Abstract

Problem based learning is learning model suitable for 21st Century’s educational purpose. Concepts of learning material can be built using concept mapping. The objective of this research is to analyse the effectiveness of problem based learning model aided with concept mapping on the analysis of Senior High School students' ability (differentiating, organizing, and attributing aspect) in learning material of Immune System. The subject of this research is eleven grade students of SMA Negeri 12 Semarang and SMA Kesatrian 1 Semarang, each of these senior high schools provided two experimental classes. The design of this research is pre-experimental, with one group pretest-posttest design. The method of gathering data was used in this research is test and observation. Instruments that were analyzed in this research are multiple choice, students discussion’s worksheet, product of learning outcomes, and learning implementation. The snalysis ability of students from SMA Negeri 12 Semarang showed average of 80% with classical content mastering for XI-MIPA 4 and XI-MIPA 5 are 84,2% and 76,4% respectively. Average of N-gain is 0,4706 which categorized in medium criteria. The analysis ability of students from SMA Kesatrian 1 Semarang showed average of 73% with classical content mastering for XI-MIPA 1 and XI-MIPA 2 are 76,4% and 81% respectively. Average of N-gain is 0,4426 which categorized in medium criteria. Based on the research result can be drawn a conclusion that implementation of problem based learning aided with concept mapping is effective for increasing students’ analysis ability in SMA Negeri 12 Semarang and SMA Kesatrian 1 Semarang.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the influence of Conceptual Understanding Procedures (CUPs) learning model with the use of bio-quartet cards on the seventh grade students’ learning interest and outcomes on Energy material at SMP N 17 Tegal. The study employed Quasi Experimental; Nonrandomized Control Group Pretest and Posttest Design. Population of the study was all the seventh grade students from 8 classes in the academic year 2017/2018. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique, obtaining two classes as the subject of this study. VII G as the control group was taught using discovery learning model and VII H as the experimental group was given CUPs learning model with the use of bio-quartet cards. The result of this study showed N-gain of students’ learning outcomes of the experimental group was 0.33 and that of the control group was 0.24. Control group learning interest was stagnant, on the other hand, experimental group learning interest improved at 3% on “very interest” category. Students’ learning interest and outcomes of both groups were not significantly different. The correlation test results of the two variables clearly showed that students’ learning interest and outcomes do not relate significantly, both the experimental group and the control group.

Abstract

Bioprocess in cells consists of membrane transport, protein synthesis and cell reproduction. Material cannot be understood if only looking at pictures because the material is about a complex process contained in a cell. Practicum and animation video are learning media that can be used to help students visualize the material. Guided discovery learning helps students to construct their own knowledge gained by being actively involved in the learning process of practicum and animation video. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of guided discovery learning of bioprocess material in cells on student learning outcomes. Research methods is Pre-Experimental Design using One-Group Pretest Posttest. The results showed that 100% of students 'psychomotor learning outcomes were good, students' cognitive learning outcomes> 80% of students obtained grades score 70 and N gains were in the medium category. It can be concluded that learning bioprocess material in cells using guided discovery learning is an effective way to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

According to interview with biology teacher of 11th grade of SMA Negeri 9 Semarang, known that teaching-learning process on animal tissue topic implemented teacher-centered learning, so that low students’ participation in the classroom happened and also there is no laboratory activity which resulted in the low ability of science process. One way to solve that problem is to implement learning model that carry out scientific methods and student-centered learning called guided inquiry. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementation of guided inquiry model using LKPD on students’ science process skills as well as the learning outcomes. The participants are 72 students of 11th grade in science class 5 and 6 of SMA Negeri 9 Semarang in the first semester 2019/2020 academic year. This study used pre-experimental design with One Shoot Case design. Implementation of guided inquiry model using LKPD is effective if ≥ 90% score of science process skills reach a minimum of good criteria and excellent, ≥ 75% of students are able to reach the minimum criteria for completeness of studying (KKM ≥ 70) and enhancement pretest-posttest (N-gain) score are in the medium-high category of ≥ 90% students. The results show science process skills in 97,15% of students reach good and excellent criteria, completeness of studying score in 93,06% of students reach the minimum criteria for completeness of studying (KKM ≥ 70) as well as the enhancement pretest-posttest (N-gain) score in 100% of students are in the middle to high category. This study has identified guided inquiry model using LKPD of animal tissue topic as effective implementation strategy for developing science process skills of students as well as boosting the learning outcomes of students in SMA Negeri 9 Semarang.

Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan model pembelajaran Group Investigation dapat meningkatkan  hasil belajar dan aktivitas siswa pada materi bahan kimia dalam makanan di SMP N 4 Temanggung. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian eksperimental menggunakan desain Control Group pretest-posttest. Sampel yang digunakan adalah kelas VIII C dan VIII D. Analisis uji t menunjukkan bahwa selisih post test – pre test kelas eksperimen berbeda dengan kelas kontrol. Selisih nilai post test – pre test dan nilai ketuntasan belajar kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibanding kelas kontrol. Peningkatan hasil belajar kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,59 sedangkan untuk kelas kontrol sebesar 0,48. Ketuntasan belajar pada kelas eksperimen (78,13%) lebih tinggi dibanding kelas kontrol (43,75%). Aktivitas siswa kelas eksperimen 71% (aktif) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol 55% (cukup aktif). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Group Investigation dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan aktivitas siswa pada materi bahan kimia dalam makanan di SMP Negeri 4 Temanggung.Abstract:The purpose of this research was to know whether the use of Group Investigation learning model can improve the students’ activities and score on the chemistry in the food learning material at SMP N 4 Temanggung or not.The research used was experimental research using control group pretest posttest design. The samples were VIII C and VIII D class.T test analysis showed that the difference between pretest and post test of control class was different from experiment class.The differences of the pretest and posttest score of experiment class were higher than the control class.The score improvement of experiment class was 0.59 while control class was 0.48. The total score of experiment class was (78.13%) higher than control class (43.75%). The activeness of experiment class (71%) was more than control class (55%). Based on the result, it can be concluded that the use of Group investigation learning model can improve the students’ score and activeness on the chemistry in the food learning material at SMP N 4 Temanggung.

Abstract

Ploceidae family’s birds in Indonesia consist of 41 species include 13 species as Java’s endemic. Some species of Ploceidae family were start to rarely oberved, because of new house developing and hunting as a pets, zoo collection and education kit. It’s need some efforts to conserve these rare species through improving the habitat, rehabilitation, nursery, controlling, law inforcement for hunters, and genetic conservation according to a knowledgement of genetic variation. The research aimed to knew the length fragmen of ND3 DNAmt Gen and genetic variation among species of Ploceidae family’s birds. 11 species were observe for morphology’s characteristic than blood sample were collected for DNA isolation with Dixit methode. ND3 gen were amplificated by DNA isolated with PCR used H11151 and L10755 primer. PCR’s gain were visualized with 2 % agarose gel. The length fragmen of ND3 DNAmt were 321bp for Bondol Jawa, 338 bp for Bondol Haji and Bondol Peking, 393 bp for Burung Gereja Erasia, 413 bp for Manyar Emas, 406 bp for Gelatik Jawa, 334 bp for Manyar Tempua and Manyar Jambul, 351 bp for Pipit Benggala, 333 bp for Bondol Hijau Binglis, 317 bp for Pipit Zebra. The conclusion of this research were : 1). the length variation of ND3 DNAmt Gen among 11 species range from 317 – 413 bp and 2). morphological variation and length variation of ND3 DNAmt Gen shows that there was genetic variation among species of Ploceidae family’s birds. Abstract

This study aims to analyze profile of students' scientific literacy in immune system material seen by aspects of competence (science process), content (knowledge), and context (application) through problem-based learning (PBL). This study used an experimental method, namely one shot case study design. The population used in this study is class XI SMAN 1 Palimanan with a research sample of class XI MIPA 1,2,3,6 amount of 134 students. Instrument used a reasoning multiple choice test sheet to measure students' scientific literacy profiles and interview sheet to add data the results of the scientific literacy test. Sub-material used the concept of immune system material and its application. The results showed that contained on 4 students (2.99%) in very high category of scientific literacy, 22 students in high category (16.42%), 63 students in medium category (47.01%), 18 students in low category ( 13.44%) and 27 students in very low category (20.14%). Indicators explaining scientific phenomena can be achieved well with the number of students 45 and the proportion of achievement is 33.58%; scientific scientific survey can be achieved well with the number of students 53 and the proportion of achievement is 39.55% .; interpret data and scientific evidence well with the number of students 49 and the proportion of achievement is 36.57%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that students' scientific literacy is in the medium group.

Abstract

The Mangrove Morosari Demak was once a densely populated area, but due to the abrasion process of the Java Sea, the area was eventually submerged. This condition affects the survival of Gastropods and Bivalves. This study aims to develop an e-booklet based on the research of Gastropods and Bivalves’ Diversity in the Mangrove Morosari Demak. The e-booklet is named GAVIAMORIDA which stands for Gastropods and Bivalves in the Mangrove Morosari Demak. This development research uses the ADDIE method with 5 stages: Analyse, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate. This research resulted a kind of e-booklet “GAVIAMORIDA” with detailed information about 11 types of Gastropods and 1 Bivalves which found in the Mangrove Morosari Demak. The average value of diversity index (H ') is 2.116 (moderate), evenness index (E) is 0.912 (high), and dominance index (C) is 0.131 (stable). The results of the validation from two kinds validators (experts and users) were 85.61% which were classified as "very valid" and "Feasible to produce with revisions according to suggestions". The results of the effectiveness of the GAVIAMORIDA e-booklet showed a high N-Gain value of 0.73. The conclusion of this study is the GAVIAMORIDA e-booklet feasible and effective as an alternative source of learning for high school students.

Abstract

The diversity of fish as an environmental potential found in Tuban Regency can be used as a supplement to contextual-based teaching materials which are packaged in the form of a digital encyclopedia. Smartphone owned by students can be used in learning biology. This study aims to 1) Study and describe the diversity of fish at TPI Bulu Bancar and Gelondonggede Tambakboyo Tuban, 2) Assess product characteristics, 3) Test product validity based on material and media, 4) Test product effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes , and 5) Testing the practicality of the product. This research belongs to Research and Development. Observation is used as the data collection methodology in obtained fish biodiversity. The development is in the form of an android-based digital encyclopedia which is then used as a supplement to teaching materials for biodiversity. The trial was conducted at SMAN 1 Bancar Tuban by taking control and experimental classes. The results showed 1) The diversity of fish species found in TPI Bulu Bancar and Gelondonggede Tambakboyo Tuban each consisted of 17 species and 23 species, 2) Product characteristics were developed in digital form containing material on biodiversity of fish, 3) Validity by material experts valid criteria and media experts with very valid criteria. 4) The effectiveness test is seen from the increase in cognitive learning outcomes. The digital encyclopedia of fish diversity can be used as a supplement to teaching materials on contextual-based biodiversity materials.

Abstract

This research aims to test the validity and effectiveness of Problem Based Learning (PBL) oriented e-magazine teaching materials in improving critical thinking skills and caring attitude towards laboratory work safety. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) research that uses the ADDIE model by applying a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects in this study were 51 students of class X MIA SMA N 7 Jambi City. Research instruments in the form of expert validation questionnaires, questionnaires on the readability of teaching materials, critical thinking skills test questions and attitudes about laboratory safety. The data analysis of the expert, practitioner, legibility and practicality validation questionnaire data showed that the validity of the e-magazine was considered very valid. Effective teaching materials improve critical thinking skills seen from the posttest average of the experimental class is 80.1 and the control class is 71.3. The average N-gain of the experimental class is 0.59 (medium) and in the control class is 0.33 (medium). Effective teaching materials increase the attitude of caring for safety as seen from the posttest average of the experimental class of 79.6 and the control class of 74.7. The average N-gain of the experimental class is 0.55 (medium) and in the control class is 0.42 (medium). Based on the research results, PBL-oriented e-magazines are valid for use in learning and are effective in improving critical thinking skills and caring attitude towards laboratory safety.
