Abstract

Buku teks pelajaran berperan penting dan strategis dalam upaya meningkatkan mutu pendidikan dasar dan menengah. Buku teks dilengkapi dengan soal-soal latihan yang belum terklasifikasi tingkat kognitifnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kognitif soal uji kompetensi beserta persentase masing-masing tingkat kognitif soal uji kompetensi pada BSE Matematika SMP Kelas VII kurikulum 2013 semester 1 maupun semester 2. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa soal uji kompetensi BSE Matematika semester 1 mencakup 9 variasi soal dari 24 variasi soal menurut tingkat kognitif Revisi Taksonomi Bloom. Dari 166 pertanyaan, terdapat 6.6% tingkat C2-faktual; 17% tingkat C2-konseptual; 22% tingkat C2-prosedural; 3% tingkat C3-faktual; 6.6% tingkat C3-konseptual; 28% tingkat C3-prosedural; 1.8% tingkat C4-konseptual; 14% tingkat C4-prosedural; 0.6% tingkat C6-konseptual; dan 0% pertanyaan tingkat yang lainnya. Sedangkan pada BSE Matematika semester 2 mencakup 11 variasi soal. Dari 170 pertanyaan terdapat 0.6% tingkat C1-faktual; 0.6% tingkat C1-konseptual; 2.9% tingkat C2-faktual; 15% tingkat C2-konseptual; 15% tingkat C2-prosedural; 8.2% tingkat C3-konseptual; 30% tingkat C3-prosedural; 4.7% tingkat C4-konseptual; 5.3% tingkat C4-prosedural; 14% tingkat C5-konseptual; 4.1% tingkat C6 konseptual; dan 0% tingkat yang lain.Textbooks have an important and strategic role in improving the quality of primary and secondary education. Textbook comes with practice questions are not yet classified the cognitive level. The aims of this study are determining the level of cognitive matter competency test along with the percentage of each level of cognitive matter competency test on BSE Class VII SMP Math curriculum 2013 1st half and 2nd semester. Type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. It can be concluded that about half of the competency test BSE Mathematics 1 includes 9 variations of about 24 variations of matter according to the degree of cognitive Revised Bloom's Taxonomy. Of the 166 questions, there is a 6.6% rate of C2-factual; 17% C2-conceptual level; 22% C2-procedural level; 3% level C3-factual; 6.6% C3-conceptual level; 28% level of C3-procedural; 1.8% C4-conceptual level; 14% of C4-procedural level; 0.6% C6-conceptual level; and 0% of the questions that other level. While in the second half of BSE Mathematics includes 11 variations matter. Of the 170 questions contained 0.6% level of C1-factual; 0.6% C1-conceptual level; 2.9% rate of C2-factual; 15% C2-conceptual level; 15% C2-procedural level; 8.2% C3-conceptual level; 30% level of C3-procedural; 4.7% C4-conceptual level; 5.3% rate of C4-procedural; 14% of the C5-conceptual level; 4.1% C6 conceptual level; and the 0% level to another.

Abstract

The truth-seeking behaviour of students is the main predictor of someone having critical thinking behaviour. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research related to students' seeking behaviour in responding to mathematical problems. The purpose of this study was to describe the truth-seeking behaviour of students in working on problems with an unknown universe based on the IDEAL problem-solving model. This research was a qualitative descriptive study, with the stages were (1) determining the research subject, (2) making instruments, (3) giving questions to the subject and recording truth-seeking behaviour, (4) analyzing data, (5) triangulating between observations and interviews. interviews, and (5) conclusions. The results of this study are students tend not to behave truth-seeking in working on problems with an unknown universe based on the IDEAL model. However, students did the steps contained in the IDEAL model, although they did not use all the existing stages. In addition, students tend not to give conclusions that are in accordance with the purpose of the question after working on the problem.Perilaku truth-seeking siswa merupakan prediktor utama seseorang memiliki perilaku berpikir kritis. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan penelitian yang berkaitan dengan perilaku trth-seeking siswa dalam merespon permasalahan matematika. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan perilaku truth-seeking yang dimiliki oleh siswa dalam mengerjakan soal dengan semesta yang tidak diketahui berdasarkan model pemecahan masalah IDEAL. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, dengan tahapan (1) penentuan subjek penelitian, (2) pembuatan instrumen, (3) pemberian soal kepada subjek dan perekaman perilaku truth-seeking, (4) penganalisisan data, (5) triangulasi antara hasil pengamatan dan wawancara, dan (5) penyimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah siswa cenderung tidak berperilaku truth-seeking dalam mengerjakan soal dengan semesta yang tidak diketahui berdasarkan model IDEAL. Tetapi, siswa melakukan tahap-tahap yang terdapat di dalam model IDEAL, meskipun tidak menggunakan semua tahapan yang ada. Selain itu, siswa cenderung tidak memberikan kesimpulan yang sesuai dengan tujuan soal setelah mengerjakan soal tersebut.

Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the high-level thinking. Mathematics learning in globalization era usually uses critical thinking in solving problems. Mathematics is always thought as the difficult one to be learnt. This research will describe students critical thinking profile in solving the function of compositions through collaborative learning. This reseach can be used as the reference for teachers to recognize students critical thinking profile in their class, and also it can be used to motivate students to enhance their critical thinking ability. The critical thinking criterias are focus, reason, inference, situation, and overview. That criterias include eleven indicators. The type of collaborative learning in this research is Learning Together (LT). This research is descriptive with qualitative approach. The data were collected by documentation, observation, test, and interview. The subjects of this research are six students who are two high-achiever students, two medium-achiever students, and two low-achiever students from one of senior high school at Jember. High-achiever students can achieve all criterias of critical thinking and they dominate the role in learning and teaching activity. The medium-achiever students only fulfill focus in the first and second indicator, reason in the second, and inference, situation, clarity, and overview in the second indicator and also can join in the collaborative learning. While, the low-achiever students can only look to other students without get engaged actively in collaborative learning and only achieve focus in the first and second indicators of situation.

Abstract

Abstrak:Matematika merupakan aktivitas manusia dan bagian dari budaya. Hubungan antara budaya dan matematika dikenal sebagai etnomatematika. Pengintegrasian budaya dalam pembelajaran matematika dapat membantu siswa dalam memahami materi matematika yang abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan etnomatematika pada bangunan utama Asrama Inggrisan Banyuwangi yang merupakan bangunan bekas peninggalan kolonial dan menyimpan banyak kisah sejarah dari Inggris, Belanda hingga Jepang, serta memanfaatkan hasil penelitiannya menjadi question cards berbasis etnomatematika. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini, yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa arsitektur bangunan utama Asrama Inggrisan memiliki bentuk-bentuk yang dianggap merupakan representasi dari konsep geometri, diantaranya yaitu garis, sudut, bangun datar, bangun ruang sisi datar, kesebangunan dan kekongruenan, simetri, dan transformasi geometri.Abstract:Mathematics relates to the human’s activity and part of the culture. The relationship between culture and mathematics is known as ethnomathematics. Integrating culture in mathematics learning can help the students to understand abstract mathematical material. This research aims to describe the ethnomathematics on the main building of Inggrisan dormitory in Banyuwangi which is a former colonial heritage building and saves many historical stories from England, Netherlands, and Japan. The research used was qualitative research. Data collection procedures in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the architecture of the main building of Inggrisan dormitory in Banyuwangi had forms which were considered to be representations of geometrical concepts, including lines, angles, flat shapes, flat side spaces, congruence and concordance, symmetry, and geometric transformations which produced ethnomathematics-based question cards for mathematics learning.

Abstract

Etnomatematika hadir dalam rangka menjembatani antara peserta didik dan kebudayaan, sehingga matematika mudah dipahami. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan etnomatematika pada bentuk jajanan tradisional di desa Kemiren, Banyuwangi khas suku Osing dan menyusun lembar kerja peserta didik dengan melibatkan etnomatematika. Jajanan tradisional khas Osing di desa Kemiren, Banyuwangi dijadikan sebagai objek penelitian karena jajanan tersebut diyakini masih tetap terjaga keunikannya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Metode pengumpulan data yaitu observasi oleh 3 orang observer, wawancara dengan 3 pembuat jajanan tradisional khas suku Osing, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat etnomatematika pada bentuk jajanan tradisional di desa Kemiren, Banyuwangi khas suku Osing yaitu konsep bilangan pecahan dan bilangan bulat, konsep aljabar dan perbandingan, konsep bangun datar dan ruang, konsep transformasi, konsep kesebangunan dan kekongruenan, serta konsep aritmatika sosial.

Abstract

This research is meant to develop innovative teaching equipment which able to improve as well as conserve the culture through Mathematics learning. Learning equipment which is developed are in the form of students’ book and LKS (Student’s Work Book) of Mathematics subject of  VIIth grade concerning with the culture of Javanese and Maduries who lives in Jember district. This developmental study is planned in three steos, namely; theorethical study and needs analysis, formulation of learning equipments, as well as testing the equipments and eksperiment. The Model used in this research is developmental model of ADDIE, which divided into 5 phases, namely; Analysing, Designing, Developing, Implementing and Evalualing. The subject of this research are three students of VII grade of SMP (Junior High School). The product of this research is students book which based on Javanese and Maduries culture. The result of this research shows that students’ learning test in Squares subject based on Javanese and Maduries culture are good, with rate of 83,33. It can be conclude that students’ book of VII SMP which based on Javanese and Maduries culture in Squares Shapes material are effective to be used in teaching.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe the profile of algebraic thinking in junior high school students in solving mathematical problems in terms of cognitive style (reflective and impulsive). The subjects used were class VIII B Arjasa 1 Junior High School as many as 25 children. Data collection in this study used two test questions, namely the MFFT test (Matching Familiar Figure Test), algebra test and interviews with four students representing different cognitive styles (reflective and impulsive) . In this study students who have reflective cognitive style and students who have impulsive cognitive style can fulfill five indicators of algebraic thinking, namely generalization, abstraction, analytical thinking, dynamic thinking, and modeling. Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil PISA, rata-rata skor literasi matematika siswa Indonesia masih rendah yaitu 386 dari 500 skor rata-rata keseluruhan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan literasi matematika siswa field dependent (FD) dan siswa field independent (FI) dalam menyelesaikan soal PISA konten Change And Relationship ditinjau dari ketercapaian level literasi matematikanya. Soal PISA konten Change and Relationship berkaitan dengan materi kurikulum yaitu fungsi dan aljabar. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X MIPA 6 SMA Negeri 1 Jember dengan 29 siswa yang terdiri dari 6 siswa field dependent (FD) dan 23 siswa field independent (FI). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa level literasi matematika siswa field dependent berada pada level 2 (66,67% atau sebanyak 4 siswa) dan level 5 (33,33% atau sebanyak 2 siswa) serta level literasi matematika siswa field independent berada pada level 2 (13% atau sebanyak 3 siswa), level 5 (69,56% atau sebanyak 16 siswa) dan level 6 (17,4% atau sebanyak 4 siswa).

Abstract

Abstract.Ethnomatematics is the practice or daily activities of a society that has become a culture and there is the application of basic mathematical concepts. The purpose of this research is to describe ethnomatematics on the activities of hatching process of semi-natural green turtle eggs in Sukamade, Meru Betiri National Park to make teaching materials for students in the form of test questions and calculate the fractal dimensions on sand used for hatching the eggs of green turtle. This type of research is qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. The data collection methods used are observation and interviews. The research subjects were the UPKP (Turtle Conservation Management Unit), MMP (Gamekeeper Partner Community) and Facilitators. This study focuses on the activities to calculate, measure, and design. The mathematical concepts that arise are arithmetic operations, value comparisons, arithmetic series and geometric shapes. Fractal dimension calculations on natural and semi-natural sand in the process of hatching green turtle eggs with MATLAB aid program obtained the fractal dimensions on natural sand was 1.7252 and on semi-natural sand was 1.7273.
