Abstract

This study aims to identify a number of legendary Banyumasan songs. The fact that a large number of the songs exist and people sing the songs all the time shows that the songs have their own uniqueness. This study takes place in Banyumas regency. By doing performance study and composition, this study identifies the form and the structure of Banyumasan songs, and the moral value of Banyumasan music, especially the songs in Banyumasan music. The result of the study shows that the songs in the art performances in Banyumas commonly use classic immutable songs. The lyrics in the classic Banyumasan songs use Ngoko Javanese in Banyumasan dialect. The rhyme of the lyrics is usually in the form of wangsalan, parikan, and Essen-Essen. The rhyme contains funny and entertaining riddles. The lyrics of Banyumasan songs reflect Banyumas people’s character and the dream/utopia of the people’s ideology. The character is shown in the use of ngoko Javanese in Banyumas dialect which shows that the society is blakasuta or egalitarian who considers all people in the world has the same level and must be honest.How to Cite: Suharto, S. Abstract

Kritik seni sudah lama dikenal dalam dalam dunia seni maupun sastra. Dalam dunia pendidikan maupun penelitian pun sudah banyak diterapkan. Walaupun semula, seperti sifatnya yang evaluatif, pendekatan kritik seni digunakan untuk penelitian evaluatif, namun dalam perkembangannya dapat digunakan untuk jenis penelitian lainnya baik  penelitian dasar maupun terapan karena sebenarnya dalam pendekatan ini ada aspek deskriptif, interpretatif, dan aspek evaluatif. Pendekatan kritik seni yang dalam analisisnya menggunakan tiga faktor seperti faktor genetik, objektif, dan afektif dapat memecahkan masalah penelitian secara komprehensip seperti sifat penelitian kualitatif yang fenomenologis dan hermeneutik. Sifatnya yang lentur, pendekatan ini dirasa sangat aplikatif untuk penelitian-penelitian pada umumnya lebih khusus lagi untuk penelitian dalam cabang ilmu humaniora.

Abstract

Music especially a song has a stress pattern of musical rhythm. In the first bar, there is a strong beat called accent. Like a music, English is often described as stress-time language. There some rules of the language in pronunciation.  The purpose of this study is to know the tendency English stress pattern applied in English song lyrics viewed from the stress pattern of music rhythm. This study is a quantitative one by using musical approach. Sample of this study uses two song analysis is used. And to discuss the finding analysis the musical approach especially music composition is applied. The results of this study are (1) most of the syllables of English stress pattern are matched to the stress pattern of the musical rhythm in which have different meter signature, 78.15 % in Song 1 and 97.31 % in Song 2. (2) most word classes whose s syllables of word stresses are matched to the stress pattern of musical rhythm are nouns, 52,27 % in Song 1 and 67.27 % in Song 2. Based on the result suggestions in this study are that it is important for composers to consider to the two important elements of the English song, lyric and beats or meter signature, to get good song, and other study related to this study are needed in order that this finding can be generalized to all of English song Lyrics

Abstract

This study aimed at describing the equivalence of eclessial song lyrics, which belong to the content word, the meaning of the sentences and their effect on church songs. The method used in this study is descriptive and qualitative by using music, language, and interdiciline approach. The data collection method used questionnaires technique, interview, documents and content analysis. The data used are 5 documents of songs chosen purposively as the primary data. Based on the data being analyzed, the results of this study were: 1) The translated content word located in the same bars and equivalent was around 27.07%, the translated content word located in the same bars, but not equivalent was 18.34%, the translated content word located in the different bars, but equivalent was 11.79%, the translated content word located in the different bars and not equivalent was 2.62%, and the untranslated words were 4.17%. 2) The translation of equivalence beautiful lyrics showed the beauty of the song was equivalent at 17.02%, the beauty of the song was less equivalent at 29.78%, the beauty of the song was not equivalent of 61.70%. 3). The differences of structure caused the incorrect dictions or choice of words and missing words in the translated lyrics.

Abstract

This research aims at examining how Banyumas people’s characteristics are symbolically expressed in Calung Banyumasan performance. This qualitative research employs a hermeneutic approach to examine any symbolic meanings in calung performance. The data are collected by literary study, document study, observation and interview, which are then analyzed using content analysis and interactive analysis of Miles and Huberman. The research results show that some song lyrics identify Banyumas people’s images and characteristics such as equality and honesty (cablaka) just like the ngoko level language they use. The performance consists of opening, Lenggeran, Badhudan, and Baladewan acts in the process of illustrating the character of Banyumas people who love jokes and crowd. Some aspects arising in performance reflect Banyumas people as an egalitarian, straightforward, like-to-gather, and syncretic society.

Abstract

Song is one form of typical communication. Therefore, singing is implemented in this study as a strategy to enhance the ability to speak. This study is aimed to find out the role of songs in enhancing the ability to speak for children in early childhood. This classroom action research is conducted in two cycles, there are: planning, acting out and observing, as well as reflecting. Data were collected by conducting observation technique, documentation, and test. It is shown from the results of the study that the ability of children to speak is increasing for every cycle. In the beginning, the cycle reached by only 56% or in the average 51, cycle I reached 60% with mean score 68,08 and cycle 2 reached 97% with the average score 83. From the percentage, it is shown that results of cycle II has passed the minimum score for students in Kindergarten level. In other words, it is proven that singing has been successfully implemented as a strategy in teaching speaking. It has enhanced the ability of children to speak. It is suggested for teachers in Kindergarten level to implement singing as a teaching strategy to bridge the need to teach Kindergarten students to speak during the learning process.

Abstract

Indonesia adalah negara yang terdiri dari banyak budaya, karakter, etnik yang tersebar di pelosok negeri. Itulah sebabnya masyarakat Indonesia dianggap sangat plural. Keragaman budaya dengan berbagai karakter ini juga ternyata menjadi ancaman perpecahan yang disebabkan kurangnya kesadaran tentang makna keberagaman ini. Gesekan-gesekan yang berbau sara terus terjadi karena kurangnya kesadaran budaya masyarakatnya. Pelajaran seni tradisi di sekolah menengah bisa menjadi wahana pembelajaran multikultural bagi peserta didik. Pembelajaran multikultural ini penting bagi agar  mereka siap dan sadar menjadi anggota masyarakat yang plural. Indonesia is a country consisting of countless cultures, characters, ethnic groups spread in various regions. That’s why Indonesian community is very pluralistic. The diverse cultures with these considerable characters have threatened disunity caused by people’s consciousness of this diversity. The ethnic segregation and conflict have kept going because of the lack of community’s cultural awareness. Subject on tradition and art in high schools could be a medium for multicultural learning for students. This multicultural learning is important in order that they are ready and aware of being pluralistic community members.

Abstract

students are less interested in learning the art of music. Moreover, the way the teacher teaches are not so attractive, complementing the students' reasons to override music art. This research is a class action research conducted in two cycles. Cycle I and Cycle II consist of planning, action observation and reflection. Data collection was done through tests, observations, interviews and documentation. Data were analyzed descriptive quantitatively and qualitatively. Based on data analysis, it is concluded that audiovisual media and varied methods improve learning outcomes of music lesson after the action of the first cycle, 84% of students reached a value greater than or equal to 64. In the second cycle, the percentage increased to 88%. Changes in behavior in this study were the students seemed happy, more motivated in learning, enthusiastic in asking questions, and pay full attention to teachers' explanation. Considering the result of the study, the researcher suggests teachers use audiovisual media and a variety of methods to generate students’ interest and attraction in appreciating the art of local music.Kata kunci: hasil belajar, media audio visual, metode bervariasi.

Abstract

Lagu merupakan jenis musik yang memiliki unsur non-musikal yang berfungsi sangat penting yang memberi kesan tertentu bagi musiknya, yaitu lirik lagu. Syair lagu yang berupa bahasa memberikan dimensi baru dalam lagu itu sendiri. Kesan megah, agung, gembira, sedih, dll. adalah efek yang ditimbulkan saat lagu itu dinyanyikan atau diperdengarkan. Jika lagu ituditerjemahkan ke dalam bahasa lain yang berlatar budaya lain bisa mengakibatkan efek lagu menjadi berbeda terutama jika penerjemah tidak tepat dalam mencari padanannya. Hal lain yang utama adalah tentang tekanan kata pada lagu terjemahan yang sering tidak diperhatikan penerjemah. Padahal ada jenis bahasa, misalnya bahasa Inggris, yang dikenal sebagai bahasa yang berirama yang sangat memperhatikan masalah tekanan ini. Bisa kita amati bahwa lagu yang diciptakan para penutur aslisangat memperhatikan hal ini. Bagaimana dengan lagu  terjemahan yang dibuat bukan penutur aslinya? Bisa terjadi lagu yang tidak memperhatikan masalah-masalah seperti di atas akan memiliki efek yang berbeda dengan lagu aslinya.
