Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of stunting prevention policies in Sinjai Regency. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This study found that the implementation of Sinjai Regent Regulation Number 40 of 2021 concerning the prevention and handling of stunting in Sinjai Regency has been carried out according to the established indicators. The main difference with previous studies is the focus on data collection related to the implementation of this policy, while previous studies had a different focus. The results of the study indicate that policy implementation can be seen in general from several key indicators. Communication is carried out through socialization and transmission of information to all parties involved, with an explanation of stunting accompanied by props to improve understanding. Clarity of information is important so that the community understands the issue of stunting well. Consistency among all parties involved is needed in implementing activities, supported by adequate resources and active participation from all stakeholders, including health center staff and other parties. Information must be disseminated widely, and the enthusiastic attitude of the implementers plays an important role in accelerating the reduction of stunting. The appointment of bureaucrats is accompanied by cooperation and periodic performance evaluation. The focus on preventing and handling stunting is carried out intensively with a bureaucratic structure that involves all parties as implementers of activities. All parties follow the established Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), and each party is fully responsible for implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of village governments in disaster mitigation efforts in Bonto Katute Village, Sinjai Borong District, Sinjai Regency. This village is an area with hilly geographical conditions that are prone to landslides and strong winds, so it demands an effective mitigation strategy. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews with village and community officials, and documentation. Based on preliminary data, the number of people affected by the landslide disaster until 2024 is 21 households. With limited infrastructure, human resources, and funding are common obstacles in the implementation of optimal mitigation in this village. The results of the study show that the Bonto Katute Village government has played a fairly active role in disaster mitigation through several main aspects. First, the integration of mitigation programs into village development planning and the preparation of village regulations that support environmental conservation. Second, the implementation of socialization and community education routinely collaborates with the Sinjai Regency BPBD. Third, the development of mitigation infrastructure such as soil retaining talud, drainage, and evacuation routes financed through village funds. Fourth, the provision of emergency facilities and the formation of disaster preparedness community groups as an effort to strengthen citizens' preparedness. Fifth, cross-sector coordination with BPBD, TNI, Polri, and NGOs in disaster management, both during emergency response and post-disaster rehabilitation. However, this study also found a number of obstacles such as budget limitations, low awareness of some people in protecting the environment, and lack of early warning technology. Overall, the role of the village government in disaster mitigation in Bonto Katute Village is quite good even though it is not optimal. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the budget, increase public awareness, use simple technology for early warning, and strengthen the institution of disaster preparedness villages so that Bonto Katute Village can become a disaster-resilient village in Sinjai Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Kaloling Village Government in efforts to increase the productivity of agricultural products and identify supporting factors and obstacles in its implementation. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The role of the Kaloling village government is very important in an effort to increase the productivity of agricultural products, considering that the challenges faced by farmers are complex and multidimensional. The village government can play a role as a facilitator who bridges the needs of farmers with programs from the central and regional governments. The results of the study show that the Kaloling Village Government plays an active role in encouraging increased agricultural productivity through extension programs, providing assistance for production facilities (seeds, fertilizers, agricultural tools), agricultural infrastructure development through the Village Fund, as well as support for agricultural institutions and digitalization. The implementation of these programs has had a significant impact on increasing agricultural yields, especially rice and horticultural commodities, with an increase in productivity of 12–15% in the last two years. In addition, village agricultural governance has become more adaptive and open to collaboration with external parties. However, obstacles are still found in the form of limited access to subsidized fertilizers and lack of regeneration of young farmers. Therefore, a sustainable and inclusive village policy is needed so that agricultural productivity can continue to be optimally increased.
