Abstract

Gastric ulcers are one of the common side effects that occur as a result of using non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) such as ketoprofen. The combination of turmeric extract (Curcuma domestica Val) and honey has the potential as an alternative therapy due to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and cytoprotective properties. This research aims to evaluate the effects of the combination of these two substances on gastric ulcers in mice induced by ketoprofen microscopically. To determine the effect of a combination of turmeric extract and honey on the histopathological profile of stomach ulcers in mice (Mus musculus) induced by ketoprofen. This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design. Mice were divided into several groups, namely the negative control group (without treatment), positive control (ketoprofen without therapy), and the treatment group that was given a combination of turmeric extract and honey with varying doses. Gastric ulcers are induced by administration of ketoprofen, followed by microscopic observation of gastric mucosal damage. The data was analyzed statistically to see significant differences between groups. Histopathological observations show that the group given a combination of turmeric extract and honey experienced a significant reduction in the level of gastric mucosal damage compared to the positive control group. The combination is capable of reducing inflammation, necrosis, and accelerating tissue regeneration. The combination of turmeric extract and honey is effective in reducing gastric ulcers in mice induced by ketoprofen microscopically. This research supports the potential use of both natural substances as adjuvant therapy to prevent or address gastric damage caused by NSAIDS.

Abstract

Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) is a herbaceous plant known to accumulate heavy metals from polluted waters. In Lake Tondano, this plant grows abundantly and helps reduce lead (Pb) levels through bioremediation. This study aimed to identify the genera of endophytic bacteria from water hyacinth (E. crassipes) that have potential as bioremediation agents for lead. This study employed an exploratory, descriptive, quantitative laboratory approach. Samples were collected from E. crassipes plants found in Lake Tondano at three different locations. The isolation method used was direct plating. The research stages included bacterial isolation, lead resistance testing at 50 ppm, lead reduction testing at 10, 20, and 30 ppm, lead concentration analysis, and bacterial identification using morphological and biochemical tests. Three isolates (EG.A1.5, EG.A2.4, and EG.D3.4) were found to be resistant and capable of reducing lead levels. The reduction percentages reached 35.9%, 72.2%, and 55.5%, respectively. Based on morphological and biochemical characteristics, the bacterial genera of three isolates were identified as Salmonella, Enterobacter, and Bacillus.

Abstract

Introduction: Effective implementation of health policy at the primary care level remains uneven, often limiting its impact on service quality and patient satisfaction. This study aimed to examine the effect of health policy implementation on service quality and patient satisfaction in primary care settings. Research Methodology: An analytical cross-sectional study was conducted among 145 patients attending primary healthcare facilities. Participants were selected using systematic random sampling. Health policy implementation was assessed across three domains: policy adherence, resource availability, and provider compliance. Service quality was measured using a modified SERVQUAL instrument, while patient satisfaction was assessed using a standardized Likert-scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, bivariate analysis, and multiple linear regression. Statistical significance was set at p < 0.05. Results: Health policy implementation showed a significant positive association with service quality (β = 0.52; 95% CI: 0.34–0.70; p < 0.001) and patient satisfaction (β = 0.47; 95% CI: 0.29–0.65; p < 0.001). Multivariate analysis revealed that policy adherence was the strongest predictor of service quality (β = 0.31; 95% CI: 0.18–0.44; p < 0.001) and patient satisfaction (β = 0.29; 95% CI: 0.16–0.42; p < 0.001), followed by resource availability and provider compliance, all of which remained statistically significant. Conclusion: The findings indicate that strengthening health policy implementation, particularly adherence and resource support, is essential to improve service quality and patient satisfaction. Policy efforts should prioritize implementation fidelity, workforce capacity, and equitable resource allocation to enhance patient-centered outcomes in primary healthcare.

Abstract

The teacher resources development becomes a central issue in public discussion. The plan, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of teacher resource development in Dinas Pendidikan Manado is being provoked and receives attention. The provoking issues play around on how teacher resouces development being planned, implemented, and evaluated. This study takes a qualitative approach and utilizes a case study method. In-depth interviews are the primary data collecting tools, followed by document study techniques/literature and observation. However, monitoring and evaluation success requires adequate implementation quality, appropriate monitoring and evaluation standards, and a special monitoring and evaluation budget. In conclusion, the government should inform and promote the pattern of execution of teacher resource development. That is, more attention and a dedicated budget for the creation of teaching resources are required. The pattern of teacher resource development monitoring and assessment is based on both internal and external stakeholders. The government must state and report the pattern of implementation of teacher resource development. This means that more attention and special budget are needed to create teaching resources. The pattern of monitoring and assessment of teacher resource development is based on internal and external interests. As a result, by using explicit and redundant standards, supervisor quality becomes an important predictor of successful monitoring and assessment.
