Abstract

Malpractice is a humanity phenomenon that has attracted publics attention today. For example, from 2006-2012 there were 182 malpractice cases with various types of negligence. This huge amount is certainly very worrying. Meanwhile on the other hand, the question might arise, did the Prophet Muhammad saw. through hadith ever speak of this phenomenon? If yes, what are the humanity messages contained in these hadiths? This article is written to describe malpractice in the view of hadith. According to the data from hadith collection, both canonic and non-canonic, and combined with interpretatif method, the article concluded that the Prophet Muhammad saw. had discussed the prohibition of malpractice through the hadith narrated by Ab? D?wud and other mukharrij. Indeed, there are at least four messages contained in the hadiths, namely first, the necessity for a Muslim to respect the lives of others, because life is not something cheap in price. Second, in addressing the problem of humanity, even more so in the field of medicine should be done with in a professional manner. Third, the command to always humanize the human while still promoting the spirit of religion (humanitarianism). Fourth, giving a sense of justice to humanitarian system

Abstract

This article attempt to discuss the accommodation of social sciences into the study of Prophetic traditions (hadith) as part of the integration of science and religion. In this integration process, hadith takes a role as material object and benefit formal object from a wide range of social sciences, such as sociology, anthropology, geography, history, economics, psychology, as well political science. Thus, social sciences may in part help the practice of Hadith to formulate more contextual meaning that has been applied in various times and places. Take an instance,the contextual meaning of ”Quraisy” with people who have influence, gain fanatical support, and have the capability and quality in holding the position as head of state.

Abstract

This article analyzes the epistemology of the inkar al-sunnah (sunnah pengingkar), which specializes in the study of Kassim Ahmad, a Malaysian Malaysian thinker. Epistemologically, he rejects the existence of the hadith of the Prophet with three sources of knowledge, namely empirical, rational, and revelation. But unfortunately, even though he was passionate about "exposing" the problems surrounding the hadith, it was unexpected in his conclusions he stated that he still accepted the hadith if it was in accordance with the content of the Koran. This view also seemed to sink into the vast sea of ​​his rejection of hadith. This is the thing that feels ambiguous in Kassim's thinking. Furthermore, when examined in depth, Kassim's thoughts related to the placement of hadith are in the position of absolute inkar al-sunnah or with other perspectives categorized as inkar al-sunnah juz'i.

Abstract

Abstract: This article discusses an integration of natural and social sciences through understanding prophetic ḥadīth(s). It focuses on its conceptions, applications, and implications. The word “integration” is aimed to comprehend the ḥadīth in relation to those two particular sciences. This paper concludes that the conception of ḥadīth integration with the sciences lies on a paradigm shift in the study of ḥadīth. In this concept, ḥadīth(s) are used as material objects that are approached by the natural and social sciences as its formal objects (approach). In practice, four ḥadīth(s) are understood by the natural sciences, and the other four ḥadīth(s) as objects are understood by the social sciences. The understanding of ḥadīth through the natural sciences is textually stronger than that through directly understanding the textual ḥadīth, while the understanding through the social sciences alludes to the emergence of contextual understanding.Abstrak: Tulisan ini mengkaji integrasi ilmu-ilmu alam dan ilmu-ilmu sosial dengan pemahaman hadis Nabi, yang menitiberatkan pada kajian konsepsi, aplikasi, dan implikasi. Integrasi dalam tulisan ini dimaksudkan dengan pemahaman hadis dengan perangkat ilmu-ilmu alam dan ilmu-ilmu sosial. Tulisan ini menyimpulkan bahwa konsepsi integrasi hadis dengan ilmu-ilmu alam dan ilmu-ilmu sosial berpijak pada pergeseran paradigma dalam studi hadis. Dalam konsep ini, hadis berposisi sebagai objek material yang didekati dengan ilmu alam dan ilmu sosial sebagai objek formalnya (pendekatan). Dalam tataran aplikasi, empat hadis dipahami dengan ilmu-ilmu alam dan empat hadis sebagai objek yang dipahami dengan ilmu-ilmu sosial. Implikasi yang ditimbulkan oleh ilmu-ilmu alam adalah pemahaman tekstual yang lebih kuat dibandingkan dengan pemahaman langsung dari teks hadisnya, sedangkan ilmu-ilmu sosial berimplikasi munculnya pemahaman yang kontekstual.

Abstract

The paper examines the development of grave identity in the modern era, which focuses on Taman Makam Seniman dan Budayawan Giri Sapto, which is located on Gajah hill, Giri Rejo village, Imogiri sub-district, Bantul district, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. The grave that full of art elements is very interesting because it is devoted to artists and cultural observers and also does not recognize the exclusivity of certain religions, becomes a tourist destination in Yogyakarta, and is mentioned as the only one in the world. This study used field research, with qualitative-descriptive methods and data collecting techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The author finds that the artists’ grave (Makam Seniman) are grave with a characteristic exclusivity of certain professions (artists) and also store interesting artistic elements, namely the existence of several gravestones with unique shapes which symbolizes the art field of the deceased when it was still alive, the artwork displayed on the grave, and the funeral ceremony combined with art. Seeing the phenomena that created from this grave, it can be said that there has been a form of grave identity development in modern times due to the development of human culture, which in the context of the artists’ grave is realized by art. Artists’ grave essentially contains the development of identity as a grave place, which previously had appeared a grave with a model of religious identity, Pancasila (multi religions), heroes, kingdoms, and even pesantren. This type of grave identity with the model that is following a profession or a field that occupied by someone can be said to become a characteristic of the modern grave culture.

Abstract

This article discusses about displacement and development of mutawatir in hadith studies. The author finds that the term did not recognized in classical period of hadith studies and clearly introduced by Ibnu Salah (7 H.). The term was developed significantly by Ibnu Hajar (9 H.). After the emergence of Ibnu Hajar, mutawatir hadith became popular discourse and discussed by most of scholars. In this article, the author concludes that there are several displacements and developments, first, mutawatir hadith initially form a part of masyhur hadith and then standed independently on its afters works. Second, the number of mutawatir hadith were added significant, on its beginning not available, then said available one, and then developed continually. Third, the categorization of mutawatir hadith was added from one period to other period, lafzi, ma’nawi, and ‘amali. Fourth, in the early recognition, the numbers of transmitter ranging on fourty persons, and then fluctuated until number of ten persons becomes the popular opinion.

Abstract

Spider Web and Shajarah  al-lmIlm are two concepth of religious and scientific integration that are popular in the Islamic Religious College (PTKIN). The first concept is owned by UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, while the second concept is owned by UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. Therefore, this article focuses on reviewing integrative traditions in both concepth of integration of religion and science. This article concludes that in Spider Web, hadith are in h}adha>rah al-Nashsh which dialogue with h}adha>rah al-‘ilm and are bridged by h}adha>rah falsafah. In the concept there is also the word "sunnah" in ith normative meaning and hadith in ith historical meaning (‘Ulu>m al-Di>n), which then interacth in al-Fikr al-Isla>mi> and Dira>sat Isla>miyah in the next cluster. While in Shajarah  al-lmIlm, the Prophet's hadith became a source of knowledge along with the science of observation, experimentation, and logical reasoning. In the concept metaphor, the position of the hadith is in the trunk and learning is carried out gradually and neatly arranged. The study is carried out starting at the root first, then the stem, then branches and twigs, and ends with the fruit of knowledge, faith, good deeds, and noble character. Furthermore, this article finds some differences between integrative hadith studies in both concepth, namely first, the freer interaction of hadith scholarship in Spider Web, and the emergence of hadith as inspiration which certainly gives a new color to science in Shajarah al-‘Ilm; second, the integration of hadith which is philosophical and favored by activisth of Islamic studies in Spider Web, and the integration of hadith that is applicable and preferred by scientisth in Shajarah  al-lmIlm; and third, hadith in Islamic Studies is more developed in Spider Web, and hadith in general science is more able to develop in Shajarah al-‘Ilm.

Abstract

[Bahasa]: Persoalan radikalisme dan terorisme di Indonesia sudah sangat nampak kian berbahaya. Bahkan, aksi tersebut sudah menyeret anak-anak di dalamnya. Misalnya saja bom bunuh diri di tiga gereja Surabaya pada tahun 2018 silam yang juga melibatkan empat orang anak yang notebenenya masih sekolah, bahkan yang menyedihkan dua diantaranya masih berada pada tingkatan Sekolah Dasar. Pengabdian ini berupaya untuk turut berkontribusi dalam menyelesaikan persoalan tersebut dengan bentuk pengabdian di lembaga pendidikan dasar Islam, yakni Taman Pendidikan al-Qur’an (TPQ) dengan kerangka besar moderasi beragama. Kegiatan yang dijalankan ada dua, yakni parenting yang bernuansa wasathiyah dan perpustakaan Qur’ani. Dengan metode Participatory Action Research (PAR) dan dilaksanakan dalam jangka waktu tiga bulan, yaitu Juli sampai September 2020, pengabdi sampai pada kesimpulan bahwa dua kegiatan tersebut cukup bisa membangun pemahaman keagamaan masyarakat TPQ menjadi lebih moderat, atau paling tidak, bisa lebih memperkuat moderasi beragama yang sudah mereka yakini. Mereka menyadari bahwa harus adanya kecintaan terhadap Indonesia dan adanya kesadaran bahwa perbuatan radikalisme dan terorisme merupakan perbuatan yang keji. Meskipun demikian, pengabdi menyadari bahwa perlu waktu yang jauh lebih lama untuk bisa merubah pemahaman ke arah yang benar-benar moderat. Kata Kunci: moderasi; parenting wasathiyah; perpustakaan; Taman Pendidikan al-Qur’an [English]: The problems of radicalism and terrorism in Indonesia have become increasingly dangerous. The actions have already dragged children into it. For example, the suicide bombing in three churches in Surabaya in 2018 involved four schoolchildren; sadly, two of them were still at the elementary school level. This community service program seeks to resolve these problems by implementing religious moderation in Taman Pendidikan al-Qur’an (TPQ). The program comprised two activities; parenting with wasathiyah nuances and the Qur'anic library and applied Participatory Action Research (PAR). It was implemented within a period of three months, from July to September 2020. The results show that both programs are able to construct a moderate religious understanding of the TPQ community, or at the very least, reinforce the existing religious moderation they already have. They realized that people must love their homeland (Indonesia) and that radicalism and terrorism are heinous. Nonetheless, it will take much longer to change their understanding into a truly moderate one. Keywords: moderation; parenting wasathiyah; library; Taman Pendidikan al-Qur’an

Abstract

This article tries to outline the semiotic theory of communication traditions (hadith). This theory is found when doing integration-author of the study interconnect traditions of the Prophet with the theory of communication semiotics Umberto Eco. Semiotic theory of communication traditions include the nine components in the communication process hadith, that source (the Prophet), message I (editorial authentic Prophet), the transmitter (the narrators of hadith), signal I (various editorial traditions verbally), channel (various books of hadith), signal II (various editorial traditions in writing), receiver (reason riwâyah hadith), message II (single editorial hadith), and destination (reason semiotic). Methods of understanding hadith contained in destination components that implement the method of unlimited semiotics to find the final logical interpreting. One more thing that is important here, that the stored channel noise (interference) communication in the form of transformation from spoken language into written language, which can result in distortion of meaning.

Abstract

This article aims to elaborate methodological investigation of ?adîth criticism of the historians point of view. It also observes the salient differences between them and the scholars of ?adîth, as both are often on different worldview. Through descriptive-analytical study, the author comes to the conclusion that there are at least two methods of ?adîth criticism in historian perspective that are [1] critical in analysing the companions of the Prophet and [2] critical to the content (matn) of ?adîth. By shifting paradigm framework, it suggests that both of them should not be rejected. Both perspectives should be used as a method to develop the tradition of ?adîth criticism, although at some points, they have to be put on critical consideration. On the other side, the historian perspective might be useful to encourage the weaknesses which has been existed in conventional science of ?adîth criticism.
