Abstract

Kabupaten Aceh Jaya is a very potential Aceh patchouli production center. The development of the patchouli industry sector in Aceh faces serious challenges, especially the capacity building of farmers towards good agriculture practices, and innovation and technology. This study aims to identify the level of empowerment of farmers and the affecting factors. The study employed a questionnaire survey to 88 samples from 383 populations. Data analysis used a descriptive method and chi-square test. The results show that a low level of farmer empowerment is predominantly. The weakest elements are the ability to cooperate and solidarity; meanwhile, the ability to overcome obstacles is the highest, followed by the awareness and desire to change, and the ability to increase capacity to gain access. Farmer's perceptions on the group institutions, and program intervention have a significant association with empowerment, while the perception to characteristics of the social systems has no relationship. Therefore, the role of empowerment innovation is necessary for capacity building.

Abstract

Students must learn to think algebraically because algebraic thinking is part of several ways of thinking in learning mathematics. Algebraic thinking is also closely related to making generalization patterns. Algebraic thinking is thinking that expresses connections into general relationships, then compares and manipulates them. Therefore, it is important for students to hone algebraic thinking skills. However, the fact is that students' algebraic thinking abilities are still low. The aim of this research is to investigate students' natural thinking abilities in solving mathematical problems. The approach used is qualitative descriptive research. The instruments in this research were one algebra story question and an interview guide. Data validity testing uses internal validity (credibility) in the form of technical triangulation. The results of this research show that students with good mathematical skills also have good algebraic thinking skills because students are able to fulfill all indicators, namely genarsional, transformational, and global meta levels correctly. Students with moderate mathematical abilities are only able to fulfill the transformation indicators and global meta level, but with incorrect answers. Students with low mathematical abilities meet the transformation indicators and global meta level, but with incorrect answers.

Abstract

Mathematical concepts can be found in the culture of the community, such as in daily activities and handicrafts. One type of handicraft is the pencar, a cast net (throw net) fishermen use to catch fish. This research aims to explore the arithmetic sequences involved in making a pencar. This research uses qualitative research with ethnography. The research was conducted in Marong Village, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Data were obtained by direct observation of the pencar and the process of making it, interviews with cast-net handycrafters, and literature studies on arithmetic sequences. The results of this study show that there are three arithmetic sequences in the pencar. The first sequence, the number of anak (meshes) between each anakan (widener) in the n-th widener row, is 3, 4, 5, and so on, formulated by Un = 3 + (n - 1). The second sequence, the number of anakan (widener) in the n-th widener row is 44, 45, 46, and so on, formulated by Un = 44 + (n - 1). The third sequence, the number of lubang (meshes) in the n-th anakan is 44, 90, 138, 188, and so on, formulated by Un = n^2 + 43n. The arithmetic sequences in pencar can be used as a problem context for culture-based learning in the arithmetic sequence topic.

Abstract

Covid-19 has an impact on the economy, where ADB decreased with estimates in Asian Developing Countries by 3.0 ppts to 2.2%, and for ASEAN by 3.7 ppts to 1.0% (ASEAN, 2020). In addition, one of the indicators that shows that the occurrence of stock market movements, can be seen through the country's stock price index. The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI), which is one of the benchmarks for the Indonesian stock market, on March 5, 2020 was at 5,638.13 and experienced a low on March 24, 2020 at 3,937.63. This study aims to determine the effect of inflation, exchange rate, and TVA on the stock price index in the basic and chemical industry sectors, which in this case uses data in the period January 2020 -June 2022, namely the period where the stock price index of the basic industry and chemical sectors shows a downward trend in April 2020 and November 2020. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling samples so that 64 Companies in the Basic and Chemical Industries Sector were obtained listed on the IDX. The data analysis technique used in this study uses descriptive statistical analysis to describe the data that has been collected. The results of the study for the F test showed that inflation, exchange rates and TVA had a positive and significant effect on the stock price index. While the results of the t-test show that inflation has a positive and insignificant effect, the exchange rate has a positive and significant effect on the stock price index, and TVA has a negative and insignificant effect on the stock price index.

Abstract

Food security and family economic resilience are strategic issues in rural communities, particularly in the face of vulnerable socio-economic dynamics. A promising strategy to address these challenges involves the adoption of mycorrhiza-based biofertilizer technology, which is both environmentally sustainable and economically beneficial. This community service program aimed to empower farmer groups and housewives in Blang Krueng Village, Aceh Besar District, to independently produce and utilize mycorrhiza-based biofertilizers for seasonal vegetable cultivation as an effort to enhance food security and household income. Activities were carried out through counseling sessions, technical training on mycorrhizal propagation using pot culture with maize as the host plant, and field demonstrations on various vegetable crops. Conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic, the program highlighted the urgency of applying localized technologies to address household food and income vulnerabilities. The results showed a 75% increase in participants' knowledge, the production of 500–1000 kg of mycorrhizal inoculum per cycle, improved harvest quality, and a 30% average increase in selling prices. This program also supported economic independence through the marketing of biofertilizers and agricultural products. The empowerment model demonstrated here has the potential to be replicated in other communities to strengthen food security through eco-friendly technological innovation.
