Abstract

Breast cancer has a large number of new cases and deaths in the world and Indonesia. Chemotherapy is one of the treatments chosen to treat breast cancer patients. Physical side effects can include Chemotherapy-induced Induced Nausea and Vomiting (CINV), Chemotherapy-induced Induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN) and anxiety. Standard hospital care is care in which nursing actions are in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that the hospital has established for each existing service. The research method used was quasi-experimental (quasi-experiment), which was carried out with an unequal control group design. The pre-test was carried out during chemotherapy when the researcher met the respondent, and the post-test was carried out during the respondent's following chemotherapy schedule. The population in this study were breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at the chemotherapy clinic at RSD, Dr. Soebandi Jember and Rumkit Kindergarten. III Baladhika Husada Jember . The sampling method used was simple random sampling with a minimum sample size of 60 people. The results of the Paired Samples Test can be concluded that standard treatment in hospitals does not affect the level of Chemotherapy Induced Nausea and Vomiting (CINV) but does influence the incidence rate of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) and the level of anxiety in breast cancer patients with chemotherapy.

Abstract

Background: Most nurses report experiencing emotional exhaustion due to high job demands, a condition that not only affects individuals but also impacts the overall healthcare system. The utilization of health information systems offers significant potential in detecting, measuring, and managing emotional exhaustion among healthcare professionals through comprehensive data analysis, thus improving individual well-being and the quality of healthcare services. Purpose: The objective of this systematic review is to explore indicators of emotional exhaustion and strategies to address it. Methods: This review was developed based on the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) methodology and presented according to PRISMA. Three databases, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and ProQuest, were used as sources to search for studies in English. The research obtained with the criteria of discussing health information systems and emotional exhaustion, original research, full text, and published between 2019-2024. Out of 1,782 identified articles, 15 articles were selected for in-depth analysis. Results: Through this systematic review, it was found that HIS can be used to measure emotional exhaustion through behavioural, performance, and organizational dimensions. These indicators can be identified through the analysis of data stored in HIS. In addition, HIS can also support mitigation efforts through increased work efficiency, employee health management, and organizational support. Conclusion: Detecting the condition of emotional exhaustion and understanding how to mitigate it are competencies required to support the smooth and quality delivery of nursing care.

Abstract

Background: The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into academic environments has been on the rise to enhance research productivity and improve the quality of academic writing. Despite the growing interest in this area, empirical evidence on the measurable impact of AI-based training on academic writing skills remains limited. The aim of this community service activity was to enhance the participants' academic writing skills through a structured AI-assisted training program. Methods:  This community service program was conducted over a three-day period in May 2025 at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya, Indonesia. A total of 30 university students volunteered to participate in this study. The community service program comprised five stages: preparation, socialization, training implementation, and evaluation. The training methods included socialization, counseling, workshops, and hands-on practicums focusing on AI-based academic writing. The evaluation was executed employing a pretest–posttest design, in which a writing rubric was used to assess the participants’ academic writing skills. Results: The analysis indicated a significant improvement in writing performance following the AI-based training. The mean pretest score was recorded at 65.3 (SD = 7.5), while the posttest mean reached 81.2 (SD = 6.8). The paired-sample t-test highlighted a statistically significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores (t = 8.24, df = 29, p < 0.001). Conclusion: The AI-based academic writing training implemented through this community service program effectively enhanced the participants’ writing skills. This program demonstrates that AI-assisted training can be an effective model for strengthening academic writing competence in community service initiatives.

Abstract

Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is one of the most common anxiety disorders and significantly impacts individual well-being. Early detection using a valid instrument, such as the GAD-7, is essential for effective intervention. However, evidence regarding the psychometric performance of the GAD-7 in developing countries remains fragmented, particularly across student and community populations, necessitating systematic synthesis. This study aimed to systematically review and synthesise evidence on the psychometric properties of the GAD-7, including its validity, reliability, cut-off values, and cultural adaptability, among students and general populations in developing-country contexts. A systematic review was conducted using three databases: PubMed, ScienceDirect, and SAGE Journals. The search employed the keywords “Anxiety Disorder,” “Developing Country,” “Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7,” “Mental Health,” “Psychometric,” and “Student,” using Boolean operators (AND, OR). Of the 3,255 records identified, 15 studies met the inclusion criteria after screening and eligibility assessment and were included in the final synthesis. The review demonstrates that the GAD-7 shows consistently strong construct validity, a stable unidimensional factor structure, and robust convergent validity across diverse cultural and educational settings, with positive correlations observed with related instruments such as the PHQ-9. With high internal consistency (Cronbach’s α = 0.85–0.93) and a commonly supported cut-off score of ≥10, the GAD-7 effectively identifies anxiety symptoms, although context-specific lower cut-off scores were reported in certain clinical and community populations. Overall, the findings indicate that the GAD-7 is a valid, reliable, and culturally adaptable screening instrument for anxiety assessment. By consolidating psychometric evidence across developing-country contexts, this review provides an integrated and up-to-date synthesis that supports the informed use of the GAD-7 in educational, clinical, and public mental health settings, particularly in low-resource environments.
