Abstract

The rapid development of information technology highlights the importance of understanding Management Information Systems (MIS) in supporting the efficiency and effectiveness of organizational decision-making. This study aims to explain the basic concepts of MIS, its components, and its benefits in a management context. This study uses a qualitative approach through a literature review of various relevant journals and books. The research findings indicate that MIS is an integration of people, machines, procedures, and information technology designed to produce quality information. MIS not only improves the quality of managerial decisions but also accelerates workflow and improves overall organizational performance. By understanding MIS thoroughly, organizations can more easily adapt to change and remain competitive.

Abstract

Although students are usually self-motivated, external factors are still needed to increase their learning motivation. Pre-survey results indicate that schools do not use project-based learning models when teaching. This study aims to implement Islamic values-based project-based learning in learning materials on bacteria in high schools: an effort to increase student learning motivation. This research method is a Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE Model with a non-equivalent control group design to differentiate between the experimental and control classes through pretests and posttests. This research was conducted at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar Lampung during the 2022/2023 academic year. The population of this study was all tenth-grade students, with sampling carried out using cluster random sampling. The data collection technique used tests administered twice, namely pretests and posttests. Data analysis techniques to determine whether there is an effect of the use of the Project-Based Learning approach model on student learning motivation were carried out using the T-test and N-Gain. The results of the analysis indicate that the development of the Islamic values-based Project-Based Learning model is suitable for learning on bacteria material and has a simultaneous positive effect on increasing student learning motivation.

Abstract

The development of Islamic boarding school education has brought changes to various aspects of human life. Although traditionalists are often not completely affected, there are similarities between traditional Islamic boarding school educational institutions and modernist changes. One of the Islamic boarding school education figures who made a contribution was KH. Abdul Wahid Hasyim, is known as a bridge between Islamic boarding school civilization and modern civilization. This research focuses on two main problems, namely the form of reform of Islamic boarding school education from the perspective of KH. Abdul Wahid Hasyim and its relevance to contemporary Islamic education. The research method used is library study, collecting data from various library sources such as books and articles related to Islamic boarding school education reform. The research results show that the idea of renewing Islamic boarding school education by KH. Abdul Wahid Hasyim emerged from disappointment with colonialism which was detrimental to indigenous people. These reform efforts include institutional, methodological, library and curriculum aspects. KH. Abdul Wahid Hasyim also founded Madrasah Nizamiyyah and developed Islamic higher education, which later developed into the State Islamic University (UIN). This reform plays an important role in advancing Islamic boarding school education and educating society. Its relevance to contemporary Islamic education can be seen in the transformation of Islamic higher education institutions in Indonesia. Thus, the contribution of KH. Abdul Wahid Hasyim has formed the foundation for the development of modern Islamic education in this country.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of integrating religious moderation values into Arabic language instruction through a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model refined by Classroom Action Research (CAR). The objective was to enhance students’ linguistic competence while fostering moderate dispositions such as tolerance, balance, and non-violence. The study applied a two-cycle CAR design (planning–action–observation–reflection) involving one undergraduate class of Islamic Religious Education. Learning materials and PBL cases were developed around themes of tawassuṭ (moderation), justice, and equity, and implemented through case analysis, group discussion, and role-play. Data were gathered from performance assessments, observation checklists, field notes, and attitude questionnaires, analyzed using descriptive statistics and thematic reduction across cycles. Findings indicated consistent improvements from Cycle 1 to Cycle 2 in student engagement, reading comprehension, translation accuracy, and the demonstration of balanced reasoning and respectful disagreement in Arabic discourse. These gains were supported by iterative refinements in task design, scaffolded questioning, and structured peer feedback. Conclusion: The study concludes that moderation-oriented PBL, developed through iterative CAR cycles, provides a practical and replicable approach to simultaneously strengthening Arabic language proficiency and internalizing moderation values within Islamic higher education.

Abstract

Creativity is an essential 21st-century skill; however, observations and interviews revealed that students’ creativity in biology learning remains low. This study aimed to analyze the development procedures, feasibility, teachers’ and students’ responses, and the effectiveness of a project-based learning e-module integrated with ClassPoint.io gamification. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4D model, involving two subject-matter experts, two media experts, one language expert, teachers, and 30 tenth-grade senior high school students. Validation results indicated very high feasibility (media 91%, content 91%, language 93%). Teachers’ responses reached 85%, while students’ responses were 88% (limited scale) and 91% (large scale). The t-test results showed a significant effect (0.000 < 0.05), indicating that the e-module is effective in enhancing students’ creativity.
