Abstract

Bidang manufaktur dan konstruksi telah menyumbang 63,6% dari kecelakaan di tempat kerja selama tiga tahun kebelakang. Berdasarkan Heinrich’s theory dalam Health and Safety Protection, tindakan tidak aman menjadi penyebab utama kecelakaan kerja dengan rasio 80%, diikuti oleh kondisi tak aman dengan rasio 18%, serta hal lain sebesar 2%. Oleh karena itu, salah satu perusahaan manufaktur yang memproduksi kereta api melakukan upaya peningkatan perilaku keselamatan pekerjanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi dampak safety promotion (termasuk safety patrol, safety briefing, dan safety poster) serta faktor personal (sikap keselamatan, pengetahuan K3, motivasi K3, dan kelelahan) terhadap kepatuhan pekerja terhadap peraturan keselamatan. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang didistribusikan kepada 96 responden. Setelah data divalidasi, diuji reliabilitas, dan memenuhi syarat uji asumsi klasik, selanjutnya dilakukan uji pengaruh dengan metode regresi linear berganda. Hasilnya menunjukkan empat faktor utama yang secara signifikan membuat safety compliance terpengaruh yaitu safety briefing, safety patrol, sikap keselamatan dan motivasi K3 dengan p-value < 0,05 yaitu 0.000, 0.000, 0.013, 0.000 secara berurutan. Komunikasi yang efektif melalui metode promosi keselamatan yang bervariasi, serta personal pekerja seperti motivasi dan sikap, memainkan peran yang penting guna mendorong kepatuhan keselamatan dalam bekerja.

Abstract

Variations in task performance under different cognitive demands are often interpreted as indicating mental workload. Prior research has identified a link between personality and task performance. This study investigates whether personality traits influence performance under varying levels of mental workload in working memory tasks. Personality traits were assessed using the Eysenck Personality Inventory. Participants completed n-back tasks at three levels of difficulty to induce different levels of mental workload. The findings reveal significant differences in response times between extroverts and introverts across all task difficulties (p < 0.05), with introverts responding more quickly. A significant difference between neurotic and stable individuals emerged only at the medium difficulty level (p < 0.05), with stable individuals performing faster. Additionally, response times varied significantly across personality quadrants, with introvert-neurotic individuals showing faster responses at both low and high difficulty levels.

Abstract

The ship's wheelhouse is a critical control center, yet its design often neglects essential ergonomic principles. This study analyzes the ergonomic aspects of the wheelhouse on a traditional fishing vessel, a type commonly used in the coastal areas of northern Java, Indonesia. The ergonomic evaluation of the design involved a quantitative postural analysis using the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) method. The initial assessment revealed a RULA score of 3, indicating a need for ergonomic intervention, primarily due to issues with arm and wrist postures. In response, a redesign was proposed using Indonesian anthropometric data and simulated with CATIA software. The redesign included modifications to the console height, steering wheel dimensions, and the layout of the control panel. Validation using a Digital Human Model (DHM) showed a significant improvement, with the RULA score decreasing to 1 for the steering task and score 2 for reaching the control lever, indicating an acceptable postural load. The study concludes that applying anthropometric data to the wheelhouse design can substantially enhance operator safety, comfort, and productivity.

Abstract

Pemahaman pengelolaan limbah dan sumber daya alam merupakan salah satu aspek yang mempengaruhi terwujudnya kelestarian lingkungan. Pada kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini mengadakan forum dan pelatihan pengelolaan limbah dan sumber daya manusia untuk mewujudkan lingkungan lestari dan berkelanjutan. Kegiatan ini menggunakan metode sharing session dan diskusi dalam forum dengan menampilkan kondisi pengelolaan limbah dan sumber daya di Taiwan sebagai acuan pembanding untuk mengelola limbah dan sumber daya di Indonesia. Peserta forum pelatihan sebanyak 100 orang yang terdiri dari dosen akademisi dari 3 perguruan tinggi yaitu Politeknik Perkapalan Negeri Surabaya, Institut Teknologi Adhi Tama Surabaya dan Chung Yuan Christian University, serta pihak industri. Analisis data kuisioner pemahaman pengelolaan limbah dan sumber daya menggunakan metode Boxplot skor dan Paired t test. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pemahaman dalam mengelola limbah dan sumber daya. Tingkat pemahaman ini akan mendukung terwujudnya kelestarian lingkungan yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Most of the load in the motorcycles industry is motors. So, the largest energy use is in motorcycles. This study aims to prove the effect of speed change on a three-phase induction motor on energy consumption with a V.S.D. drive. The method used in this proof uses direct experiment methods and data analysis. The relationship between speed and energy use can be demonstrated through testing and data analysis. The results show that V.S.D. is set at frequencies of 20 Hz and 40 Hz to regulate the speed of the motor as a pump drive can save its energy use. This resulted in a reduction in energy consumption of 20.54% and operational costs of up to Rp 3,292.32 per month in the implementation of the motor as a pump driver.
