Abstract

The research aimed to determine the effect of giving bioslurry and get a dose of the best on the growth oil palm seedlings (Elaeis guineensis jacq.) in main nursery. This research has been conducted in the experimental field of the Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau from Agustus 2015 until the month of Januari 2016. The research was conducted by using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisted of         6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment is bioslurry, B1= 0 ml, B2=100 ml,     B3= 200 ml, B4= 300 ml, B5= 400 ml, dan B6= 500 ml. Parameters that observed were seedling height, the increase of hump diameter, the increase of leaf number an leaf area. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance, then continued with further test with Duncan's new multiple range test at 5%. The results of research of  bioslurry no significantly effect to seedlings height, the increase of leaf number, the increase of hump diameter,  an leaf area. Provision of bioslurry of 300 ml is the best treatment against the of seedling height is 30,43 cm, the increase of hump diameter 2,40 cm, the increase of leaf number 7,50 sheet an leaf area 277,08 cm2 an compared with no provision of bioslurry to seedling height 17,84%, the increase of hump diameter 27,91%, the increase of leaf number 21,73% an leaf area 16,29%. Keywords: bioslurry, oil palm seedlings, growth, main nursery.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of rice husk charcoal and trichoazolla compost on growth and production of upland rice and to obtain the best combination of treatments. This research was conducted at Agriculture Experimental Station of Agriculture Faculty of Riau University, Rimbo Panjang Village, Tambang Sub District, Kampar Regency from January to April 2017 by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of            2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor is T0: without rice husk chacoal, T1: Rice husk charcoal 2,5 t.ha-1, T2: Rice husk charcoal 5 t.ha-1 and T3: Rice husk charcoal 7,5 t.ha-1.             The second factor was P1: Trichoazolla compost 3 t.ha-1, P2: Trichoazolla compost 6 t.ha-1 and P3: Trichoazolla compost 9 t.ha-1. The results of this research indicate that the interaction of husk rice and trichoazolla compost increases growth and yield of upland rice plants and is seen in the number of all tillers, number of productive tillers, plant height, panicle length, percentage of pithy rice and weight of 1000 grains of grain. Grams of rice husks 5 t.ha-1 and compost trichoazolla 6 t.ha-1 are the best doses. Keywords: rice husk charcoal, trichoazolla compost, gogo rice, peat land.

Abstract

Increased productivity of edamame soybean crops with the addition of chicken manure and the use of Trichoderma sp as a decomposer of organic matter. This study aims to determine the interaction and the influence of single factor of chicken manure and Trichoderma sp. and to find out the best dose of edamame soybean growth and yield. This experiment was conducted experimentally in a 3x3 factorial formulated according to a complety randomized design (RAL) consisting of two factors: chicken manure (5,10 and 15 t.ha-1) and Trichoderma sp. (without application, 10 g, and 15 g). The parameters observed were percentage of effective root nodule, plant height, flowering age, percentage full pod, weight of pod per plant, number of seeds per pod, production per plot. then tested further by Duncan's multiple-range test at a 5% level. The results showed that the application of single factor of chicken manure and Trichoderma sp. effect on plant height, flowering age, number of pods, plant pod weight, and plot production but no effect on the percentage of effective root nodule and number of seeds per pod and 10 g of Trichoderma sp. and 10 t.ha-1 chicken manure is a treatment that may be the best dose to increase the growth and production of edamame soybean crop.Keywords: edamame soybean, chicken manure, Trichoderma sp.

Abstract

This research can be done in the frequency of the pruning of water shoots and the concentration of liquid supplementary fertilizer and the best combination in improving growth and yield of cayenne pepper. The experimental method was conducted experiments in the form of a 4 x 4 factorial experiment arranged according to Complete Randomized Design. The first factor is the pruning of water shoots. The second factor of liquid supplementary fertilizer given in the form of Bayfolan. The data those collected analyze with Anova and Duncan’s new Multiple Range Test at the 5% level. Parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, first flower appeared, the age of the first harvest, length of fruit, fruit diameter, weight per fruit, total fruit count per plant and weight of fruit per plant. The frequency of pruning of water shoots has no effect on all parameters, except for total fruit per plant. The frequency of pruning of water shoots 1 time indicates the total fruit count per plant more than the frequency of pruning of adventive shoots. PPC concentration has no effect on all parameters, except for the length of the fruit. A PPC concentration of 3 cc/l water indicates the length of the fruit is longer than the other PPC concentration. The interaction of frequency of pruning of adventive shoots and PPC concentration has no effect on all parameters. Keywords: Cayenne pepper, pruning of water shoots, liquid supplementary fertilizer

Abstract

This subject proposes to find out the result of oil palm seed immersion in various concentrations of KNO3 and to get the best KNO3 concentration on germination and outgrowth. This research has been conducted at Plant Breeding and Experimental Plantation Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The study was conducted for 4 months from Agust to December 2016. The experiment was conducted experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment of soaking of scarificated oil palm seed in KNO3 (K) concentration for 20 hours consisted of K0 (soaking without KNO3), K1 (0.2%), K2 (0.4%), K3 (0.6%). Parameters observed were ; germination time, index value test, percentage of sprouts, radicle length, plumule length, seed height, and seedling dry weight. The data obtained were analyzed statistically by using analysis of variance and means separation with Duncan Multiple Range Test at 5%. The result showed that soaking of oil palm seed in KNO3 solution had a significant effect on sprouts, germination percentage, radicle length, plumule length and dry weight of seedlings. Soaking of oil palm seed in a KNO3 solution with a concentration of 0.4% for 20 hours can accelerate when sprouts appearing from 22.4 days to 6.8 days, and increase germination rates from 34.4% to 53.6%. Key Words : Oil palm seed, dormancy, KNO3 and germination

Abstract

The study aims to observe the effect of palm oil factory solid waste and phosphate fertilizer, and to get the best combination on the growth and production of soybean. The experiment lasted for 3 month from June to August 2017 on experimental garden of Agricultural Faculty of Riau University.The research was carried out experimentally using Randomized Block Design (RBD) factorial which is composed of two factors. The first factor was the palmoil factory solid waste which consists of 3 levels i.e. L0 = without LPPKS, L1 = LPPKS2.5 t. ha-1 and L2 = LPPKS 5 t. ha-1. The second factor that is phosphate fertilizer (P) consisting of 4 levels i.e. P0 = no TSP, P1 = 20 kg P2O5. ha-1, P2 = 40 kg P2O5. ha-1 and P3 = 60 kg P2O5. ha-1. The observed parameters, i.e. plant height, number of primary branches,plant growth rate, harvest age, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per plant, pithy pea percentage,seed weight per m2 and weight of 100 seeds. The data obtained were analyzed using Anova and Duncan on levels 5%. The results showed that giving palm oil factory solid waste enhance the rate of growth of the plant, 100 seed weight and seed weight per m2, whereas the granting of fertilizer P increases the weight of seeds per m2. Granting palm oil factory solid waste 2.5 ton. ha-1 and fertilizer P 40 kg. ha-1 can give you the best results on the weight of seeds per m2.Keywords: soybean, phosphate, Palm Oil factory solid waste.

Abstract

Kabupaten Kampar merupakan satu diantara beberapa sentra penanaman padi di Provinsi Riau. Kendala dalam melaksanakan budidaya tanaman padi yang masih ditemukan diantaranya adalah kurangnya pengetahuan petani tentang teknik budidaya dan pengendalian penyakit pada tanaman padi. Tujuan kegiatan ini ialah untuk mendorong petani agar dapat membuat biofungisida berbahan aktif konsorsium Trichoderma virens dan Pseudomonad berflourescens dalam formulasi Biofungisida Plus untuk pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit yang menyerang tanaman padi. Kegiatan pemberdayaan petani di Desa Sawah melalui penerapan teknologi pengendalian penyakit tanaman padi dengan biofungisida plus dilaksanakan dengan menerapkan Model Community Development. Pada metode ini secara langsung dilibatkan sebagai subyek dan obyek dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat ini diantaranya ialah, masyarakat bersedia untuk menerapkan teknologi Biofungisida Plus di lahan sawahnya. Berdasarkan hasil kuisioner juga diketahui pemahaman dan wawasan petani bertambah setelah diperkenalkan dengan Teknologi Biofungisida Plus ini. Aplikasi Biofungisida Plus di lahan petani menunjukkan kondisi tanaman yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan teknik budidaya yang biasa digunakan oleh petani.

Abstract

The research was conducted at experimental farm, The Faculty of Agricultute, Riau University from March until July 2016 to look the effect of palm oil empty bunch compost and NPK fertilizer for corn growth and productivity and to know the best dosage. The research factorial 4x4 and three replication was arranged in Randomized Completely Block Design. The first factor was  palm oil empty bunch compost (without palm oil empty bunch compost, 5 ton/ha, 10 ton/ha, and 15 ton/ha) and the second factor was NPK fertilizer (without NPK fertilizer, 100 kg/ha, 200 kg/ha, and 300 kg/ha). From both factor there are 16 treatment combination which repeat three times. The result revelaed that palm oil empty bunch compost and NPK fertilizer combination significant effect with plant’s growth, the ration of roots crown, dry weight of plants, diameter of rod, diameter of cobs, length of cob, weight of seed, a thousand weight of seeds and not significant with total leaf area and height of plant’s . The combination of 5 ton/ha palm oil empty bunch compost and           200 kg/ha NPK fertilizer showed the best weight of seeds obtained was             4,85 kg/6 m2 than without palm oil empty bunch compost and NPK fertilizer that obtained was   3,70 kg/6 m2  weight of seeds. Keyword: TKKS compost, NPK fertilizer, Corn.

Abstract

Perbanyakan tanaman jeruk lemon melalui setek lebih menguntungkan, karena tidak memerlukan keahlian khusus, serta dapat menghasilkan tanaman yang memiliki sifat seperti induknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui interaksi serta faktor tunggal konsentrasi Rootone-F dengan lama perendaman terhadap pertumbuhan setek tanaman jeruk lemon dan mendapatkan kombinasi perlakuan terbaik. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Unit Pelaksanaan Teknis Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Riau Pekanbaru dari bulan Desember 2018 hingga Maret 2019. Rancangan yang digunakan ialah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktorial dengan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan pertama ialah konsentrasi Rootone-F yang terdiri dari (0, 100,  200 dan 300) ppm. Perlakuan kedua ialah lama perendaman yang terdiri dari (2, 3, dan 4) jam. Parameter yang diamati adalah umur muncul tunas, jumlah tunas, panjang tunas, jumlah akar, panjang akar dan volume akar. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis ragam (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut beda nyata jujur (BNJ) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian Rootone-F konsentrasi 200 ppm dengan lama perendaman 3 jam memberi pengaruh yang cenderung lebih baik terhadap umur muncul tunas dan panjang tunas, sedangkan Rootone-F konsentrasi 100 ppm dengan lama perendaman 4 jam memberi pengaruh yang cenderung lebih baik terhadap jumlah akar dan panjang akar pada setek tanaman jeruk lemon. Kata Kunci:  Setek, jeruk lemon, Rootone-F, lama perendaman

Abstract

Provinsi Riau memiliki lahan yang cukup luas untuk dijadikan lahan pertanian, namun didominasi oleh lahan sub optimal, yang ketersediaan unsur haranya rendah, sehingga perlu dikelola dengan baik. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut diantaranya dengan menambahkan unsur hara ke dalam tanah melalui kegiatan pemupukan. Pupuk yang diberikan dapat berupa pupuk anorganik dan pupuk organik, diantaranya pupuk NPK dan air cucian beras terfermentasi yang berpotensi sebagai pupuk karena mengandung beberapa unsur hara makro dan mikro yang bermanfaat bagi tanaman, sehingga dilakukan penelitian yang mengkombinasikan kedua faktor tersebut, dengan harapan dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil dari tanaman terung. Penelitian dirancang menggunakan RAL faktorial dengan parameter yang diamati yaitu tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, umur berbunga pertama, umur panen pertama, panjang buah, diameter buah, jumlah buah per tanaman dan berat buah per tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk NPK dosis 400 kg.ha-1 dan air cucian beras terfermentasi dosis        5 liter per tanaman cenderung memberikan hasil tertinggi untuk parameter tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, mempercepat umur berbunga pertama, panjang buah, diameter buah dan berat buah per tanaman. Pemberian pupuk NPK dosis 400 kg.ha-1 pada tanaman terung varietas Yumi F1 cenderung menunjukkan pertumbuhan dan hasil yang lebih baik terhadap semua parameter kecuali umur panen pertama tanaman terung. Pemberian air cucian beras terfermentasi dosis 7,5 liter per tanaman cenderung menunjukkan pertumbuhan dan hasil yang lebih baik terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman, panjang buah, diameter buah, jumlah buah per tanaman dan berat buah per tanaman terung. Kata Kunci :  Terung, pupuk NPK, air cucian beras terfermentasi
