Abstract

The type of in this research is the experimental of research with using of model POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) held in to SMAN 4 Pasangkayu XI science of class. The experiment class (XI IPA 2) using POE learning the model cinsists of 21 student and the class of control (XI IPA 1) using of research conventional learning model to consists of 17 students. This research aims to determine the effect learning of a POE model on learning outcomes in chemistry class XI science student of SMAN 4 Pasangkayu. The test was gave before and after the learning twice (pretest and posttest). The observation sheet was used to observe student’s learning of activities. T test was performed after normality test and data homogenity. Based on the data analysis the average for experiment class is 11.07 with the mastery percentage of 71.42% while of 28.57% did not completed. For a control class average to valve 9,08 with the percentage completeness to valve learning a student 41.17% while not completed of 58.82%. In this matter to pointed that there are to affect of POE model on learning result in chemistry to XI exact science of class with material on the solubility and product solubility to SMAN 4 of Pasangkayu, cause can to interest layer and result of student learning.

Abstract

The research aim was to study the effect of adding % weight alumina on the conductivity of polymer electrolyte chitosan-PVA-lithium. The characterization of functional groups was determined using fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR). The Ionic conductivity of polymer electrolyte chitosan-PVA-lithium-alumina was measured by using impedance spectroscopy. The measurement results show the polymer electrolyte with the addition of 5% alumina provides the highest ionic conductivity of 3.991 x 10-3S/cm. Battery characteristics of electrolyte polymer of chitosan-PVA-lithium with the addition of alumina have a voltage of 1.4 Volts compared to commercial batteries which have a voltage of 1.5 Volts. These results indicate that alumina can be used as a filler to increase the ionic conductivity.

Abstract

This research aims to study the concentration effect percentage weight of kayu jawa latex on the conductivity of membranes made from chitosan-PVA-lithium. The ionic conductivity of the membrane chitosan-PVA-lithium-latex kayu jawa was measured by impedance spectroscopy. The measurement results showed that membrane with the addition of 15% latex kayu jawa provided the highest conductivity values of 10.99353 x 10-4 S/cm. Characterization of the polymer electrolyte batteries that made from chitosan-PVA-lithium with the addition of latex kayu jawa have voltage of 1.5 Volts compared to commercial batteries that have tension was 1.5 Volts. These results indicated that latex kayu can be used as a filler to increase the ionic conductivity.

Abstract

A research about the bioabsorption of Pb(II) using the tangerine peel (Citrus reticulata) has been done. The purpose of this study is to determine the optimum contact time of tangerine peel and to determine the pH of the tangerine peel on the adsorption power of Pb(II) in solution. The method used in this study was a laboratory experiment using the tangerine peel waste as the adsorbent of Pb(II). The concentration of Pb(II) adsorbed was measured using a spectrophotometer spectrodirect. The results showed that the optimum contact time of adsorption the metal ions Pb(II) was 60 minutes with the absorption efficiency of 96.19%. The pH optimum of adsorption of the metal ion Pb(II) was at pH 4.0 with the absorption efficiency of 93.05%.

Abstract

The research was conducted to determine the digestion power is highest of Zn metal with the combination of mineral acids in the estuarine sediments of Palu River samples. Zn metal concentrations in the sediments were analysed by Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) at a wavelength of 231.9 nm. The results showed that water content ranged between 30.36%-37.18%, ash content ranged from 52.40%-68.76%, and biomass content ranged from 0.88%-10.42%. Analysis of AAS showed the significant average of Zn metal on a combination of mineral acids HNO3-H2SO(1:1) was 289.95182.49 mg/kg, and on a combination of mineral acids HNO3-HCl (1:3) was 669.18447.2 mg/kg. While calculation results of the relative standard deviation values were 25.35% for the combination of mineral acids HNO3-H2SO4 (1:1), and 22% for the combination of mineral acids HNO3-HCl (1:3). The combination of mineral acids having the highest digestion to the Zn metal in the estuarine sediments of Palu River was a combination of mineral acids HNO3-HCl (1:3).

Abstract

Banana fruit is a fruit that contains many nutrients. One of that is b-carotene, b-carotene is a provitamin that plays an important role in the formation of vitamin A. This study aimed to determine the levels of β-carotene in raja and kepok bananas. This research used a qualitative and quantitative method, which is the qualitative method using TLC while the quantitative method using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The TLC results obtained that Rf b-carotene comparison was 0.97 cm, Rf of banana raja extract was 0.96 cm and banana kepok extract was 0.97 cm. Based on the UV-Vis spectrophotometry result, b-carotene content of raja banana fruit was 0.222 mg/100 grams while the kepok banana fruit was 0.261 mg/100 grams, therefore the highest level was banana kepok.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of mango seed extract concentration on the rate of corrosion of iron nails in corrosive medium of NaCl solution and seawater as comparison.The research begins with maceration of mango seeds followed by evaporation to produce the extract as an inhibitor with a variation of concentration 1 - 5%. The method of determining the corrosion rate was the weight loss method with soaking for 7 days. The results showed that the highest corrosion inhibition efficiency occurred at 3% concentration for immersion with corrosive medium of 3% NaCl and 2% concentration for soaking in sea water with efficiency respectively 15.34% and 10.63%. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the increasing concentration of mango seed extract resulted in the efficiency effect on corrosion of nails.

Abstract

Rambutan peel is one source of biocharcoal production to adsorb metal ions because of the potential of cellulose content. This study aimed to describe the characteristics of biocharcoal from rambutan peel as well as to determine biocharcoal adsorption to zinc and copper based on the variation of biocharcoal weight and metal ions concentrations. The method used in this study was a laboratory experiment, and metals were analyzed using spectrophotometer spectroDirect. The results showed the moisture and ash levels of the biocharcoal were 0.4% and 5.4%, respectively. The optimum weight of biocharcoal to adsorb Zn and Cu ions was 40 mg with their percentage adsorption of 98.81% and 98.94%, respectively. The optimum concentration adsorption of biocharcoal to Zn ions was 40 ppm with the percentage adsorption of 98.32%, while for the Cu ions was 60 ppm with the percentage adsorption of 98.25%.

Abstract

Pengelolaan kelas dalam proses pengajaran khususnya mata pelajaran kimia akan menjadi signifikan agar hasil belajar menjadi optimal. Namun kegitan pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan saat ini kurang optimal sedangkan berdampak pada hasil belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi mahasiswa dalam manajemen kelas mata kuliah kimia anorganik. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kuantitatif. Metode dan instrument yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data yaitu instrument. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 40 mahasiswa. Teknik yang digunakan untuk menganalsis data yaitu analisis deskriptif kualitati dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi mahasiswa tentang GC berada pada kategori memuaskan dan merekomendasikan GC untuk digunakan dalam pelajaran lain. Effect size dihitung dari perbedaan rata-rata pre-test dan post-test sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran dengan menggunakan rumus Cohen dan diperoleh efektivitas GC menurut kriteria Cohen adalah 1,77, yang berarti bahwa ukuran efek Google Classroom luas; maka GC sangat efektif digunakan dalam mengajar mata kuliah kimia anorganik. Disimpulkan bahwa pengelolaan kelas melalui sistem instruksional berbasis WEB efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Jongi plant (Dillenia serrata Thunb) is one of the plants that found  Poso District. The characteristics of this fruit are mainly on the refreshing sour taste and attractive color which is yellow. This study aims to determine the levels of vitamin C and calcium in this fruit based on the level of maturity. The fruit of jongi used as a sample was categorized into there type of maturity namely mature, ripe, and overripe. The method used for vitamin C analysis was iodimetry and for calcium, analysis using spectrophotometry (λ: 422.7 nm). From the results of the analysis, it was obtained that the levels of vitamin C in fruit jongi successively were 81.84, 114.40, and 70.40 mg/100 g, while the calcium levels obtained in the fruits were 5.91, 5.65, and 6.46 mg/100 g. The data above showed that the maximum vitamin C content in jongi fruit when the fruit was in ripe type, while the highest calcium content in jongi fruit was when the fruit in overripe type.
