Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Drama Musikal dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa dan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan berbicara antara siswa yang memiliki kepercayaan diri tinggi dan mereka yang memiliki kepercayaan diri rendah. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Darma Bangsa, Bandar Lampung, yang terdiri dari 28 siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah quasi  eksperimental. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan yang signifikan pada kemampuan berbicara siswa setelah diajar menggunakan drama musikal dan ada juga perbedaan yang signifikan pada kemampuan berbicara siswa antara siswa yang memiliki kepercayaan diri tinggi dengan mereka yang memiliki kepercayaan diri rendah. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa Drama Musikal efektif untuk digunakan dalam mengajar speaking dan siswa dengan kepercayaan diri tinggi berbicara lebih baik daripada mereka yang memiliki kepercayaan diri rendah.This study was aimed to find out the effect of Musical Drama in improving the students’ speaking performance and to find out the speaking performance differences between the students who have high confidence and those with low confidence. The subjects of the research were the eleventh grade students of SMA Darma Bangsa, Bandar Lampung, consisting of 28 students.  The design of this study was quasi experimental research. The results of the research showed that there was a significant improvement in the students’ speaking performance after being taught using musical drama and There was also significant difference in students’ speaking performance between the students who have high confidence with those who have low confidence. It can be concluded that Musical Drama is effective for teaching speaking and the students with high confidence speak better than those with low confidence.Keywords: Confidence, musical drama, speaking performance.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to know whether there is a significant improvement of the students’ speaking ability after being taught through Role Play.The population of this research was the Second year students of SMA Negeri 1 Tanjungbintang. One group pre-test and post-test design was used.The mean score of pre-test was 57.13 and post-test was 82.  It proved that the students’ scores increase significantly because p0.05 (p=0.000). It can be concluded that there is a significant difference of students’ achievement in speaking ability after being taught through Role Play technique. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan apakah ada perbedaan yang signifikan dari pemahaman membaca dan untuk menemukan aspek dalam membaca yang memiliki peningkatan tertinggi setelah diajar melalui teknik RAPQ. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan dilaksanakan pada kelas VIII A, SMP Kartika Jaya II-2 Bandar Lampung yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Random sampling digunakan untuk memilih kelas dan paired sample t-test digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Alat pengumpulan data adalah tes reading comprehension. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa t-value lebih tinggi dari t-table (15.237 2.160). Hasil penelitian menunjukan nilai rata-rata dari pre-test adalah 53,5. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata post-test adalah 72. Vocabulary adalah aspek yang memiliki peningkatan tertinggi (6,67%). Oleh sebab itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada peningkatan dari pemahaman membaca siswa setelah diajarkan melalui teknik RAPQ.The objectives of this study were to find out the significant difference of students reading comprehension and to find out the aspects of reading comprehension that the most improved after being taught by using RAPQ technique. Abstract

The objectives of this research were to investigate whether there is positive influence after the implementation of TTW toward students’ descriptive writing achievement and to describe how is students’ response after they are taught by TTW. This research was a quantitative research. The sample of this research was the tenth graders of senior high school students. The writing test which consists of pre-test and post-test was used as the research instrument. The data were analyzed by using Paired Sample T-Test to answer the first question and descriptive statistics was used to answer the second question. The result showed that there was statistically an improvement of students’ descriptive writing achievement of which the result was significant to 0.000 0.05. Moreover, the students gave positive response toward the implementation of TTW. It was proved by the result of the analysis of the questionnaire of where the students mostly chose agree and strongly agree. Abstract

Penelitian ini menyelidiki perbedaan yang signifikan antara pelatihan metakognitif strategi reguler dan termodifikasi dalam meningkatkan pemahaman membaca serta penigkatan aspek pemahaman membaca yang diajar. Penelitian ini menerapkan desain eksperimen yang sebenarnya. Terdapat 26 siswa dalam kelompok eksperimental dan 27 siswa dalam kontrol sebagai sampel yang dipilih secara acak di SMAN 1 tegineneng Pesawaran. Untuk mengumpulkan data, tes digunakan. Data dari tes dianalisis dengan SPSS menghasilkan nilai signifikansi yang lebih rendah dari taraf signifikansi (0,000,05) yang berarti bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan pada peningkatan kemampuan membaca siswa antara pelatihan metakognitif strategi yang regular dan termodifikasi.. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan metakognitif strategy yang termodifikasi lebih baik untuk digunakan dan dapat meningkatkan pencapaian pemahaman siswa. Selain itu, kemampuan siswa dalam aspek  memahami detail teks meningkat paling signifikan.This research investigated the difference between modified and regular metacognitive strategy training in improving students' reading achievement and students’ reading aspects. This study applied the true experimental design. There were 26 experimental students and 27 control students as the sample chosen randomly at SMAN 1 Tegineneng. To collect the data, the reading test was employed. Data from the test were analyzed with SPSS resulting significance value that was lower than Sig level (0.00˂0.05) meaning that there is a significant difference between modified and regular metacognitive strategy training in improving students’ reading achievement. It is found that Modified metacognitive strategy training gets statistically significant difference in improving students' reading achievement. It also reveals that that supporting detail gets the best performance by the student.Keywords: Modified metacognitive strategy training, reading aspect, reading comprehension.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan yang signifikan dari task yang didisain berdasarkan gaya belajar siswa ditinjau dari kuantitas dan kualitas berbicara dan juga untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan dari kuantitas dan kualitas berbicara siswa diantara gaya belajar yang berbeda dan task yang didisain. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain one group repeated measures. Hasil analisis menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan dari task yang didisain berdasarkan gaya belajar siswa ditinjau dari kuantitas berbicara, namun tidak pada kualitasnya. Meskipun tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan pada kuantitas dan kualitas berbicara siswa dari gaya belajar yang berbeda dan task yang didisain, perbedaan tetap ada meskipun sedikit. Hal ini dilihat dari fluktuatif siswa ketika berinteraksi. Itu berarti pengelompokkan gaya belajar menurut Willing sesuai dengan konteks pembelajaran bahasa.The purposes of this study is to find out whether there is a significant difference among task design based on students learning style in the quantity and quality of speaking, and to find out whether there is a difference of students quantity and quality in speaking among students with different learning style and the speaking task. One group repeated measures design has been carried out in this research. The result of analysis shows that there is a significant difference among tasks design based on students learning style in the speaking quantity, but not for the quality.Although there is no difference of students quantity and quality in speaking among students with different learning style and the speaking task, there is still relative different. It can be seen from the fluctuation in their interaction. It seems that Willings classifications of learning style are compatible to language learning context.Keywords: speaking task, quantity and quality of students speaking, learning style

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara motivasi siswa dan pemahaman membaca mereka. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 40 siswa kelas dua Madrasah Tsanawiah Negeri di Bandar Lampung. Kuisioner dan tes membaca diberikan sebagai instrumen dari motivasi dan membaca. Data dianalisis menggunakan Pearson Product Moment Correlation di SPSS 16.0. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan koefisien korelasi antara motivasi siswa dan pemahaman membaca mereka sebesar 0,637 pada tingkat signifikan 0.01. Koefisien korelasi lebih tinggi dari nilai kritis r tabel (0.637 0.393). Oleh karena itu, hipotesis nol ditolak dan hipotesis penelitian diterima. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan antara motivasi siswa dan pemahaman membaca mereka.The aim of this study was to find out the correlation of students’ motivation and their reading comprehension. This research was quantitative research. The subjects of this research were 40 second grade students of Secondary Islamic School in Bandar Lampung. The questionnaire and reading tests were administrated as the instruments of motivation and reading. The data were analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment Correlation in SPSS 16.0. The result shows that the coefficient correlation between students’ motivation and their reading comprehension is 0.637 at the significant level of 0.01. The coefficient correlation is higher than the critical value of r table (0.6370.393). Therefore, the null hypothesis is rejected and the research hypothesis is accepted. Based on the result, it can be concluded that there is correlation between students’ motivation and their reading comprehension.Keywords: correlation, motivation, reading comprehension.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan partisipasi berbicara dari siswa yang memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis tinggi dan rendah. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain comparative study pada ex post facto. Data sampel dipilih dengan menggunakan sistem acak. Sampel diambil dari siswa kelas X SMAN 9 Bandar Lampung yaitu kelas X IPS 2 yang terdiri dari 30 siswa. Pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan kuisioner dan dianalisa dengan menggunakan SPSS pada level signifikan 0,05. Hasil menunjukan ada perbedaan partisipasi berbicara pada siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis tinggi dan rendah dengan nilai f adalah 16.256, N berjumlah 30 dan derajat kebebasan (dk) = n-1 sementara f table adalah 3.35 yang berarti Fvalue Ftable. Oleh karena itu hipotesis penelitian h1 diterima dan hipotesis h0 ditolak.The objective of this research is to find out the difference speaking participation between students with high and low critical thinking skill. The research design used comparative study design of ex post facto design. The samples of the research were selected by using simple random sampling from the students of the first grade of SMAN 9 Bandar Lampung. Class X IPS 2 was chosen as the sample class of this research which consists of 30 students. The data were collected by means of the questionnaire score and were analyzed by using SPSS at the significant level 0.05. The result showed that there was a difference between students with high and low critical thinking skill towards speaking participation. The result showed that F value is 16.256 with N 30 and degree of freedom (df) = n-1 while F table is 3.35. Thus, Fvalue Ftable. Therefore, the research hypothesis (H1) was accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected.Keywords: critical thinking skill, students, speaking participation

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate whether there was an improvement in student’s reading comprehension before and after being taught through LRD strategy and find out their response toward the strategy. This research conducted at SMPN 3 Jati Agung academic year 2019/2020, with the total number of samples was 32 third grade students. The data collected by using multiple choice and questionnaire. To analyze quantitative data, the researcher used t-test while qualitative data applied scale Likert. The result showed there was an improvement in student’s reading comprehension after being taught through LRD strategy with the significant level 0.05. The students also agreed this strategy was easy to follow in the lesson to understand the materials. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aspek-aspek menyimak yang meningkat secara signifikan dan mengetahui kesulitan siswa dalam pemahaman menyimak melalui video. Subjek penelitian adalah kelas XI 4D IPA SMA Negeri 1 Pringsewu. Penelitian menggunakan desain one group pretest posttest. Data dianalisis dengan Repeated Measure T-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dari pemahaman menyimak siswa setelah diajarkan dengan video. Hasil analisis SPSS menunjukkan bahwa t-value lebih tinggi dari t-tabel (9,248 2.032) dan Signifcance 2 tailed (p = 0.000, p 0.05). Hasil t-test menunjukan bahwa main idea (p = 0.000, p 0.05), specific information (p = 0.004, p 0.05), dan vocabulary (p = 0.001, p 0.05) meningkat secara signifikan setelah treatment. Hasil interview menunjukan bahwa masalah yang sering dihadapi siswa adalah pengucapan, kosakata, kecepatan berbicara, dan logat penutur. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan video dapat meningkatkan prestasi pemahaman mendengarkan siswa.The purposes of this research were to find out the aspects of listening that significantly improve and to find out the students‟ difficulties in listening comprehension through video. The subject of the research was class XI 4D IPA SMA Negeri 1 Pringsewu. The study applied one group pretest posttest design. The data were analyzed by using Repeated Measure T-test. The results of the research showed that there was a significant increase of students‟ listening comprehension achievement after being taught through video. The result of SPSS analysis showed that t-value was higher than t-table (9.2482032) and significance 2 tailed (p=0.000, p0.05). The results of t-test showed that main idea (p=0.000, p0.05), specific information (p=0.004, p0.05), and vocabulary (p=0.001, p0.05) significantly increased after treatments. Results of interview showed that the most problem faced by students were pronunciation, vocabulary, speed of the speech, accent of the speaker. For the conclusion, the use of video can improve students‟ listening comprehension achievement.Keywords: aspects of listening, improving, video
