Based on interview with biology teacher in SMP N 22 Bandar Lampung, student’s critical thinking skill were not optimally developed. Alternative that can be used to improve student’s critical thinking is problem based learning (PBL) model. This experiment aims to find out the influence of PBLmodel towards improvement of student’s critical thinking skill. This is quasi experiment using pretest posttest group non equivalent design. Sample are students from VIIIA and VIII B which selected from population by random sampling method. Quantitative data from the average of pretest, posttest and N-gain which statistically analyzed with Mann Whitney-U test. Qualitative data are student’s critical thinking skilldescription, learning activities and student’s response about applicating PBL model which descriptively analyzed. Result of this experiment showed that student’s critical thinking skill improved significantly in giving reason (18,34%) and giving solution (44,36%)whereas not in formulating problem, hypothesize and interpretating statement.The student’s learning activities in all observed aspects (78,49%). Student’s learning activities improved in asking question (6,4%)and presenting group discussion result (16,45%) which are at high level. The students (86,25%) also give positive response in PBL. This research was aimed to know the ability of senior high school biology teacher in Pringsewu in developing syllabus, lesson plan and its suitability. The design of the research is simple descriptive. This research involved 15 senior high school biology teacher in Pringsewu. Data used assessment guide of quantitative data and analyzed descriptively. The results of research showed that senior high school biology teacher in Pringsewu had “high” criterian in developing syllabus, lesson plan and its suitability. For lesson plan, indicator competence of pre-activity showed “less” criterian and indicator competence of post-activity showed “low” criterian.Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kemampuan guru biologi SMA Negeri di Kabupeten Pringsewu dalam mengembangkan silabus dan RPP serta kesesuaian antara silabus dan RPP. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif sederhana. Penelitian ini melibatkan 15 guru biologi SMA di Kabupaten Pringsewu. Data menggunakan panduan penilaian dalam bentuk data kuantitatif kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru biologi SMAN Kabupaten Pringsewu dalam mengembangkan silabus dan RPP serta kesesuaian antara silabus dan RPP berkriteria “tinggi”. Pada RPP, di indikator kompetensi kegiatan awal pembelajaran berkriteria “kurang”. dan di indikator kompetensi kegiatan penutup pembelajaran berkriteria “rendah”.Kata kunci : guru biologi, indikator kompetensi, RPP, silabus

This research aimed to describe how the teachers profile in teaching science in 5th grade of Rajabasa elementary school. Subjects research were six science teachers for class V elementary school from six schools in Rajabasa district. Teachers sampling chose by purposive sampling technique. Qualitative data were obtained from learning activity observation sheet by six teachers during the learning process. Data were analyzed descriptively and compared to the process standard that apply contructivism and scientific approach learning. The result showed that learning activity had suitability with process standard that apply contructivism learning with average percentage 51,84% that is medium category. According to the scientific approach learning had average 23,33% that is low category. Therefore science learning based on standard process that apply contructivism and scientific approach learning in Rajabasa district has medium category.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil guru dalam pembelajaran IPA pada kelas V Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Rajabasa. Subjek penelitian ini adalah enam guru IPA pada kelas V Sekolah Dasar dari enam sekolah di kecamatan Rajabasa. Sampling guru dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data kualitatif diperoleh melalui lembar observasi kegiatan pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh keenam guru pada saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Data kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan dibandingkan dengan standar proses yang menerapkan pembelajaran konstruktivisme dan pendekatan saintifik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesesuaian pembelajaran IPA dengan standar proses yang menerapkan pembelajaran konstruktivisme memiliki presentasi skor rata-rata 51,84% berkategori sedang. Pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik memiliki presentasi skor rata-rata 23,33% berkategori rendah. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan pembelajaran IPA berdasarkan standar proses yang menerapkan pembelajaran konstruktivisme dan pendekatan saintifik di SD kecamatan Rajabasa berkategori sedang.Kata kunci : kontruktivisme, pembelajaran IPA, pendekatan saintifik, profil guru, standar proses

The purpose of this research was to find out the influence of discovery learning model to critical thinking skill and students learning activity on immune system subject matter. The sample were students of IX IPA1 and IPA2 SMAN 16 Bandar Lampung. The design of this research was pretest posttest non equivalent. The quantitative data were critical thinking skill that were obtained from pretest and posttest which analyzed by using t-test and U-test with signification level of 5%. Learning activity data and students perception were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that N-gain of critical thinking skill on experiment class was 45,63 which was higher than control class was 29,36. Learning activity on experiment class was 75% which was higher than control class was 59,19%. Therefore, discovery learning model gave significantly influence in improvement of critical thinking skill and students learning activity on immune system subject matter.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model discovery learning terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dan aktivitas belajar siswa pada materi sistem pertahanan tubuh. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas IX IPA1 dan IPA2 SMAN 16 Bandar Lampung. Desain penelitian pretest posttest non equivalent. Data kuantitatif berupa keterampilan berpikir kritis yang diperoleh dari pretest dan posttest dan dianalisis menggunakan uji-t dan U dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Data aktivitas belajar dan tanggapan siswa dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan N-gain keterampilan berpikir kritis kelas eksperimen (45,63) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol (29,36). Aktivitas belajar kelas eksperimen (75%) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol (59,19%). Sehingga, model discovery learning berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan aktivitas belajar siswa pada materi sistem pertahanan tubuh.Kata kunci: aktivitas belajar, berpikir kritis, discovery learning

This research was conducted to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on the communication and creative thinking ability of SMP IT Fitrah Insani students in Science learning material on environmental pollution. The design used in the study was a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. The subject of the research were students of class VII A and VII C, which were 60 students that were selected through cluster random sampling technique. The data analysis were pretest-posttest and N-gain score were tested using the Independent sample t-Test and Mann-Whitney U test. The aims of this study were to describe the profile and pattern of students' cooperative ability in science learning at SD Negeri 02 Rajabasa Jaya Bandar Lampung. This research was descriptive research. The sampling used saturated sampling technique, that was all students of class IV and V. The data were in the form of description on students' which were gained from the observation. The data were obtained from questionnaire given to students. The results showed that the ability of student cooperative in science learning in general has been classified as good with the percentage of 52.5% seen from the observation sheet and the questionnaires about the ability of students cooperative in general have been classified high with percentage of 69%. The pattern of cooperative formed at school was contractual cooperation.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil dan pola kemampuan kerjasama siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA di SD Negeri 02 Rajabasa Jaya Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh, yaitu seluruh siswa kelas IV dan V. Data berupa deskripsi tentang kerjasama siswa yang diperoleh dari lembar observasi. Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh dari angket yang diberikan kepada siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan kerjasama siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA secara umum sudah tergolong baik dengan persentase 52,5% dilihat dari lembar observasi. Dilihat dari angket kemampuan kerjasama siswa secara umum sudah tergolong tinggi dengan persentase 69%. Pola kerjasama yang terbentuk pada sekolah yaitu pola kerjasama kontrak.Kata kunci: profil kemampuan kerjasama, pola kerjasama, pembelajaran IPA

The observation at X class SMA N 3 Kotabumi, known that mastery of material by students are still low. An alternative models to solve that is STAD. The objectives of this research were to know the influence of STAD model in improving student learning activities and mastery of material. The research is a quasi experiment with design pretest-posttest nonequivalent. The sample was students at X7 and X6 which chosen with purposive sampling. The quantitative data was gattered from value pretest, posttest, and N-gain score which was analyzed statistic using t-test. The qualitative data in form of description activities and questionnaire of students response of using STAD models. The result of student learning activities are in average good criteria. In the aspect worth asking (86.3%), answer questions (76.9%) and expression (87.7%). Mastery of the material has increased, with N-gain average (0,73). Questionnaire showed that all group leaders felt aid group members in discussions and members find it easier to understand the material and with the help of leaders in discussions. Thus, that the application of the model STAD effect on the activities and significant effect mastery of the material. This research aim was to describe students' misconception in the concept of plants photosynthesis and respiration and all factors that affected students' misconception. This research used descriptive design. The Samples were 351 SMP students of VIII grade at Tumijajar district academic year 2015/2016 which were chosen by using purposive sampling technique. Data were collected by multiple choicetest and student questionnaire. The test result were analyzed using the CRI, while the student questionnaire were analyzed using Pearson correlation test. The result of data analysis showed that students get misconception that was 57,30% with "adequate" criteria. The misconception was commonly on respiration concept with the "high" criteria (62,10%). Pearson correlation test results showed that the factors correlated to students' misconceptions that was motivation factor. There are only 16,24% students who have learned about plant photosynthesis and respiration concept on their home before learning with teacher of the school. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui gambaran miskonsepsi siswa pada konsep fotosintesis dan respirasi tumbuhan, serta faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap miskonsepsi siswa. Desain penelitian dengan desain penelitian deskriptif. Sampel terdiri atas 351 siswa kelas VIII SMP se- Kecamatan Tumijajar pada tahun ajaran 2015/2016 yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes CRI dan angket siswa. Hasil analisisdata menunjukkan rerata miskonsepsi siswa kelas VIII se-kecamatan tumijajar sebesar 57,30% dengan kriteria sedang. Miskonsepsi paling sering terjadi pada konsep respirasi dengan kriteria tinggi (62,10%). Hasil uji korelasi pearson angket siswa menunjukkan faktor yang berkorelasi terhadap miskonsepsi siswa yaitu faktor motivasi siswa. Hasil angket menunjukkan hanya sebesar 16,24% siswa yang belajar konsep fotosintesis dan respirasi tumbuhan dirumah sebelum belajar bersama guru disekolah.Kata kunci : CRI, faktor miskonsepsi, fotosintesis, miskonsepsi, respirasi

The research was intended to provide an overview of the actual conditions of local wisdom in the West Coast, then inserted to the books of learners. The design used in this research was simple descriptive. Data collecting technique using triagulation that was questionnaire to obtain the attractiveness books from 31 students, interviews of community leaders in West Coast about repong damar, interview of IV grade teachers about implementation of local wisdom in school, literature search about broad repong damar and field notes to obtain supporting information in the field. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive technique. The overall exposure sourced from the data obtained describe the local wisdom and the importance of preservation efforts of local wisdom in West Coast. The results of the book's attractiveness test criteria was 97.1% "interesting". Penelitian ditujukan untuk memberikan gambaran kondisi yang sebenarnya tentang kearifan lokal di Pesisir Barat, selanjutnya disisipkan dalam buku peserta didik. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif sederhana. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan triagulasi data yaitu angket untuk memperoleh data kemenarikan buku dari 31 peserta didik, wawancara tokoh masyarakat tentang repong damar, wawancara guru kelas IV tentang implementasi kearifan lokal di sekolah, studi literatur mengenai repong damar, dan catatan lapangan untuk memperoleh informasi pendukung di lapangan. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Pemaparan secara menyeluruh yang bersumber dari data yang diperoleh sehingga mengambarkan kearifan lokal serta pentingnya upaya pelestarian kearifan lokal di Pesisir Barat. Hasil uji kemenarikan buku peserta didik berkriteria “menarik” 97,1%.Kata kunci: buku peserta didik, IPA, kearifan lokal, pelestarian lingkungan

This study aimed to determine the different self-efficacy between males and females students and the correlation between self-efficacy based on gender with sciences learning outcomes. This study used descriptive correlational design. The samples were VIIIgrade students at SMP in Labuhan Ratu Region amounted of 279 students who were selected trough purposive sampling technique. Data of students self-efficacy were obtained from self-efficacy scale and data of sciences learning outcomes were obtained from test. The result data were analyzed using independent sample t-test and Pearson Product Moment. The result of t-test showed that the difference on self-efficacy between males and females students were not significant. The result of correlation test showed that there was positive and significant relationship between self-efficacy based on gender with sciences learning outcomes. Coefficient correlation indicated weak relationship between self-efficacy and sciences learning outcomes. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan perbedaan self-efficacy antara siswa laki-laki dengan perempuan serta hubungan antara self-efficacy berdasarkan gender dengan hasil belajar IPA. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif korelasional. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP di Kecamatan Labuhan Ratu yang berjumlah 279 dan dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data self-efficacy siswa diperoleh melalui skala self-efficacy dan data hasil belajar IPA diperoleh melalui tes. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji-t sampel independen dan uji Pearson Product Moment. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang tidak signifikan antara self-efficacy yang dimiliki siswa laki-laki dengan perempuan. Hasil uji korelasi menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara self-efficacy berdasarkan gender dengan hasil belajar IPA. Adapun nilai koefisien yang dihasilkan pada uji korelasi mengindikasikan hubungan yang rendah antara self-efficacy berdasarkan gender dengan hasil belajar IPA.
