Abstract

In the era of globalization, companies face various challenges and risks, including competition. To survive in this constantly changing business environment, it is important to identify and address both opportunities and threats. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of sustainable entrepreneurial orientation on business performance in SMEs, with competitive advantage acting as a mediating variable. The research surveyed 325 SME entrepreneurs in Jakarta City. The data was analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Square (SEM PLS) approach. The findings demonstrate that sustainable entrepreneurial orientation has a significant effect on business performance in SMEs. In SMEs, there is a significant relationship between sustainable entrepreneurial orientation and competitive advantage, as well as between competitive advantage and business performance. The relationship between sustainable orientation and business performance is mediated by competitive advantage.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of Current Ratio (CR) and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) on Return on Equity (ROE) in food and beverage sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The population consists of 95 companies in 2023. Using purposive sampling, 26 companies were selected based on criteria such as consistent listing and publication of audited annual financial reports from 2020 to 2023. CR and DER are the independent variables, while ROE is the dependent variable. Panel data regression analysis was conducted using EViews software. The results show that CR and DER simultaneously have a significant effect on ROE. However, partially, CR does not significantly affect ROE, while DER has a negative and significant impact. This suggests that companies should manage their debt levels carefully, as excessive reliance on debt can reduce returns to shareholders. For investors, DER is a crucial indicator for evaluating financial risk and assessing a company's capital structure before making investment decisions.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines how digital transformation (DT) drives business sustainability (BS) by synthesizing fragmented research on the integration of digital technologies—such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, and big data analytics—with sustainability strategies. Using a PRISMA-compliant scoping review of 45 peer-reviewed articles published between 2018 and 2025 and guided by the Dynamic Capabilities Theory and the Triple Bottom Line framework, the study systematically maps industry focus, research methods, theoretical grounding, and sustainability dimensions. The review identifies five dominant pathways through which DT supports BS: circular economy enablement, smart resource management, supply chain transparency, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven decision-making. These technologies have been shown to improve resource efficiency, reduce emissions, and enhance ESG performance, yet the literature is heavily concentrated in developed economies, underrepresents small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and emerging markets, and relies primarily on quantitative, cross-sectional designs that offer limited causal or longitudinal evidence. For practitioners, aligning DT initiatives with strategic sustainability goals, developing organizational change-management capabilities, and fostering collaborative ecosystems are critical to realizing systemic sustainability gains. For policymakers, addressing issues of standardization, interoperability, and equitable access to digital resources is essential. This study contributes an integrated synthesis using established theoretical frameworks, clarifies the mechanisms linking DT and BS, and proposes a future research agenda emphasizing theoretical integration, methodological diversity, and broader geographic coverage.

Abstract

Business sustainability has become a central concern for organizations navigating the dynamic challenges of today’s economic, environmental, and social landscape. This study explores the evolving dimensions of business sustainability by examining how digital transformation, financial literacy, and entrepreneurial orientation contribute to long-term performance, particularly among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Southeast Asia. Using a systematic literature review (SLR) approach, 102 Scopus-indexed articles published between 2013 and 2025 were analyzed through PRISMA guidelines. The findings reveal that sustainability is not only driven by internal capabilities—such as innovation, green practices, and employee engagement but also by external forces like stakeholder expectations, digital policy, and post-pandemic recovery demands. Digital tools, when aligned with strong leadership and inclusive governance, are shown to accelerate MSMEs’ ability to adapt and compete sustainably. This research highlights the pressing need for integrated strategies that bridge business resilience with environmental and social value creation. Future studies are encouraged to explore the role of institutional context, cross-country collaboration, and sector-specific innovations to further enrich the discourse on sustainable business growth.
