Abstract

The use of Internet of Things technology can be implemented in various aspects, one of which is the field of energy generation. The generation of electrical energy, especially biomass fuel, can be one way to achieve more environmentally friendly energy generation. Design prototype smart portable biomass powerplant includes monitoring and control of the generating system. The monitoring and control system is designed to be able to run automatically integrated with the Internet of Things system. To increase the ease of use of the tool, the system is connected in real-time with the internet. Data acquisition with sensors connected to the controller is carried out to observe the condition of the combustion chamber, turbine and generator components. The results of this data acquisition can then be monitored in real-time on a platform that can be done remotely. The control process on the prototype includes protection measures on the device in case of fault so as to provide further damage prevention measures and can be done wirelessly using the same system. Prototype testing results using Arduino mega2560 controller and ACS712 current sensor, voltage sensor, MQ-2 gas sensor and esp32 cam were found to be able to work well and monitor both the condition of the combustion chamber, the power generated by the generator to biomass combustion levels. Then the test also proved to be able to provide remote process control to protect the tool from overheating, overcurrent protection and excessive incomplete combustion process.

Abstract

In the era of technological advancement, the utilization of Chatbots for food and beverage menu ordering through the Telegram Bot platform emerges as an intriguing alternative to enhance customer experiences in the Food and Beverage industry. This research aims to analyze user satisfaction with the Chatbot implementation using the Heuristic method. In this implementation, the Chatbot is supported by Natural Language Processing (NLP) with a focus on customer satisfaction analysis. The Heuristic method serves as the primary evaluation tool to measure aspects such as service speed, user-friendliness, and information clarity. Analysis results reveal positive user responses to the Chatbot, indicating a high level of satisfaction in system usage. These findings support the notion that employing Chatbots with the Heuristic method can deliver a satisfying experience for customers in food and beverage menu ordering. Practical implications of this research can assist restaurants in enhancing service and efficiency through Chatbot implementation that considers user satisfaction aspects measured by the Heuristic method.

Abstract

The problems with traffic in many big cities is congestion. Detection and tracking of vehicles in traffic light queues is an important aspect of an efficient urban transport system. This research introduces a combined model that combines the YOLO (You Only Look Once) version 5 algorithm or commonly called YOLOv5, a high-speed object detection approach, with the SORT (Simple Online and Realtime Tracking) algorithm to efficiently detect and track vehicles. The method was tested using a dataset of real traffic recordings and the results showed excellent performance in detecting and tracking vehicles, with sufficient accuracy and speed for urban traffic applications. Using this approach, vehicle detection and tracking systems can improve traffic safety and optimize vehicle flow at road intersections.

Abstract

The importance of pet adoption is very important in efforts to support the prevention of animal abandonment. Currently, the pet adoption system in Indonesia still largely relies on a manual approach. This process is carried out directly without paying attention to important aspects of the match between the pet and its adopter, which can result in a lack of information which has a long-term impact on the abandonment or return of the pet. Based on these problems, this research aims to design and create an application that can facilitate the pet adoption process. This application was built for Android-based mobile devices by utilizing Machine Learning methods to provide personalized pet recommendations based on user preferences using Content-Based Filtering and making it easier to identify pet breeds from photos uploaded or selected by users using Image Classification. The pet data collected was sourced from the Kaggle, TensorFlow, and GitHub websites. It is hoped that the results of this research can overcome the problem of pet adoption in a better and more sustainable way and will not only provide benefits for abandoned animals, but can also reduce cases of animal abandonment due to irresponsible owners.

Abstract

This research analyzes the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard criteria implemented by PT. Lippo Karawaci, Tbk. Employs a qualitative descriptive method utilizing content analysis documents. The data are collected and analyzed through the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard, calculating the total score based on predetermined quality. This research indicates that PT implemented the level 1 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard. Lippo Karawaci, Tbk. Acquires a total score of 72.2 with a trusted category. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi kriteria yang telah ditentukan dalam ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard pada PT. Lippo Karawaci, Tbk. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah kajian isi dokumen (content analysis document). Prosedur analisis data dilakukan dengan cara pengumpulan sumber data, analisis data yang telah terkumpul dengan menggunakan ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard dan menghitung nilai akhir berdasarkan bobot yang telah ditentukan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard level 1 yang telah dilakukan oleh perusahaan mendapatkan nilai akhir 72,2 dengan predikat terpercaya.

Abstract

The increasingly tough industrial competition requires companies to be capable of expanding their business. As such, many companies decide to raise capital through the stock exchange. When entering the stock exchange, issuers have to deal with attracting investors, one of which is improving the firm value. This study aims to determine the effect of profitability, capital structure, and firm size on the firm value of food and beverage sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange between 2018 and 2020. The dependent variable in this study includes firm value with the proxy of price to book value (PBV), and the independent variables include profitability with the proxy of return on assets (ROA), capital structure with the proxy of debt to equity ratio (DER), and firm size with the proxy of total assets. This study involves 84 samples with predetermined criteria selected through a purposive sampling technique and analyzed by multiple linear regression utilizing SPSS 26 software. The results of this study indicated that profitability and capital structure had a positive effect on firm value, while firm size did not have a positive effect on firm value. Abstrak Saat ini persaingan industri semakin ketat dan semua perusahaan dituntut agar dapat mengembangkan bisnisnya. Tidak sedikit perusahaan yang akhirnya memilih untuk menghimpun modal melalui bursa saham. Ketika memasuki bursa saham para emiten harus memikirkan cara untuk menarik investor dan salah satu yang dapat dilakukan yaitu dengan meningkatkan nilai perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh profitabilitas, struktur modal, dan ukuran perusahaan terhadap nilai perusahaan pada perusahaan di sub-sektor makanan dan minuman yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode tahun 2018 – 2020. Variabel dependen pada penelitian ini adalah nilai perusahaan yang diproksikan oleh price to book value (PBV), sedangkan variabel independen yaitu profitabilitas yang diproksikan oleh return on assets (ROA), struktur modal yang diproksikan oleh debt to equity ratio (DER), dan ukuran perusahaan yang diproksikan oleh total aset. Teknik pengambilan sampel penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan didapatkan total sampel sebanyak 84 yang memenuhi kriteria penelitian. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi linier berganda dengan menggunakan program SPSS 26. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa profitabilitas dan struktur modal berpengaruh positif terhadap nilai perusahaan, sedangkan ukuran perusahaan tidak berpengaruh positif terhadap nilai perusahaan.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) disclosure on company market share with control variables of firm value and profitability of coal mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2018-2021. The study samples include 100 coal mining companies selected through purposive sampling and are analyzed by panel data regression utilizing EViews 12 software. The results of the study exhibited that both Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) disclosure and the control variables (firm value and profitability) had a positive and significant effect on company market share, implying that CSR disclosure is one of the indicators of general impression improvement on company performance for the surroundings, leading to continuous market share growth. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh pengungkapan Corporate Sosial Responsibility (CSR) terhadap pangsa pasar perusahaan dengan variable kontrol nilai perusahaan dan profitabilitas pada perusahaan pertambangan batu bara yang listing di Bursa Efek Indonesia tahun 2018-2021. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, sebanyak 100 sampel perusahaan pertambangan batu bara berhasil dikumpulkan. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis regresi data panel menggunakan aplikasi EViews 12. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan bahwa pengungkapan Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pangsa pasar perusahaan. Sedangkan untuk variable kontrol nilai perusahaan, dan profitabilitas berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pangsa pasar perusahaan. Hal ini, mengindikasikan bahwa pengungkapan CSR menjadi salah satu indikator peningkatan impresi publik terhadap kinerja perusahaan yang dilakukan untuk lingkungan sekitarnya, dan berdampak secara kontinu terhadap peningkatan pangsa pasar perusahaan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of whistleblowing system in preventing violation cases on 4 Largest State-Owned Banks in Indonesia between 2019 and 2022. This study employs descriptive qualitative approach, involving secondary data of the companies' Annual Report containing data on violation reporting through the whistleblowing system mechanism. The data are collected from a literature study by conducting qualitative content analysis. The results and discussion of this study exhibit that the Whistleblowing System implementations of PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk and PT. Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk. have been effective in detecting and preventing fraud, different from those of PT. Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk and PT. Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk which are still less effective in detecting and preventing fraud.

Abstract

Good government governance requires the Central Government to have the Central Government Financial Report (LKPP) audited by the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) at the end of the fiscal year as a public accountability. This study aims to examine the effect of time budget pressure, independence, and auditor experience on the accuracy of providing audit opinion by the Audit Board of the Representatives of the Province of East Java in Sidoarjo City. This study includes primary data from the questionnaires filled by 86 respondents selected through the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling technique. The results of this study indicated that time budget pressure had the strongest effect compared to the other variables, implying that higher time budget pressure, independence and experience of the auditor led to a higher effect on the accuracy of providing audit opinion, especially the time budget pressure as the dominant effect. Abstrak Untuk mejuwujudkan tatakelola pemerintahan yang baik (good government governance), Pemerintah Pusat wajib menyampaikan Laporan Keuangan Pemerintah Pusat (LKPP) kepada Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan (BPK) untuk diaudit setiap akhir tahun anggaran sebagai bentuk pertanggungjawaban publik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh teknanan anggaran waktu, independensi, dan pengalaman auditor terhadap ketepatan pemberian opini audit. Objek penelitian ini adalah Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan Perwakilan Provinsi Jawa Timur di Kota Sidoarjo. Metode penentuan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Teknik Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling dengan menggunakan data primer berupa hasil kuesioner yang diisi oleh responden dengan sampel sebanyak 86. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan variabel tekanan anggaran waktu mempunyai pengaruh yang paling kuat dibandingkan dengan variabel yang lainnya. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi tekanan anggaran waktu, independensi dan pengalaman auditor maka akan semakin tinggi pengaruhnya terhadap ketepatan pemberian opini audit, terutama variabel tekanan anggaran waktu yang mempunyai pengaruh yang paling dominan.

Abstract

Purpose - This study explores business practices in public accounting firms, particularly in East Java, along with ethical issues raised by the practices.Method - This study applied a qualitative approach in which data were collected through in-depth interviews with 12 public accountants from various public accounting firms. Then, the data were analysed based on a rational-religious perspective as suggested by Buya Hamka.Result - The findings of this study indicated many ethical concerns in public accountant practices, despite they comprehend about ethical standards contained in the professional code of ethics. All those problems were actuated by the financial fulfillment of the public accountant, which deviated from ethical values as signified by Hamka.Implication - Public accountants should implement Hamka’s virtues in professional practices as a reflection of Islamic principles.Originality - This research is the first study that used the virtues of Buya Hamka in public accountant practices.
