Abstract

Based on the results of preliminary observations at SMP Negeri 10 Mataram shows that students are less involved in the learning process, students tend to be passive and their interest in learning is not optimal due to the lack of variation in the use of instructional media by teachers and have never used the media of domino cards. Therefore, through the development of a domino card based worksheet it is hoped that it can improve student cognitive learning outcomes. This research is a research development with the aim to determine the shape and feasibility of student worksheets (LKS) based on domino cards. Student worksheets (LKS) based on domino cards are student worksheets with the substance of natural science material that are more interesting and enjoyable to learn than other media because this domino card game fosters excessive curiosity and is challenged to seek statements with right answers. The development model in this study is the 4-D model of Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel (1974) which consists of 4 stages, namely: 1) Define; 2) Design; 3) Develop; and 4) Disseminate. In this study only three stages were carried out, namely the define, design and develop stages. The role of the validator will be requested after the develop stage is completed. The results of this study obtained an average score of expert validation results of 78.33%. The results of the analysis of the implementation of this device obtained a presentation by students at 94% with a very practical category and from the analysis of the teacher in terms of practicality of the device by 70% with a practical category while the cognitive learning outcomes of students with classical completeness were 80%. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the development of a domino card-based worksheet can improve student cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

Anthocyanin is one of the color pigments natural plant. One source of anthocyanin is purple eggplant, production in West Nusa Tenggara reached 62.408 tons in 2020. Generally, purple eggplant is only used as a source of food, even though the skin has great potential for research development. Therefore, this study aims to maximize the utilization of purple eggplant skin by innovating to develop a food safety testing biosensor. This type of research is true experiment researche using a qualitative approach, and using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 10 treatments and 3 replications. The parameter observed was the color change on whatmann paper no 42 before and after being dripped with the tested chemical solution. Data analysis using Spectrophotometer test and chemical selectivity test. The results showed that of the 5 types of chemicals tested, sodium nitrite had the most obvious color change when reacted with purple eggplant skin anthocyanins, at a concentration of 5% before being dropped it was light brownish in color, after dripping it was yellowish orange, and dark orange at a concentration of 10%. So from these results indicate that anthocyanins purple eggplant skin potential to be developed as a biosensor natural for food safety testing, particularly in detecting the use of sodium nitrite to exceed the threshold for processed meat products.

Abstract

Bats (Ordo Chiroptera) are one of the animals that have an important role in the sustainability of the ecosystem such as pollinators, seed dispersers, pest control and guano producers. In addition to their important role, bats are also animals (hosts) for several types of ectoparasites. Ectoparasites are parasitic organisms that live on the surface of the host's body. Generally, suck blood and live on the host’s hair, feathers, or skin. The research was conducted in Buwun Cave Prabu Village, Pujut District, Central Lombok Regency West Nusatenggara. Data collection on ectoparasites in bats was done manually with tweezers and a comb. Furthermore, samples of ectoparasites were identified based on sources of morphological evidence and referred to various references. The results showed that there were 3 species of bats identified, each consisting of 7 species of Eonycteris spelaea, 6 species of Rhinolopus simplex, and 3 Hipposideros diadema. Based on the results of the examination of the three bat species, there were 47 individual ectoparasites, which were identified in 3 species of ectoparasites, namely Cyclopodia horsfieldii, Amblyomma sp, and Meristapsis sp.

Abstract

The study aimed to observe the prevalence, intensity, and relationship of ectoparasites in bats in the southern region of Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara. The study was conducted in March 2018-February 2019. Bat samples were obtained from four caves in the southern part of Lombok Island. These caves include the Gale-gale Bangkang Cave, Buwun Cave, Semeti Cave, and the Raksasa Cave. Trapping bat samples for identification is done by using the Mist net. While taking ectoparasite samples is done by combing using a toothbrush. The organisms found were collected into sample bottles containing 70% alcohol. Analysis of the relationship between ectoparasites and bats was done by collecting data on ectoparasite species and ectoparasite abundance in each bat species, then further analysis was carried out to find the value of the Similarity Index (IS). The similarity index found is then cluster analysis. Cluster analysis aims to group based on similarity using Euclidean distance. The results of the study stated that based on the examination of 9 species of bats there were 14 species of ectoparasites identified. The value of the highest prevalence of ectoparasites in Gale-gale Cave Bangkang is found in Cyclopodia horsfieldii at 80% with an intensity value of 0.63, in Buwun cave is Amblyomma sp. of 100% with an intensity value of 1.50, in Cave Kenculit is Amblyomma sp. of 40% with an intensity value of 4.25 and in the Raksasa Cave is Cyclopodia horsfieldii of 70% with an intensity value of 0.71. While the relationship between the existence of ectoparasites in the bat's body states that the ectoparasite group in the body of bats can be grouped into 5 community groups. Group I consisted of the ectoparasite community in the Macroglossus minimus, and Rosettus an amplxicaudatus with Euclidean distance of 11,916. Group 2, the ectoparasite community was in Miniopterus pusillus, Rhinopoma microphyllum and Rhinolopus acuminatus with Euclidean distance of 15,362. Group 3 ectoparasite communities in the Chaerephon plicata and Taphozous melanopagon with Euclidean distances of 6,000. Group 4, the ectoparasite community only inhabited Eonycteris spelaea with Euclidean distance of 27,423. And group 5 also only inhabits Rhinolopus simplex with Euclidean distance of 46,293.
