Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan sorgum dan kulit pisang terhidrolisis terhadap lemak dan kolesterol daging ayam broiler yang dipelihara 42 hari. Materi yang digunakan adalah 160 ekor ayam broiler unsex CP707. Perlakuan dimulai usia 15 hari dengan bobot rata-rata 550,43±5,62 g, dipelihara dalam 20 unit kandang, setiap unit diisi 8 ekor ayam. Bahan pakan yang digunakan yaitu sorgum, kulit pisang, jagung, bekatul, tepung ikan, bungkil kedelai, Meat Bone Meal (MBM) dan premix.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian sorgum dan kulit pisang terhidrolisis 43% dalam ransum ayam broiler tidak memberikan pengaruh (P0,05) terhadap lemak dan kolesterol daging ayam broiler. Kadar Lemak daging dada yang dihasilkan dari penggunaan pakan sorgum dan kulit pisang terhidrolisis sebesar 1,75-2,34% dan kolesterol daging sebesar 0,83-0,84 mg/g. Kata Kunci: Broiler, sorgum, kulit pisang, performa, lemak

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penggunaan enzim fitase dalam ransum pada level protein yang tepat untuk meningkatkan retensi nitrogen dan penggunaan protein netto (PPN) ayam broiler.  Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah ayam broiler dengan bobot badan 108,14 ± 11,44 g (CV 10,58%) umur 1 minggu sebanyak 128 ekor (unsex) yang dipelihara dalam 16 unit kandang selama 6 minggu, masing-masing unit berisi 8 ekor ayam.  Penambahan fitase dilakukan pada minggu kedua pemeliharaan.  Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan yaitu  T0 (Ransum protein 23%), T1 (Ransum protein 21% + fitase 1000 FTU/kg), T2 (Ransum protein 23% + enzim fitase 1000 FTU/kg), T3 (Ransum protein 23% + mineral 1%).  Data dianalisis ragam menggunakan uji F pada level 5%. Uji Duncan dilakukan untuk melihat perbedaan antar perlakuan apabila terdapat pengaruh perlakuan. Parameter penelitian meliputi konsumsi nitrogen, retensi nitrogen dan penggunaan protein netto (PPN).  Hasil penelitian perlakuan menunjukkan berpengaruh nyata (P0,05) terhadap konsumsi nitrogen dan retensi nitrogen, tetapi tidak berpengaruh (P0,05) terhadap penggunaan protein netto (PPN). Kesimpulan dalam penelitian penambahan fitase dalam ransum protein rendah dan tinggi belum meningkatkan retensi nitrogen, tetapi mampu menghasilkan penggunaan protein netto (PPN) yang lebih baik. Kata kunci : enzim fitase, level protein, retensi nitrogen, broiler

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan tepung daun kayambang (Salvinia molesta)dalam ransum terhadap kualitas daging yang ditinjau dari konsentrasi omega-3, konsentrasi omega-6, rasio asamlemak omega-3 dan omega-6, dan kolesterol daging ayam broiler. Penelitian ini menggunakan seratus ekor ayambroiler unsex dengan umur perlakuan 15 hari yang memiliki bobot badan 500 ± 6,99 g. Penelitian ini menggunakanRancangan Acak Lengkap. Ransum perlakuan adalah T0 (ransum tanpa tepung daun Salvinia molesta); T1(ransum dengan tepung daun Salvinia molesta) 6%) ; T2 (ransum dengan tepung daun Salvinia molesta 12%); danT3 (ransum dengan tepung daun Salvinia molesta 18%). Data dianalisis dengan analisis ragam pada tarafsignifikansi 5% dan deskriptif non parametrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kolesterol daging mengalamipenurunan (P<0,05) pada T1, T2, T3 dibandingkan T0. Konsentrasi omega-3 dalam daging terjadi peningkatanpada T2 dan konsentrasi omega-6 pada T3. Keseimbangan rasio omega-3 dan omega-6 terdapat pada perlakuanT1 (1 : 3). Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa perlakuan pakan dengan tepung daun Salvinia molesta dalamransum menghasilkan kualitas daging yang rendah kolesterol dan memberikan imbangan rasio omega-3 danomega-6 yang mendekati rekomendasi.

Abstract

The study was conducted from January to February 2014 in the Broiler Cage Stage Cikandang Village, Rumpin District, Bogor Regency, West Java. The study aims to examine the utilization of fermented banana peels on protein consumption, crude protein digestibility and protein mass of broiler chicken meat. The material used was 120 broiler chickens (unsex) with an average body weight of 475 ± 0.98 g / head for 14 days, rumen fluid, banana peels and rations arranged in iso energy and iso protein. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 6 replications. T0 treatment = control ration without banana peel; T1 = ration with 5% fermented banana peel; T2 = ration with 10% fermented banana peel; T3 = ration with 15% fermented banana peel. Banana peels are fermented for 1 week to reduce high fiber content and high tannin. Data were analyzed using the F test at a level of 5%, followed by the Duncan test if there is a treatment effect. Based on research results, protein consumption was not significantly different (P> 0.05), so was protein digestibility and protein mass. The conclusion of this study is the use of banana peels fermented with rumen fluid has not been able to increase protein digestibility, protein consumption and protein mass of broiler chicken meat. However, the use of banana peels to a level of 15% does not reduce the utilization of protein so that it can be used up to a mixture of broiler chicken rations. Suggestion from research is that further research needs to be done with a different starter or fermenter. Keywords: Broiler, banana peel, rumen fluid, protein utilization

Abstract

This study was aims to evaluate the potential of ketapang leaves extract (Terminalia catappa L.) as a feed additive on growth performance, haematological profile and immune respone in starter period of kampong-crossbreed chickens. Observations were made in vitro and in vivo. In vitro observations were carried out on the anti-bacterial activity, anti-fungal activity and antioxidant activity. In vivo observations were carried out on the growth performance, haematological profile and immunity response with the antigen test against NDV in starter period (4 weeks old). Two types of liquid extract are used, namely the liquid extract of fresh ketapang leaves and dry ketapang leaves. Ketapang leaves liquid extract is given in a mixture of drinking water with a concentration of 1, 2, 3 and 4% (ml / 100ml). The results showed that in vitro extracts of fresh and dry ketapang leaves had an effect on bacterial and fungal activity and antioxidant activity. In vivo observations showed no effect on performance, but had an effect on haematological profiles and immune respone. Dried ketapang leaf extract showed a better effect on haematology and immune respone.

Abstract

ABSTRAK.Limbah udang merupakan limbah hasil industri pengupasan udang yang terdiri dari kepala dan kulit yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan alternatif dalam ransum puyuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh pemberian Tepung Limbah Udang Fermentasi (TLUF) dalam ransum puyuh untuk meningkatkan kecernaan. Materi penelitian menggunakan 250 ekor puyuh umur 6 minggu dengan bobot awal rata-rata 140,959,58 (CV=6,80). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan, setiap unit percobaan terdiri dari 10 ekor puyuh. Pakan perlakuan yang digunakan adalah 0%, 5%, 7,5% dan 10% tepung limbah udang fermentasi, serta 7,5% tepung limbah udang tidak fermentasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam (ANOVA) dengan uji F pada taraf 5% dan apabila terdapat pengaruh perlakuan dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh pemberian tepung limbah udang fermentasi dalam ransum puyuh berpengaruh nyata (P0,05) meningkatkan skor warna kuning telur tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P0,05) terhadap indeks kuning telur, indeks putih telur dan nilai Haugh Unit. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pemberian tepung limbah udang fermentasi 10% mampu meningkatkan skor warna kuning telur.(The effect of supplementation of quails diet with fermented shrimp waste meal on eggs quality)ABSTRACT. Shrimp waste is a waste product of shrimp peeling industry which consists of head and skin. These waste product, can be used as alternative feed stuffs for quails diet. The research was conducted to study the effect of supplemenetation of the diet with fermented shrimp waste meal on quails egg quality. The experimental animals used were 250 quails of 6 weeks old with the initial weight of 140,959,58 (CV=6,80). Completely Randomized Design was used with 5 treatments and 5 replicate cages of 10 quails each cage. The treatments were fermented shrimp waste meal with the levels of 0%, 5%, 7,5% and 10%, and 7,5% unfermented shrimp waste meal. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and any differences among treatment means found in the analysis of variance were further tested by Duncan Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the fermented shrimp waste meal had significant affect on yolk colour (P0,05), but produced no significant effet (P0,05) on yolk index, albumen index and haugh unit. In conclusion 10% fermented shrimp waste meal can increased yolk colour.

Abstract

This study evaluated the addition of turmeric flour (Curcuma domestica) and acidifier in feed on the production Performance of broilers during the starter phase. The materials used in this study were 240 unsexed DOC with an average weight of 40.55±1.69 g/bird. The research method was an experimental trial using a completely randomized design (CRD). There were six treatments and four replications, divided into T0 (commercial feed/basal feed + 0% acidifier + 0% turmeric powder), T1 (basal feed + 0% acidifier + 2.0% turmeric powder), T2 (basal feed + 0.5% acidifier + 1.5% turmeric powder), T3 (basal feed + 1.0% acidifier + 1.0% turmeric powder), T4 (basal feed + 1.5% acidifier + 0.5% turmeric powder), and T5 (basal feed + 2.0% acidifier + 0% turmeric powder). The results showed that the addition of turmeric flour and acidifier in broiler feed during both the starter and finisher phases had a significant effect (p<0.05) on mortality and no significant impact (p>0.05) on feed consumption, weight gain, starter body weight, and FCR. Adding turmeric flour and an acidifier could not increase feed consumption, weight gain, or starter body weight and reduce FCR. However, the addition of turmeric flour and acidifier was able to reduce mortality rates. Further testing related to dosage is needed to achieve the desired results.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of fermented lime peel waste flour (FLPWF) on the digestive tract dimensions of broiler chickens. The materials used include 200 female Lohmann MB 202 broilers aged 14 days, with an average body weight of 379.73 ± 18.72 g. The feed ingredients include yellow corn, soybean meal, fish meal, rice bran, fermented lime peel waste flour, soybean oil, premix, CaCO3, D-L Methionine, and L-Lysine. The study was designed using a completely randomized design (CRD) with four levels of fermented lime peel waste flour (FLPWF) usage: 0%, 1%, 2%, and 3% in the ration. Each treatment was repeated five times. Data were analyzed for variance using the SPSS 19.0 software. The results showed that the use of FLPWF did not significantly affect the weight and length of the small intestine, as well as the weight-to-length ratio of the small intestine among treatments (P> 0.05). This study concludes that using fermented lime peel waste flour in rations at 1% to 3% does not reduce the relative weight, length, and weight: length ratio of the small intestine of broiler chickens. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of different protein levels on the visceral organ of wandering whistling ducks. 108 ducks were reared for three months with details of 1 month of feed adaptation period and 2 months of feed treatment with different protein levels. This study consisted of 3 treatments, namely P1 with 12% protein , P2 with 15% protein , and P3 with 18% protein. Each treatment consisted of 9 replications, and each experimental unit consisted of 4 5-month-old wandering whistling ducks. The parameters measured in this study were the weight of the visceral organs of wandering whistling ducks (liver, heart, pancreas, and lungs). The data obtained were analyzed for variance, if there were significant differences a further test was carried out with Duncan's test. The results of this study indicated that the protein level had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the visceral organs of wandering whistling ducks. The lowest protein level, namely 12%, did not have a negative effect on the visceral organs of wandering whistling ducks.This study can be concluded that the protein level of 12% -18% in a feed of wandering whistling ducks has the same effect on the development of visceral organs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui untuk mengevaluasi pemanfaatan ekstrak daun ketapang kering (Terminalia cattapa L.) sebagai additive dalam air minum terhadap bobot hidup, bobot dan presentase karkas, non karkas dan lemak abdominal. Penelitian ini menggunakan ayam broiler unsex strain Ross sebanyak 200 berumur 14 hari dengan bobot badan awal rata – rata 546,85±20,28 g. Pakan yang digunakan yaitu pakan ayam broiler komersil fase starter CP 511. Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan 5 perlakuan dan 5 kali ulangan yaitu : T0 (tanpa ekstrak cair daun ketapang kering), T1 (1% ekstrak cair daun ketapang kering dalam air minum), T2 (1,5% ekstrak cair daun ketapang kering dalam air minum), T3 (2% ekstrak cair daun ketapang kering dalam air minum) dan T4 (2,5% ekstrak cair daun ketapang kering dalam air minum). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan prosedur analisis ragam dengan uji F pada taraf 5% dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan (p<0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tidak berpengaruh nyata (p>0,05) terhadap peningkatan bobot hidup, bobot dan persentase bobot karkas, non karkas dan penurunan lemak abdominal. Kesimpulan yaitu pemberian pemberian ekstrak cair daun ketapang kering sebagai additive dalam air minum dengan dosis 1% – 2,5% dinilai tidak efektif terhadap peningkatan produksi karkas ayam broiler.
