Abstract

Wilayah Malang Raya yang mencakup Kota Malang, Kabupaten Malang, dan Kota Batu berada di Provinsi Jawa Timur, menawarkan kombinasi kekayaan sejarah, warisan budaya, dan keindahan alam yang menakjubkan. Hal ini menjadikannya sebagai destinasi wisata yang menarik bagi para pengunjung. Namun, dalam masyarakat sering kali situs sejarah di wilayah tersebut tidak mendapat perhatian yang cukup, baik dalam hal perawatan maupun pemahaman terhadap cerita sejarah yang berkembang di sekitarnya. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kepustakaan dan ethnohistory. Metode kepustakaan digunakan untuk memperoleh informasi dari sumber-sumber tertulis yang ada, sedangkan ethnohistory memberikan wawasan tentang perspektif budaya dan masyarakat lokal terkait dengan situs-situs sejarah tersebut. Penelitian ini mengulas wisata sejarah budaya di berbagai masa, termasuk masa Hindu-Budha, masa Islam, masa kolonial, dan masa pendudukan Jepang. Tujuannya adalah memberikan pandangan objektif tentang situasi sebenarnya dan mengajak masyarakat untuk meningkatkan kesadaran serta apresiasi terhadap warisan sejarah yang ada di Malang Raya. Dengan adanya artikel ini, diharapkan masyarakat dapat memahami akar budaya mereka sendiri, memperkuat jati diri bangsa, serta menjaga warisan berharga ini bagi generasi mendatang.The Greater Malang area, which includes Malang City, Malang Regency, and Batu City, is in East Java Province, offering a combination of rich history, cultural heritage, and stunning natural beauty. This makes it an attractive tourist destination for visitors. However, in society, historical sites in the region often do not receive sufficient attention, both in maintaining and understanding the historical stories that develop around them. This study uses the methods of literature study and ethnohistory. The literary method is used to obtain information from existing written sources, while ethnohistory provides insight into the cultural and local community perspectives related to these historical sites. This research reviews cultural history tourism in various eras, including the Hindu-Buddhist period, the Islamic period, the colonial period, and the Japanese occupation period. The aim is to provide an objective view of the actual situation and invite the public to increase awareness and appreciation of the historical heritage of Malang Raya. With this article, it is hoped that people can understand their cultural roots, strengthen their national identity, and protect this valuable heritage for future generations.

Abstract

The research that will be carried out starts from existing problems in the realm of education by looking at the importance of local history, and trying to provide solutions as a form of learning innovation. The problem faced by students at SMA Negeri 1 Cikarang Timur is knowledge of local history, especially historical evidence of the Tarumanagara Kingdom, namely the Batujaya Temple Site which is located in Karawang Regency. In answering the problems faced by local history learning, the solution that can be implemented in local history learning is the use of learning technology as a learning media innovation. Therefore, utilizing technology in learning has become mandatory. The technology used by researchers is a website based on Google Sites. This research aims to develop the Situs Percandian Batujaya Karawang (SIPERBAKA) media as a support for learning the local history of the Hindu-Buddhist kingdoms, especially the Tarumanagara Kingdom which is based in West Java for students at SMA Negeri 1 Cikarang Timur. The research method used in this research is the Research & Development method. The development of the media used can be done through various development models, one of which is the Design Thinking model. The ease in understanding the content and material on SIPERBAKA media was 48% of them said "Strongly Agree", 51% said "Agree" and 1% said "Disagree". This means that the majority of the content and materials on SIPERBAKA media are easy to understand. These results illustrate that the visual approach promoted by SIPERBAKA is able to provide clear and effective explanations to students. In conclusion, the results of this data provide evidence that the use of SIPERBAKA media is a practical and efficient choice in assisting the learning process, as well as encouraging student learning independence through the accessibility and ease of use provided.

Abstract

Abstract. The Initial Interpretation: Srigading Site Lawang-Malang. This study aims to reconstruct the location and function of the Srigading Site and its relation to the text of the Mpu Siṇḍok inscription in the X century, which was found around Singosari. The object of study in this research is the Srigading Site located in Manggis of Srigading Village, Lawang District, Malang Regency, East Java. How is the identification of the Srigading Site viewed from structural, artifactual, and the Mpu Siṇḍok inscription? The research method used is descriptive. The research data were analyzed using archaeological analysis, covering morphology, technology, style, and contextuality. The results of the study stated that the structural and artefactual of the Srigading Site is the building of X century of the Hindu Siwaistis. Based on the Mpu Siṇḍok inscription, Srigading Site is the sacred building led by Watak Hujung that is possed by Rakryan Hujung Pu Maduralokadurañjana, located in Himad Village (known as Srigading Village). The Srigading Site is also predicted to correlate with the sacred building of ‘sanghyang prasada/sanghyang sala i himad’ as mentioned in the Gulung-Gulung and Jeru-Jeru inscriptions, as the Bhaṭara Sala I Himad’s place of worship. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi Situs Srigading dan fungsinya, serta kaitannya terhadap teks prasasti-prasasti masa Mpu Siṇḍok di abad X yang ditemukan di sekitar Singosari. Objek kajian dalam penelitian ini adalah Situs Srigading yang berlokasi di Dusun Manggis, Desa Srigading, Kecamatan Lawang, Kabupaten Malang, Jawa Timur. Masalah yang diajukan adalah bagaimana identifikasi Situs Srigading ditinjau dari temuan struktural, artefaktual, serta prasasti-prasasti pada masa Mpu Siṇḍok. Metode penelitian yang digunakan bersifat deskriptif. Adapun data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analisis arkeologi, meliputi morfologi, teknologi, gaya, hingga kontekstual. Hasil penelitian menyatakan berdasar temuan struktural dan artefaktual, Situs Srigading merupakan situs bangunan candi dari bata yang berasal dari sekitar abad X yang bersifat Hindu Siwaistis. Ditinjau dari prasasti masa Mpu Siṇḍok, Situs Srigading merupakan bangunan suci yang berada dalam wilayah Watak Hujung yang dikuasai oleh Rakryan Hujung Pu Maduralokadurañjana berlokasi di Desa Himad yang sekarang dikenal kembali sebagai Desa Srigading. Situs tersebut diduga berhubungan dengan bangunan suci ‘sanghyang prasada/sanghyang sala i himad’ yang disebutkan di dalam prasasti Gulung-Gulung dan prasasti JeruJeru, sebagai tempat pemujaan bagi Bhaṭara Sala I Himad. Abstract

Previously, several toponymy studies have already been conducted both in the Nusa (Island) Ambon as well as in the City of Ambon. However, previous studies have not used the historical and archaeological approach. The use of this approach could ease the researchers to reveal the cross-cultural meeting in a specific locus. Taking the Island of Ambon as a locus, the researchers aim to find the origin of village names and the cultural intersection in Leihitu and Leitimor Peninsula. There were three steps conducted to collect and analyse data using historical and archaeological approach. Firstly, the researchers identified and took a tabulation of the village names, mentioned by the Hikayat Tanah Hitu (The Epic of Hitu Land) and three ancient maps. Secondly, the researchers identified various archaeological remains located in the scattered villages. Finally, the researchers analysed the origin of village names by searching the word-meanings, finding the present locations, and describing the role of the contemporary cultures (Islamic and Colonial period) in the past. The researchers found 12 villages with 22 archaeological remains. All related communities have the archaeological remains which could explain the local dynamics, but there are merely ten villages which name meanings could be identified.

Abstract

Religious tolerance, which is now starting to fade, has grown since the past. The Śhiva and Buddhist religious coalition from the Singhasari era to Majapahit might represent its religious tolerance. Several temples, consisting of Jawi, Jago, Panataran and Jabung, seem to reflect the concept of Śhiva-Buddhist. Its Śhiva-Buddhist characteristics could be referred from the textual information, its architecture, and its relief. This study used the analytical method and a historical-archaeology approach. The descriptions of these elements were identified and analyzed to strengthen the opinion of the Śhiva-Buddhist coalition. This study found that the Śhiva-Buddhist concept, as reflected in the Jawi, Jago, Panataran and Jabung temples,emphasizes the phenomenon of the coalition of the two religions during the Singhasari-Majapahit period.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to develop students' ability to understand and document cultural history through photo essay-making training for Komunitas Pelajar Sejarah (KOPAJA) SMA Tugu Malang Design/methodology/approach –This activity had three stages consisting planning, implementation, and evaluation. Planning was designed to ensure the activity could be run smoothly. Activity implementation comprised of theory sessions (material delivery and discussion), field practice (walking tour), and editing sessions (composing photo essays in groups). Findings –The finding shows a significant improvement in the participants' photography skills and visual narrative ability, as well as an increased appreciation of the cultural history of the colonial period. Participants are expected to be at the forefront of tourism. They are expected to open new jobs in tourism Originality/value – The originality of this activity lies in the interdisciplinary approach that combines elements of history and visual arts, which not only enriches history learning methods in schools but also inspires students to explore and document their cultural heritage. The training successfully demonstrated that using photo essays as a learning tool effectively increases students' understanding and interest in cultural history.

Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses the Hitu spice trade network and studies the potential for learning history in the Independent Curriculum for the SMK level. The writing of this study uses the literature study method by conducting an assessment of various literature in the form of articles, books, scientific journals, and previous studies that is relevant to the topic to be studied. The result of writing this study is that the Maluku Islands have been known as a trade network in the archipelago. The growth of the Hitu spice trading network is related to the creation of interaction and connectivity with local and foreign traders. Having a strategic location, Ambon Island is a place for boats and ships to stop as well as a spice trading market. This is because the Ambon coastal area connects ports or ports in the Maluku Islands which form a local network for trading activities with the main commodities being cloves and nutmeg. With the increasing number of Hitu, this led to the formation of a kingdom known as the Tanah Hitu Kingdom and was formed by the Four Primes. The arrival of the Portuguese to Hitu initially did not have a bad influence, but over time there were differences in interests which led to the Portuguese being expelled from Hitu. Then at the end of the 16th century the arrival of the Portuguese was followed by the Dutch and in 1605 succeeded in subduing the Portuguese and controlling Ambon. In an effort to achieve the learning objectives in the Independent Curriculum, vocational school history subject teachers are required to be able to design learning by utilizing various media and learning models that support the implementation of the Independent Curriculum, namely digital-based learning media and project-based learning models. Thus, the purpose of writing this study was to design an innovative and creative history lesson, and it is hoped that it will create future generations who are educated and able to compete globally in order to advance the quality of education in Indonesia. Abstrak: Kajian ini membahas mengenai jaringan perniagaan rempah Hitu dan kajian potensi pembelajaran sejarah dalam Kurikulum Merdeka untuk jenjang SMK. Penulisan kajian ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka dengan melakukan pengkajian terhadap berbagai literatur baik berupa artikel, buku, jurnal ilmiah, dan penelitian terdahulu yang relevan dengan topik yang akan dikaji. Hasil dari penulisan kajian ini adalah Kepulauan Maluku telah dikenal sebagai jaringan perniagaan di Nusantara. Tumbuhnya jaringan perniagaan rempah Hitu berkaitan dengan terciptanya interaksi dan konektivitas dengan para pedagang lokal dan asing. Memiliki letak yang strategis, Pulau Ambon menjadi tempat singgah perahu dan kapal sekaligus pasar perniagaan rempah. Hal tersebut karena wilayah pesisir Ambon menghubungkan pelabuhan atau bandar di Kepulauan Maluku yang membentuk jaringan lokal bagi aktivitas perniagaan dengan komoditi utama cengkeh dan pala. Dengan semakin ramainya Hitu, maka mendorong terbentuknya suatu kerajaan   yang dikenal dengan Kerajaan Tanah Hitu dan dibentuk oleh Empat Perdana. Kedatangan Portugis ke Hitu pada  awalnya tidak memunculkan pengaruh buruk, namun seiring berjalannya waktu terdapat perbedaan kepentingan yang membuat Portugis terusir dari Hitu. Kemudian pada akhir abad ke 16 kedatangan Portugis disusul oleh Belanda dan pada tahun 1605 berhasil menundukkan Portugis serta menguasai Ambon. Sebagai upaya mencapai tujuan pembelajaran dalam Kurikulum Merdeka, guru mata pelajaran sejarah SMK dituntut harus mampu mendesain pembelajaran dengan memanfaatkan berbagai media dan model pembelajaran yang menunjang penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka yakni media pembelajaran berbasis digital dan model pembelajaran berbasis projek. Sehingga, tujuan penulisan kajian ini dilakukan untuk mendesain pembelajaran sejarah yang inovatif dan kreatif, serta diharapkan dapat mewujudkan penerus bangsa yang terdidik dan mampu  bersaing secara global guna memajukan kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia.

Abstract

Local wisdom is considered a solution to the nation's moral problems, which have been eroded by the negative side of globalism. Wayang Topeng Malangan is one of Malang's unique local wisdoms and has potential as a source of learning history, especially in Malang. The goal of this research was to look into local values in Malangan Mask Wayang art to use as a source for learning history in school. This research method uses qualitative methods and data collection through literature and interviews. The result is that the local wisdom of Wayang Topeng Malangan contains values in the form of religious values, moral values, and aesthetic values. The use of the Malangan Mask Puppet as a source for learning history in class can be used as an apperception for learning Hindu-Buddhist history in phase E or grade 10 high school in the form of apperception photos, pictures, and apperception videos and texts.Kearifan lokal dinilai sebagai solusi bagi permasalahan moral bangsa yang tergerus sisi negatif globalisme. Wayang Topeng Malangan salah satu kearifan lokal khas Malang dengan potensi sebagai sumber belajar sejarah khususnya di Malang. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menggali nilai-nilai lokal dalam kesenian Wayang Topeng Malangan untuk digunakan sebagai sumber belajar sejarah di kelas. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan pengumpulan data dengan kepustakaan dan wawancara. Hasilnya kearifan lokal Wayang Topeng Malangan mengandung nilai-nilai berupa nilai religius, nilai moral, dan nilai estetika. Penggunaan Wayang Topeng Malangan sebagai sumber belajar sejarah dikelas dapat digunakan sebagai apersepsi pembelajaran sejarah Hindu Budha di fase E atau kelas 10 SMA berupa apersepsi foto atau gambar dan apersepsi video dan naskah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang inskripsi yang terdapat pada Candi Jago yang berlokasi diwilayah Malang, Jawa Timur. Inskripsi yang menjadi kajian pokok dalam penelitian ini tepatnya terletak pada bagian relief Partayajña. Secara spesifik, inskripsi tersebut berada pada panil yang menceritakan Arjuna sedang berada  di tepi pantai atau telaga yang terdapat batu karang berbentuk gajah tempat tinggal para penyair. Ditulisnya inskripsi pada bagian tersebut tentunya memiliki maksud tertentu yang perlu untuk dikaji, sebab inskrispsi tersebut hanya terdapat pada satu bagian panil pada relief Partayajña saja. Pengkajian inskripsi ini untuk mengetahui maksud ditulisnya dan hubungan inskripsi dengan relief Partayajña Candi Jago. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan kajian arkeologi-sejarah. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa inskripsi tersebut terbaca sebagai “i pahat”  yang diartikan “pahatan, ukiran, patung”, fungsinya sebagai penegas gambar gajah dan situasi sekitarnya, serta adanya hubungan antara inskripsi “i pahat” dengan relief Partayajña adegan perjalanan Arjuna ketika berada di pantai atau telaga, yaitu menunjuk kepada sebuah karang berbentuk gajah, dan juga sebagai simbol tempat tinggal para penyair. Penelitian ini diharapkan mampu menjadi rujukan bagi penelitian selanjutnya.
