Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA melalui pembelajaran model examples non examples dengan berbantuan powerpoint. Model pembelajaran examples non examples adalah suatu model pembelajaran yang menggunakan gambar yang sesuai dengan kompetensi dasar. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa terdapat kenaikan rata-rata nilai dan prosentase ketuntasan belajar. Pada siklus 3 siswa yang tuntas 80,4 %, sesuai dengan ketercapaian indikator keberhasilan yang ditetapkan. Berdasarkan hasil yang telah dicapai maka dapat disimpulkan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model examples non examples dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA. The objective of the research is to increase the result of learning Science through learning model of ‘examples non examples’ with power point. learning model of ‘examples non examples’ is a learning model which uses pictures related to basic competence. The result of the research obtains the increase score and the percentage of learning exhaustiveness. On the third cycle, the student learning exhaustiveness obtains 80,4 %. It refers to the success indicator established. The conclusion is that through learning model of ‘examples non examples’ can increase the result of Science learning.

Abstract

Hiperglikemia merupakan faktor risiko terjadinya diabetes mellitus (DM). Salah satu pengelolaan penyakit DM adalah konsumsi makanan tinggi serat dan rendah indeks glikemik. Umbi garut (Marantha arundinaceae L) merupakan bahan pangan dengan tinggi serat dan rendah indeks glikemik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmembuktikan pengaruh infusa umbi garut terhadap kadar glukosadan insulin plasma tikus yang diinduksi streptozotocyn (STZ). Sebanyak 30 ekor tikus putih galur wistar jantan dibagi secara acak menjadi 5 kelompok, masing-masing terdiri dari 6 ekor. Kelompok I (KI; kontrol sehat), diberi Na.CMC 1%. Kelompok II, III, IV dan V diinduksi hiperglikemia dengan pemberian STZ 40 mg/kgBB dosis tunggal secara intra peritoneal (i.p). Kelompok II (KII; kontrol negatif) tidak diberi infusa umbi garut, kelompok III, IV dan V berturut-turut diberi infusa umbi garut 120mg/kgBB; 240mg/kgBB, dan 360mg/kgBB. Infusa diberikan selama 28 hari. Kadar glukosa darah diukur dengan spektrofotometer, sedangkan kadar insulin diukur dengan ELISA.Data kadar glukoda dan insulin, masing-masing dianalisis statistik uji Kruskal Walis dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa rerata kadar glukosa dan insulin plasma tikus KI berbeda nyata dengan KII dengan nilai p<0,05. Sementara KI tidak berbeda nyata dengan KIII, KIV, dan KV. Kelompok KII berbeda nyata dengan semua kelompok lainnya (p<0,05). Disimpulkan bahwa pemberian infusa umbi garutberpengaruh terhadap kadar glukosa dan insulin plasmatikus yang diinduksi STZ. Variasi dosis infusa umbi garut dalam penelitian ini, tidak berpengaruh terhadap perbedaan kadar glukosa dan insulin plasma tikus yang diinduksi STZ. Kata Kunci :umbi garut, glukosa darah, insulin plasma, streptozotocynHyperglycemia is a risk factor of Diabetes Mellitus (DM). One of the management of DM is by eat high-fiber and low glycemic index food. Arrowroot tuber (Marantha arundinaceae L) is a food with high fiber and low glycemic index content. The aim of this study was to prove the effect of Arrowroot tuber infusion on glucose and insulin levels of mices’ plasma which is induced by streptozotocyn (STZ). As many as 30 male wistar white mice were divided randomly into 5 groups, each group consists of 6 male wistar white mice. Group I (GI; healthy control), was given 1% Na.CMC. Group II, III, IV and V was induced hyperglycemia by addition 40 mg/kg(bw) of STZ single dose intra-peritoneally (i.p). Group II (GII; negative control) was not given arrowroot tuber infusion, group III, IV and V were given 120mg/kg(bw); 240mg/kg(bw), and 360mg/kg(bw) arrowroot tuber infusion respectively. Infusa was given for 28 days. Blood glucose levels were measured by spectrophotometer, insulin levels were measured by ELISA. Data of glucose and insulin levels were analyzed statistically by Kruskal Walis test with a significance level of 0.05. The results of the statistical analysis showed that the mean of glucose and insulin levels of GI rats’plasma were significantly different from GII rats’plasma with value of p <0.05. In the other hand, GI is not significantly different from GIII, GIV, and GV. The GII group was significantly different from all other groups (p <0.05). It was concluded that the addition of garut tuber infusion affected the levels of glucose and insulin of rats’ plasma which was induced by STZ. Variations of arrowroot tuber infusion doses in this study did not affect to the differences in glucose and insulin levels of rats’ plasma which was induced by STZ.

Abstract

Jembrana diseases are caused by Jembrana Diseases Virus (JDV). The previous study showed that Jembrana Trans-Activator of Trancriptation (JTAT) recombinant protein is effective as a vaccine for Jembrana diseases. The production of JTAT protein needs to be optimized to obtain a higher amount of vaccine. High expression of JTAT protein will produce a high vaccine product. This study aimed to examine the effect of the addition of ethanol and IPTG in E. coli media on the expression of JTAT recombinant protein. This research was experimental research with factorial RAL design with a variation factor of ethanol and IPTG. Qualitatively, the induction of each IPTG, ethanol and interaction between the two could induce the expression of JTAT protein and could be identified with SDS-PAGE at ±11.8 kDa. Statistically, the induction of IPTG, ethanol and interaction between the two were not significantly different. Qualitative and quantitative data show that ethanol can induce JTAT protein expression. This result can be used as a preliminary study to test the effectiveness of ethanol as a substitute for IPTG in inducing the recombinant protein expression.

Abstract

TK Wiji is a nursery school which was built at Jl. Untung Suropati no. 10  kelurahan Tegalrejo kota Pekalongan based on NPSN 69879295 of 2005 by Yayasan 99. TK Wiji is growing fast due to its education system which is in line to the 2013 national curriculum with the vision of toodler characteristic development. The most fundamental of character education is environment education. Considering to this situation, we have found that the most common litter of the nursery is disposable diaper. This kind of diaper is hardly degraded into its monomer. Colon’s research in 2013 has found a strategy to use this diaper as compost. Based on the problem of disposable diaper wastes in the nursery and also the result of the background research about exploiting the waste as compost, then the environment education for toodler of TK Wiji by using diaper waste as a material for hidroponic cultivation was done. In the beginning, guidances were given to the teacher in 2 phases which are making diaper waste composite into organic fertilizer and making hidrogel for interior plant cultivation by using the gel of the waste. In the next step, the teachers were asked to make improvisation regarding toodler environment education by using the skills. In spite of this, there was still an argument about the time management in the learning process by using diaper waste as the material. Thus an implementation of the skill for toodler extracuricular was stated.

Abstract

Problem based learning is learning model suitable for 21st Century’s educational purpose. Concepts of learning material can be built using concept mapping. The objective of this research is to analyse the effectiveness of problem based learning model aided with concept mapping on the analysis of Senior High School students' ability (differentiating, organizing, and attributing aspect) in learning material of Immune System. The subject of this research is eleven grade students of SMA Negeri 12 Semarang and SMA Kesatrian 1 Semarang, each of these senior high schools provided two experimental classes. The design of this research is pre-experimental, with one group pretest-posttest design. The method of gathering data was used in this research is test and observation. Instruments that were analyzed in this research are multiple choice, students discussion’s worksheet, product of learning outcomes, and learning implementation. The snalysis ability of students from SMA Negeri 12 Semarang showed average of 80% with classical content mastering for XI-MIPA 4 and XI-MIPA 5 are 84,2% and&nbsp; 76,4% respectively. Average of N-gain is 0,4706 which categorized in medium criteria. The analysis ability of students from SMA Kesatrian 1 Semarang showed average of 73% with classical content mastering for XI-MIPA 1 and XI-MIPA 2 are 76,4% and&nbsp; 81% respectively. Average of N-gain is 0,4426 which categorized in medium criteria. Based on the research result can be drawn a conclusion that implementation of problem based learning aided with concept mapping is effective for increasing students’ analysis ability in SMA Negeri 12 Semarang and SMA Kesatrian 1 Semarang.

Abstract

Pembelajaran biologi mengalami kesulitan disebabkan konsep fisiologis yang abstrak, salah satunya adalah materi sistem saraf manusia. Sebagai solusi alternatif dengan mengkombinasikan strategi pembelajaran secara tatap muka di kelas (face to face) dengan strategi pembelajaran berbasis e-learning, yaitu strategi pembelajaran blended learning. Untuk itu diperlukan perangkat pembelajaran menggunakan strategi blended learning yang dapat menumbuhkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) menghasilkan perangkat blended learning sistem saraf manusia yang dapat memfasilitasi siswa untuk berpikir kritis, 2) menganalisis validitas, efektivitas, dan kepraktisan perangkat blended learning. Penelitian dan pengembangan (R &amp; D) dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model 4-D yang meliputi tahapan Define, Design, Develop, tanpa tahap Desseminate, sedangkan “one sample group pretest-posttest design” sebagai desain penelitian pada tahap pengujian skala luas. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan adalah silabus, RPP, bahan ajar. Uji coba skala kecil kelas XI IPA 1 dan skala besar kelas XI IPA 2 dilakukan pada siswa kelas XI IPA SMA N 1 Larangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perangkat blended learning sistem saraf manusia yang dikembangkan memiliki kriteria valid dengan rata-rata ≥ 0,70 peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dengan kategori tinggi N-Gain ≥ 0,70. Ketuntasan klasikal hasil belajar 85% dan keterampilan berpikir kritis 90%. Perangkat pembelajaran dapat memfasilitasi siswa berpikir kritis karena blended learning membuat siswa berfikir secara holistik dan memunculkan pertanyaan serta jawaban kritis. &nbsp; Learning of biology gets difficulty because of abstract physiology concept, either is nervous system. Alternative solution is combinating learning strategy face to face with learning strategy based e-larn, that is blended learning strategy. Therefor, it is needed to use blended learning in learning device which can increase students critical thinking skill. The purpose of this research are: 1) produce learning device of nervous system using blended learning system that can facilitate students to think critically, 2) analie validity, efectivity, and practicity learning device using blended learning stretegy. Research and development in this research in using 4-D model, define, design, develop, without desseminate whereas “one sample group pretest-posttest design”. Learning device that is developed are sylabus, lesson plan, and teaching materials. Experiments/ trials in small scale and scale are done in grade XI sains students of SMA N 1 Larangan. Research result of learning device of nervous system using blended learning system developed have validity on the average 87,3, raising students critical thinking skill is high N-gain 0,70. Clasical completeness of learning result 85% and critical thinking skill is 90%

Abstract

Keong mas (Pomaceacanaliculata) hama padi yang banyak ditemukan di Mijen, Kota Semarang, diolah menjadi pupuk organik cair asam amino (pocamino) karena memiliki kandungan protein tinggidan lemak yang rendah. Hal tersebut merupakan kajian potensi dan masalah lokal, dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber penyusunan bahan ajar kontekstual untuk memberikan pengalaman belajar nyata bagi siswa. Bahan ajar yang dikembangkan berbentuk booklet, berukuran kecil dan tipis, berisi penjelasan ringkas, sistematis, dilengkapi gambar/ilustrasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan pengembangan booklet berdasarkan kajian potensi dan masalah lokal sebagai suplemen bahan ajar materi pemupukan di SMK Pertanian dan menganalisis kelayakan booklet. Penelitian mengunakan desain penelitian dan pengembangan yang diawali riset di lapangan mengenai pengolahan hama keong mas menjadi pocamino. Data yang diambil yaitu analisis kebutuhan lingkungan dan sekolah, data kandungan dan hasil aplikasi pocamino, data kelayakan booklet olehpenilaian ahli dan pengguna dengan lembar validasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, pocamino memiliki kandungan unsur hara N, P, K dan asam amino dengan kadar yang beragam. Disimpulkan bahwa booklet yang dikembangkan berdasarkan kajian potensi dan masalah lokal dinilai layak sebagai suplemen bahan ajar materi pemupukan di SMK Pertanian karena memperoleh skor rata-rata 4,7 dari ahli, skor 89,3% dari tanggapan guru dan 88,87% dari siswa. Golden apple snail (Pomaceacanaliculata) became major pest of rice found in MijenSemarang,used as amino acid organic liquid fertilizer (pocamino) because has high protein and low fat. This study of potential and local problems, can be utilized as source of contextual teaching materials to provide real learning experience for students. The teaching materials developed became booklet, containsbrief explanation, systematic and equipped with pictures/illustrations. The aims of this research are, to describe development of booklet based on the study of potential and local problems as teaching material supplement of fertilizing at SMK Pertanian and analyze feasibility of booklet. This research and development begins with field research on processing golden apple snail into pocamino. Data collected are environmental and school requirement analysis, pocamino content and application data, booklet feasibility by expert and user assessment, with validation sheet. Results showed that pocamino contain N, P, K nutrients and amino acids with varying levels. The conclusion was, bookletthat developed based onstudy of potential and local problems suitable as teaching material supplement of fertilizing in SMK Pertanian, because got average score 4.7 from experts, 89.3% from teachers and 88.87% from students.

Abstract

Profesionalitas guru biologi merupakan salah satu faktor penentu keberhasilan proses belajar mengajar biologi di sekolah. Penelitian mengenai profesionalitas guru telah banyak dilakukan, namun informasi mengenai profesionalitas guru biologi di SMAS Katolik Bhaktyarsa Maumere masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan profesionalitas guru biologi, mendeskripsikan pemahaman dan tingkat partisipasi siswa dalam pembelajaran biologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Subjek penelitian ditentukan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, terdiri dari narasumber utama dan narasumber pendukung. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengisian skala psikologi, wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data ditentukan dengan menggunakan triangulasi teknik dan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa guru biologi SMAS Katolik Bhaktyarsa Maumere memenuhi kualitas professional engagement, sedangkan professional knowledge dan professional practice masih mengalami kendala yang perlu dibenahi. Umumnya siswa berpartisipasi aktif dan mampu memahami materi yang disampaikan guru biologi. &nbsp; Biology teacher professionalism is one of the critical factors for the quality of biology teaching and learning at schools. Research on teacher professionalism has been widely implemented, but there is still limited information about the biology teacher professionalism at the Private Catholic Senior High School of Bhaktyarsa Maumere. This research aimed to analys the biology teacher professionalism, describe students’ understanding and participations in learning biology. This research used a qualitative method with case study approaches. The participant subjects were decided by using purposive sampling technique. It consists of main informers and supporting informers. The data was collected from interview, filled questionnaire, observation, and documentation. Validity of data was improved by triangulation techniques and sources. The result showed that the biology teachers at the school ready satisfied the quality of professional engagement, meanwhile there were some problems found in term of their professional knowledge and practice. In general, the students were actively participated in their biology class and capable of understanding the content material presented by biology teacher.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the influence of Conceptual Understanding Procedures (CUPs) learning model with the use of bio-quartet cards on the seventh grade students’ learning interest and outcomes on Energy material at SMP N 17 Tegal. The study employed Quasi Experimental; Nonrandomized Control Group Pretest and Posttest Design. Population of the study was all the seventh grade students from 8 classes in the academic year 2017/2018. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique, obtaining two classes as the subject of this study. VII G as the control group was taught using discovery learning model and VII H as the experimental group was given CUPs learning model with the use of bio-quartet cards. The result of this study showed N-gain of students’ learning outcomes of the experimental group was 0.33 and that of the control group was 0.24. Control group learning interest was stagnant, on the other hand, experimental group learning interest improved at 3% on “very interest” category. Students’ learning interest and outcomes of both groups were not significantly different. The correlation test results of the two variables clearly showed that students’ learning interest and outcomes do not relate significantly, both the experimental group and the control group.
