Abstract

Penyelesaian masalah matematika memerlukan proses berpikir kritis. Berpikir kritis merupakan sebuah proses berpikir dengan melibatkan pemahaman yang mendalam untuk memecahkan masalah. Faktanya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP di Indonesia masih tergolong rendah. Kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa berbeda-beda, salah satunya dipengaruhi oleh gaya kognitif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pokok bahasan aritmatika sosial dengan gaya kognitif Field Independent (FI) dan Field Dependent (FD) di kelas VII MTs. Negeri 3 Mataram. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Pemilihan subjek menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 2 siswa yang bergaya kognitif FI dan 2 siswa yang bergaya kognitif FD. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT), tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan wawancara. Indikator berpikir kritis yang digunakan yaitu FRISCO (Focus, Reason, Inference, Situation, Clarity dan Overview). Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Siswa dengan gaya kognitif FI dapat mengerjakan soal kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan benar dan lengkap, 2) Siswa dengan gaya kognitif FD dalam mengidentifikasi jawaban tidak lengkap, sedikit kesulitan menuliskan jawaban padahal mampu memberikan kejelasan terkait istilah/definisi. Oleh karena itu, siswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif FI mampu memenuhi semua indikator berpikir kritis FRISCO, sedangkan siswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif FD mampu memenuhi empat dari enam indikator berpikir kritis yaitu Focus, Reason, Situation dan Clarity.

Abstract

This research aims to determine whether there is an influence of the reciprocal teaching learning model assisted by Student Worksheets (LKPD) on the mathematical communication skills of students at Senior High School 7 Mataram for the 2023/2024 academic year. This research is included in quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design research type with a posttest-only control design. The population in this study were all class X students at Senior High School 7 Mataram for the 2023/2024 academic year with samples from classes X.K and the instruments in this research are observation sheets and tests of mathematical communication skills as well as data analysis techniques using valid tests, namely the normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test. The results of this research show that there is a difference in the average value of the mathematical communication skills of students who use the reciprocal teaching learning model assisted by LKPD and students who use the conventional learning model. So this shows that there is an influence of the reciprocal teaching learning model assisted by Student Worksheets (LKPD) on the mathematical communication skills of students at Senior High School 7 Mataram in the 2023/2024 academic year

Abstract

Para guru Pendidikan dasar pengajar matematika di Yayasa Al-Aziziah belum pernah menggunakan alat peraga pembelajaran ketika mengajar geometri khususnya ketika menentukan rumus luas daerah bidang datar. Jadi masalah yang muncul adalah Para guru Pendidikan dasar pengajar matematika di Yayasa Al-Aziziah kemampuan mendisain pedoman Pengembanngan media manual untuk menentukan luas daerah bidang datar masih rendah. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah : 1) Mening- katkan kemampaun guru pendidkan dasar pengajar matematika di Yayasan Al-Aziziah tentang konsep dan prinsip luas daerah bidang datar, 2) Meningkatkan kemampuan merancang media manual dan pedoman pengembangannya untuk menentukan Formula atau prinsip luas daerah bidang datar. Permasalahan yang dialami oleh para guru terkait dengan merancang pedoman pengembangan media manual menetukan luas daerah bidang datar, maka solusi yang ditawarkan dalam pengabdian ini :1) Memberikan pemahaman tentang merancang media manual menentukan luas daerah bangun datar, 2) Simulasi dan praktek merancang pengembangan pembelajaran menggunakan media manual menentukan luas daerah dan 3) Diskusi dalam kelompok kerja dan presentasi tentang hasil kontruksi media manual dan langkah-langkah pengembangannya. Kegiatan Pengabdian pada Masyarakat yang telah dilakukan ternyata sangat efektif yakni terjadi perubahan kearah perbaikan yang signifikan karena skor rata-rata pre-tes = 4,217 dan skor rata-rata post-tes = 7,304. Hasil uji statistic t diperoleh bahwa = -2,0601 pada tafar signifikasi 0,05 atau dapat juga dilihat dari Sig = 0,000 < α = 0,05. Jadi secara keseluruhan bahwa pengetahuan tentang luas daerah bangun datar dan keterampilan merancang pengebangan pembelajaran menggunakan alat peraga manual menentukan luas daerah bidang rata meningkat yang ditunjukkan oleh perubahan nilai rerata tersebut. Dengan diperolehnya hasil dari kegiatan ini diharapkan pelatihan ini diperluas dalam rangka memperkuat pelaksanaan kurikulum yang sedang berlaku saat ini dan para pemerhati pendidikan turut serta mengambil peran untuk mewujudkan kegiatan ini untuk mengantisipasi pembelajaran matematika abad 21

Abstract

The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design. The purpose of this study was to test the consistency and effectiveness of the instruction manual for determining the area of a parallelogram and the area of a triangle for students of SD 6 Mataram. To achieve this goal, tools and instructions for use were used in learning for the 111th-grade students of SDN 6 Mataram and divided into 3 classes. Because the research was conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic, the media was designed to be a learning video that describes the use of props, and their operational guidelines are narrated in the video. The video that contains the use of the tool is considered very in accordance with the instructions for use|| props. The results of the evaluation showed that there was no significant difference in the mean scores of the three pairs of classes (significance level 5% |t_h | < t_table = 2,0002). On the other hand, the completeness obtained by students in each class is >80% (KKM=70). This means that there is complete student learning about the area of a parallelogram and the area of a triangle. Thus, it can be concluded that the teaching aids for determining the area of a parallelogram and the area of a triangle and the instructions for use are consistently effective in helping students achieve complete learning on the material for the area of a parallelogram and the area of a triangle.

Abstract

Abstract The ability to think creatively mathematically is an ability that students need to have to analyze mathematical problems from various points of view and then solve them with the ability to have many solutions and give birth to creative ideas and lots of ideas. The aim of the research is to describe the creative thinking abilities in mathematics of SMPN 4 Gerung students and which creative thinking abilities SMPN 4 Gerung students have. that students' creative thinking abilities in solving mathematics problems in class VIII at SMP Negeri 4 Gerung in the 2023/2024 academic year are generally dominant at level 1 (Less creative) at 37.5%. Then followed by students who were at level 3 (very creative) with 28.125%. Next, students who were at level 2 (creative) were 21.875% and finally students who were at level 0 (not creative) were 12.5%. So it can be concluded that the level of creative thinking of class VIII students at SMPN 4 Gerung is at level 1 (less creative).

Abstract

Seiring dengan semakin meredanya kasus COVID-19, pembelajaran secara luring mulai dilakukan. Namun, pembelajaran daring masih menjadi opsi yang cukup dipertimbangkan. Sementara itu, beberapa penelitian juga menemukan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa daring masih dalam tahap yang memuaskan. Untuk mendapatkan sistem kelas yang terbaik diantara kelas daring dan luring, penelitian ini berusaha untuk mengivestigasi mengenai profil peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa daring dan luring serta membandingkan peningkatan kemampuan dari kedua kelas tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen menggunakan pretes dan postes. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah 60 orang pendidikan matematika. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan pedoman wawancara. Data dianalisis menggunakan stattstika deskriptif dan uji T. Hasil penelitian menunjukan a) profil kategori peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa luring tersebar pada kategori sangat tinggi, tinggi, cukup, rendah dan sangat rendah berturut-turut sebanyak 7%, 17%, 48%, 21% dan 7%., b) profil kategori peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa daring tersebar pada kategori sangat tinggi, tinggi, cukup, rendah dan sangat rendah berturut-turut sebanyak 10%, 29%, 32%, 26%, dan 3%, c) tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara peningkatan kemampuan berpikirk kritis mahasiswa yang belajar dengan sitem daring dan luring.

Abstract

This research aims to produce teaching materials based on 21st century learning for prospective teacher students that are valid and effective. The method of this research was research and development (R&D) using the Thiagarajan 4D model. This model consists of several stages, namely definition, design, development, and dissemination. The test subjects of this research were 27 third-semester mathematics education students at the University of Mataram. Data was collected using a validation questionnaire for teaching materials for material experts, media, practitioners and lecturer and student response questionnaires. Meanwhile, effectiveness data was obtained from student scores on ability tests at the end of using teaching materials. The data was analyzed descriptively to categorize the classical completeness from the scores. The results of the research showed that the teaching materials for teaching critical and creative thinking skills met the criteria valid according to the assessment of material experts, media experts, practitioner experts, lecturers, and students, and their effectiveness has been tested so that it can be concluded that this module meets the requirements for use in learning to build creative thinking and critical thinking skills. These teaching materials can be references for teachers to study how to stimulate student’s critical and creative thinking.

Abstract

This study focuses on analyzing the relationship between verbal and numerical abilities in the ability to make mathematical models. The population of this study is junior high school students who use the 2013 curriculum in Mataram City. The research sample was taken with a stratified cluster sampling system. The sample used was 411 students. Data were taken using 3 tests, namely verbal ability test, numerical ability, and ability to make mathematical models. The data was collected using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, namely multiple linear regression analysis. Descriptive statistics show that more than half of the respondents are in the medium or high category for the three abilities tested. Furthermore, based on the results of inferential statistics, it is found that verbal and numerical abilities have a significant effect on the ability to make mathematical models. The relationship between the three variables, namely Y=0.355X1+0.204 X2-5.446, where Y is the score of the ability to make mathematical models, X1 is the score of verbal ability and X2 is the score of numerical ability. Together, verbal and numeric abilities affect the ability to make mathematical models by 61.2%. Meanwhile, the verbal ability has a direct effect on the ability to make mathematical models at 35.5%. The numerical ability has a direct effect on the ability of mathematical models by 56.6%. The findings imply that enhancing both verbal and numerical abilities at the same time can boost the effectiveness of mathematical models more effectively than enhancing each ability separately.

Abstract

The ability to design learning assessments is an essential competence for teachers to measure students’ achievement, evaluate the effectiveness of the learning process, and provide constructive feedback. This community service program was carried out to enhance the competence of elementary school teachers in the Suela Cluster, East Lombok, in developing relevant, interactive mathematics assessments supported by Artificial Intelligence (AI). The implementation method consisted of five stages: (1) needs analysis through teacher interviews, (2) intensive training on the use of AI and supporting applications such as Canva Magic AI and Almanack, (3) workshops on interactive assessment design, (4) classroom implementation mentoring, and (5) focus group discussions (FGD) on implementation results. Data were collected using questionnaires completed by 15 teachers, covering 13 indicators that assessed clarity of material delivery, trainer mastery, relevance, participation, usefulness, and the impact of training on teaching practice. The results showed that the average score per indicator ranged from 3.60 to 3.87 (scale 1–4), with the highest scores in clarity of delivery and relevance, and the lowest in time effectiveness. Qualitative analysis emphasized the need for longer duration, more varied practice examples (especially for lower grades), deeper materials, and program sustainability. Thus, the training proved effective in improving elementary school teachers’ competence in understanding and utilizing AI for mathematics assessment, although optimization is still required in technical aspects and program continuity.
