Abstract

Purpose – This study examines the influence of zakat fund distribution on the productive behavior patterns of mustahiks in Indonesia, involving the moderating role of financial literacy. This study additionally examines the alterations in the behavior patterns of mustahiks following the receipt of zakat fund assistance.Methodology – This study employed a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design to examine the behavioral impacts of zakat distribution. In the quantitative phase, survey data were collected from 109 purposively selected mustahiks, using Likert-type items. The data were analyzed through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to estimate the effects of Zakat distribution on both productive and consumptive behavior, while also testing the moderating role of financial literacy.Findings – The results show that the variable of zakat fund distribution has a positive and significant effect on the productive and consumptive behavior of mustahik. The interplay of Sharia financial literacy as a moderating component can affect the connection between zakat fund distribution.Implications – The results of this research can be used as a reference for zakat institutions to monitor the impact of zakat fund distribution on beneficiaries and understand the factors influencing it.Originality – This research contributes to the existing literature by providing concrete evidence regarding the impact of zakat fund distribution on the behavior patterns of mustahiks, whether they receive productive or consumptive zakat. Additionally, there is an examination of the role of financial literacy, which acts as a factor that can strengthen or weaken that relationship.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the influence of geopolitical risk and political economic uncertainty on the return of Sharia stocks. The study focuses on countries belonging to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Panel data regression analysis technique is employed to test the hypotheses proposed in this research. Utilizing data sources such as the Geopolitical Risk Index (GPR), Economic Political Uncertainty Index (WUI), and Bloomberg terminal, the findings indicate that geopolitical risk and political economic uncertainty affect the return of Sharia stocks. Additionally, there are control variables such as exchange rates and inflation that also influence the return of Sharia stocks. All hypotheses in this study are accepted as the test results show that geopolitical risk and economic political uncertainty significantly positively impact the return of Sharia stocks in OIC countries. The limitation of this research lies in the sample, which only consists of OIC countries. This study contributes to the literature on the influence of geopolitical risk and political economic uncertainty on the return of Sharia stocks.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the short-term and long-term effects of geopolitical risk and economic policy uncertainty on Sharia stock returns in the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) during the period from January 2018 to December 2023. This research employs a quantitative approach using the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) analysis technique. The results indicate that geopolitical risk has a negative and significant impact in both the short and long term. Meanwhile, economic policy uncertainty does not have a significant effect in the short term but has a negative and significant impact in the long term. This study also incorporates control variables, including global oil prices, global gold prices, exchange rates, and inflation. All control variables significantly influence Sharia stock returns in JII in the long term. In the short term, however, only global oil prices and exchange rates have a significant impact on Sharia stock returns in JII.

Abstract

Background: Cash waqf in Indonesia is optimized through the use of digital media to improve access, transparency, and public participation, particularly among the tech-savvy younger generation. This led to the formulation of effective strategies, which enabled the understanding of factors influencing digital waqf intention, including gender-based differences. Objective: This present study aims to explore gender differences in respect to the determinants of intention towards participating in digital cash waqf. This was realized by comparing responses between male and female Generation Z individuals. Methods: This quantitative study adopted purposive sampling method to collect data. Subsequently, a total of 645 respondent data were processed using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) method with the assistance of SmartPLS 4.0 software. Results: The male and female respondents stated that cash waqf literacy did not influence trust and behavioral intention. However, perceived ease of e-cash waqf significantly impacted both trust and behavioral intention. Majority of the male respondents reported that religiosity, and trust in nazhir had a significant impact. Both genders stated that religiosity did not moderate the relationship between the variables. Conclusion: In conclusion, the importance of technological ease of use and religiosity in influencing trust and intention to contribute to digital cash waqf was analyzed. Based on this perspective, both variables impacted trust and behavioral intention. The female respondents perceived trust as an insignificant factor, and recommended nazhir institutions partnered with financial technology (fintech) companies to develop user-friendly platforms. This included the engagement of female donors through religious education. The numerous campaigns should focus on technological literacy and the religious value of digital waqf contributions. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the implementation of subsidized home ownership credit financing based on the concept of Maslahah at Bank Tabungan Negara, branch office in Jombang. The research method employed is a qualitative case study with six techniques for data collection, including the researcher's direct participation with the research subject and conducting direct interviews with key informants from the financing service department. The research findings reveal that subsidized home ownership credit is one form of financing provided to the community to purchase homes, with the support of the government through collaboration with Bank Tabungan Negara, branch office in Jombang. Bank Tabungan Negara, branch office in Jombang, also offers various flexible repayment schemes to its customers. However, this research has limitations, such as its focus on a single location and an inability to describe variations in implementation at other locations. Furthermore, the research findings can have positive implications, particularly in the development of more effective policies and programs that align with the community's needs, by offering repayment options that suit customers' financial conditions.

Abstract

The low marketing literacy of MSMEs in Kaliombo Village, Pekalongan Regency, has resulted in low marketing activities such as packaging, product branding, and digital marketing. Apart from that, the literacy of MSME actors in the Village regarding halal products is still low, so they require readiness for the marketed products to comply with Government Regulations regarding Halal Product Guarantees. This government regulation requires that all products traded are halal so that they enter the halal ecosystem. This community service is carried out with training and mentoring activities to increase literacy regarding the importance of branding, packaging, digital marketing, and halal-haram to prepare MSME residents of Kaliombo Village to face competition in the market and enter the halal ecosystem. This empowerment includes socialization and assistance regarding concepts, uses, and how to apply branding, packaging, digital marketing, and halal-haram to the Kaliombo Village community farmer groups. This empowerment has an impact on increasing the competitiveness of MSMEs through optimizing brand design, packaging design, creating and developing social media accounts, and preparing to self-declare for halal certification permits for MSMEs.

Abstract

Economic development in the 20th century has a huge impact on the sustainability of mankind. However, on the other hand, it has a negative impact on the living ecosystem. Economics and the environment are considered two opposite sides in some ways like the way they treat profit orientation toward sustainable development. Sustainable development On the basis of this result creates a relatively new concept, Green Economy. Green Economy is a concept that supports human welfare and care for the preservation of the environment and ecosystem of life in economic development. But the negative side of economic development could also affect the depletion of natural resources due to overexploitation, pollution of the land, water, and air due to industrial pollution, floods, and impact on climate change. Islam has an ideal concept of sustainable development. There are at least fundamental rules in order to support the sustainable development of the implementation of environmental fiqh based maqasid sharia for the management of Islamic resources in economic transactions.
