Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in mathematical reasoning ability (KPM) based on gender variation (VG) and mathematical self-efficacy (SEM). Quantitative research was chosen to answer the research question. The research design used comparative causality on 75 students at a State University in Mataram City. Data collection was based on gender variance in the selected sample (51 women and 24 men, KPM test scores consisting of 5 items, and a 20-point SEM questionnaire, which were further categorized into 3 levels (low, medium and high). Analysis The data used two-way ANOVA with a 3 x 2 factorial design. The post-anava follow-up test used the turkey test. The results showed that male KPM was better than female KPM. Based on SEM category, student KPM at high SEM was better than student KPM at low SEM This finding emphasizes the importance of instructors being able to observe the characteristics of self-efficacy and gender variations that have an impact on the mathematics learning process.

Abstract

Abstrak: Persamaan non-linear kerap menjadi model matematika yang menggambarkan situasi dalam berbagai bidang, seperti bidang Teknik maupun bidang biologi. Penentuan akar penyelesaian persamaan non-linear menjadi hal yang perlu dikaji mengingat kartaktersitk dari persamaan tersebut tidak dapat diselesaikan dengan cara analitik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui metode terbaik dalam menentukan akar-akar Persamaan Non-Linier. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan membandingkan tiga metode, yaitu Metode Newton Midpoint Halley (NMH), Metode Olver, dan Metode Chebyshev dalam menyelesaikan persamaan non-linear berbentuk polinomial, trigonometri, eksponensial, dan campuran (trigonometri dan exponensial). Parameter simulasi menggunakan error sebesar 0.001. Hasil analisis diperoleh bahwa dari tiga metode yang digunakan, laju konvergensi tercepat dalam menentukan akar-akar persamaan non-linear (polinomial, trigonometri, eksponensial, campuran trigonometri dan exponensial) yaitu menggunakan metode Newton Midpoint Halley (NMH). sehingga metode terbaik dalam menyelsaikan akar-akar persamaan non-linear adalah metode Newton Midpoint Halley (NMH). Abstract: Non-linear equations often become mathematical models that describe situations in various fields, such as engineering and biology. Determining the roots of solving non-linear equations is something that needs to be studied considering that the characteristics of these equations cannot be solved by analytical means. The purpose of this research is to find out the best method for determining the roots of non-linear equations. The research method was carried out by comparing three methods, namely the Newton Midpoint Halley Method (NMH), Olver Method, and the Chebyshev Method in solving non-linear equations in the form of polynomials, trigonometry, exponentials, and mixtures (trigonometry and exponential). The simulation parameters use an error of 0.001. The results of the analysis show that of the three methods used, the fastest convergence rate in determining the roots of non-linear equations (polynomial, trigonometry, exponential, mixed trigonometry and exponential) is using the Newton Midpoint Halley (NMH) method. so that the best method for solving the roots of non-linear equations is the Newton Midpoint Halley (NMH) method.

Abstract

The ability to understand concepts is an ability that supports students' ability to solve problems. However, psychological factors in the form of mathematical self-efficacy and gender, which are factors influencing this ability, have not been investigated much. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability to understand concepts based on mathematical self-efficacy and gender in problem-based learning situations. The one-shot case study design was applied to 70 grade 8 junior high school students in one of the schools in Mataram City selected by the purposive sampling technique. Data collection uses a concept understanding ability test, a mathematical self-efficacy questionnaire, and gender categorization. Data analysis techniques used were the one-sample t-test and the Anacova test. The results of the study show that the PBL model can assist students in developing conceptual understanding skills. Subsequent findings state that mathematical self-efficacy and gender are factors that determine students' ability to understand concepts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan karakteristik dari model praktikum untuk mengembangkan keterampilan mahasiswa calon guru dalam melaksanakan penilaian pembelajaran. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan yang mengacu pada model Design Research. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa model praktikum yang relevan untuk maksud tersebut adalah model praktikum yang mengembangkan keterampilan calon guru (selaku perancang instrumen penilaian) dalam (1) mengembangkan butir soal pilihan ganda, (2) mengembangkan butir soal uraian, dan (3) menganalisis kualitas dari butir soal tersebut baik secara kualitatif maupun kuantitatif. Ketiga kegiatan praktikum tersebut dirancang dalam suatu bentuk kegiatan pengembangan, yaitu pengembangan butir soal. Dalam rancangan kegiatan pengembangan tersebut, praktikan mengalami tiga tahapan kegiatan, yaitu (1) proses perencanaan (yaitu perumusan butir soal berdasarkan analisis kompetensi dan penyusunannya dalam suatu bentuk instrumen penilaian), (2) validasi instrumen penilaian baik secara kualitatif (validasi isi dan konstruksi) maupun secara kuantitatif (analisis butir), dan (3) perbaikan instrumen penilaian berdasarkan hasil validasi. Dalam model praktikum tersebut mahasiswa dilatih untuk menguasai: (1) keterampilan menerjemahkan kompetensi belajar ke dalam indikator belajar, (2) keterampilan merumuskan indikator soal berdasarkan indikator belajar, (3) keterampilan menyusun soal berdasarkan indikator soal beserta pedoman penskoran yang sesuai, dan (4) keterampilan menyajikan soal dalam suatu bentuk instrumen penilaian yang siap untuk digunakan sebagai alat penilaian. Pemahaman siswa tentang sasaran pembelajaran (kognitif, apektif, dan psikomotorik) dan pemahaman kebahasaan adalah dua faktor yang penting yang mempengaruhi kualitas butir instrumen penilaian yang dirumuskan oleh praktikan.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara penggunaan jejaring sosial facebook terhadap prestasi belajar siswa. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa MTs. Syamsul Huda Peresak yang berjumlah 34 orang. Penelitina ini merupakan penelitian korelasional. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket tentang penggunaan jejaring sosial facebook dan dokumentasi hasil prestasi belajar siswa. Analisis menggunakan korelasi product moment. Hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa nilai sig. = 0.775 > 0.05 = ?, sehingga disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikat antara penggunaan jejaring sosial facebook terhadap prestasi belajar siswa. Abstract The purpose of this research was to find out the relationship between using the facebook as social networking toward student achievement. The subjects in this study were students of MTs Syamsul Huda Peresak with total 34 students. This research is a correlational research. The data collection uses a questionnaire about the user of social networking Facebook and the documentation results of student learning achievements. The analysis uses product moment correlation. The results of data analysis show that the sig value. = 0.775> 0.05 = ?, so it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between using of Facebook as social networks to student learning achievements.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the difference between students with high and low levels of mathematical self-efficacy regarding their interest in learning mathematics at the high school level (SMA). The research design employed is quantitative. Data analysis utilized an independent samples t-test conducted via IBM SPSS Statistics 25. The study involved distributing questionnaires to 51 high school students from grades X, XI, and XII. Data processing included preliminary tests such as normality and homogeneity tests, followed by the Independent Samples t-test with a significance level of 5%. The hypothesis testing results using the Independent Samples t-test indicated a significance value (2-tailed) for equal variances assumed of 0.787 > 0.05, suggesting a difference between students with high and low levels of mathematical self-efficacy concerning their interest in learning mathematics at the high school level.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan melibatkan 53 responden dari berbagai jenis Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA/MA/SMK), dengan 9 siswa laki-laki dan 44 siswa perempuan. Instrumen utama yang digunakan adalah angket yang difokuskan pada dua variabel utama, yakni self-efficacy matematis dan minat belajar matematika. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengumpulkan data yang representatif dan relevan mengenai self-efficacy matematis dan minat belajar matematika di tingkat SMA. Setelah proses pengumpulan data, dilakukan analisis menggunakan regresi linier berganda untuk mengidentifikasi korelasi antara self-efficacy matematis dan minat belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan dalam self-efficacy matematis antara siswa dengan minat belajar matematika tinggi dan rendah. Implikasi penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya mempertimbangkan faktor-faktor seperti pengalaman awal, dukungan orang tua, dan strategi pembelajaran dalam merancang strategi efektif untuk meningkatkan self-efficacy dan hasil belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran matematika di SMA. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan kontribusi dalam pemahaman dan perbaikan proses pembelajaran matematika di tingkat SMA.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian sistematis atas penggunaan teknologi dalam pembelajaran matematika untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa telah dilakukan melalui pengindeksan Scopus, DOAJ, dan Google Scholar dengan fokus pada terbitan tahun 2014-2024. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi-strategi yang mengintegrasikan teknologi telah diusulkan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Pendekatan holistik yang melibatkan partisipasi aktif mahasiswa dengan teknologi, termasuk penggunaan multimedia interaktif dan penerapan metode pembelajaran berbasis masalah, terbukti efektif dalam konteks pembelajaran matematika. Dukungan dari penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa integrasi teknologi dalam pembelajaran matematika mampu menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang menarik dan mendalam. Meskipun demikian, terdapat kesenjangan penelitian yang perlu diteliti lebih lanjut. Pertama, evaluasi lebih lanjut terhadap penggunaan video pembelajaran dan alat pembelajaran berbasis kelas terbalik diperlukan untuk menilai dampaknya terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa dalam konteks matematika. Kedua, penelitian lebih lanjut tentang efektivitas pendekatan Sains Teknologi Rekayasa Matematika (STEM) diharapkan untuk memahami kontribusinya dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam pembelajaran matematika.Abstract: Systematic research on the utilization of technology in mathematics education to enhance students' critical thinking skills has been conducted through indexing in Scopus, DOAJ, and Google Scholar, focusing on publications from 2014 to 2024. The findings indicate that strategies integrating technology have been proposed to improve critical thinking skills. A holistic approach involving active student participation with technology, including the use of interactive multimedia and the application of problem-based learning methods, has proven effective in the context of mathematics education. Support from this research reaffirms that the integration of technology in mathematics education can create engaging and profound learning environments. However, there are research gaps that require further investigation. Firstly, further evaluation of the use of instructional videos and flipped classroom tools is needed to assess their impact on students' critical thinking skills in the context of mathematics. Secondly, further research on the effectiveness of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) approach is expected to understand its contribution to enhancing critical thinking abilities in mathematics education.

Abstract

Abstract:  This study aims to evaluate the Teaching Effectiveness, Digital Literacy, and Feedback on Student Assignments using ChatGPT in the context of mathematics education in higher education settings. A quantitative method was employed with a sample of 29 students from various semesters. The research instrument utilized was a questionnaire using the Likert Scale, comprising 10 items to measure Teaching Effectiveness, 9 items for Digital Literacy, and 7 items for Feedback on Student Assignments. Descriptive statistical analysis revealed average scores of 73.586 for Teaching Effectiveness, 73.180 for Digital Literacy, and 73.990 for Feedback on Student Assignments. These findings provide deeper insights into students' perceptions of ChatGPT usage in mathematics education and offer insights into the distribution and characteristics of values obtained from respondents. The implications of this research can be utilized for the development and enhancement of ChatGPT's utilization in providing effective feedback on student assignments in academic environments.

Abstract

Mathematical creative thinking ability is a student's ability to create or find new ideas in solving a problem. Everyone must have the ability to think creatively, especially students. The ability to think creatively plays an important role in the progress of every student. However, in reality, many students are not able to solve a problem using their creative thinking skills. This is possible because students do not get used to thinking (habits of mind). This research aims to determine students' mathematical creative thinking abilities in solving circle problems in terms of habits of mind. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a case study type of research. There are three data collection techniques used, namely: tests, questionnaires and interviews. The results showed that 6 subjects who had high habits of mind were able to show all indicators of mathematical creative thinking ability, 12 subjects who had moderate habits of mind were able to show three indicators of mathematical creative thinking ability and 3 subjects who had low habits of mind were only able to show one indicator of mathematical creative thinking ability. So, habits of mind have an impact on students' mathematical creative thinking abilities.
