Abstract

This paper reveals the voltage divider circuit to better understand the fundamental working principles in detail. The approach was simulated using popular offline simulators (i.e., Pr, CW circuit, and virtual mode, EWB, Mu, P, Ye, TS, QUCS, LTS, SI, and PhET). Two scenarios were carried out: measuring the output voltage (Vout) with known R1, R2, and DC source (Battery) as a voltage input (Vin), then looking for R1 and R2 using four different calculation methods to obtain Vout as expected. Afterward, the value of R1 and R2 were inserted into the simulation circuit to guarantee if the current Vout value matched the initial Vout. Finally, the simulation results were compared with the calculation results. All simulators provide an attractive GUI, capable of simulating voltage measurements with 100% accuracy in terms of DC analyses, which is DC voltage (except the CW software, which is only 98%), and can be entered in any resistor value (except Ye and PhET software). Surprisingly, the results of this study can provide insight for beginners to understand essential topics in electrical engineering studies, e.g., the circuit topology, fundamental theory, and working principle of a voltage divider circuit. Besides, the student will understand an offline electronic-based simulator suitable for measuring voltage parameters. Furthermore, they are expected to apply this circuit to various electronic circuit cases.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design and implement a Virtual Labolatory Materials Signal Processing Sub discussion 'Oscillator' Analog as Newspapers. Developers using the model Sutopo Ariesto Hadi (2003) as a method to produce the product. Consists of six stages: concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing and distribution. This results in the development of Virtual media Labolatory with material 'Oscillator' with the results of 4 (four) practicum digital oscillator, namely (1) Oscillator Wien Bridge, (2) Colpitts oscillator, (3) Oscillator Hartley and (4) astable multivibrator. Another result is that a user be jobsheet practicum. There are two types, namely: (1) jobsheet grip lecturers and (2) jobsheet for students. In Jobsheet there is a short book that contains the Manual on procedures for the use of virtual labolatory when practical and anatomical description of the product. Virtual Labolatory consists of the initial page (flash scren), the main page (home), pages and pages about the developer's lab referring to the story board. There are four (4) test are: (1) the truth polarity capacitor, (2) the connection (wiring), (3) mode frequency and time in the meter frequency

Abstract

Telah diselenggarakan pelatihan pembuatan Alat Permainan Edukatif (APE) untuk guru PAUD di Kp. Cikarees RT 04 RW 04 Desa Padasuka Kec. Cibatu Kab. Garut, Provinsi Jawa Barat pada masa New Normal (Selasa, 22 Desember 2020). Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengasah dan meningkatkan keterampilan guru-guru PAUD di Kp. Cikarees dalam pembuatan APE. Kegiatan pelatihan ini sebagai salah satu aktivitas pengabdian masyarakat pada program KKN Tematik PPD Covid-19 UPI Tahun 2020 bidang pendidikan. Pelatihan dilakukan secara offline dengan memperhatikan protocol Kesehatan Covid-19 secara ketat. APE yang dijadikan media pelatihan berbahan lokal (mudah didapat) dan telah disesuaikan dengan tema pembelajaran di PAUD Kp. Cikarees. Workshop dibatasi dengan tiga tema APE yaitu; Panca Indera, Profesi, dan Buah-buahan. Sebanyak 4 guru PAUD hadir dari beberapa guru yang diundang dalam kegiatan ini, yakni dua orang guru dari sekolah Kober Miftahusaadah dan dua orang guru dari sekolah TK At-Thohariah. Metode pelaksanaan pelatihan ini melalui 3 tahapan, yakni; Tahap Persiapan, Tahap inti yang berisi pemaparan teori dan praktik langsung pembuatan APE, terakhir adalah tahap evaluasi dengan cara memberikan angket pada setiap guru-guru yang terlibat. Pelaksanaan pelatihan ini berjalan dengan lancar sehingga tujuan kegiatan dapat tercapai, yaitu; guru PAUD memperoleh pemahaman lebih mendalam terkait APE dan mengasah kreativitas guru-guru PAUD di Kp. Cikarees dalam membuatnya.

Abstract

Design, implementation, and its evaluation of visible light communication (VLC) using 1-PWM is discussed clearly in this paper. The designed system consists of two main blocks: VLC Coordinator that cover DSP and AFE transmitter whereas the VLC client covers the DSP and AFE receiver. The Microcontroller STM32F4 board is employed as DSP device in this project, both for coordinator- and client-side. The VLC demo shows that real-time texts streaming with 10 kb of packet size can be performed well. Our VLC system can be used optimally in 50 to 70 cm of optical channel distance with 0 degrees. In other hands, the maximum bit-rate of this VLC system is limited to 3.3 kbps.

Abstract

Penggunaan sistem komunikasi cahaya tampak sebagai metode komunikasi alternatif selain RF didorong oleh beberapa faktor, salah satunya adalah penghematan energi karena sistem ini menggunakan satu devais yang sama untuk pencahayaan ruangan sekaligus komunikasi data yaitu LED. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memodelkan sistem komunikasi cahaya tampak berbasis multi-carrier modulation (yakni DCO-OFDM) dengan bantuan perangkat lunak MATLAB. Pada penelitian ini, sistem dimodelkan atas dua bagian yakni blok Digital Signal Processing (DSP) dan kanal optik. Blok DSP terdiri atas FFT, convolutional encoder, modulator-demodulator, interleaver-deinterleaver, dan synchronizer. Untuk error control coding (ECC) digunakan algoritma Viterbi decoder. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa frame DCO-OFDM telah berhasil didesain dan berdasarkan perhitungan matematis melalui pendekatan MATLAB, sistem VLC dapat bekerja dengan baik pada ruangan 5m x 5m x 3m, yakni BER = 0 untuk nilai minimum SNR = 10 dB, sementara nilai SNR tertinggi yang dapat dicapai adalah ~30 dB.

Abstract

Makalah ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (R&D) yang menghasilkan seperangkat produk media pembelajaran praktikum sistem instrumentasi analog, yaitu pembangkit sinyal (osilator) yang terdiri dari atas produk yakni: (1) alat peraga atautrainer yang terdiri atas osilator Phase Shift RC; osilator Wien Bridge; osilator Hartley; osilator Colpitts;  dan Astable Multivibrator. (2) Modul praktikum pegangan dosen dan modul praktikum untuk mahasiswa, serta (3) Manual Bookyang merupakan petunjuk penggunaan alat peraga. Objek peneltian dilakukan di Jurusan Teknik Elektro, Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Negeri Malang (JTE FT UM) yang dilatarbelakangi oleh perlunya alat peraga osilator dilabolatoriumnya untuk menunjang kelancaran kegiatan pembelajaran. Ketiga produk telah diuji coba baik secara fungsional maupun uji kelayakan pemakaian produk yang dilakukan pada 3 (tiga) kelompok responden yakni: Ahli media, Ahli materi,dan mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk telah memenuhi kriteria valid dari para ahli dan mendapat respon positif dari mahasiswa praktikan. Dengan demikian perangkat media yang dikembangkan sudah layak untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran praktikum.

Abstract

Trainer board is a modelling device approach which has related function or same with real pheneonom, it was designed for upgrading the cognitive and the psychomotoric ability of students in a practical courses understanding and applicating concepts.  This research goals is to make a trainer board of Astable Multivibrator oscillator, we hope that this learning tools can help them in facilitate to learn Astable Multivibrator characteristics as well as laboratories insfrastructure need. The method in design and implement this trainer board is prototyping and assembling with several approach steps, i.e. identification; simulation; experiment, design process; fabrication; and finally is testing. Abstract

In a visible light communication (VLC) system, there are many modules involved. One of the important modules is Transimpedance Amplifier (TIA) that resides in the analog front-end receiver (Rx-AFE). TIA is responsible for performing signal conversion from current signal, which is provided from the photodiode (PD) to voltage signal. It is the reason why the TIA should be operating in low noise condition and wide bandwidth of frequency. These will enable a flexible coverage of the VLC system in performing its signal processing. Hence, in this research, we provide considerations of the noise and frequency bandwidth analysis in designing TIA to cope with the required design specification of a VLC system.

Abstract

In this paper, a curtain controller for smart home is presented. The aim of this work is to develop an end device in smart home system that will support power conservation function indirectly, specifically a curtain open/close controller. To achieve this, the 28BYJ-48 stepper motor is used as actuator with the assistance of ULN2003A driver. The motor is controlled using STM32L100RCT6 microcontroller, which is chosen due to its low power consumption. The microcontroller controls the motor’s direction by using a pulse width modulation logic signals emitted from four GPIO pins, which works based on data transmitted from central host through ZigBee protocol on Mesh network. Meanwhile, from the user’s side, the control is done by using Android-based application, which is connected to central host through Bluetooth. Based on the testing conducted on a miniature curtain, the curtain can be controlled wirelessly through the Android application. Furthermore, the device consumes power 210.5 mW for idle condition and 1,586 mW for process condition. The amount of the consumed power makes it suitable for low-power operation and in alignment with the smart home system’s overall aim for power conservation in the wireless sensor network-based smart home system.

Abstract

The design and implementation of visible light communication systems for transmitting digital data (texts) have been discussed in this paper. Then, two evaluations were performed also, i.e. the demonstration of streaming text through the visible light as a proof-of-concept system design. The next evaluation is a BER measurement intended to know the VLC system performance quantitatively. The value of BER against the several parameters: by the variation of distance and its reception angle. The proposed VLC system works well until the photodiode reception angle to the LEDs up to 50°. According to evaluation, our system can operate optimally within 30 – 80 cm or 50 – 130 cm of optical channel range depending on the Gain setting option. To support the reliability of noise from ambient light and interference lamps such as fluorescent lamps, the filters circuit are employed: high pass filter and DC-offset remover. Based on the BER analysis, the filters can compensate the problem of ambient light noise (DC-offset signal) and interference lamp (100-150 Hz of carrier frequency). The speed of data-rate obtained with 1-PWM modulation and the low-cost analog component is 3.3 kbps.
