Abstract

Sekolah di Kota Palu dan Kab. Sigi telah menerapkan Kurikulum Merdeka sehingga perlu memperhatikan persiapan yang dilakukan agar implementasi kurikulum berjalan dengan semestinya terutama dalam menyusun modul ajar berbasis TaRL (teaching at the right level). Namun ditemukan beberapa kesulitan guru yang dirangkum berdasarkan hasil observasi pada guru kimia dan penelusuran hasil penelitian diantaranya: Belum memahami penerapan konsep TaRL, kurangnya kemampuan mengintegrasikan konten kimia dan TaRL dalam menyusun modul ajar, belum menguasai teknik pembuatan modul ajar yang baik dan benar dan kurangnya pelatihan dan dukungan sumberdaya dalam menyusun modul ajar berbasis TaRL. Oleh karena itu dilaksanakan pelatihan penyusunan modul ajar berbasis TaRL dengan tujuan memberikan pengetahuan dan melatih kemampuan guru kimia di Kota Palu dan Kab Sigi dalam menyusun modul ajar berbasis TaRL. Sebelum pelatihan, nilai rata-rata pemahaman dan kemampuan guru dalam menyusun modul ajar berbasis TaRL adalah 48,86. Setelah pelatihan, diketahui kemampuan guru meningkat menjadi 87,43. Respon peserta terhadap pelaksanaan pelatihan dalam aspek materi, metode, media, dan instruktur pelatihan termasuk pada kategori sangat baik dengan hasil penilaian rata-rata sebesar 95. Produk yang dihasilkan pada pelatihan ini sebanyak 5 modul ajar berbasis TaRL.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan solusi yang inklusif dan berkelanjutan bagi anak-anak dan pengelola di Komunitas Sikolapomore terkait cara belajar calistung dengan permainan dan memanfaatkan lingkungan sebagai sumber belajar. Misalnya abjad card, kincir bilangan serta variasi sumber belajar dari lingkungan melalui ecoprint dan penanaman mangrove. Komunitas Sikolapomore adalah sekolah bermain untuk semua kalangan termasuk anak tidak sekolah (ATS) di Kota Palu. Pada awal berdirinya jumlah ATS di Sikolapomore berkisar 20 anak, Akan tetapi seiring berjalannya waktu siswa di sikolapomore berkurang jumlahnya dengan jumlah siswa yang tersisa 10 anak. Hal ini disebabkan siswa merasa bosan dengan metode pembelajaran yang kurang menarik dan kurang inovatif. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, diperlukan upaya untuk membangkitkan kembali keinginan ATS untuk belajar calistung melalui pelatihan. Metode yang digunakan pada pelatihan ini adalah demonstrasi interaktif dan pemberian contoh kontekstual dalam belajar calistung. Peserta kegiatan ini sebanyak 20 peserta. Berdasarkan penilaian observer diketahui pelaksanaan kegiatan ini pada aspek efektivitas metode mendapat skor 94, keterlibatan peserta didik mendapat skor 96, unjuk kerja peserta skor mendapat skor 92 dan potensi keberlanjutan program skor mendapat skor 92. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media seperti kartu abjad dan kincir bilangan berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan membaca dan berhitung peserta dengan cara yang interaktif dan menyenangkan. Peserta menunjukkan antusiasme yang tinggi dalam mempelajari konsep-konsep dasar calistung. Variasi sumber belajar, seperti eco print dan penanaman mangrove, memberikan pengalaman pembelajaran yang kontekstual dan bermakna.

Abstract

This study aimed to obtain a description of the critical thinking skills of SMA Negeri 3 Palu students in solving reaction rate problems. The type of research used is descriptive-quantitative, with the research design in the form of case studies. The research sample consisted of students of class XI IPA 1 to XI IPA 4 SMA Negeri 3 Palu, with 108 students. The research instrument used is a critical thinking skill test in the form of 6 questions, validated with a value obtained for expert validation of 3.72 and an average empirical validation value of 0.72. Data analysis is done by calculating the grades students get for each indicator of critical thinking skills, then grouping them by essential categories of thinking. According to Ennis, the indicators of critical thinking skills used in this study are to provide simple explanations, build basic skills, draw conclusions, provide further explanations, and set strategies and tactics. Based on the results of the research data analysis, the highest percentage of critical thinking skills for the five indicators used in a row, namely 37.04, 51.85, 61.11, 53.70, and 42.59 %. These results show that each student has different critical thinking skills. The percentage obtained is, on average, in the medium to high category. The results of this study show that the essential thinking skills of high school students of SMA Negeri 3 Palu, grade XI IPA, are in a good category.

Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dalam rangka melatih guru-guru kimia untuk membuat dan mengembangkan modul praktikum agar memudahkan guru kimia dalam proses pembelajaran terutama yang berhubungan dengan praktikum dan secara khusus untuk meningkatkan kreativitas merancang dan mengembangkan modul praktikum berbasis green chemistry, keterampilan dalam penerapan model pembelajaran inovatif dengan pendekatan TPACK-HOTS, dan dalam pengelolaan laboratorium. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk pelatihan menggunakan metode ceramah, diskusi, dan praktek serta dilakukan tindak lanjut dengan melakukan pendampingan pada guru-guru (SMA/SMK/MA) di MGMP Kimia Kota Palu. Tahapan kegiatan pengabdian ini terdiri dari 3 tahapan utama, yaitu tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan dan tahap evaluasi. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah 20 orang guru anggota MGMP Kimia Kota Palu. Selanjutnya, guru kimia yang mengikuti pelatihan diminta membimbing teman sejawat guru kimia yang ada di tempatnya. Target modul praktikum yang berisi prosedur praktikum yang memanfaatkan bahan dan alat yang sederhana berbasis green chemistry yang terkumpul dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah minimal 4 judul. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini dinyatakan berhasil apabila khalayak sasaran sudah terlatih untuk membuat modul praktikum berbasis green chemistry yang dapat diaplikasikan dalam pembelajaran.. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari bahan alat dan prosedur praktikum yang sudah sesuai dengan prinsip dasar green chemistry, yaitu ramah lingkungan, mengurangi pencemaran lingkungan, tidak tergolong dalam bahan berbahaya.

Abstract

Didalam penelitian ini peneliti memiliki beberapa aspek pokok bahasan yang dituju, yaitu (1) Mengetahui bagaimana proses dalam menerapkan pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dan media interaktif, (2) Pengaruh terhadap kepercayaan diri dan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning dan media Interaktif. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Subyek penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IIB Sekolah Dasar Negeri Model Terpadu Madani yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan model siklus Kemmis dan MC. Tagart. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah teknik tes dan teknik non tes. Instrumen penelitian dengan menggunakan butir soal dan lembar observasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, persentase kepercayaan diri siswa meningkat dari Siklus I dan Siklus II masing-masing sebesar 63,25% dan 90,25%. Sedangkan persentase ketuntasan hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia menunjukkan perkembangan dari Pra-Siklus, Siklus I, dan Siklus II masing-masing sebesar 36,6%, 66,6%, dan 90%. Oleh karena itu, penerapan model Problem Based Learning dan media interaktif terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan hasil belajar siswa kelas IIB di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Model Terpadu Madani. Model Problem Based Learning dapat mendukung siswa dalam bekerja sama dalam kelompok dan memanfaatkan informasi untuk mencari solusi atas masalah. Di sisi lain, media interaktif dapat meningkatkan motivasi siswa dengan menjadikan proses belajar lebih menarik dan partisipatif.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the implementation of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) within a problem-based learning (PBL) approach to enhance students' creativity and learning outcomes in science subjects at SD Inpres Tanamodindi. The research was conducted in Grade V of SD Inpres 1 Tanamodindi Palu, where students exhibit diverse academic abilities. Following the research design proposed by Kemmis and McTaggart (2013) and Zhong, Y. (2024), the study was carried out in two cycles. Data collection methods included observations, interviews, field notes, and learning outcome assessments. The findings reveal that integrating the STEAM approach into the PBL model at SD Inpres Tanamodindi led to an improvement in learning outcomes, rising from 64.65 in the first cycle to 71.77 in the second cycle. Additionally, students' creativity in solving science-related problems improved, progressing from the "sufficient" category in cycle 1 to the "very good" category in cycle 2.

Abstract

This study is a literature review that aims to analyze research trends on Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Mathematical Communication, Ethnomathematics, and Problem Solving in mathematics education, and to provide recommendations for variables with potential for future research. Bibliometric analysis was used to identify relevant research articles. Search data were obtained from Google Scholar from 2000 to 2024 using the keywords problem-based learning, mathematical communication, ethnomathematics, and problem solving, with publication types limited to journals, articles, and conference papers. From a total of 72 articles initially screened, the refinement process yielded 52 relevant articles published between 2007 and 2024. To analyze the data comprehensively and achieve the research objectives, data analysis was conducted using Harzing's Publish or Perish, Excel, and VOSviewer. The benefit of this research is that it can help researchers who will conduct further research on problem-based learning, mathematical communication, ethnomathematics, and problem-solving by identifying the opportunities identified in this study. The results of this study show a continuous and developing research trend and provide recommendations for variables that have the potential to be studied in the future related to the integration of the keywords problem-based learning, ethnomathematics, and mathematical communication as a proposed strategic approach to simultaneously strengthen mathematical literacy and mathematical problem-solving skills in the context of modern learning. This study is expected to provide a roadmap and outline new opportunities for researchers interested in exploring topics related to the keywords, serve as an important reference, and inspire new research with greater novelty, thereby supporting the development of 21st-century skills through mathematics education. Keywords: problem-based learning, mathematical communication, ethnomathematics, problem solving, bibliometric analysis, VOSviewer.

Abstract

Problem-Based Learning is a learning model that focuses primarily on problems in the learning process. It encourages students to collaborate in groups to solve problems through various activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on students' numeracy literacy skills in acid-base material. This study used a quantitative, true-experimental design. The research population consisted of 47 students. The research sample was obtained using purposive sampling, divided into an experimental class of 15 students from class XI MIA 2 and a control class of 16 students from class XI MIA 1. The research instruments included a literacy test comprising 20 multiple-choice questions and a numeracy test comprising five essay questions. Experts validated all instruments provided. Data analysis used the Mann-Whitney test. The results of the data analysis showed that the Mann-Whitney test p-value (0.000) was lower than the predetermined significance level of 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that the PBL learning model affects students' numeracy literacy skills.

Abstract

This study is aimed to derive a description of learning result improvement on salt hydrolysis material by implementing POE (Predict, Observe, Explain) learning model on the students of grade XI at SMA Negeri 7 Palu. This study was a pre-experimental within Static Group Comparison design. Sampling was carried out in a simple random with class XI MIA 1 as the experiment class and XI MIA 5 as the replication class. The instruments used in this study divided into 3 competencies, the affective competency using an observation sheet, the psychomotor competency using self-assessment questionnaire and the cognitive competency using a final test. Statistical inferential analysis using t-test one right side by requiring normal and homogeneous data. The average psychmotor competency of students in the XI MIA 1 is 81, whilst for replication class is 79. The average cognitive competency of students in XI MIA 1 is 77 with deviation standard of 10.55, whilst for replication class is 75 with standard deviation of 12.98. The result of hypothesis test using t-test one right side is tcalculated> ttable or 3.32> 1.71, whilst for replication class is 1.85>1.72, so H0 was rejected. This result concludes that the implementation of POE learning model in Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 7 Palu improves learning achievement on salt hydrolysis material to be more than competency minimum standard of 70.

Abstract

This study aims to longitudinally describe the metacognitive skills and external representation in the context of problem-solving at Chemistry Education, Tadulako University. The qualitative study respondents were selected from a number of first year students for two consecutive semesters. Two respondents were selected based on results of selection using a metacognitive skills assessment questionnaire (MCAI) and we categorized as high and medium. Three problems were resolved by respondents at intervals of one to two weeks in each semester through a one-on-one thinking aloud and it was followed by a semi-structured interview. Data collection was recorded using a video camera. Metacognitive skills and external representation data from the odd and even semesters were deeply analyzed. This analysis technique was carried out by examining the results of problem solving and semi-structured interviews in detail and matching them with the indicators of metacogni-tive skills and external representation used by both respondents. The data analysis results showed that the thinking ability of respondents with high metacognitive skills in problem solving, experienced developments over time along with the development of their cognitive regulation and external representation. On the other hand, respondents with intermediate metacognitive skills during problem solving, were relatively the same for two consecutive semesters. Therefore, teachers need to consider the use of learning strategies by taking into account the number of students who have dominant characteristics in classroom learning, in terms of metacog-nitive skills and external representation.
