbah rumput laut; T3: Ransum 10% limbah rumput laut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh (P<0,05) terhadap bobot badan akhir dan bobot karkas tetapi tidak berpengaruh (P>0,05) terhadap persentase karkas. Simpulan penelitian adalah penggunaan tepung limbah rumput laut diatas 5% menurunkan bobot badan akhir dan bobot karkas.Kata Kunci : Puyuh jantan; limbah rumput laut; produksi karkas.ABSTRACTThis study aimed to determine the effect seaweed by product powder for the carcass production of male quail. The material used is a male quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica 160 head age of 6 weeks with an average body weight of 120.92 ± 0.48 g. Ration composed of yellow corn, rice bran, soybean meal, fish meal, PMM, premix, coconut oil, seaweed by product powder.This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments 5 replications, T0: feed 0% seaweed by product; T1: feed 5% seaweed by product; T2: feed 7.5% seaweed by product; T3: feed 10% seaweed by product. The results showed that treatment significantly (P<0.05) to the final body weight and carcass weight but no significant (P> 0.05) on carcass percentage. The conclusions of this research is the used of seaweed by product powder above 5% decreased final body weight and carcass weight.Key words : male quail; seaweed by product; carcass production.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui level penggunaan Kayambang(Salvinia molesta) fermentasi dengan Aspergillus niger sebagai pakan alternatif sampai pada taraf optimal terhadap kualitas telur. Materi penelitian menggunakan 80 ekor itik petelur lokal (Pengging) umur 22-29 minggu dengan bobot 1457±124,8 gram. Penelitian disusun menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan (0%, 15% Salvinia molesta non fermentasi, 15% Salvinia molesta fermentasi, 17,5% Salvinia molesta fermentasi, 20% Salvinia molesta fermentasi) dengan 4 ulangan yang terdiri dari 4 ekor setiap unit. Parameter yang diamati meliputi bobot telur, warna kuning telur dan indeks haugh. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bobot telur dan indeks haugh tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05), sedangkan warna kuning telur berbeda nyata (P<0,05). Pemanfaatan Salvinia molestafermentasi sampai 20% tidak mempengaruhi bobot telur dan indeks haugh tetapi dapat meningkatkan kualitas kuning telur menjadi lebih baik.Kata kunci : Salvinia molesta; Aspergillus niger; Kualitas fisik telur. ABSTRACT This research is conducted to determinethe optimallevel of usage in Kayambang (Salvinia molesta) fermentation with Aspergillus niger as an alternative feed to the physical quality of the duck eggs.The materials are using 80 local laying ducks (Pengging) aged 22-29 weeks with a  weight 1.457±124.8 grams. This research is composed by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments (0%, 15% non-fermented Salvinia molesta, 15% fermented Salvinia molesta, 17.5% fermented Salvinia molesta, 20% fermented Salvinia molesta) and 4 replications consisting of 4 ducks in each pen. The observed parameters are including egg weight, yolk color and Haugh index. The results showed that the egg weight and Haugh index were not significantly different (P>0.05), while the yolk color were significantly different (P<0.05). It was concluded that the Salvinia molesta which is fermented up to 20% did not affect the egg weight and Haugh index however it can improve the quality of the yolk to be better.Keywords: Salvinia molesta; Aspergillus niger;physicalquality of egg.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan tepung jahe merah dalam ransum terhadap efisiensi penggunaan protein ayam kampung periode pertumbuhan. Materi yang digunakan adalah ayam kampung betina umur 16 minggu, sebanyak 100 ekor dengan bobot badan rata-rata 1.202,96 ± 8,92 g ditempatkan dalam kandang battrey. Bahan pakan yang digunakan terdiri dari jagung giling, bekatul, tepung ikan, bungkil kedelai, white pollard, premiks dan tepung jahe merah. Pakan diberikan ad libitum. Ayam dikelompokkan menjadi 4 kelompok berdasarkan bobot badan, kelompok I (1.000-1.100), II (1.101-1.200), III (1.201-1.300), dan IV (1.301-1.400). Ada 20 unit percobaan dengan tiap unit berisi 5 ekor. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 5 perlakuan 4 kelompok, yaitu perlakuan T0 = ransum perlakuan tanpa tepung jahe merah, T1 = ransum perlakuan dengan penambahan tepung jahe merah 0,25%, T2 = ransum perlakuan dengan penambahan tepung jahe merah 0,5%, T3 = ransum perlakuan dengan penambahan tepung jahe merah 0,75%, T4 = ransum perlakuan dengan penambahan tepung jahe merah 1%. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis ragam. Hasil penelitian setelah dianalisis ragam menunjukkan penambahan tepung jahe merah tidak berpengaruh (P>0,05) terhadap rasio efisiensi penggunaan protein ayam kampung periode pertumbuhan.Kata kunci: ayam kampung; jahe merah; efisiensi penggunaan protein ABSTRACT This study was aimed to determined effect of red ginger meal on the protein efficiency utility of growth period native chicken’s diet. The material used in the study were female native chickens 16 weeks of age, a total of 100 chickens with an average body weight of 1.202,96 ± 8,92 g were placed in a battrey cage. There are 20 experimental units with each unit containing 5 chickens. Feedstuffs used in this study were corn, rice bran, fishmeal, soybean meal, white pollard, premix and red ginger meal. Given feed ad libitum. Chickens are classified into 4 block based on body weight, block I (1.000-1.100), II (1.101-1.200), III (1.201-1.300), dan IV (1.301-1.400). Experimental design used randomized block design (RDB) with 5 treatments and 4 groups; T0 = ration treatments without red ginger meal, T1 = ration treatments with red ginger meal 0,25%, T2 = ration treatments with red ginger meal 0,5%, T3 = ration treatments with red ginger meal 0,75%, T4 = ration treatments with red ginger meal 1%. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance. The results after analysis of variance showed the addition of red ginger meal had no effect (P>0,05) in the protein efficiency of growth period native chickens diet.Key word: native chicken; red ginger; protein efficiency utility

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aimed to investigate the effect of different feeding frequency on restriction feeding on final weight, abdominal fat and liver fat content of broiler chickens. The material used in this study 200 DOC bird broilers Ross unsex with initial body weight 46.01 ± 4.88 g averages. The bird was feeding by comersial feed with a protein content of 22.69% and metabolizable energy 2935 kcal / kg. The research used completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications were arrange 20 experimental units, each unit consists of 10 chickens. Feed give ad libitum in 1-7 days of ages. After that feed restriction (75% standard) with frequencies of administration at the age of 8-21 days with treatment 4 times at 06.00, 10.00, 14.00 and 18.00, 3 times at 06.00, 14.00 and 18.00, two feedings given at 06.00 and 14.00, then given ad libitum feeding at the age of 22-35 days. The results showed that the effect of different feeding frequency on feed restriction was not significantly different (P> 0.05) of the final weight, abdominal fat and liver fat. The results of the average final weight respectively T0, T1, T2 and T3 at 1825.80; 1812.40; 1770.60; 1777.80 g. The results of abdominal fat average 1.34; 1.46; 1.50; 1.27%. The results of the average liver fat 1.54; 1.80; 1.83; 1.88%. In conclusion, the treatment of feed restriction 75% of the standard and different frequency of 2x, 3x, 4x did not significantly affect the final weight and liver fat content but the influence on levels of abdominal fat.Key words: Final body weight, abdominal fat, liver fatABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh berbagai frekuensi pemberian pakan pada pembatasan pakan terhadap bobot akhir, lemak abdominal, dan kadar lemak hati ayam broiler. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ayam broiler unsex dengan strain Ross sejumlah 200 ekor dengan bobot badan awal rata-rata 46,01±4,88 gram. Pakan yang digunakan adalah ransum komersial dengan kandungan protein 22,69% dan energi metabolis 2.935 kkal/kg. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan percobaan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan sehingga ada 20 unit percobaan, setiap unit terdiri dari 10 ekor ayam. Pakan diberikan ad libitum pada umur 1-7 hari. Setelah itu dilakukan pembatasan pakan (75% standar) dengan berbagai frekuensi pemberian pada umur 8-21 hari dengan perlakuan 4 kali pemberian pukul 06.00, 10.00, 14.00 dan 18.00, 3 kali pemberian pukul 06.00, 14.00 dan 18.00, 2 kali pemberian diberikan pukul 06.00 dan 14.00, selanjutnya pakan diberikan ad libitum pada umur 22-35 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh berbagai frekuensi pemberian pakan pada pembatasan pakan tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05) terhadap bobot akhir, lemak abdominal, dan lemak hati. Hasil rataan bobot akhir secara berturut-turut T0, T1, T2 dan T3 sebesar 1.825,80; 1.812,40; 1.770,60; 1.777,80 g. Hasil rataan lemak abdominal 1,34; 1,46; 1,50; 1,27 %. Hasil rataan lemak hati 1,54; 1,80; 1,83; 1,88 %. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa perlakuan pembatasan pakan 75% dari standar dan frekuensi pemberian yang berbeda yaitu 2x, 3x, 4x tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap bobot akhir dan kadar lemak hati tetapi memberikan pengaruh terhadap kadar lemak abdominal.Kata kunci : Ayam bloiler, bobot akhir, lemak abdominal, kadar lemak hati

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of ginger on gastrointestinal tract which includes the weight of the digestive tract, the length of the small intestine, liver weight and liver color. Materials used in this research were 240 birds of Day Old Chicken (DOC). Feed that is given are corn, rice gran, soybean meal, coconut cake, PMM, fish meal, top mix TM and ginger powder in 17% protein and 2900 kcal/kg metabolizable energy. Statistic used in this research were Completely Randomized Design (CRD) Split Plot pattern with 4 treatments and 5 replications of diets (ad libitum provided), but on the ginger treatments feed gave once in three days, T0 = diets without using ginger powder, T1= 1% usage of ginger powder, T2= 2% usage of ginger powder, T3= 3% usage of ginger powder. The result show that native chicken relative weight of digestive tractus age of 12 weeks (T0= 13,16%, T1= 13,38%, T2= 12,51%, T3= 12,94), Length of small intestine (T0= 129,1 cm, T1= 123,9 cm, T2= 123,7 cm T3= 121,4 cm), relative weight of liver (T0= 2,42%, T1=2,33%, T2=2,53%, T3= 2,37%). The liver color of male native chicken with T0 treatment showed dark color (score 4), male native chicken with T0 treatment showed normal color (score 3) (descriptive). Gender of male didn’t make a significant effect on liver color. Gender of female makes a significant effect on liver color (based on H test from Kruskal Wallis). The conclusion showed that there’s no significant effect of using ginger powder (P>0,05) on weight of digestive, length of intestine, and weight of liver. There is negative effect of using 3% of ginger powder on liver color.Key words: native chicken, ginger powder, digestive tractus, liver.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan limbah rumput laut sebagai bahan pakan alternatif terhadap performans puyuh jantan umur 6 – 10 minggu. Materi yang digunakan adalah  puyuh jantan (Coturnix coturnix japonica) umur 6 minggu sebanyak 160 ekor dengan rata – rata bobot badan awal 120,92 ± 0,48 g, 20 unit kandang cage yang digunakan dalam penelitian dengan kapasitas 8 ekor. Bahan pakan yang digunakan terdiri dari jagung kuning, bekatul, bungkil kedelai, tepung ikan, PMM, minyak kelapa, top mix dan limbah rumput laut. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan, T0: tanpa limbah rumput laut; T1: 5% limbah rumput laut; T2: 7,5% limbah rumput laut; T3: 10% limbah rumput laut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi pakan, tetapi perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap penurunan pertambahan bobot badan dan peningkatan konversi pakan. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan limbah rumput laut (Gracilaria verrucosa) diatas level 5% dapat menurunkan pertambahan bobot badan dan meningkatkan konversi ransum.Kata kunci: puyuh jantan; limbah rumput laut; performans.ABSTRACTThis research aimed to determine the effect of seaweed by product as alternative feed ingredients for performance quail males aged 6-10 weeks. The material used was male quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) 6 weeks of age with a mean of one hundred and sixty male quail - average initial body weight of 120,92 ± 0,48 g, 20 units cages was used in this research, with a capacity of 8 quail. Feed ingredients that used was yellow corn, rice bran, soybean meal, fish meal, PMM, coconut oil, mix and seaweed by product. Research used completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications, T0: no seaweed by product; T1: 5% seaweed by product; T2: 7,5% seaweed by product; T3: 10% seaweed by product. The results showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P>0,05) on feed consumption, but significantly (P<0,05) decreased body weight gain and increased feed conversion. The results of this study concluded that the use of seaweed (Gracilaria verrucosa) by product above the level of 5% could decrease body weight gain and increase feed conversion.Keywords: male quail; seaweed by product; performance.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to examine the effect of storage time and egg weight at room temperature on the interior quality of Magelang duck. The material used were 120 eggs of Magelang duck. The parameters observed were albumen index, egg yolk index and Haugh unit. The 4 x 3 factorial experiment with 2 factors was applied. In which the first factor (A) was the length of egg storage of: a1 = 1 day, a2 = 3 days, a3 = 5 days and a4 = 7 days and the second factor (B) was egg weight of b1 (low = 48,4g – 63,1g)  b2 (medium = 63,2g – 73,6g) and b3 (high 73,7g - 81g,). The data were analyzed by the General Linear Model (GLM) procedure of Statistical Analysis System (SAS). The result showed that there was no interaction between storage time and egg weight on quality interior. Storage time was significant different (P&lt;0,05) on albumin index, egg yolk index and Haugh unit. Egg weight had no effect on index albumen, egg yolk index and Haugh unit.  In conclusion, the quality of the interior began to decline after being saved 3 days and the optimal egg weight for hatching eggs is medium egg weight.

Abstract

The research aims at studying the influence of pistia powder (Pistia stratiotes L.) as feed material on the performance index and red blood cell profile of male Magelang duck. The materials used were 100 heads of 4-week old male Magelang duck. The treatments were: T0 (basal), pistia powder in T1, T2 and T3 of ration for male Magelang duck at 6%, 12% and 18%. The parameters observed were Performance Index (PI), number of erythrocytes, amount of hemoglobin, hematocrit level, MCV (Mean Corpuscular Volume), MCH (Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin) and MCHC (Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration). The research results showed that using pistia powder up to 18% significantly (P≤0.05) increased performance index (PI) and generally insignificantly (P>0.05) influenced the number of erythrocytes, amount of hemoglobin, hematocrit level, MCV and MCHC, but significantly decreased (P<0.05) MCH. The research concludes that pistia powder may be used up to 18% in ration to increase the performance index without influencing the red blood cell profile of male Magelang duck.

Abstract

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of fermented shrimp waste meal on the characteristics of reproductive organs such as live weight, oviduct weight and length, ovarian weight, total yellow follicles, total white follicles, oviduct percentage and reproductive organ percentage. This experiment was conducted on Faculty of Animal Science and Agriculture, Diponegoro University. A total of 250, 6-week-old Japanese quail (consist of 250 females) were randomly assigned to one of 5 dietary treatments. 1st group (T0) was fed by diet without shrimp waste (control), 2nd group (T1) was fed by diet with 7,5% non-fermented shrimp waste, 3rd group (T3) was fed by diet with 5% fermented shrimp waste (FSW), 4th group (T3) was fed by diet with 7,5% FSW and 5th group was fed by diet with 10% FSW. 2 quails from each replicates were taken as samples. The members of a given sample were killed by severing the neck then separated the reproductive organs from the body. Measured the live weight, oviduct weight and length, ovarian weight, total yellow follicles, total white follicles, oviduct percentage and reproductive organ percentage. All data were examined using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results showed that the effect of fermented shrimp waste meal on reproductive organs characteristics such as live weight, oviduct weight and length, ovarian weight, total yellow follicles, total white follicles, oviduct percentage and reproductive organ percentage were not significant. The use of fermented shrimp waste up to 10% didn’t obstruct the growth and development of quail reproductive organs.
