Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana hubungan antara penguasaan diksi dan kalimat efektif dengan keterampilan menulis teks berita anggota Komunitas Balai Jurnalistik Mahasiswa (BJM) UMBARA. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan teknik korelasional. Teknik korelasional merupakan suatu teknik penelitian yang berpusat pada analisis hubungan yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui serta menganalisis terdapat atau tidaknya hubungan diantara variabel yang diteliti. Adapun pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan beberapa macam seperti observasi, wawancara tak terstruktur dan tes berupa soal pilihan ganda dan uraian. Penentuan sampel menggunakan cluster sampling dengan jumlah sampel 37 responden. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, didapatkan bahwa terdapat tiga hasil yang didapatkan pada penelitian ini. Hasil perhitungan diperoleh kesimpulan: (1) Variabel penguasaan diksi memiliki korelasi positif dengan variabel teks berita dengan hasil rhitung lebih besar dari rtabel yaitu 0,7982 > 0,324 dengan tingkat korelasi “kuat”. (2) Variabel kalimat efektif memiliki korelasi positif dengan variabel teks berita dengan hasil rhitung lebih besar dari rtabel yaitu 0,9047 > 0,324 dengan tingkat korelasi “sangat kuat”. (3) Variabel penguasaan diksi dan kalimat efektif secara bersama-sama memiliki korelasi positif dengan hasil rhitung lebih besar dari rtabel yaitu 0,8997 > 0,324 dengan tingkat korelasi “sangat kuat”. Artinya semakin baik penguasaan diksi dan kalimat efektif maka akan lebih baik keterampilan menulis teks berita.

Abstract

This study aims to identify, analyze, and synthesize relevant findings in previous studies to build a strong context for further investigation. The method used is a library study to analyze the feminist approach based on Sara Mills' theory, focusing on Subject Position Analysis, Gender Representation in Discourse, Power Relations, and Social and Historical Context. The main character, Re, embodies various subject positions, variously depicted as a victim and a strong figure facing patriarchal domination. The narrative critiques the patriarchal social structure, emphasizing gender inequality that persists across generations. Re's complex character reflects both vulnerability and strength, depicting the tension between her profession as a sex worker and her moral values ​​as a mother. The novel further explores the dynamics of power, particularly through characters such as Mami Lani, who exemplifies the domination of women in a patriarchal system, highlighting the interconnected nature of gender, power, and societal expectations. As such, the narrative serves as a critical examination of sexuality and social injustice.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing a literacy-based teaching module on improving critical thinking skills and cultural intelligence of Grade X students at Al-Amanah Islamic School, Lembang, West Java. This research employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pre-test and post-test experimental design. Data were collected using essay tests (to assess critical thinking) and Likert-scale questionnaires (to measure cultural intelligence). Statistical test results showed a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores on both variables. The paired samples t-test revealed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating that the implementation of the literacy-based teaching module significantly enhanced students’ critical thinking and cultural intelligence. These findings highlight the importance of developing teaching materials that integrate local cultural values and literacy strategies to strengthen student competencies in the face of educational globalization.

Abstract

Nilai religius sangat kental di era modern sekarang ini, salah satunya dengan penyebaran agama melalui dakwah, tidak bisa dilepaskan kemajuan digital sangat mempengaruhi peran penyeberannya, film menjadi objek yang sangat menarik untuk memvisualisasikannya, seperti film Qodrat 2 yang mempunyai pesan dan tujuan yang sejalan dengan penelitian. Nilai tauhid yang terdapat dalam setiap aktivitas sejalan dengan metode yang digunakan penulis dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dan pendekatan deskriptif. Metode kualitatif menjawab pertanyaan mengenai apa, mengapa, dan bagaimana dari sautu fenomena. Film Qodrat 2 mengilustrasikan sosok ustadz yang mempunyai kemampuan meruqiyah dengan pemahaman agama yang baik. Ditemukan 8 adegan dari tiga klasifikasi berdasarkan hakikat tauhid yang menjadi acuan dalam pembahasan yang merujuk pada rumusan masalah yang diangkat oleh penulis. Teknik yang digunakan penulis dalam menganalisis menggunakan teknik analisis isi, dengan mencatat lambang atau pesan sistematis dan mengiterpretasikannya berdasarkan rujukan kepada Ferdinan De Sausssure yang melihat penanda dan petanda yang terdapat pada film Qodrat 2 yang membentuk makna untuk mengajak penikmatnya ketika menonton film Qodrat 2 ini, dapat memahami pentingnya iman dan doa dalam kehidupan, mempertegas kenyakinan bahwa agama adalah pelindung dari kejahatan, dan memberikan apresiasi simbol-simbol keislaman yang memperkuat narasi horror religi yang ada pada film Qodrat 2.AbstractReligious values are very thick in today's modern era, one of which is the spread of religion through da'wah, it cannot be released that digital advances greatly affect the role of its transmission, films become very interesting objects to visualize it, such as the film Qodrat 2 which has messages and goals that are in line with research. The value of tawhid contained in each activity is in line with the method used by the author using qualitative methods and descriptive approaches. Qualitative methods answer questions about what, why, and how of a phenomenon. The movie Qodrat 2 illustrates the figure of an ustadz who has the ability to meruqiyah with a good understanding of religion. There were 8 scenes from three classifications based on the essence of tawhid which became a reference in the discussion that referred to the formulation of the problems raised by the author. The technique used by the author in analyzing using content analysis techniques, by recording symbols or messages systematically and interpreting them based on references to Ferdinan De Sausssure who sees the signifiers and signs contained in the Qodrat 2 film which form a meaning to invite viewers when watching this Qodrat 2 film, can understand the importance of faith and prayer in life, reinforce the belief that religion is a protector from evil, and appreciate Islamic symbols that strengthen the religious horror narrative in the Qodrat 2 film.

Abstract

Kesalahan yang sering muncul dalam kajian morfologi adalah kesalahan afiksasi. Kesalahan ini dalam sebuah berita dapat menyebabkan multitafsir oleh pembaca. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan kesalahan afiksasi pada teks berita online dan memperbaikinya sesuai kaidah bahasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Tahapan penelitian dimulai dengan pemilihan sumber data yakni teks berita online @CNBCIndonesia edisi Desember 2024. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode simak catat, teknik simak untuk memperoleh data dan catat untuk menganalisis kata atau kalimat. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa kesalahan afiksasi dalam media massa online @CNBCIndonesia edisi Desember 2024 yakni: (1) kesalahan morfonemik terkait dengann aspek morfologi dan fonologi. Hal ini terjadi kesalahan penggunaan fonem sebagai akibat pertemuan antara afiks dengan bentuk dasar. Faktor penyebab kesalahan ini adalah tidak menggunakan afiksasi yang tepat sesuai kaidah Bahasa Indonesia, tetapi hal ini dapat dibenarkan karena jurnalis menggunakan bahasa jurnalistik yang berpedoman menggunakan bahasa yang singkat, jelas dan mudah dipahami. (2) Kesalahan penggunaan afiksasi terkait semantik atau pemaknaan saat menentukan fungsi kata berafiks dalam kalimat sehingga penyajian informasi berita dapat sepnuhnya dijadikan rujukan informasi dalam berita, sehingga proses afiksasi kata dalam kalimat berita tidak menimbulkan multi tafsir. AbstractA common mistake in morphological studies is affixation errors. These errors in news can lead to multiple interpretations by readers. The objective of this research is to explain affixation errors in online news texts and to correct them according to language rules. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method. The research process begins with the selection of data sources, namely online news texts from @CNBCIndonesia in the December 2024 edition. The data collection technique uses the note-taking method, with the listening technique to acquire data and note-taking for analyzing words or sentences. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that affixation errors in online mass media @CNBCIndonesia in the December 2024 edition are: (1) morphonemic errors related to morphological and phonological aspects. This occurs due to errors in the use of phonemes as a result of the meeting between affixes and the root form. The factors causing this error are the improper use of affixation according to the rules of the Indonesian language, but this can be justified because journalists use journalistic language that adheres to using language that is brief, clear, and easy to understand. (2) The errors in the use of affixation are related to semantics or meaning when determining the function of affixed words in sentences, so that the presentation of news information can be entirely referenced in the news, thus the process of affixation of words in news sentences does not result in multiple interpretations.

Abstract

This study aims to explore language practices in popular scientific articles written by students using a pragmatic hermeneutic approach based on the ideas of Charles S. Peirce, William James, and John Dewey. This study focuses on how language in these writings not only functions as a means of conveying information but also as a social action that shapes consciousness, conveys values, and influences readers. The method used is descriptive qualitative with philosophical discourse analysis techniques applied to five student articles published in popular online media. The results of the study indicate that the language in these articles is reflective, persuasive, and transformative. Students position themselves as social subjects addressing historical, moral, cultural, and economic issues through language that shapes action. Popular scientific articles prove to be a medium for the practice of pragmatic language philosophy, where meaning is formed within a social context and directed toward real change.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tokoh dalam novel salah asuhan karya Abdoel Moeis. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah analisis isi dan analisis data pada tokoh Hanafi dalam novel salah asuhan. Data penelitian dikaji berdasarkan filsafat eksistensialisme yaitu dilihat dari segi aspek tokoh dari berbagai ahli filsafat yaitu (1) Krisis identitas dan kebebasan memilih, (2) Konflik batin dan keterasingan (alienasi) , (3) Pertanggungjawaban atas keputusan, (4) Makna hidup dan absurditas. Hasil analisis yaitu memberikan gambaran kepada pembaca untuk menerima absurditas kehidupan sambil tetap menjalani hidup dengan kesadaran penuh. Individu diharapkan memahami bahwa kebebasan selalu disertai dengan tanggung jawab atas setiap keputusan yang diambil. Selain itu, penting untuk menjaga keseimbangan identitas budaya dengan tetap menghormati serta mempertahankan nilai-nilai tradisional. Dengan demikian, seseorang dapat mempertahankan identitasnya tanpa merasa terasing, serta menghindari sikap yang menganggap suatu budaya lebih unggul atau lebih rendah dari yang lain. Eksistensialisme menekankan bahwa makna hidup harus ditemukan dari dalam diri sendiri, bukan hanya berdasarkan standar atau nilai eksternal. Oleh karena itu, pembaca dianjurkan untuk tetap bersikap kritis terhadap perubahan budaya, agar tidak kehilangan jati diri dalam menghadapi dunia yang terus berkembang. Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of sentences in online news texts published by Antaranews.com in the March 2025 edition through a syntactic analysis approach. The main focus of the study is to analyze how the syntactic structure of sentences affects the clarity and accuracy of information delivery in news texts. The background of this study is based on the widespread use of long and complicated sentences in online news that can hinder readers' understanding. The purpose of this study is to find ineffective sentence forms and to formulate the characteristics of syntactic structures that are able to convey information clearly and communicatively. The method used is qualitative descriptive with content analysis techniques on 20 news texts from various fields, namely politics, economics, social, and culture. The results of the analysis show that although most sentences use complex compound structures, not all of them are able to convey messages effectively. Some of the problems found include inconsistencies in the relationship between parts of the sentence, structural ambiguity, and excessive use of elements. These findings indicate the importance of constructing sentences that are denser, more straightforward, and easier to understand in writing online news.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a digital e-module on negotiation texts for tenth-grade students, integrating contextual content and interactive features in alignment with the Kurikulum Merdeka. Employing the ADDIE model Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation this research addresses students’ low performance in negotiation text writing and the limited use of engaging digital media in Indonesian language instruction. The e-module was designed using Canva for visual layout and Flipbook Maker for interactive delivery, incorporating authentic scenarios, annotated dialogues, and formative assessments. A mixed-methods approach was adopted, involving expert validation (media, language, and content), student and teacher questionnaires, interviews, observations, and pretest-posttest analysis. Thirty-eight students and two teachers from a public senior high school in Bogor participated in the implementation phase. Validation scores showed high feasibility (media: 90%, language: 100%, content: 96%), while student responses yielded a 92.21% effectiveness rating. Pretest and posttest results showed a substantial learning gain (N-Gain = 0.71), confirming the module’s effectiveness in enhancing students’ comprehension and writing of negotiation texts. The findings suggest that contextually responsive and visually engaging e-modules can significantly improve language learning outcomes. This research contributes to instructional material innovation by offering a feasible and adaptable digital solution for genre-based learning in Indonesian classrooms.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of canva in learning to write negotiation textsfor class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Pamijahan Kab. Bogor. The method used inthis research is experimental method. The data collection techniques used weretests, questionnaires, and observations. The population in this study were X gradestudents of SMA Negeri 1 Pamijahan Kab. Bogor. The samples of this study wereclass X 5 as the experimental class and class X 9 as the control class using clusterrandom sampling technique. The first hypothesis, namely the use of canva canimprove negotiation writing skills in SMA Negeri 1 Pamijahan Kab. Bogor classstudents in writing negotiation texts, was tested, as evidenced by the pretest dataobtained in the experimental class by obtaining the class average score, which was58.13 at the mastery level of less able. For the average post-test score of theexperimental class, 85.43 is at the very capable mastery level. Then, it can also beseen from the calculation of the mean obtained the price of tcount = 3.01 and theresults of d.b 58 with the ttable level t0.99 = 2.39 and t0.95 = 1.67. Thus the tcountis greater than the ttable, namely 1.67 < 3.01 > 2.39. The second hypothesis can betested, proven by the existence of student constraints from the results ofquestionnaire analysis as many as 12 or 40% of respondents experienced problemspouring ideas or thoughts. Then 9 or 30% of respondents experienced problemscomposing and analyzing sentences in writing negotiation texts. Furthermore, 10 or33% of respondents experienced problems using canva multimedia. Thus, it can beconcluded that the use of canva can improve negotiation text writing skills in classX students of SMA Negeri 1 Pamijahan Kab. Bogor.
